Souls P.O.V
After traversing the endless white and red halls, we had finally met up near the exit. It felt like it had been centuries since we had seen each other, even if it's only been an hour.
"Jenny is everyone alright?" I worriedly asked.
"Well, Crimson could be better, but AngiThe sound of boots slamming the tile floor drowned out the blaring alarm system overhead. Crimson had massive wounds, Jenny was practically carrying him around like luggage. "Don't mean to interrupt this beautiful union of sorts, but you guys do realize we're being hunted by Team Rocket and a bunch of other Pokemon? Don't you think we should try to figure out a way to get this door open?" Cinnamon reminded us, her tone very angry and sarcastic. The door was almost as big as a Dragonite, probably strong and durable as a steel type. To break through, we would need a very strong fire type move like fire blast, or flame-thrower.
"Jenny could probably burn a hole through the door if she used flame-thrower" Spirit had pointed out.
"Jenny! I need you to try burning the door open! It's sealed shut and we don't have much time!" Jenny nodded and she started using flame-thrower on the door. "Angi, Cinnamon, I need you to take Crimson and keep him where he can relax and heal his wounds" Spirit had looked over to the Vulpix in the corner, still soaked in her own mother's blood. "Spirit, I need you to keep her occupied. Can't imagine what it's like to be soaked in your mother's own blood…." my mind trailed to when I saw Spirit for the first time. Covered in blood and unable to move. That night where she was near death.
"What will you do Soul?" Spirit had snapped me out of my trans. Standing still, I focused my eyes on what lay ahead. "I plan on buying you guys some time to get out of here. I was the one that got us here, and I'll be the one to get us out." Ignoring Spirits pleads I walked out of the room. Far ahead I could see shattered lights flickering on and off. My leg was still in excruciating pain after the fall from the vent. I didn't know how I was going to hold them off, but I would just have to make things up as they went along.
Cinnamon's P.O.V
Silence fell over the room as Soul walked into the desolate and dark hallway. We knew he would be back. But didn't know when.
"Jenny how's that wall coming? Any further on the break-through?" I asked her. She paused for a moment to catch her breath, as she had been using flame-thrower continuously for about 10 minutes now.
"I might be halfway though. I just hope Soul can buy me about 15 more minutes. After that we can just make a run for it." Jenny then returned to burning an exit through the door. Crimson was on the borderline of passing out, he had lost too much blood. I don't even think he will make it. Standing up was a task for him, every time he tried standing up, his legs would go out from underneath him. "You can't move. You could risk losing more blood." Again he tried getting up, his breathing heavy, his legs shaking. Blood flew onto the flood from his mouth as he coughed.
"Crimson. Please don't move! You're already in enough of a bad position. Just wait until we get you to a safe location. I don't need to lose you." Angi snuggled up to her best friend. You could see the tears dripping from her eyes, the true pain and sorrow that she might lose the only friend she's had.
"I have to get up, Angi. I can't just be carried the remainder of the way." He looked as pale as a pillow, and as much sweat as a water type. "Just hold on Crimson. We'll get you some help. It won't be long till Jenny burns a hole through the door…..at least I hope."
Soul P.O.V
I could barely dodge any attacks at this rate. The houndooms surrounded me, with their flame-throwers at the ready. Dark pulses emitted from my body, while it didn't do much, I could at least reposition myself, catch my breath at the very least. I moved as quickly as I could with a near broken leg, back to the exit. Houndooms were not far behind. The temperature of the hallway increased drastically. That's when the idea came to me. If I could lead them back to the room, I could get the heat of their flamethrowers to melt the door. One of the houndooms had tried to sweep my legs out from underneath me, but I managed to dodge and retaliate with a shadow ball. That was one houndoom down. Purple bubbles rose up from the floor as I used toxic, hoping I could slow down their approach. However they still were approaching rapidly compared to my speed. The room was just up ahead. Adrenaline rushed through my whole body as I kept nimbly avoiding all the attacks they threw my direction. I had so much adrenaline that I couldn't even feel the pain inside of my leg anymore. Nearly there I kept telling myself. No matter what I had to make it back to the room. Not only for me but for everyone else's sake. Pillars of flame erupted from behind me as they came closer and closer. I didn't care though. My mind was focused on one thing only. Making it out alive.
No One's P.O.V
Jenny was almost done making a hole into the wall. What was on the other side was unknown, but surely it had to be better than what this facility was. Crimson was losing more color by the minute. He could pass off for a ghost type with the shades of white he was turning. A huge red moat of blood surrounded him. Cinnamon was consoling Angi, and Spirit was staring at the pitch black hallway waiting for Soul to come back.
"C'mon Soul…" Spirit kept assuring herself that he would be back eventually. She had to do this, otherwise she would go insane. A large thud blasted through the room as a giant piece of metal hit the floor. An updraft of dust and sand blocked everyone's vision for a few seconds.
"I got the passage open guys! It looks like it leads to the forest!" Jenny alerted us. Everyone turned their head once the dust had settled to see lush and vibrant green bushes with red flashing lights.
"QUICK EVERYONE GO! THEY'RE RIGHT BEHIND ME!" Soul shouted, already dashing towards the exit in the wall. No one knew where they would end up, but I had to be better than what was behind them. Flames erupted from the building as everyone frantically exited it. Taking a quick peek over his shoulders, Soul saw Angi still with Crimson. "Come on Angi, we have to go. They're already coming down the hall as we speak." Soul tried reasoning with Angi, but she wouldn't budge.
"I'm not leaving my friend behind. I wouldn't expect you to leave Spirit behind. So please don't make me leave Crimson…..he's all I have left." Tears dropped from her face. As much as it pained her, she knew that they had to leave, otherwise they might never find another opportunity to escape.
"A-a-angi…." Crimson stuttered, trying to hold onto enough air to form a sentence. "I came here to set you free. That's all I came here for. I don't want to die for nothing…" he lifted his left hand from his wound and lightly brushed the Jolteons face. Their eyes locked, all the memories they had over the years in one long painful moment. "Please. Just go. I'll be fine." Crimson knew he wouldn't be fine. He was dying and he knew it. The pool of blood grew bigger by the moment, and he couldn't stop shivering from the coldness of the room. Angi still didn't know what to do. "Come on Angi….we have to go." Soul said. One last time, Angi brushed up against the blood soaked Zoroark. "Goodbye Crimson. I'll miss you…." slowly backing off of the passing Crimson, before the two left, he showed a smile of approval. He didn't die in vain. He knew he had done the right things and could die peacefully. Memories of simpler times flooded his mind as he closed his eyes for the last time.
Spirits P.O.V
I could see Angi and Soul retreating from the flame engulfing the building safely. Angi was crying rivers over the loss of her best friend. It truly is such a sore feeling to lose someone that's been there for you your whole life. We continued our escapade throughout the forest, trying to find any sight that was familiar. They immediately started running towards the bush before a huge ball of orange fur knocked both Angi and Soul into the tree's behind them.
"Soul!" I cried out. A large Arcanine stood between the two before directing his eyes at the rest of the group. His face scrunched up and smoke came out his nostrils. Frozen in place, I couldn't think of what to do in this situation. All I could feel was fear. My legs were shivering like they had been in the ice box, a feeling I never wanted to feel again as I lived. Arcanine started to charge but was knocked back a few feet when Soul tackled him from the side.
"Angi, go with the rest of them to the village." Soul ordered. She ran over to Jenny and the rest of the group. "Spirit" he walked closer to me and stared me dead in the eyes. I knew what he was going to do. I didn't want him to do it. Why couldn't he just stay and leave with us? Why couldn't they just LEAVE us alone? He may not be a psychic type but he could already read the expression on my face. When he put his head on mine I felt the world collapse around us. Nothing mattered but just being here with him. "I know." his voice was quiet and smooth like a sarane. "I know this is hard for you. I don't want to leave you again. I promised that I would find you. That I would keep you close. As much as I hate to break that promise, you know that they will follow us and put everyone at risk. At least if I go they have two trails to follow. And besides…." his speech was cut short by the Arcanine regaining his composure after being shot back a dozen feet. "I still have to deal with him. So please don't make this harder on me than it already is. Go with the rest of them to the village. I will be there as soon as I can." One last time I hugged him as hard as I could. There just was no other way. He walked off towards the Arcanine, and the beast again locked eyes with me. "Hey buddy...didn't anyone ever tell you to never take your eyes off your opponent?" Soul mocked as he slammed into him again at Mach speeds. It seemed so unreal that we had to leave another behind.
Soul's Battle
Arcanine had been using extreme speed to leap across the battlegrounds in seconds but he still couldn't reach the escaped experiment. Soul was filled with determination and gave all of his might to beat this foul beast.
"Oh come on I'm halfway in my grave and you can't even hit me? Oh this is just sad. I have a broken leg yet you have all four intact." His pearly whites fangs showed as his smirk reached from one ear to the other. One of his first lessons when battling was to remain calm even under the most dire of stances. Normally he wouldn't be taunting during a battle, but it was the only way he could actually keep calm with all the frights in his mind. Thoughts of what would he do if he can't hold them off long enough, or what would happen to him, would he ever see her again? "You're telling you are triple my size and the moves you have cover my body you can't manage to land one shot?" The Arcanine lunged at him, teeth bared and everything.
"When I eventually do catch you, I'll make sure they won't even be able to recognize you…" he was moving so fast that to the normal eye he was a blur. Soul just started laughing but knew that he was serious. If he did get caught it was all over. But for his sake he had to keep him pre-occupied at least until Spirit got far enough away from base. "Oh please. If you're gonna try to sound threatening, then stop playing tag." He was surely angering the Arcanine enough to where he would only think about him. Dark Pulses started to gather around Soul and shot out at high speed, but only grazed the fur of him. When using Dark Pulse, one cannot move due to the energy needed to perform the move in the first place. Moving too fast could drain more stamina than the move itself. He was unable to move and was forced to take whatever he threw at him. He braced himself for an incoming tackle. "Oh sh-" before he could even finish a thought, he was sent back into the wall, almost making it collapse in the process. "Tag. You're it." He said with a sinister smile. Soul could hardly move. He was pretty sure he broke a rib, if not another one. Slowly but surely he got up again. "Nice shot. Looks like you actually caught up." Soul knew he couldn't take him on. It was only a matter of time before the rest of the foot soldiers came marching out. He had to think of a way to step outside of this guy's range for long enough to escape. He needs to figure out how to outsmart him. "Come on Soul think...what can we use against him" Soul thought to himself. "Alright. First, Arcanines are big bodied, meaning I could possibly use his weight against him. Most are also very vain. Wait a minute…" That's when he figured out what to do. "Tell me...did your mother teach you how to hit?" About 400 degree flames torched Soul's paw before he could fully dodge. Soul tried sliding away to prevent his body from taking the full heat, but he got his other leg as well. The feeling Soul had at that very moment was the feeling of having one's skin melt off because they left their hand on the stove top for too long. But it was all part of the plan. He dashed around a bit just to make the Arcanine waste some of his energy. For a solid 5 minutes he spewed flames towards the small Umbreon until he couldn't anymore. Soul took his opportunity and charged at the Arcanine, leaped and bit his ear. Like a rodeo bull, he tried to buck Soul off of him. But he found a better solution instead. *WHAM* the whole tree shook as he slammed Soul into the tree. "Well that was a bit rough." Soul talked down the pain as he got up. His adrenaline was wearing off and he started to feel all the pain he had suffered through tonight. The Arcanine took no time to waste and immediately bit into Souls leg. Little embers came out of his mouth when his teeth sunk into Souls fur. "Arrrgh…." he cried as the pain rushed through his body. "Get off! He retaliated by kicking the Arcanine off of him. But he lost balance by doing so, so he left himself open for one attack. He put everything he had into one last attack. He charged at full speed, he hit Soul in the middle of his body, knowing the impact was going to be huge. Soul flew back at least 20 feet just to hit a tree full on. "Ugh…" he could barely move at this point. He wanted to roll over and die at this point. Was it really worth it? To suffer this much? He knew the answer. "why can't you just let us go…" tears started to swell up from all the pain he felt. He did not respond and instead decided to step on his broken leg to make him scream in agony. While this did hurt, Arcanine did exactly what he wanted him to do all alone. There's no way he would let himself just be hit by all these attacks even in the condition he was in. Every ounce of pain had been building up and he wasn't about to pay it back the hard way.
"So. Any last words before I gut you?" he had no idea what was coming. "Yeah. I got a few words for you. Nothing will ever keep me from seeing Spirit again" smiling as the Arcanine crept in closer. "Oh I know how you mates are. She couldn't have gotten too far. I'll make sure to reunite you two shortly." Now. Soul headbutt him as hard as he could. All of the anger and frustration, the abuse everyone was put into trying to rescue him, all the pain Spirit was put into because of his stupidity...all into one possibly fatal attack. While a lot of his bones are broken, he returned the favor by cracking the skull of this Arcanine. He quickly dropped to the floor like a bag of rocks. One could hear the echoes of a skull being shattered. Soul nearly passed out from the exchange, but knew there was no time for that. Before the guards came out, he quickly hid in a shrubbery far away from the Arcanines body. He couldn't leave just yet. All of the hound-dooms had started walking to the possibly dead Arcanine, sniffing around the body to find a lead. With all the smoke in the area, Soul knew his tracks would be hard to find. "I need a breather…" his eyes closed as he slowly drifted to sleep.
Three Hours Later*
"I don't see anything village wise...I think we've strayed off the path." Cinnamon lowered her head to the ground.
"It's getting pretty late guys. I think we should turn in for tonight. They probably lost us by now. But we should still try to keep a decent pace in case they are following us…" Luke had deduced that if we only rest for a few hours and keep under the cover of night, not only would it hinder the sight of their trackers, an aerial attempt to track would be harder to see due to the trees and darkness covering them. Giving them enough time to slip ahead.
"So just a few hours?" Jenny asked. "Yeah. Anymore we put ourselves at greater risk of being caught. If you can, try to blend more in with the scenery. I know they have Golbats so they might be doing recon to find any escaped pokemon." Luke stretched his limbs before starting to lay down.
"Guess I'm going to catch some shut eye then. I'm so tired…" Cinnamon fell asleep near a bush, giving her the most natural camouflage due to her native typing. Spirit however did not sleep. She stared back at the still visible smoke from the laboratory.
"Spirit" Jenny whispered into her ear trying to sooth the worried Eeveelution. "You know how Soul is. Once he has his mind set on something he doesn't stop at anything to accomplish his goal. He said he would find you, and he will." Knowing she wasn't going to break through to her, she just continued to comfort the Vulpix who had lost everything she knew in one day. She wrapped her tails around the child, blanketing her from the coldness of the forest.
For hours upon hours thoughts of Soul drifted through her mind. He was the only thing that mattered to her. His lucious and thick black fur, his dark ruby eyes, his golden rings. Eventually morning time came and Spirit had not had a single ounce of sleep.
"Come on guys, we need to get moving. We still have a long way to go before we reach the village." Luke gathered everyone up and they headed tor we towards the village once more.
Soul's P.O.V
It's been a few hours since I woke up. They hadn't managed to find me as I hid and fell asleep in the shrubbery. Hopefully they hadn't closed in on the others either. Still groggy and in pain, my legs still trudged forward as I tried to find my way out of this mess. The Arcanine was still lifeless lying there. Their footprints had trailed off the left, signifying they had headed Spirits was shortly after I took him down. "Oh no…" the words just fell out of my mouth. "I need to catch up to them…" no one was around so I ran as fast as I could, ignoring all the broken bones and bruises I had. "Please Spirit, be careful." He muttered under his breath.
Spirit's P.O.V
With all the trees leaning over like a canopy, it was hard to tell exactly what time of day it was.
"If I had to give it a guess guys, I'd say it's about 8AM. Since the light isn't exactly shining through the leaves, but it isn't as dark as the forest normally is." I said. Nobody really said anything along the way. Everybody had their minds on something or someone they had lost because of all of this. David….Crimson….Soul...all of them were missing or dead. Angi trailed behind the group, sobbing about losing her only friend she hadn't seen in so long. Jenny lost David, one of the most caring people in the village, while I missed Soul. I overreacted. I shouldn't have done what I had done. None of this would have happened if it wasn't because of me. If only I could go back and fix everything. I lost everyone because of one mistake.
"Hey guys…." Cinnamon started looking at her surroundings taking in every sight and every detail. "Is it just me or does it feel like we're being watched? Like someone's trailing us." Luke started to scan the surroundings, trying to sense any movement with his aura. At first he didn't sense anything, but he felt faint movement to the right. He stood still for s few seconds before sending an aura sphere in the direction of the movement. Nothing happened. He lost track of where it was, it was starting to come at everyone from all sides. Until a loud voice broke the tense air. "Run!" Luke yelled at the top of his lungs. We dashed as fast as we could into the depths of the forest.
"How did they find us? There is no way they could have seen through the trees! I thought the Soul would lead them away from us!" Jenny picked up the Vulpix in her mouth and put her on her back, she knew she would not be able to keep up with everyone. No one was able to see what we were running from, so why were we running? I decided to stop for a minute and look around. Nothing was moving but the branches were just swaying with the wind. That was until I saw something black moving in the distance. It had a golden yellow ring and dark ruby eyes. He also had a limp to him...soul? I asked myself. Not sure if my eyes were deceiving me or not. The suspect figure kept moving closer and closer. No. It wasn't Soul. It was running right for me. Realizing this I turned around and sprinted. I don't know why I didn't realize it wasn't Soul sooner. Am I really losing my mind over not being able to see him?
Soul's P.O.V
I never ran faster in my life. I had to find them and warn them. They couldn't be too far off, I could still smell the trail they left behind. All of a sudden I could see a blue sphere fly in my direction out of nowhere. "What the?" pondering what exactly sent that in his direction. None of the pokemon at the facility could learn that move. All of them were dark, poison, or fire types. Only one Pokemon could learn that move. "No way that's Luke. He wouldn't aim it towards me. He would have sensed me by now. Unless…", I felt a tingling sensation that where I was standing was going to get me killed. Dodging an iron tail narrowly from a Hound-doom behind me. His breath red eyes focused on where I was going and used toxic to catch my landing. When toxic is used on you, as long as you don't stay in the spot too long, all you get is a nauseating feeling that stays with you for a while. It was enough to slow me down for a bit.
"Run!" Luke called off in the distance. I didn't have time to deal with him. I needed to get to them. I dodged the Hound-dooms next attack as he came flying at me. Talking advantage, my legs took off and headed towards the group. I could see Spirit off in the distance just sitting there. Why was she just sitting there? I kept running towards her until I saw a Hound-doom coming right for her. "Spirit move!" It seemed she didn't hear me because she was still frozen in stance. "God DAMNIT" I thought to myself. I used all the speed I could to tackle the Hound-doom to the side. I had just enough force to knock him out of the way into the bushed. "Spirit let's go!" I grabbed her and started bolting down the path like an athlete.
No One's P.O.V
"Soul is that you?" Spirit asked with a perplexed tone.
"Yes it's me. Please we need to get a move on before they catch us." About 3 Hound-dooms were trailing us relentlessly. Their paws and body's were so sore, but they had to keep going. "How long have you been following us Soul?" Soul thought about it for a few minutes, his face scrunched up trying to count how long time had passed since he woke up. "Well after I fought that Arcanine, I had to hide since I was running on no fuel, so I went away in a shrubbery. I fell asleep after that, and then saw that these guys were leading me right to you guys. Thought I trailed them off. Guess not." The Hound-dooms were catching up slowly but surely. They had no choice but to fight them in their current condition. "Spirit, we can't keep running forever. We're gonna have to fight them head on." Spirits eyes grew as she heard his plan. "Are you crazy Soul? In our condition we may as well commit suicide and" Soul cut her off. "It's our only choice. One way or another they are gonna catch up. We could catch them off guard and possibly get a surprise attack, or we could keep running and run out of stamina." She knew he was right. Dark energy balls appeared around Souls body, preparing to launch them at their persecutors. A very bright and dazzling light came out of Spirits eyes as she blinded the Hound-dooms. "Soul now!" Soul released all the pent up energy he had and launched them at the group of Hound-dooms. As they opened up their eyes all they could see was pitch black balls of pure speed headed their way. Behind them was another group of Hound-dooms and Golbats. "We can't fight all of them at once! We need to run!" Soul looked at all of them. He knew they would catch up eventually. There was no way of stopping them before reaching the others. Even though he hated he had to do it, he had to be left behind again. "Spirit. I just want you to know that I will be back. I don't know when, and I don't know where, but I will find you. But if I lead them away from you guys, I can guarantee everyone's safety. I know it's not easy, but it needs to be done." Spirit looked into his eyes. "No. I'm not leaving you behind again. When I left you behind I wasn't able to sleep with myself." she cried at the thought of leaving him again. "Spirit…..there really is no other choice this time. I have to...do you not see? There isn't much time left. Go." she knew there was no changing his mind. "You're so stubborn you know?" she laughed as he wiped the tears away. "I love you Spirit." He leaned in and kissed her. As if time had stopped right there, Soul had leaned in to kiss her. It was like not one thing in the world could ever stop them. But the moment didn't last for long. She wished she could learn on him for just a second longer. "It's time to go Spirit. I'll meet up with you as soon as I can." She ran away from Soul to reach the others. Hopefully she wasn't too far away from them. Her mind again flooded with thoughts about Soul. She never knew if she would see him again. And that was the only thing she cared about.
Spirit's P.O.V
It's been a few days since I've seen anyone. Just been wandering the woods for hours upon hours. I knew that no one was following me beyond this point. Too far away from base for them to even consider tracking me down. It felt good to be long gone from their horrid operations. But that doesn't mean it's been easy. I've still been in copious amounts of pain from previous events, I haven't really had anything to eat, nor have I been able to sleep. I've been awake for nearly 60 hours. Most people would pass out at that point, but determination helped me keep going. If I passed out here who knows what dangers could happen? No one would be here to rescue me. No one here to hear my cries of help. My stomach started growling so loud I thought someone had snuck up on me. But it was just my mind playing tricks on me. "Oh….better guess I should get some food." I calmed myself, and found a little lake nearby with an oran-berry bush. It seemed like a nice and quaint place to grab a bite to eat. I picked myself some berries off the branch and sat near the cooling water. Since food hadn't really been a top priority of mine, I scarfed down all the oran berries to make up for lost time eating. Not that it would really do much. Not much substance in berries alone. I liked this little pond. If I wasn't trying to find my way home I think I'd stay for awhile. After finishing my berries I trudged on the way home. Being hopelessly lost isn't the most fun thing in the world. There's no one to talk to...you have no idea where you are...no idea if anybody is even trying to find you...no one to take care of you. Hopefully my journey will come to an end soon. My legs began to wobble and become frail. "No...I must keep going…" refusing to give in, I continued to walk towards what I thought was the direction of the village. Was I headed the right direction? God only knows...it wasn't too long before my legs started to shake again. This time I couldn't really move. My whole body started to collapse. "No….I….must keep going…." I picked myself up one last time, and kept moving. Only managing to get a few feet ahead, I tumbled down back on to the ground. Was this the way I was going to go out? Alone in a forest with no one to help? "I don't want to die...I want to see Soul again…" I whispered under my breath. I started to well up at the fact that I would never see any of my friends again….or Soul. I mustered all of the remaining breath I had into a cry for help. My voice was too raspy to really make any sort of audible noise. I waited for a bit...but nobody came. I guess this is really how I go out. Wish I could have done things differently. With no energy left, I laid on my back and looked up at the sky before I passed out.
*Four Days later
"Spirit? Are you ok?" Is this what it's like to be dead? To have voices echoing in your head but no images to go along with it?
"Spirit? Can you hear me?" I tried opening my eyes and all I could see were blurs.
"Thank god she's at least awake." As my eyes started to clear up some I could see I was back at Soul's place. "But….how? How did I end up here?" I asked.
"Well I carried you from the lake you happened to be by. We sent out a rescue party when we got back to the village." I recognized that voice...it was Jenny's. "When we had started running, we saw you running with us. But when we all stopped after we lost them, we realized you weren't with us." Jenny lowered her head, and spoke softly. "I'm sorry we left you behind. We didn't realize it."
"It's fine Jenny. I stopped because I saw Soul. He managed to fend of the Arcanine and came to warn us about them trailing us. We eventually got separated again when hordes of them came at us….he stayed behind to fend them off…" just thinking about this experience hurt me.
"I see...so you don't know where Soul is either? He hasn't come back to the village yet either." Angi explained, but was unable to look me in the eye. "It's fine guys. He promised he would see me again. I'm going to hold him too it." I tried getting up but fell back down.
"Slow your roll there Spirit. You have barely eaten anything these past few days. It's going to take you a bit to regain your strength. For now, I'd suggest going back to sleep time being." We will find Soul...we promise that as well.
*One Week passes
It's been about a week but I feel better than ever. I still stay in Soul's place, and I stay awake most nights hoping he will return. He made a promise to me and I'm going to make him keep it. We've started building better defenses around the village to prevent any attacks from those monsters, and rumor has it a guild is going to be started soon.
"Hey...any chance I can come in?" I heard Cinnamon ask at the door.
"Yeah. I don't mind you coming in." She wiped her paws off on the mat and came in. "So I'm assuming you've been hearing about the rumors?" I already knew where this was going. "The rumors about the guild? Yeah. I've heard talk about it in the village." I replied. "Well...it is a thing that's going to be happening. We've lost a lot these past few weeks. David...Soul...and I want to create a team that protects this village from ever having to endure this again. In fact I wanted to spread this across the viridian area. No pokemon should have to go what we went through." Cinnamon looked down at the table...having memories of the lab. "So how does this involve me?"
"I was hoping you'd ask that." She retorted. "We would be looking for missing people, defen-" I cut her off before she could even finish. "You mean I could look for Soul?"
"Precisely. We want you as the leader of the guild. You've shown that you are more than capable of handling such a thing. Do you accept?" Knowing this would help me find Soul wherever he was, I was down for it. "I want you to know that I'll be back." Soul's voice ringed in my head. "I accept." I confirmed. "Soul, wherever you are, I will find you."
Authors Note
Wow it's finally done. After almost 3 years of writing this story it's over. Its been really hard for me to actually finish this chapter because I didn't know how I wanted it to play out. I feel like this is a perfect ending for the story to segway into the next arc of the story. I already have most of the chapter written. But knowing how I get block so easily, I'm probably going to try writing 3 chapters in advance before posting the first. So A. I can see more or less where I want the series as a whole to go, and B. That way you guys get the most amount of content. I also need to go back into the story before and fix plot-holes, grammar, etc. There was one person recently that prompted me to finish the story. He came into my DMs and asked me if I was going to continue since he liked this story so much. I just wanted to say thank you for that. And for that, I dedicate this chapter to you. I worked hard on this, and I tried to make it as long and clear as I could. Until next time guys.
