Chapter 18

Itadori never ceases to amaze him. At the same time, how the hell did he just converse with Mahorage with such ease and appear to understand it as well!? But it's no matter; at the moment he has to face this blond jackass who wants his friend for his own greed. He won't let that happen.

"Then begin!" Kitsune called.

Before he could make a move. Megumi felt a firm hand come on to his shoulder. He turned and saw Mahorage staring straight ahead but his body turning to mist… "Wait… are you…" he became surrounded in the fog and then pulled into it…

"Oh shit…" Suiryu whispered.

"What… what's happening? Is Fushiguro…" Nobara began to ask, but then, the fog became solid, Fushiguro was no longer seen, but merged into Mahorage! The combined forces gave the summons Fushiguro's hair and small arms from the front of his body, the small arms were armed with swords but its sights didn't set for Adonis, they turned to the wyvern. It was like a flash as they sprinted towards the beast, the attacks though, Suiryu found odd.

"What the hell…" Suiryu kept a close eye on everything, in fact, he squatted on the ground and stared on with fascination. Despite the easy strikes it could do against the beast, they weren't aiming for weak points, as well, there was something more going on here. Adonis wasn't the only divine user attacking, those who brought in the beast were also attacking. "What the fuck is this, Kitsune! This has to be against the rules!" he protested. "Those assholes are attacking too!"

However she was silent on the matter, perhaps she cannot speak of this. But also, feasibly it's the rule that was set into place as well. It's a summoner's battle… then it hit him. "Fuck, they just tricked us didn't they?!" he protested.

"What do you mean?" asked Nobara.

"It's a summoner's battle, meaning those who can summon are able to fight… every divine user is a summoner" he muttered bitterly.

Everyone paused, yet the only one not worried was Yuuji. Instead, he watched on with the biggest grin on his face until…

SNAP!

A massive chain fell off. Adonis froze realizing now the plan of Fushiguro and the summons. They weren't aiming to harm the beast… but liberating it! "Impossible! You cannot break our chains! That's not possible for curse energy users!" Adonis shouted.

Suiryu then remembered. Mahorage has positive energy abilities too, it's not all curse energy! "That son of a bitch…" he whispered but snickered.

SNAP

Another chain.

In less than ten minutes, the wyvern was liberated, there were more than enough chains take off. It shook away those it was still bounded too before taking flight and leaving the battle. When that happened, Suiryu assumed it was over. "Call it" he said to Kitsune.

But once more she had yet to announce a winner. "All from one side must be taken out to call the contest." She said. "Adonis and those bounded to the wyvern are still able to fight."

"Sixty one on two!?" he demanded. "How the hell is that fair!" stated Nobara.

"Yuuji!" Suiryu shouted.

But he had that smile still and bore a 'wait and see' look. Suiryu didn't understand it until he got to his side. "Yuuji, it's a lot for him to contend with, his curse energy…"

Yuuji started to write something down before he passed it to Suiryu. 'Don't say this out loud, keep that expression on your face. Remember, Fushiguro didn't summon him, Mahorage was called upon by the rules of the contest. Second, Fushiguro wasn't the one who did the shadow possession. Third, he and Mahorage are working together collectively… just wait and see.'

Suiryu froze to the discovery. Yuuji was right, Fushiguro did not use his own curse energy to call upon Mahorage! But still, sixty-one against one in a sense?

Adonis was grinning from ear to ear. "This won't take long now, will it? We will make sure we defeat you quickly before taking the dragon…"

Suddenly, a smile came over the fusion. The massive hands on Mahorage suddenly made a symbol, then Fushiguro's hands followed. A demonic voice came out of the creature before them. "Domain… expansion…"

The world became dark, pitch black almost, but that wasn't the startling part. The shikigami Fushiguro had under his command materialized from the shadows. At first they appeared to be stalking their prey, until they drifted deep into the inky, black water that made the ground. When they emerged once more, the beasts suddenly transformed, and walk on two feet before taking on a humanoid appearance. The wolves appeared like warriors, the elephant a massive tank warrior, toad, a powerful sumo wrestler, Nue an archer.

"Oh… my… God…" Suiryu whispered. "This… this is the ultimate…"

The divine users weren't looking so confident now. Especially since the wolf pack alone had over 40 members.

Adonis himself appeared terrified, they are trapped in a domain, guaranteed to land a hit. The twisted grin grew on the fusion before it said. "Go…"

It was over nearly instantly.

Their strength too much to overcome, their summons too weak against the shikigami. In the end, they were knocked back and down for good measures. The sword of Mahorage came to the throat of Leo Adonis who was on his back and left with no other option. Two other swords aimed for his heart for good measures. "This is over," called Kitsune. "VICTOR MEGUMI FUSHIGURO AND THE HONORABLE MAHORAGE!" she called.

The domain was released, Fushiguro separated from Mahorage, but not before paying proper respects before the unsummoning. He lowered his head to the great shikigami. "Thank you for lending me your power," he said with great sincerity.

Mahorage stared down upon him for a moment. Incoherent words were spoken before it vanished into the shadow under Megumi's feet.

"What the hell…" he whispered to himself. He never felt anything like it before, and yet the power of that one summons was able to affect all under his command. It was remarkable.

He turned to his friends, Yuuji was smiling at him with great pride as he rushed towards him and pulled Megumi into a hug. "Seriously, wait until those jackasses leave…" he muttered.

Kitsune was quick to approach as Adonis got to his feet. "That… that's cheating!" he declared.

"How?" Kitsune demanded. "You made the rules of this, and even stated that it would be his most powerful summons to be used in battle, you are aware of the great Mahorage, so why are you so surprised?"

He pointed to Yuuji. "The dragon interfered!" he protested. "He should NOT have interfered!"

"How?" demanded Kitsune once more. "Did he infuse his power into his champion? No, he is unable to. Did he give anything to the summons? No, no power was transferred. There was no cheating."

"What was said between him and the summons, he cheated that way!"

Suiryu snickered, before he broke out into a fit of evil laughter. "Kufufufufu! HAHAHA!" he roared with glee. "What a sore loser you are!"

Kitsune nodded in agreement. "There is only one other option for you to obtain the dragon now." She said and grinned. "That's to fight the current guardians"

Suiryu and Choso stepped forward, both calling upon the dragon blessing they have. Choso's marks began to glow oddly enough as did Suiryu's they became a gold color as they stood at the ready. "Bring it on!" Suiryu shouted.

"Indeed, if you wish to obtain my brother, you go through the oldest to do so… as Suiryu said, bring it…" said Choso.

Adonis sneered. "This is pointless… we retreat!" he called, but paused when he realized his men… were dead.

"Wait, you… you slaughtered them!"

Suiryu smirked. "No, you killed them." He said. "You had them use all their divine energy to restrain a wyvern. When the chains snapped, well… it was a shock to their system, when the domain went up, they couldn't collect more divine energy… next time, don't drag them into your fight. Their deaths are on your head. Not ours."

Adonis trembled but was quick to flee.

Kitsune was kind enough to remove the bodies, a wave of her fan and they were set ablaze with foxfire. Her sights then turned to the councilmen who have since gone pale in the face. "Now… who brought them here?" she asked as she began to brandish her fan in her palms. "I do have a few words for you…"
