She didn't know how long she had been out, but as Frisk slowly returned to her senses, the child could feel her head resting on someone's lap, and with a slight groan, she tried to sit up but found herself too exhausted to do so.
"Sup, kiddo, have a nice nap?" a familiar voice spoke, and Frisk slowly lifted her head to see who was talking to her, and despite her vision being fuzzy, there was no mistake about that big toothy grin.
"S..sans," she stammered.
"Well, last time I checked," the Skeleton chuckled, "well, I'm glad you're now awake because I wanted to discuss something with you." As her vision slowly came back into focus, Frisk could make out a hallway of some kind, its walls and flooring where some gold color and tall pillars running stood on opposites sides of the hallway all seemed somewhat familiar to Frisk. However, it didn't take long for the child to recognize this room as it was the same room from her nightmare where Sans had attacked her for some reason.
"Hey kiddo, you alright? You seem a little pale! Sans pointed out, noticing that Frisk was staring at him, she was breathing heavily, and the color had drained from her face "oh jeez, you're not gonna have another seizure, are you?" However, to the Skeleton's surprise, the little girl let out a squeal before wriggling out of his grasp and cowering against one of the pillars, much to the short Skeleton's confusion. "Hey kid, what's the matter?." Standing up, Sans made his way over to the cowering child, who swatted at him with her hand, almost like she was trying to fight him off.
"Please don't hurt me. I didn't kill Papyrus. I didn't kill anyone," she sobbed. "Please don't give me a bad time, please." Sans titled his head in confusion. Just what was the kid saying? Was she still delirious from the Seizure she had just had? The Skeleton crouched in front of the trembling child, putting his hand on her shoulder as she shook with fear.
"Hey kiddo, it's ok, you're ok. I know you haven't killed Papyrus or anyone," he assured her "this is kinda what I wanted t talk to you about, this place here is the judgment hall, this is where any humans who have fallen into the underground get judged for their very actions. So I determine whether you killed anyone or not. But you never killed or harmed anyone while you were down here, so you're fine." After a few minutes, Frisk eventually began to calm down and thought now might be a good time to tell Sans about her nightmare.
"B...but that right when I stayed at the MTT resort, I had a nightmare where I was in this very room, and you were there, you said I had killed Papyrus, then you started throwing me around the room, and then you...you..." the child was unable to finish what she wanted to say. Still, Sans had an idea of just how that sentence ended.
"Oh jeez, well, it's no wonder you freaked out when you found yourself in this place and saw me. Well, I assure you, kiddo, that you're fine." After calming down slightly, Frisk slowly stood up and looked at Sans, looking back at her, his hands in his pockets. "So, I guess this is it, your journey is almost over, soon you will meet the King and then you will have to fave against him, although, I think you should wait a little while before you do go up against him, you ain't looking so good."
Indeed, just like Sans had pointed out, Frisk wasn't looking so great at all, her face was pale, and there were dark circles under her eyes. So it wasn't surprising that she had been trapped down here for how long with a medical condition and with no medication to keep it under control, and the number of seizures she had endured must have been taking their toll on her tiny body.
However, Frisk wasn't willing to give up now, she had come this far, and despite still recovering from her Seizure, the little girl turned her heel and headed straight to the other end of the corridor, only for Sans the grab her wrist, stopping her.
"Woah, kid, what are you doing?" The Skeleton asked, "please tell me you're not going to face up against him right now. You should at least rest first. You just had another seizure. You should at least rest first."
"No," Frisk replied, shaking her head, "I've come this far now. I'm not giving up now." Seeing the determination on the child's face, Sans nodded and let go of her wrist. "Well, kid, if you really wanna do this, then I won't stop you, but promise me one thing" Frisk gave a slight nod "if you start feeling funny or anything, then promise me that you will return here, then I can take you back to my place so you can rest."
"I promise," the girl replied in a small voice, "but I have to do this. I need to get home before my condition gets any worse."
"I understand, kiddo. Well, good luck, and remember what I said." Frisk nodded before turning and heading in the opposite direction with Sans watching on, knowing that the child was in no current state to face up against Asgore. What if she has another seizure during the fight against him?
"Well, old lady, I tried to keep my promise," Sans muttered to no one in particular, "but the kid is way too determined. However, I feel she isn't in the right condition for this now."
Meanwhile, Frisk made her way down a corridor to the throne room. The little girl stumbled a few times, still feeling weak from her last Seizure. But, she was willing to give up now, she had come all this way, and she wouldn't let her Epilepsy get in the way. "Come on, Frisk, you can do this," she muttered to herself "you come this far now, don't give up, stay determined." So, the Ten-year-old girl continued forward until she finally reached the throne room and stepped inside with a deep breath, knowing this was it.
As he finished watering the last of the Flowers, King Asgore hummed a tune when he caught something in the corner of his eye entering the throne room.
"Oh, I'll be with you in just a second. I'm just finishing watering the rest of these flowers," Asgore replied as he finished watering them "now, how can I" he turned around and was almost taken aback by what stood before him. A human child, a little girl, no older than ten, timidly looked up at him. The first thing he noticed was that the girl looked rather ill, her face was deathly pale, and there were dark circles under her eyes "oh, I so badly want to ask if you would like a cup of tea, but you know how it is, you know what is to come right?"
"Y..yes, sir," the girl replied timidly, and Asgore couldn't help but notice that the child looked like she would pass out.
"It's a beautiful day outside. Birds are singing, flowers are blooming," Asgore said, "tell me, young one, what is your name?"
"F..Frisk, your highness."
"I see. Well, what is your age, Frisk?" the king asked.
"Ten, sir," the child replied in the same timid voice.
"Well, young Frisk, you know what happens now, right?" the little girl nodded "very well, well, come into the other room when you are ready." As Asgore turned, about to head into the other room, he heard what sounded like a whimper followed by a thud, and he turned around to see that Frisk had collapsed to the floor. The child was still conscious but barely, and with a surprised gasp, Asgore quickly rushed over to where she had fallen and crouched beside her.
"Oh goodness, you seem to be rather ill young one, hmm," Frisk let out a pitiful whimper as his large hands picked up her small form before cradling her on his lap, almost like a newborn baby. "I guess it wouldn't be fair to make you fight if you are in no condition."
"W..wanna go home," Frisk mumbled in her delirious state. The number of seizures she had was finally starting to take its toll on her, leaving her in the current state she was in now.
"Hush now, young one, no need to be frightened," Asgore reassured the weak child " I'm not going to take your soul because, to be honest, it wouldn't be right to harm a sick human, so instead, you will remain here until you are well enough, you have my mercy human."
"B..but what the barrier, don't you need my soul to break it?" Frisk asked. The little girl was fighting so hard to stay awake, plus she could feel another seizure coming on "h..how am I going to get back?"
"Now calm yourself, young one," Asgore reassured the child "once you have recovered from whatever sickness you may have, then I will help you cross the barrier myself. If I am being honest, I never really wanted to hurt anyone. It's just that, in a fit of anger after losing my children, I declared war on humanity. However, my wife became disgusted with my actions and left the castle, and I haven't seen her since" he paused, noticing that Frisk was struggling to stay awake "oh my, well, I don't know what exactly is the reason behind the current state you are in, but I can assure you that I will do my best to take care of you."
Feeling reassured that Asgore intended not to hurt her or make her fight, Frisk gave the monster king a small smile and thought it would be a good time to mention her Epilepsy and that it was why she was in the current condition she was in right now. However, as she mentioned it, the child noticed a circle of familiar white pellets surrounding the king.
"Little one, whatever is….." Asgore was cut off when the pellets slowly began to float towards him before striking, causing the king to drop Frisk to the floor as he slowly turned to dust. Letting out a whimper, Frisk slightly lifted her head as the one creature she had dreaded seeing again was right in front of her, his face turning into a malicious sneer when he saw the weakened state Frisk was in.
"F….Flowey," the little girl stammered, "what...did...you...do."
"You idiot," Flowey sneered as six different colored hearts began to surround him, and Frisk realized that these must have been the souls of the previous humans that had fallen " you haven't learned the thing, in this world, it's kill or be killed." The sound of Flowey's evil cackling and him absorbing the six souls was the last thing Frisk heard and saw before she fell unconscious, having another Seizure.
After absorbing the souls, Flowey watched with an evil sneer as the young girl continued to convulse violently before falling limp, and he considered finishing her off right there and then whilst she was in this weakened state and taking her seventh and final soul, but instead, he decided to hold off from that for now and instead toy with the young girl before finishing her off, but for now, he had to wait for her to come out of her episode.
"Hmm, this is is going to be fun," he sneered, "very fun indeed."
