Next chapter coming up right now.

I do not own Thomas the Tank/Thomas & Friends or I would have kept them in their models forms.

Autumn had come to the Island of Sodor and this was Thomas's first Autumn here.

Work wasn't as busy as it was during the Summer which the drivers enjoyed this chance of less stress on them.

One day Thomas was taking his last passenger train for day and had stopped at a signal box near a field. Thomas stretched his shoulders as he looked out the side of his engine's cab to the farm nearby and saw an orange tracker ploughing the fields there. The man that drove it was a burly man with short black hair tucked under an orange cap.

The man drove near Thomas and had noticed his presence when he stopped for a quick break. He smiled at Thomas kindly before speaking. "Hello, never met you before. I am Terence." He said very kindly and politely which Thomas couldn't help, but smile back at him while replying back. "I'm Thomas."

Thomas looked at the tracker's wheels and raised his brow at them. "Not exactly the best-looking things they are." He joked looking at the tracker's wheels and Terence chuckled at that. "Yeah I admit these caterpillar wheels aren't exactly good to look at, but they allow me to take my tracker wherever I need to go."

Thomas nods at that impressed before he saw the signal move signalling him to proceed on and he waved to Terence before heading on. He already can tell Terence was a nice guy and can become friends with him easily.

As time went on Winter soon came and blanketed Sodor with snow. This made work on the lines a little harder as some lines were covered in snow making it hard to move through.

Sir Topham Hatt had gotten snowploughs for the drivers to use on their engines to help them out with the work.

Thomas especially needed a snowplough as his branchline ran through many valleys and snow heavy places so he need one to help his work out. Edward him about snow seeing this was Thomas's first winter here and Thomas saw what he meant, he was glad to get a snowplough. Though he noticed the troubles with a snowplough comes with, it is heavy and clanks around a lot, but he just worked with it.

However, one day as he was running down his line he accidently hit a rock with his snowplough and when he got it back to Knapford he could see it was badly damage.

The next morning came and both Annie & Clarabelle both had school off waited for Thomas in his engine, but Thomas was more concern about the snowplough.

The head mechanic Franklin who was a tall man with brown hair and wore the Sodor mechanic uniform worked hard on the snowplough with his fellow mechanics. He shook his head and looked at Thomas who looked on concerned.

"I'm sorry Thomas, but I'm afraid it won't be ready for work today. You will have to go without." He said sighing and Thomas sighed too, but nods. "Hopefully the snow isn't bad today. I will make sure to keep an eye out for huge drifts." Thomas said before hopping into Number 1's cap and headed over to the station to collect his coaches.

As he coupled up to the coaches he noticed how the snow wasn't too bad around the station, but he knew it would be heavier out in the valleys.

He picked up his passengers from Tidmouth and begun his run up his branchline, but just as he expected and worried about, the snow had gone much heavier as they ventured further away from civilisation.

"Wow the snow is really thick here." Annie said looking out of the cab as she saw all the snow that was on the tracks get ploughed through by Number 1.

"I see why you need a snowplough at times." Clarabelle said looking up at her brother who nods and he was so wishing his one was repaired as he didn't like the look of all this deep snow.

And his fears was justified when they came through Heckenbeck Tunnel and suddenly they saw a huge snow drift right in front of them. Thomas braked hard, but it was too late as Number 1 went slamming into the drift and came to a sudden halt.

Thomas tried to reverse out of the snow, but they were buried too deep and wouldn't budge an inch. To make matters worse more snow started falling on top of the engine burying it more pretty much stopping any chance of getting free.

"Bugger." Thomas growled as he saw the situation they were in now and saw there was no way they could get out on their own.

He called up Knapford to let them know of the situation he was in now and they said they are on their way over.

Soon a bus pulled up to collect the passengers so they weren't stranded and both Annie & Clarabelle managed to convince Thomas they were staying to help him out.

Soon the three siblings and the workmen that had arrived start digging away at the snow to try to free the train. They also used the burning coals from Number 1's firebox to help melt the snow as they dug.

Thomas looked up when he heard something approaching through the tunnel and he was surprised to see Terence pull up with his tracker.

"Come to help pull you out as the other trains are all busy right now." He said to Thomas who nods at that and soon both men hook up the two coaches to Terence's tracker. Than Thomas uncoupled the coaches from Number 1 to make it easier for Terence seeing the engine was still stuck, but the coaches were clear of the snow.

Thomas watched as Terence pulled the coaches back through the tunnel before coming back through once they were out of the way. He hooked up to Number 1 as now it was free of the snow just enough and he starts pulling if free while Thomas reverses at the same time to make it easier. With both their combine efforts the train was now free of the snow drift.

Once on the other side of the tunnel Thomas pats Terence on the shoulder. "Thanks for that. Remind me to buy you a drink from the pub whenever you're free." He smiled at the Tracker driver who smiled back. "I will hold you to that." He replied back and both men chuckled before Trevor headed off while Thomas hooked back up to the coaches.

"Come on you two. Not much we can do today until they clear that drift out of the way." He said to both to his sisters who both nod at that and they started travelling back to Knapford.

Ever since this incident Terence and Thomas became good friends as Thomas knows if he ever finds himself in a jam against he knows he has someone like Trevor around to help him out.
