Samael walked inside the prison. He knew he wasn't supposed to, but he needed to see the being again. He needed to understand why she kept telling such lies about him. He also wanted to know how it was she knew who he was. He had never seen her before, but she seemed to know his title.

As Samael approached, he found the being sitting on the bed with her knees pressed against her chest.

Chloe looked up when she heard someone approach. She went completely rigid when she saw Lucifer. Assuming she wasn't having a mental breakdown, Lucifer was the devil himself. She didn't know what to make of him anymore. Was he everything the world accused him of being? Was he evil? God didn't seem to think so. Although he didn't seem to know anything about what was going on in the world, which she didn't understand at all. He was God. How could he not know it was happening? How could he not know about humans? Chloe was really starting to think she was having a nervous breakdown.

"How do you know me?" Samael asked. She had said something to him about being partners, but he didn't know what she meant by that. He also didn't know how that was possible, since they'd never met before.

"I'm no longer sure I do, since I'm no longer sure you're really here. This crap can't be real,' Chloe said.

"I assure you, I am here. Why would you tell such lies about me?" Samael asked.

"I would never lie about you, Lucifer. Everything I've said is based on what you told me. Again, that's assuming this is all really happening," Chloe said.

"I have told you nothing! I have never even met you before," Samael said. He was starting to get angry again, but he forced himself to come down. He couldn't get answers if he lost his temper.

"How do I know your name then? Why am I even trying to convince you of anything? In all likelihood, you're not really here," Chloe said. The last part was meant mostly for herself.

"Lucifer isn't my name. It's my title. It means light bringer. My name is Samael," he said. It did unnerve him that she knew that much though. He supposed that wherever she was from, he could be famous or something. It was the only explanation he could come up with, but it didn't explain why she kept talking to him like he was supposed to know her. "What's your name?"

"Chloe," she answered.

"Why do you say I hate my father?" Samael asked.

"Because you've told me that many times."

"I would never say such a thing," Samael said strongly.

"Well, the Lucifer I know wouldn't say anything different. More proof that I'm probably having a nervous breakdown," Chloe said. She couldn't come up with any other logical explanation, but for the life of her, she could not figure out what triggered a breakdown. There was usually a reason when someone had a breakdown. She also thought she was thinking pretty coherently for someone who was losing their mind, but she couldn't come up with another explanation.

"What's a nervous breakdown?" Samael wondered.

"It means I'm losing my mind. I'm seeing and hearing things that aren't there," Chloe said.

"I assure you, I'm real," Samael told her.

Chloe laughed almost manically. "If you weren't, I'm pretty sure you'd still say that. You know, it's not the God thing that gets me. I could accept the fact that God is real and that the Devil is my partner. It would still freak me out, but I could accept that that's true. Hell, I had gotten myself to accept that much. But the fact that I was transported to the middle of nowhere, where every single human seems to have disappeared from the face of the earth and the fact that you and God himself don't seem to even know what humans are and that we were created by God is a little much for me to believe! Seems kind of impossible that God would forget creating an entire race of people."

"That is impossible," Samael agreed. His father's memory was perfect. He'd never forgotten anything. "But you are simply wrong. My father didn't create any such race. The last things he created were the dinosaurs, and they've been extinct for a handful of years. Very few creatures exist on the Earth now because of what destroyed them,"

Chloe could swear her heart stopped beating for a moment after hearing what Lucifer had to say. If she wasn't having a breakdown before, she was pretty sure she was about to. "What did you say?"

"I said there haven't been many creatures left on Earth since the dinosaurs were extinct. Earth is essentially inhabitable. We're still trying to rebuild it," Samael explained.

"No, no, no! That... That happened millions of years ago!" Chloe exclaimed.

Lucifer frowned in confusion. "No, it didn't. it has been perhaps five Earth years. It's been longer in the Silver City, but not that long." Time moved differently on Earth than in the Silver City. it had been about a century in the Silver City.

Chloe shook her head wildly. She was really glad she was sitting down right now. She was pretty sure she would have collapsed if she wasn't. This truly couldn't be happening. Lucifer was describing a time before human beings had even existed. that couldn't be right. No, she had to be losing it. "Oh my God! I've really lost my mind. Either that or I freaking time traveled."

"Time traveled? That's not possible," Samael said. Well, he supposed it was possible. His mother and father could probably do it, but they clearly hadn't. Amenadiel had some power over time, but not that much power. He could slow down time, but he couldn't travel through it or send someone else through it. If Samael's parents hadn't done it, there was no way this woman could come through time. No other being had that power to his knowledge However, he guessed it was possible his parents could have done it sometime in the future, and they couldn't remember it now because it didn't happen yet. But would his father not know he'd done it through his omniscience?

"Yeah, that's my point. This can't be happening," Chloe said.

"Chloe, this is real, so it must have happened. It would explain how you know my title, but that I have no idea who you are. You are a being my father has yet to create," Samael said.

Chloe almost laughed because in a way, it didn't make sense. Of course, in so many other ways it didn't make sense. Time travel was supposed to be impossible. Then again, the concept of God had been impossible to her before yesterday. And unless she truly was having a breakdown, he was real. It would explain God having no knowledge of humans and Lucifer not remembering her. If it was true they hadn't met yet. If it was true, she was pretty certain he hadn't become the Devil yet. "You're telling me I've been thrust back into a time before my race was even created?"

"I don't know. I will have to speak to my father about it. As far as I know, no one has ever traveled in time before," Samael said, still in shock.

"Great. It looks like I'm special. Although I'm not giving up on the theory that I'm losing my mind yet."

"I need to go inform my father of this," Samael said before he turned to walk away.

"No. Please don't leave, Lucifer," Chloe begged. She was freaking out. Lucifer was the only thing that made sense to her in this entire situation. She didn't want him to leave.

"I'll come back, I promise, but I need to speak to my father in order to figure this out," Samael told her. When she didn't say anything more to stop him, he walked away
