So far you guys seem to be enjoying this fic so far. It is good to see you guys invested in this. :)

I do not own Thomas the Tank/Thomas & Friends or I would have kept them in their models forms.

Henry was getting his engine ready for today's work as he was assigned to take the express today.

Gordon of course was annoyed by this as he didn't want to take another goods train. Especially after getting stuck on that hill and Thomas got his payback for him dragging him on a ride by teasing him about it. Henry had also joined in on the teasing too annoying Gordon even more.

Gordon saw Henry had finished giving his engine a new coat of paint and he knew how much Henry loved his green paint with red strips, so he decided to tease him just a bit for a bit of payback for teasing him.

"Hey, Henry you should be careful today." He called out and Henry looked back confused by this.

"Why?"

"Oh, it will be raining today and you wouldn't want your green paint to wear off to show the old blue paint under it." Gordon smirked before walking off not seeing Henry was fuming.

When Henry first arrived on Sodor with his Mixed Traffic Engine its original paint was blue with red stripes exactly like Gordon's and Edward's. People had confused his engine so many times with theirs, especially Gordon's which infuriated Henry when he would be late or did something which made some people say he was the lesser Gordon.

At first it didn't bother him, but over time it would infuriate him to the point he eventually he had enough and repainted his engine green to stop the confusion and comparisons. He thought he had gotten over those times…

But clearly he wasn't…

Henry was still fuming greatly as he pulled the express down the tracks and just as predicted the rain bucketed down, bucketing down hard. The unpleasant thoughts and memories of those early days of the comparisons played over and over in Henry's head unstop making him even crosser.

Eventually he had enough as he reached his breaking point and he saw the Tunnels that were past Tidmouht Station up ahead making gun for it. As he started going through it and he slammed the breaks on hard bringing his engine to a screeching halt inside it.

The passengers inside the coaches were all surprised by the sudden halt and one of them was Sir Topham Hatt himself who was surprised too.

The Guard had gotten out of the guard coach and had come over to the cab to find out what's wrong. He only saw a really fuming Henry who was steaming hot, no pun intended.

Sir Topham Hatt had come over and demanded what was wrong.

"It's Henry, he refuses to move and seems to be a bad mood about something." Answered the Guard and Sir Topham Hatt sighed annoyed. He swears these big engine drivers had been a real pain in a certain area ever since coming here, but they were needed so he had accepted they would be a pain.

He started speaking with Henry trying to get the engine started, but Henry blatantly told him he wasn't going to let the rain spoil his green paint.

This went back and forth between the two while the passengers shouted at Henry while he argued with Sir Topham Hatt. Eventually Thomas had showed up with his engine after he was called in to help the train. He came up behind Henry's train and started pushing to try to push Henry out of the tunnel, but his little engine was no match for the weight of Henry's bigger engine along with the express coaches.

When that failed Thomas had pulled up in front of Henry's engine and tried to pull him out. Again, with the same result as he had no chance of getting Henry out of the tunnel.

Eventually Sir Topham Hatt had enough of this mess.

"Henry for your blatant disregard of the passengers because of your personal pride you can considered yourself suspended until further notice and without pay." He said angrily and that made Henry look shocked snapping him out of his own anger. "And seeing you want have your engine stay in the tunnel than fine it shall…for always." He said firmly and Henry was now sadden as he realised what that meant.

As the passengers managed to a ride back on a bus and all them had some choice words for Henry as they left. Meanwhile, Henry watched on sadly as he saw workmen start blocking off the tunnel and slowly brick by brick his engine disappeared from sight.

"Now get back to the house and stay there until I call for you, Hopefully while you wait you will learn to not your bloody personal pride get in the way of professionalism again." Sir Topham Hatt said angrily to Henry before leaving him alone there as he too took the bus back.

Henry stood there in shame & sadness as he realised what he had done and now could only stare at the now blocked off tunnel of where his engine was sealed up with tears down his face.

He wished now he didn't let his damn personal pride get to him.

He managed to a get ride back with a passing by Edward and though Edward felt sorry for him as he could see Henry truly was sorry what he did, but he still lectured him for letting his vanity caused such a problem all the while Henry hung his head low as the consequences hit him hard.

Once he got back to the bunkhouse news of what had happened had spread and Thomas was sympathetic to Henry too once he heard it. He could see Henry was terribly sorry and tried to comfort the taller driver however he could. While Gordon said nothing, though deep inside he did feel a little guilty as he didn't mean for this to happen though he would never say it out loud so he just looked on with a blank stare hiding his guilt.

Overtime soot and dirt from the tunnel had ruined Number 3's paintjob anyway while Henry now sat at home sad for what he had done. He hoped maybe one day he could convince Sir Topham Hatt to let his engine let out and try to make it up to him for what he did, but until than he now has to live with consequences for what he did.

I think he got what was coming, don't you?

A bit short, but I liked the results as I wanted to show the reason why Henry wouldn't want his paint job ruined.

Hope you guys you enjoyed :)
