Harry Norwood

Chapter 15

The great hall was dead silence. It was already weird with the head table being mostly empty but now the presence of a top figure from the ministry had everybody holding their breath. Of course people knew that Madam Bones was the aunt and guardian of Susan Bones but with everything that went one lately questions started forming in people's minds.

Madam Bones motions for Harry and his friends to follow her. The other involved members from the other houses quickly joined in. Ron wanted to follow as well but the twins pushed him back down and it looked like Grant was trying to calm him down.

Madam Bones let them into Professor sprouts office, she assured them the Professor offered it. The all sat down and Madam Bones started talking.

"I can't tell you everything but I trust you more than I trust the faculty here right now." She took a deep breath. "Dumbledore is under probation so to speak. If any more incidents happen he is out. If you happen to see anything that shouldn't be happening in a school or doesn't belong here please let me know immediately." The children nod.

"Will you find out who did it?" Hannah asked concerned.

"We are trying. I am not sure how much Harry has told you but we have an idea who placed the diary with miss Weasley. I haven't told Dumbledore about it because I don't want him meddling. Also i would like to verify that memory with miss Weasley first." Harry was wondering why she hadn't shown the memory it made sense though.

"So you want us to spy?" Susan asked.

"Of course not. I would just like to be notified if something happened. Dumbledore likes to keep to himself." The kids nodded. "Also I don't have to make it clear that non of what we talked about and what was discovered is to be talked about with others right?" It was more of a statement than a question but the children understood. They said their goodbyes and left the office.

The rest of the school year went by without much happening. Ron was still insufferable but Grant seemed to have calmed down but then again Ron always seemed to be the one initiating the problems. The Weasley twins, Fred and George, talked to the group a few times and even came to sit with them during their study group. They gave them some inside into their next year classes and which electives were worth the time. About two month after Ginny had been taken to the hospital Harry received a letter from her. She thanked him for saving her life and apologized over and over again and that she most likely will have to stay in the hospital for another month or two. This started up a steady corespondents between the two. Harry also wrote to Madame Bones occasionally asking for information about the book, wanting to know what is was and if Malfoy senior really gave it to Ginny. She didn't tell him much but she did confirmed with Ginny that she found the book inside her cauldron that same day.

In May things got exciting for Harry. As Cedric has started reviewing for his upcoming exams he was always tired. One night Harry found him passed out in the common room over his books. It got so bad that on their last practice for their last game against Gryffindor, Cedric got hit hard by a bludger right in his chest. He broke several rips, his shoulder and had some internal bleeding. Nothing that Madam Pomfrey couldn't fix but she still wouldn't let him out of the hospital wing for the game which meant Harry had to play.

To say that Harry was nervous would be an understatement. He spent as much time with Cedric, going over tactics, as madam Pomfrey let him. He was pretty angry at himself that he couldn't play but had full confidence that Harry would win this. Gryffindor and Hufflepuff were close in wins but Gryffindor had more goals which is why they needed a quick catch of the snitch whereas the Hufflepuffs needed more goals. It didn't help much that the Gryffindor seeker, Grant Potter, had a much faster broom than Harry. He was also a natural flier just like Harry according to Cedric.

The night before the match Harry couldn't sleep. He kept tossing and turning. Not even meditating worked. Eventually he did fell asleep purely out of exhaustion. At breakfast he hardly ate anything. After that the team made a quick visit to Cedric before heading off to the pitch. The entire house cheered Harry on sensing that he was nervous and his friends stayed with him until they reached the team tents.

Once the team had changed they gathered in front of the blackboard to go over their tactic one more time. The temporary captain, Olivia Leech a fourth year, gave a speech that had everybody hyped but Harry. He still felt like he was about to embarrass himself. Madam Hooch appeared to let them know the game would start any minute and that they should get ready. In formation they walked towards their entrance, Harry right at the front with the captain. Olivia squeezed his shoulder and gave him a smile before the gate opened and they all mounted their brooms.

The sunlight blinded Harry for a brief moment. He could hear loud cheering from all around him and the announcer, Lee Jordan, called their names. Harry followed his team mates to the middle of the pitch. He locked eyes with Grant Potter who nodded politely. Harry looked around. It seemed that everyone came to watch this game. Even all the teachers. He could see Professor Dumbledore in the middle of the teachers box right behind Lee Jordan. McGonagall was right next to Lee watching over him. Next to Dumbledore Harry saw some people that were almost completely decked in red and gold. One of them looked exactly like Grant just older. 'Must be his family' he thought. Madam Hooch gave a quick speech before releasing all the balls. The Snitch flew circles around both Harry and Grant before dashing off. She released the Quaffle and the game was on.

Cedric told Harry to start off by circling the pitch casually so thats what he did. Grant seemed to do the same but in the opposite direction. The game picked up quickly and after only 10 minutes both teams had scored three times. Harry tried to block out the commentator and focus on the snitch and Grant. Grant was in the middle of the pitch looking around while Harry was near the Hufflepuff goal posts. The sunlight was getting hotter and stronger with every minute. It was a rather hot day for May and not a cloud in sight. Both seekers kept on flying casually around the pitch. Just as Hufflepuff scored again, Grant shot down towards the ground like lightning. Harry followed him as quickly as possible which was hard to do since Grant had a much faster broom. When Harry was almost right behind Grant he remembered something Cedric had told him. Grant likes to trick people and do crazy stunts. He warned Harry to be careful no to fall for anything and crash. Which was what Grant did with both the other seekers. Malfoy, the Slytherin seeker, was in the hospital wing for nearly two weeks but everyone suspected that he just pretended to be injured more than he actually was.

Harry looked at Grant closer to see what he was playing at. The ground came closer and closer. Suddenly, about a meter above the ground, Grant pulled up sharply. The audience gasped and cheered in response. Harry followed suit getting even closer to the ground before pulling up. Again the crowed gasped and cheered. Grant looked annoyed and flew away but still keeping an eye on Harry. 'Two could play this game' Harry thought as he smirked before he went back to circling the pitch. Both boys kept an eye out for another. The game went on for another half an hour without much happening. It was a pretty even and friendly match. The score was now 60 to 50 for Gryffindor. Harry kept looking for the snitch but the sun light made it hard to see. Sometimes it looked like something was glistening in the distance but it turned out to be either someones glasses or a watch. He was getting frustrated. Grant was doing some tricks to tick Harry off but he knew better. There was no way he saw the snitch. More time passed and it was now 120 to 120. Either one of them had to catch the snitch soon.

Harry was right behind the Gryffindor goals when he saw something near the ground. He looked around for Grant and found him near the middle right behind him. Slowly he flew lower and lower. No one seemed to notice. When he could actually see the snitch near the grass it zoomed away to the right. Harry had to follow it. Now everyone seemed to notice. Grant was hot on his tail. The snitch moved to the far right and up. Harry and Grant right behind. The shot up right by the Hufflepuff stands nearly hitting someone. Everyones focus, minus the other players, was on them. Grant was getting closer to Harry nearly touching him. The snitch moved sideways again far above the pitch. Harry had never flown this high before. Everything looked so tiny. They shot across the pitch before the snitch moved down again. 'Why was this thing so hard to catch?' Harry wondered as he laid down even further to gain speed. They moved so fast it got hard to see for both boys. Neither one of them noticed the bludger coming towards them. Harry was still in the lead. How he had no idea. He was getting closer and closer to both the snitch and the ground. Just as he stretched his arm out to grab the snitch he heard it. SNAP. There was a loud bang and everything went quiet. Harry grabbed the snitch and turned around to see what happened. This was a big mistake as he crashed hard into the ground and everything went black.

Sorry there was quite a bit quidditch in this again. I hope some of you enjoyed it.

Hope to have some more interesting stuff in the next chapters.
