Next chapter coming up right now.
I do not own Thomas the Tank/Thomas & Friends or I would have kept them in their models forms.
It had a few days since Gordon, Henry & James were suspended from work and the entire they were stuck at the bunkhouse they were bored and miserable. They had learned their lesson very well for how they acted.
Today was just like the past few days with the three just sitting about in the bunkhouse miserably bored and just waiting for the day to be over. However, when bored with nothing to do; seconds seem like minutes, minutes like hours, hours like days and so on & so forth.
But however, today Sir Topham Hatt has shown up and saw the three drivers in their misery.
"I see you three are taking your punishment well." He said firmly and the three drivers nodded when they noticed him. They knew better than to make him mad right now seeing they wished to not be punished more. "Now I am hoping you three realised that Tender Engines do shunt and do more than just take train out. Tender Engine Drivers are not above Tank Engine Drivers. You all are train drivers and employees under contract to me and I will stand for such ridiculous behaviour on my railway. While you three were 'locked up' Edward, Thomas and Percy handled all your work and despite having the same overworked situation you three were in, they did no complained once and did your jobs very well. Also, if you got a problem do not think you need to take matters into your hands in the way you three did it, you come and inform me about the situation. Do I make myself clear?" He said all that sternly and firmly with no room for arguments or complaints from the three. The three drivers nod their heads fully realising the mistake they done and vowed to do better than how they acted.
"Good. Now off to work you three seeing those three did such a good job with your jobs, I want you to take this as a challenge to improve on your behaviours and try to see if you can do better." Sir Topham Hatt said now easing up and now encouraged the three and smiled when he saw the three drivers grin accepting that 'challenge' before they headed off to get their engines ready
Not long after he had gathered Thomas, Percy and Edward to informed of the great job the three have done and rewards by giving them the day off to go relax and have fun.
The three decided to go to the beach with Annie and Clarabelle to relax and have fun. Annie and Clarabelle had already taken a liking to Percy treating him like a brother as his mischievous ways always made them laugh.
The next day the three were back at work with Thomas off running his branchline while Edward showed Percy some last few things to handle before he headed back to run his branchline.
Percy had since than been handling being a Station Pilot well, but was allowed to handle other jobs too seeing Gordon, Henry and James handled any shunting jobs now without complaints, allowing Percy to handle other jobs given to him.
Though Percy was still new and had made a few mistakes once in a while, but was learning and learned how to not make them.
Doesn't mean he wasn't completely done making one at least once.
One day Percy had brought some trucks to a siding out of the way along the main line and was on his way back to Knapford.
He came to a stop at a Signal and waited for the Signalman to change the points so he can continue down back to Knapford, but he made one crucial mistake…he didn't whistle to let the Signalman know he was there which was something Edward told him to always do.
He waited and waited, but the points weren't changed and he started wondering what was wrong. He leaned out of the cab to shoutout…only to see Gordon come rushing down the track he was on.
Gordon in shock and surprise of seeing Percy in front of him slams on the brakes hard, but he was pulling the express behind him so the heavy coaches pushed him on. Percy shouts as he was taken by shock at the sight of Gordon come rushing at him that he accidently puts his engine into reverse. The sudden motion and the shock made Percy lose his footing and fall off his train as it raced away.
But it was thanks to that sudden reverse that it gave Gordon just enough space to stop safely or both trains would have collided headfirst with one another.
Gordon came rushing out of his engine to the down Percy. "Percy you alright?" He asked worried seeing he might act egotistical and like he is better than everyone, he still cares about them and all he knew Percy could have had a broken bone or something.
"Yeah…I'm good." Percy groaned a bit as he accepted the hand from Gordon to pull him to his feet. "But we got to hurry and catch up to my engine."
Gordon nods and explains to the Signalman than to his passengers of the situation and everyone understood what they got to do. Gordon uncoupled himself from his coaches and after Percy got onto his train they raced off down the line following word where they heard Number 6 had passed.
They soon raced up Gordon's hill and then reached Maron where they saw to their relief that Number 6 was in a siding in a big pile of dirt that was placed there until the buffers that would have been there were fixed.
They pulled off to the siding in front of Number 6 where they saw Marcus already there.
"Ahh Gordon good. We need your help here." He said noticing the two pulling up and gave Percy a sympathetic pat on the shoulder as he knew Percy didn't mean this to happen. Soon ropes were attached to the front of Number 4 and tied off to Number 6 as Gordon now reversed his engine slowly pulling the Tank Engine freed.
Percy gave Gordon a thumbs up and smiles as he got into his engine to get it back to Knapford to have Sir Topham Hatt take a look to see if there were any damage. Gordon returned the gestures as he reversed away so he can get back to the Express that was still at the Signals.
Since than Percy had become friends with Gordon and now sees there is more to Gordon than it seem. Now he sees why everyone puts up with him as he can see they and him are more than just fellow co-workers and friends.
They are a family.
Hoped you all enjoy and happy Easter
