Sorry I haven't been posting school is hard :l
The next few weeks were spent rebuilding the house and making it livable again, they did it on their own because Erin was surprisingly good at mechanics and building things and Rose was good with lifting heavy boards for Erin to nail down so they didn't need a entire team to work on their house plus it would take to long for them to get to the house it was in the middle of a forest.
"Rose can you pass me that big board!" Erin yelled from her perch on the top of the roof, "I need it so the house doesn't collapse in on itself!"
Rose rolled her eye "Ok where do you want it?" she yelled back to the brown haired girl who was now sliding off the roof Rose snapped her fingers and Erin was back on the roof and the board was floating.
"Can you put it right her?" Erin yelled pointing at an open area in the r
"You want me to drop it there?" Rose asked sarcastically "Or do I leave it floating?" She floated it up she had way better things to be doing, like making a portal or researching Bill, but right now she was floating boards up to a roof while reading a book.
"There that was the last supporting beam!" Erin said wiping sweat of her forehead after she nailed in the board "Now I just need to put the actual roofing back on and we can start on the inside!"
"Well that's good do you need me to do anything right now or can I leave?" Rose asked rolling her eye "I want to go practice my powers"
Erin looked at her spiteful friend she saw her staring right back at her a look in her eye that she normally didn't see at that moment Erin new what it was, it was love. She saw it now, this is why Rose had told her that she was gay and no one else not even her parents. Rose was in love with her. She didn't know how long this had been going on but she sure wasn't going to tell Rose that she knew she would just go on her regular normal daily life. She didn't even know if she loved Rose back she would take some time alone to think about that.
"Um you can go I can finish this part on my own," Erin said finally snapping back into reality, "I just need to finish this and then maybe you could help me renovate the inside?"
"Yeah sure. I'm going to head into town were out of milk!" Rose yelled already heading down the long driveway on a cloud. She wasn't going to go into town she was going to go to the secret clearing in the woods were she found a small shack. She hid the notebook inside along with some snacks and drinks, she went there when she wanted to be alone. She wasn't lying they were out of milk but she was trying to perfect summoning stuff so she was going to try to summon the milk that they could have. Muttering spells under her breath, waving her hand, destroying the space around her. She was determined to get this down.
Meanwhile Erin had just finished the part in the roof she was working on and she was struggling to get down from the roof. The ladder had fallen and she was trying to climb down one of the wall but failing miserably and falling on her back with a thump.
"Oof!" She grunted as she hit the ground, "That is going to hurt for a while" She pushed herself to the wall so she could sit up without her back hurting. She fumbled around in her pockets for awhile before finding her phone, she called Rose "Hey Rose?" She croaked "Can you come home right now I fell of the roof trying to get down."
"Geez I leave for a second an you severely damage yourself I knew this would happen you clumsy mess," Rose laughed. Erin tried to send a scowl through the phone but only ended up making a strange growling noise. "Ok, ok gosh! I'm coming home right now I'll be there in a minuette" and a minuette later she was there. She saw Erin laying her back flat against the side of the house she looked like she was in pain. Rose rushed over to her "Ok where does it hurt? I can try to heal you but if it doesn't work I'll have to take you to the hospital."
"My back hurts and my head" Erin said pointing to each body part as she said them.
Rose nodded she put her hand over her best friends heart and concentrated which was hard because Erin just looked so cute laying there needing her but she finally got her concentration just right. They both floated up off the ground the world was black and white and time just seemed to stop in that moment. Rose could feel the magic seeping out of her into Erin's heart. Rose also knew deep down after this Erin would never be the same. The magic wrapped around Erin's heart and it exploded into the rest of her body. Rose pulled her hand back at the pain she felt coursing through it, the world's color came back and the two girls fell down Rose caught Erin before she hurt her back again. She carried her to the car and put her down on the seat. She felt her forehead she could tell Erin's breathing was normal by the slow rise and fall of her chest her forehead was burning but at least she was alive.
Rose had never done that kind of magic before it made her feel drained she laid down on the chair next to Erin and fell asleep.
When she woke up Erin wasn't next to her. It made sense because she was healed so she could move around and it was late at night and she was probably hungry. Rose opened the door Erin was sitting outside on the ground staring up at the sky.
"Hey Rose! Come look at the sky it's so pretty how come we've never looked at it before?" Erin mused not once looking away from the stars that sprinkled the sky.
Rose came and sat beside her friend and looked up too. She was right the sky was beautiful the stars shone like diamonds each one sparkling at its own beautiful pace. Even before Rose could think she grabbed Erin's hand and Erin squeezed Rose's tightly back.
"That one is Sirius!" Erin said pointing to the star that shone the brightest, "and that one over there isn't even a star that's Saturn!"
They spent the next few hours sitting like that Erin pointing out different stars while the two just drew closer together until Rose was resting her head on Erin's shoulder falling asleep listening to her friend drown on about astrology Rose didn't even know she like it that much.
"Thank you for helping me today," Erin said wrapping her arm around Rose's body "Why don't you sit up for a second and I'll get us a blanket it's getting cold!"
Rose lifted her head and Erin got up and walked towards the car. Rose's insides were squirming around inside her she had never gotten that close to Erin before in felt great, like she could just sit there forever basking in her glee with the stars.
"Rose?" Erin called from behind her "I think we should go into the car it's getting late I don't want to fall asleep out here plus we have a window that looks to the sky!" Rose nodded and got up heading into the car drowsily. She knew perfect things couldn't last forever but whatever happens next will be fine because it will still be with Erin.
