Authors Note: LGBTQIA+ in this chapter just like the last one if you don't like that then stop reading! There is also a lot more causing in the first part so if you are not comfortable with that then here is your chance to stop reading. If I just randomly post this it's because I've had writer's block and I just had an idea so don't mind that. Also in the journal entry, Bill will be referred to as "the devil".

The next morning Erin woke up with Rose laying next to her in the seat, this usually didn't happen Rose always woke up first. Erin was full of energy. She thought she should make breakfast it would be a nice surprise for her sleeping friend.

Then she remembered the night before the star gaze, oh the stars were beautiful, and she got really close to Rose, they were touching. What was she thinking? She regretted ever doing that. Will Rose think she likes her back now? Maybe she did like Rose back, this was all very confusing. She needed to sort herself out before Rose woke up.

She decided on using the grill to make some eggs and bacon, something warm on this cold morning. She got lost in thought thinking about life and what happened last night. She was so lost in thought that she didn't notice that the food was on fire until it started spreading up her arm. The wave was at her elbow before she could even realize what was going on, she jumped back wish that she hadn't gotten so lost in thought. She blew on the fire and fanned it with her hands to try and make it go down. Then just as quickly as it started it stop. The fire just disappeared. Erin was so confused, what had just happened? The evidence there used to be a fire there was still prominent, the burnt food and the burns on her arm.

Erin rushed back to the car where Rose was still sleeping peacefully. "Rose what the fuck did you do to me!?" She yelled throwing open the door.

"W-what did I do? What the hell going on?" Rose answered sleepy, "And why the hell are you so mad?"

"Your magic shit did something to me, earlier while I was cooking breakfast I accidentally burned the food and a fire started! I was waving my hands to make it go down and then it disappeared! Here I have fucking proof!" Erin yelled sticking out her arm which had the burn on it.

"Yep there's a burn," Rose said pushing the arm away from her face, "What am I supposed to do about it? I guess I could heal you again if that's what you're here for."

"No! Don't you fucking dare do magic on me right now!" Erin yelled, "Don't you have a magic journal or something you could look through to see what the hell you did to me?"

Rose just nodded, snapped her fingers and the journal was in her hand. Erin had seen a glance at a symbol that looked like one of the weird covers of Rose's records. "I'll look through this why don't you deal with your burnt arm it looks like it hurts a lot," Rose said calmly.

Erin slammed the door shut and stormed away thinking about the symbol. Was it there before? Did she just not look close enough before?

Rose looked through the journal, the pages were filled with weird things like jackalopes and centaurs but in the corner of each page, there was a little symbol each one different from the last until she found a page that might explain Erin's trauma.

Spell Casters

I am a spell caster, I have been one for a few months. You are wondering how I became one, maybe not but that's ok I will tell you anyways. I was in a lot of pain and on the verge of death when someone very dear to me did the unthinkable. They struck a deal with the devil. They asked him to heal me in exchange for letting him out of the prison we put him in. He healed me and I'm guessing he hadn't done it before because what happened after that was weird, whenever the devil did something magical I saw a pattern of shapes, a symbol if you will, come right by his hand. One day I decided to copy one of them down. I traced it with my finger to see if anything would happen, and something did I was knocked back by a large gust of wind the came out of nowhere and I was inside my house. Day after day I saw more and more of the spells popping up everywhere, In my breakfast, while I'm in the woods, when I'm in town with my friends. After a while, I just kept this journal with me wherever I went and copied down every spell I saw. Each page has a spell on it I didn't label them, but to the next spell caster that ends up with this journal maybe you can label them for me.

This was a lot of information to take in all at once but Rose thought she could break down the basics of it to Erin when she got back. Rose flipped through the rest of the pages the entry was correct there was a symbol on every new page.

"Rose, did you find anything yet?" Erin snapped from behind her.

"Oh! Yeah, I did actually!" Rose answered and Erin made a face that said "go on". Rose held up the journal, "The healing spell I did on you made you a spell caster I put magic in you to heal you it drained some of my magic at that moment but the magic I gave you will be stuck with you forever. Oh, and can you make this symbol in the air I want to know what it does!"

"Slow down your talking too fast, and if I make the symbol will you go slower?" Erin asked and Rose nodded eagerly in return. Erin rolled her eyes put her finger out and started making a triangle with her fingers, where her fingers moved a trail of forest green followed behind and when she was done making the symbol her eyes were wide in astonishment. "Ok now tap it!" Rose said. Erin did as she was told and a splash of water went straight onto Rose.

"OMG! I am so sorry!" Erin said rummaging around for a towel, "I don't even know how I did that!"

"You are I spell caster now, that is how you do spells!" Rose said snapping her fingers to summon a towel. "There are different symbols on each of the pages, they are different spells you can use. They aren't labeled so I'm thinking we should go through and label them."

As Rose flipped through the pages she did see little symbols everywhere, in the corner, in the middle, some were labeled but they were in some language that she couldn't read. Maybe there was a spell to read it. "Rose, can I see another spell?" Erin said, now she was intrigued.

"Of course, here how about this one!" Rose said pointing to a bigger one in the middle of a page. Erin nodded stuck out her finger and started making a line on both sides of it she put two circles then a line down the middle with the same two dots on it then she drew a circle around it leaving the four dots out of it. Erin was amazed at her green masterpiece she took a moment to just admire its beauty then she stuck her finger right in the center. Air shot out of the place Erin had drawn the symbol right onto Rose.

Rose didn't look as surprised as she did the last time. "Well, at least I'm dry now!" Rose said and they both were almost falling over laughing.

"Ok I get it I'm magical now and it's not that bad!" Erin said, "We could use it to our advantage when we're battling Bill. Like he asks why you brought a human girl and then I just hit him with a fire spell!" They both laugh again.

"Yeah it doesn't work like that, I can feel when something has magic in it, that's how I found the journal, and I think it would be the same for Bill," Rose said trying to hold back her laughter, "But we know what these two spells do so let's label them!" She pointed to the two spells.

The girls spent the next few hours sitting outside testing out spells though mostly the ones that were easier and didn't look like they needed two sets of hands for and labeling them.

"Erin you know what I could do?" Rose asked thoughtfully "I bet I could do this kind of magic if I wanted then we can do the hard spells!" She stuck out her finger concentrating really hard on it, she started moving it in a line a trail of pink followed, it was the color of her hair. She wrote out Erin's name and tapped it, a highlight of the same shade of pick went around her best friend.

"What did you do that for?" Erin asked after the pink went away, "I mean it barely did anything but it was still a fifty/fifty chance that spelling my name out wouldn't severely hurt me!" Rose just shrugged "I don't know it was just the first thing I thought of to do!" Erin rolled her eyes "Not one of the spells, my name was the first thing that popped into your head!" Rose just shook her head and Erin just laughed a bit.

They spent the rest of the day challenging themselves to do harder and harder spells, some of them turned out weird like one of them just made duplicates of themselves but they wern't really there they were just ilusions. It was fun and they almost got through the entire book by the time they were done and they both went to bed thinking about how weird some of the spells were.
