Back In The Past Time Period…
"I believe this should be it," Tae said putting a rolled-up manuscript on the table before unrolling it.
"Uh, what sort of language is this?" Fumiaki asked.
"It's an ancient written language that has been taught in my family for generations. Although I still wouldn't consider myself fully fluent in it," Tae replied.
"Even after spending some time with Tae reading them, I can only understand some words," Shin said with Fumiaki nodding in understanding their situation.
"The chaos emeralds. They have mysterious powers such as warp time and space, even giving immense power to the user. However, if you collect all seven, a miracle can be granted," Tae said at a slow pace as she did her best to understand what the scroll said. "Possess great power. Can respond to users' thoughts and grant what they want. Can be used with no contact at all sometimes," she continued.
"A miracle? Such as saving your friend, right? Isn't that great!?" Shin asked.
"Right, so where do we begin looking for these chaos emeralds?" Fumiaki asked.
"Hm, oh wait, there's something else written here," Shin said. "Important. Place," he said deciphering what he could as the text was a bit faded.
"In your life. Where bonds and trials are made," Tae continued as she read the text. "That must mean, it has to be in either of those two places," the two said.
"Which two?" Fumiaki asked.
"When thinking about our experience with the yokai, two places fit those last words. One is the house we're currently in, which is my grandma's," Tae said.
"The other must be Itsuki's house," Shin said.
"Itsuki?" Fumiaki asked.
"Oh, sorry. Itsuki was a friend of ours who fought alongside us with the yokai, but unfortunately, is no longer of this earth," Shin said sadly.
"I'm sorry for that," Fumiaki said.
"No need to apologize. First, we should check around here for it," Shin said as the three started their search in the interior house and especially every nook and cranny of the room where the yokai watch elder zero was stored.
"Guess it's not inside the house," Tae said.
"Time to look outside," Fumiaki said as the three resumed their search, but to no avail.
"Well, I guess it has to be on Itsuki's property," Shin said as the three hurried over there.
"What an impressive house," Fumiaki said.
"We had the same reaction when we first saw it," Tae said before something caught her eye. "Do you think that could be it?" she asked as the other two shifted their attention to where she was pointing at, which was a light that was somewhat clear.
"It could be if we could just get a better view of it," Shin said as the three approached the light before being stopped by a presence appearing in front of them.
"A yokai?" Fumiaki asked.
"You would be correct. My name is Kat Kraydel and it seems that this light, which is actually a chaos emerald seems to have gotten your attention? I'll make a deal with you. If you defeat me in a battle, the chaos emerald is all yours," she said.
"Wait are you serious?" Fumiaki asked.
"Of course, I can tell that it was destiny that you three even met, and now trying to accomplish something to such a high degree must mean that you three are willing to ride the winds of fate to see if your end goal and destiny will allow you to accomplish what you're seeking," Kat Kraydel responded.
"I see, well are you ready?" Shin asked to which the Tae and Fumiaki nodded. "Summoning. Light. Come on out my friends, calling Nekomata, Kappa," Shin said summoning the two yokai.
"Come on out my friends, calling Bruff, Dracunyan," Fumiaki said summoning his yokai friends.
Tae initiated the battle with a magic blast, which Kat Kraydel avoided. "Take this," Nekomata said as he unleashed a barrage of rapid punches which soon hit its mark as his opponent got caught off guard with the speed of his punches.
"Great job Nekomata. Now Kappa, we need your help too," Shin said.
"Right away," Kappa said as he unleashed a blast of water before Kat Kraydel responded with an invisible attack that blasted right through Kappa's water attack before hitting Kappa. Kat Kraydel soon threw her two spools at the yokai for another attack.
"Bruff, send them back, and Dracunyan attack from above," Fumiaki said as Bruff sent the spools back to Kat Kraydel with his iron bat to which Kat Kraydel caught them with ease before sending out an unseeable attack to Bruff for some damage. At the same time, Dracunyan jumped up before biting down at Kat Kraydel for good damage, to which Tae followed up with another magic blast hitting Kat Kraydel
"My, my. You're certainly not bad. But sometimes even the small things can make a difference," she said as if she was planning something.
"We can't lose. Let's go everyone," Fumiaki said. Only for him and everyone else to see that the yokai have started to act a bit sluggish. "What's going on?" he wondered.
"Wait is that…?" Tae asked before Kat Kraydel uses its soultimate move, enlightenment, inflicting major damage on the yokai in the form of a bright flash of light before throwing her spools for another attack
"They seem to be confused. In that case, this should cure them," Tae said before summoning a magic blast, before manipulating it into a blade-like form when throwing it. The magic soon freed the yokai from its confusion, which allowed them to avoid the second attack.
"Great job Tae. What was it that you saw to be the source of their confusion?" Shin asked.
"She was manipulating them with semi-invisible threads, be careful of them" Tae replied.
"Shin, let's try attacking at different spots this time," Fumiaki suggested.
"Alright then," Shin replied as the yokai were now using their soultimate moves.
"Mega wave," Kappa said as he brought upon a wave of water to inflict a good amount of damage before being hit by one of her spools, which then gave Bruff the opportunity to use his soultimate move, brutal butt bat, as he struck Kat Kraydel for a direct hit with his iron bat. Bruff was soon hit by her second spool which sent him back, as Kat Kraydel tried to confuse them again with her threads.
"Everyone be careful!" Tae said warning them as the four yokai avoided it this time.
"One hit-KO paw," Nekomata said attempting to finish off their opponent with his soultimate move.
"Not so fast," Kat Kraydel said using her soultimate move again as both attacks were neck in neck with each other as both sides were taking damage.
"Dracunyan, help Nekomata out," Fumiaki said.
"You got it. Big bloodsucker," Dracunyan said while using his soultimate move to drain Kat Kraydel's energy before giving it Nekomata. This bestowment of energy allowed Nekomata to edge over his opponent, causing Kat Kraydel to be knocked out.
"All right, we did it," Shin said.
"Whew, that was a fun game," Kat Kraydel said. "As part of the deal, you may have this chaos emerald. Hope you use it well," she said before disappearing.
This chaos emerald shone in a yellow hue, to which Fumiaki held it. "Now we can finally use it. Remember, it can sense your thoughts, so think about what is that we need to do," Tae said.
"Right," Fumiaki responded before concentrating his thoughts. Soon, the group was surrounded by a yellow light before vanishing.
