As the room started to clear out, Blaine noticed two figures pushing through the crowds towards him: his parents. "My boy, when we received the letter from the king this morning, it was hard to believe!" His father said.

"Are you alright?" His mother asked.

"I'm…" Blaine hesitated, not really sure how to put anything into words, as he tried to hold back the tears threatening to fall. "I'm working on it. His Majesty has invited us three to join him, and the prince in the dining hall. We mustn't keep them waiting."

"Right, lead on my boy." His father said. He led his parents from the court room to the dining hall where Gerald was standing at the door.

"The King is expecting you."

"Thank you, Gerald." With that, the door opened to see both the king and prince pacing opposite one another, until the sound of the door opening stopped them both.

"Ah, Blaine. And these must be your parents?"

"Your Majesty, it is an honour to be in your presence." Blaine's mother bowed, as did her husband.

"No need for formalities." The king said and walked over to Blaine and placed his large hand on Blaine's shoulder. "Are you alright?"

"I'm getting there, Sire. It's been a few mixed up days." The king roared with laughter.

"I suppose it has, well, know that the crown is always, always, on your side."

"Thank you, Your Majesty, I know I can never repay your kindness, but I will try with my life."

"Blaine." Kurt said as he approached the small group.

"Thank you for everything, Your Highness." Blaine bowed his head to Kurt.

"Yes, thank you both for everything you have done for our son, we can never repay you." Blaine's mother said.

"You needn't try." The king began, "We stand by our people, especially those wronged in a heinous way."

"Your Majesty," Gerald stepped into the room and began, "lunch is ready."

"Ah, brilliant," then the king turned back to Blaine and his parents, "Join us, will you?"

"We mustn't impose." Blaine's father began.

"There is no imposition, we had lunch planned for the five of us. Please, sit." The table had been set with the king and prince on either end of the table, and Blaine's parents directly across from him.

The meal was mostly silent, which calmed Blaine, that is until his mother looked up at him and said, "When did you start seeing someone and why have you not told me?"

Blaine chocked causing him to cough and needed to get a drink from his goblet. "Well… Uh… You see mother… I… Uh…"

"Yes?" His mother lead on.

"Well, you see mother, it's all quite new, I'm not sure one could actually say I'm seeing someone rather that I'm getting to know someone."

"Really?" Kurt asked, drawing all the attention to him at the end of the table. "That's not the gossip I've heard." He gave Blaine a smirk when all eyes, except for the King's, returned back to Blaine. The King however gave Kurt a look that said why do you have to tease the poor boy?

"Well then, Your Highness, perhaps the gossip mill is just that, gossip." That shut Kurt up quick, Kurt understood the subtle notion that if he were to continue with the teasing, they would just be gossip and nothing more.

"Fine then, you will tell us before you marry though?"

It was then that the king interjected by clearing his throat, "Perhaps it would do well not to put the boy in the hot seat, given what's just happened."

"Thank you, Your Majesty." Blaine gave him a small smile.
