God walked with Samael towards Heaven's prison. As they approached, he could hear his wife chastising their oldest son.
"What were you thinking trying to keep something like this a secret? An unknown entity on your father's planet! And then you bring it here and ask your siblings to keep it a secret. This behavior is unacceptable, Amenadiel," The Goddess lectured.
"I couldn't have said it better, my dear," God said as he joined them. He then looked at his eldest child sternly. "Well? Do you have an explanation?"
"Father, I was handling the situation. I was going to come to you as soon as I knew what this being was and what she wanted. I didn't want to bother you. If Samael had just..." Amenadiel was immediately interrupted by his father.
"Do not try to blame this on your brother. He did the right thing. You should have come to me the moment you knew that there was a being that didn't belong on Earth. Instead, you place yourself and your siblings in danger by confronting it. Then you left your younger brother alone with it. This is very unbecoming for my second in command. We will speak about this at length later," God said in a hard tone.
"Darling, do you know what this being is?" The Goddess asked her husband.
"I'm afraid not, but I will find out momentarily. I intend to speak with it shortly," God told her.
"If you didn't create this being, why not just destroy it?" the Goddess asked. She didn't see the point of questioning a potentially dangerous being when it could just be destroyed.
"I will not execute a creature without cause. I will speak to it first. Then I will decide what the best course of action is," God told her.
"May I join you, father?" Samael asked. He wanted to be there when his father questioned the being. He didn't want her telling the same lies to his father that she did to him.
"No, Samael. I will not have any of you in the presence of this creature again until I have more information. I wish you had not met with it in the first place," God said.
"But, Father, She lies. She will tell you lies about me," Samael said. He didn't think it was fair that he couldn't be there to defend himself against this creature's lies.
"Now, Samael, you are my son. Do you truly believe I would take the word of a stranger over yours?" God asked.
Samael looked down. "No, Father. I apologize."
God placed his hands on his son's shoulders. "You have nothing to apologize for. I know how much you detest lies, a sentiment I share, but you have nothing to worry about, my son."
Samael nodded that he understood.
God smiled at his son before walking into the prison. He approached the cell that held a female creature. Samael was right when he said that she looked similar to celestials, but God could tell right away that she was not one. She had a different vibe to her, but she didn't seem dangerous. He sensed fear, confusion, and frustration coming from her, but not malice. "Hello."
Chloe, who had had been sitting against the far wall with her head down, immediately looked up and then got to her feet. "Who are you?"
"I could ask you the same, my dear. Neither my children, nor myself, can ascertain, who or what you are, and that is very concerning," God said.
"What I am is a cop, and you have no right to keep me here. Do you know how much trouble you could find yourself in?" Chloe asked.
God frowned. He didn't understand much of what she said, except that she seemed to believe herself more powerful than him. "Cop? Is that your species?"
"What? No, it's my profession. It's what I do," Chloe said. Was this guy serious or was he trying to play some sort of game with her. It had to be the latter, right? How could he not know what a cop was?
"Ah, I see. It's your title then. Just as mine is creator of the universe," God said.
Chloe scoffed. "So, you're claiming to be God. You must be Lucifer's father then. No wonder he's so screwed up."
"Yes, Samael told me that you seemed to know him by his title. He also says you know my son, Amenadiel. I really need to know how you know that," God said. His tone made it clear that expected an explanation.
"Because I know them! Lucifer's my partner, and until today, he hated you. What did you do to him? How did you get him to forgive you and forget about me?" Chloe demanded to know. His father doing something to him was the only explanation for Lucifer suddenly not remembering her and keeping her locked up in here.
"I love my son. I wouldn't harm him. Never insinuate so again," God warned in a calm, but cold tone.
Chloe couldn't deny some fear from the man's tone, but she refused to give into it. She wouldn't show weakness in front of this man. "There's no other explanation for the way he's acting. For him to completely forget who I am, someone did something to him."
God prodded the being's mind a little bit to see if she was lying or if she believed what she was saying. Her mind was a little erratic, as she quite confused and frustrated, but after a few moments, he came across images of her life, and of his son by her side. He appeared very friendly with her. The only explanation he could come up with, and it wasn't one he liked, was that she had some omniscience. "I believe you share a gift that I have, at least to an extent. You have omniscience, and it is causing you to envision things that have not yet happened. It must be a new gift since you seem to have confused the images for memories. Can you please tell me where you've come from and what you are?"
Chloe laughed at him. "What kind of game are you playing? There's no such thing as omniscience or God. I don't know what you're trying to do, but I refuse to do this anymore."
"I'm afraid you're mistaken there, as I stand before you," he said.
"Then prove it," Chloe dared him. She didn't believe it, but if he was what he claimed to be, he should have no problem proving so. "If you're God, you'll have some sort of paranormal ability, right?"
"Well, the problem with that is that I don't know what is paranormal to you, but I suppose it wouldn't hurt to try to prove to you who I am. If I am able to do so, I expect you in return to cooperated and answer all my questions," God told her. It wasn't that she'd refused to do so thus far, but she wasn't too forthcoming either.
"Sure," Chloe said. She didn't mind agreeing because there was no way this guy was going to convince her that he was God. If Lucifer couldn't convince her he was the Devil after over a year of partnership, this stranger certainly had no shot at convincing her that he was God.
God contemplated for a moment how to start. As he said, he had no idea what was and wasn't normal for this being. He supposed he could just start off slow and see how she reacted. He noticed an object sitting nearby. It was metal and oddly shaped. "Is that yours?"
"Yeah, it' s my gun. Don't touch it. You'll only add to charges that will be filed against you," Chloe said with a glare. Chloe had noticed just after Lucifer left that she no longer had her weapon. She saw moments later that it had been left in the room with her, but of course, it wasn't where she could get to it. They were mocking her with it.
"Very well. I won't put a finger on it. However…" God started before reaching a hand out and motioning for the object to come to him. It started levitating towards him moments later.
Chloe gasped in shock and backed up against the wall. "How'd you do that? It's some sort of trick, right?"
When the object made its way to him, God was true to his word and didn't touch it. Instead, he let it float in the air in front of him. "I thought it would take more than that. This obviously isn't something you can do."
"It's a parlor trick. It has to be," Chloe said, mainly to herself.
God waved his hand and returned the object back to where it came from. "I see I've frightened you. I was trying not to. That's why I decided to start small, but you did want proof."
"This can't be happening. I must be hallucinating or dreaming," Chloe told herself. Of course, it was something she'd been trying to tell herself since this whole thing started, and it didn't seem to be working. But this couldn't be real, could it? Everything she believed could not just be wrong. "Oh my God."
"I've convinced you then. Good. However, I can see you're in no condition to talk anymore now. Take the rest of the night to rest and we'll speak again tomorrow," God said before waving his hand once more. This time, a bed appeared in the cell.
Chloe yelped and shuddered when the object appeared out of nowhere. If she hadn't already, she was pretty sure she was about to have a nervous breakdown.
"If you need anything before then, you can simply call you out to me. I will get your message," God said before letting her be and walking away. In the meantime, he intended to use his own omniscience to try to determine who this creature was and how she got to his universe.
