I do not own Thomas the Tank/Thomas & Friends or I would have kept them in their models forms.
Thomas was proud of his Engine's blue paint, he originally got it to help make Edward feel better when he wasn't able to work and now he loved his blue & red paint combo.
He would brag about it many times whenever he had the chance mostly to Percy and Toby who had gotten use to it by now.
Today was no exception as Thomas pulled up to Elsbridge ready to brag about his engine's blue colour again as usual as Percy and Toby both were there too with their engines.
"I tell you two blue is the only colour there is. No wonder it is so widespread on Sodor, blue is best." Thomas was in the middle of one of bragging rants about Number 1's colour and both Percy and Toby rolled their eyes.
"I don't think so. I like Number 7's brown paint." Toby said interrupting Thomas mid ramble and Percy chuckled at Thomas's annoyed look.
"And I like Number 6's green paint. I don't think I would want any other colour." Percy now spoke and Thomas replied in a splutter. "Oh...well…blue is the only right colour for a real useful employee." He then raced off in his engine leaving the other two drivers chuckling.
Sometime later at Tidmouth both Thomas and Percy were around the Coal filling area with Thomas was talking with a worker while Percy was getting trucks filled up with coal with Number 1 sitting nearby.
The filling was going well, but at the last truck no coal was coming out and Percy along with some workmen had noticed this. Percy had gotten out of Number 6 and stood under the shoot staring into it. He saw there was a block and soon workmen saw it too.
Percy got a long pole and rammed it up the shoot to unclog it while Thomas was still chatting with the worker. Percy gives one big hard jab and the shoot rumbles violently. "Uh oh…Argh!" Percy cries as he jumps for cover as coal just comes streaming out of the shoot and pilled on the ground in a big pile.
Luckily no one inhaled any coal dust and were all fine, though everyone was now dirty from coal dust that came off the large pile of coal that was piled on the ground under shoot. Percy coughs and dusts himself off as he stood up before seeing the mess ahead of him than saw Number 1 was now buried under the coal.
"Oh boy."
"Percy!" Thomas cried out when he saw his beloved engine in the mess it was in now as only the buffers were sticking out.
"Doesn't look useful now." Percy teased trying to lightning up the mood as workman start trying to dig Number 1 out and Thomas glared at him. "Shut up. Help me get it out." He growled at his fellow driver.
The digging out took a very long time and then after that Number 1 had to be cleaned outside and inside so there was no problems caused to it. The cleaning took so long as well to the point that Number 1 couldn't take its scheduled trains and both Toby & Percy had to handle them while Thomas could only watch on angrily.
Later that night at the Fraquhar Branchline bunkhouse, where three were mostly staying at the moment because a new main bunkhouse for the drivers was being built at Tidmouth while the Knapford one was getting remade, both Thomas and Percy had gotten into a pretty bad argument about the coal incident with Thomas accusing Percy of dumping the coal on purpose and Percy calling Thomas a disgrace. Toby had to play peacekeeper and stop the two from throwing fists at each other, luckily they didn't as they both stomped off and went to their respective beds for the night.
The next morning both Thomas and Percy were still cross at each other refusing to speak at one another even during work.
Thomas was waiting at Tidmouth with his Orange Coaches when Percy came to the station pulling in a train of Trucks fill with coal. Percy and Thomas both refused to look at each though Percy was more concerned about his engine as its water tank was nearly out and need to be filled up.
He saw the water tower on a nearby siding and he moves his engine over there, but he was in such a hurry to fill up his engine he forgot to uncouple Number 6 from the trucks he had. Thomas looked over to see the mistake Percy made and knew this wasn't going to end well especially since that siding Percy was moving into the buffers needed work on them as they weren't sturdy.
"Um Percy you might want to…" Thomas started calling out forgetting he wasn't talking to Percy, but wanted to warn him…but it was too late. Percy soon realised his mistake as he had turned his engine off to allow it crawl to a stop to the water tower without using his brakes, but he soon remember the trucks he had on and the momentum from them made him push through the weak buffers.
He soon went down a little ditch where all the coal that was accidently spilled out the day before was moved too and soon Number 6 landed in it.
Percy coughed as he hopped out of his engine and ruffled his hair to get the coal dust out of it. He soon looked at Number 6 and sighed at the sight before seeing Thomas come over.
"Percy…we can both agree to be much more careful around coal from now on." Thomas said standing next to Percy as they both looked at Number 6.
"Agreed Thomas…could you help me get my engine out?"
"You helped me get my engine out so I will help you." Thomas said smiling as he patted his best friend's back as he realised it was pretty dumb to be mad at him over an accident. Percy smiled back as he had the same thought before both engine went to work of moving Number 6 back onto the rails.
Since than both Thomas and Percy were back at being best friends and both agreed to be more careful around coal in the future.
Sorry for the late chapter, work was very busy and then Christmas came up along with some personal life stuff. I just didn't have the time to work on this chapter until now.
Hope you all enjoyed.
