The crew of El Bravo were right near the pirate ship of Bonnie Bones...

Santiago: Mateys, were almost to Bonnie's ship!

Tomas: I'm very nervous. What if Bonnie has a very good booby trap on her ship this time, that none of us were expecting?

Lorelai: (laughs) Then we'll find a way to get out of it, Tomas. Bonnie's traps never stopped us before. Isn't that right, Santi?

Santiago: That's correct. Now, I'm gonna swing over to Bonnie's ship, take her by surprise, and get back the treasure.

The pirate protector grabbed a rope, then swing over to the pirate girl's ship. When he landed. he had his sword out, in case Bonnie decided to try something tricky. But, to his surprise, Santiago saw Bonnie, while still focused on steering her ship, also staring sadly at a picture she had by it...

Santiago: (with concern) Bonnie?

The pirate girl immediately noticed, gasped, and had got out her sword to fight...

Bonnie: Arrgh, Santi, you think I wouldn't plan anything in case you showed up?!

She and the pirate protector sword fought, until she got her pirate cats to release a cage to trap Santiago by the side of the boat...

Bonnie: (laughs) I knew you'd come here, so I set a cage to trap you in, in the very case that you and your goody-good crew would try to get the treasure back!

Santiago: Bonnie, I just saw you looking at a picture.

Bonnie: (become immediately shocked, and flustered) I don't know what you're talking about!

Santiago: You looked very sad. Is there something wrong?

Bonnie. defiant, asked him in anger, 'Why do you care?'

Santiago: Because it's Christmas. Everyone has a reason to be happy, but even though you've got the treasure, it looks like something else is bothering you. I'd like to help you, but I can't until you tell me what it is.

Normally, Bonnie would taunt Santiago for being a goody-good pirate, and believes she trying to trick her to get the treasure chest back, but she just wasn't up to it this time. Sighing, she showed Santiago her picture...

Santiago: (astonished) Wow, Bonnie, is that your familia? (Family)

Bonnie: (nods) Yes, Santi. That's my familia. Those are my parents, Bella and Jose, and my little brother, Clyde. He's so cute. I remember my Mami and Papi cooking my favorite meal every Christmas: hot tamales and chocolate cake with vanilla cream. (reminisces, and chuckles softly)

Santiago: Bonnie, why don't you just go visit your familia for the holidays?

Bonnie: (sighs) I wish that were the case, Santi. Unfortunately, I've been estranged from them for over 2 years. You see, I came from a family of bandits, and my parents had trained me to be one as well. However, I wanted to be a pirate instead, because, who wouldn't want to sail across the ocean, see different places, and in my opinion, get lots of treasure?! (laughs briefly before resuming her sad look) Anyway, I told my family that I wanted to be a pirate rather than a bandit. While Clyde was supportive of me, unfortunately, my parents weren't. We had a big argument about it. It had come to losing my temper, where I lashed out at them, and ran away. Since that day, I haven't seen my family since. (points of the treasure chest) Some of the gold there, I was planning to send to my family, even though I haven't spoken to my parents because of that fight. This is one of the few times I'm generous. Anyway, Clyde continued to send me letters, and I tell him about my adventures sailing the sea. We also have our own secret code on our letters whenever we write to each other. I write that code, and he also responds with it whenever he writes back to me.

Even though she was his and his crew's rival, Santiago actually felt sorry for Bonnie is this situation...

Santiago: Bonnie, this must have been hard for you. Family and friends are what the true meaning of Christmas is.

Bonnie: (suspiciously) What, what do you mean by that?

Santiago: I mean, while getting presents and treasure are a part of the holiday, being with family and friends are the most important thing of all.

For once, Bonnie looked at Santiago curiously, and replied, 'I found Sir Butterscotch while I was digging for treasure on an abandoned island. I took him along with me, and then he became my pet crow and matey. Is Butterscotch familia to me?

Santiago: Of course, Bonnie, with Sir Butterscotch, and your pirate cats by your side, you're not alone. It doesn't matter who you're with whenever it's people or pets.

As Bonnie was reflecting on that, Tomas, Lorelai, and Tina then had gotten on her ship, and were ready to stop her...
