Chapter 8: Learn To Become Santa's Helper

It was a day before Toy Day, there was a brown deer with sandy antlers, which they looked exactly like the moose's antlers, and wore a comfy sweater. The male deer's name was Erik who was planning to camp in the island of Triforce. He was watching the video on his smartphone, and the video was called "How To Become Santa's Helper." The video taught him how to make toys, wrap them into a nice gift, put them into Santa's bag, and set up the sleigh before taking off.

"Ah, just imagine that I will become Santa's helper someday, chow down," said Erik proudly. "That way, I will learn the ways to become one so my dream will come true eventually!"

In the shadow realm, Solomon and Viridian were searching for the other dreamers who possessed and held the dream life forces. Until Solomon found one, he started to grin and showed off the picture to the vampire demon.

"I'm going to choose this one!" Solomon exclaimed, as the picture revealed to be the brown deer with the moose-like antlers.

"That weird-looking deer?" Viridian grimaced, tilting her head. "He may not look special, but do you believe that he holds the dream life force?"

"Of course, he does! What else?"

While Solomon and Viridian were talking, there was a black bat with red eyes flying in the air. The two demons looked at Noir who was landing on the table.

"Ah, Demonic Nightmare Squad, how is the main mission going so far?" Noir asked.

"It's going along very smoothly, Noir, we stole the dream life forces from the dreamers!" Solomon explained.

"Exactly, but there is a downside at this point..." Viridian added.

"And what is the downside?" Noir frowned.

"Well, you see, the downside is that the nightmare monsters returned back to their goody, normal selves!"

"I see...But at least, we collected the dream life forces though."

"That is true indeed," said Solomon.

In the island of Triforce, Vicki and Robert were heading to the campsite to meet Erik. Just like last time, one of them flipped the coin to see who would visit him first.

"Oh, I'll call for heads this time!" said Vicki in triumph.

After Robert flipped the coin, he revealed the coin face up and grimaced. Since Vicki called the shots, she entered the tent right away while he was on guard. She noticed that Erik was building something while he was looking at his smartphone. Few seconds later, the deer immediately saw Vicki entering his tent.

"Oh, hi there, Vicki," said Erik. "How's your day going, chow down?"

"Hi Erik, it's going very well!" Vicki replied. "What are you doing?"

"Oh, I was just creating a toy; it was just for practice, chow down."

"Ah, so that's what you've been doing."

"That's right! My dream is to become Santa's helper!"

"R-Really now? My, if only Jingle is here, he'll take you up as his apprentice!"

"That's probably so, chow down."

Outside of the tent, Robert was warming up his hands in front of the campfire. Suddenly, he felt someone tapping his right shoulder firmly. He thought it was Vicki who was done chatting with Erik so soon. But instead, he saw Sammy and Jimmy who were standing right behind him after he immediately turned around.

"Oh boy, this is a rare sight..." Robert muttered, as he rolled his eyes.

"I'm sorry, what was that?" Sammy asked.

"Er, it's nothing that concerns any of you! What do you two want anyways?"

"What about you tell us instead, Goldstein?"

"Yeah, you tell us!" Jimmy repeated.

Robert sighed in desperation. "Oh, why does it have to be me?"

Few minutes later, Vicki left the tent after she was chatting with Erik. She noticed that Robert wasn't here on guard when she was about to let him know if he wanted to see the deer camper. Suddenly, she ran into Sammy and Jimmy while she was looking for Robert.

"If you're looking for your lover boy, he's hanging by the tree," Sammy pointed out.

"Okay, what did you two do to him this time?" Vicki asked.

"Why not go see for yourself after you crossed the bridge?" Jimmy suggested.

Vicki wasn't very sure whether the twins were telling her the truth or not. She went to see for herself while they were heading to the campsite to meet Erik. After Vicki crossed the bridge, she was searching for Robert somewhere around one of those trees. Until she found someone dressed up like a reindeer with the red nose, she was taking a closer look and realized who that was. It was Robert who was tied down to the tree while he was dressing up as a red-nosed reindeer.

"Uh, um, Robert, w-w-what just happened here?" Vicki asked, as she was being dumbfounded and blinked her eyes in confusion.

"I-I can't really answer to your question..." Robert answered, gritting his teeth. "J-Just hurry up and untie me before I ended up being embarrassed in front of the residents!" Vicki was hesitated that she tried to speak up, but she just couldn't. "Will you quit standing there like a helpless animal and do as I say already? Come on!"

"Ah, r-right!" Vicki quickly untied Robert before he removed his red nose and the reindeer hood.

After Robert removed the reindeer costume in the changing room, he immediately got out of here furiously. He decided to give the reindeer set to Vicki instead.

"Here, you can take them if you want," said Robert coolly, as he handed the reindeer set to Vicki. "I believe they will suit you well since they're not my taste."

"U-Um, okay, thank you?" said Vicki hesitantly. "But Robert, there's one thing I don't understand is that why do you have to wear those things? Did Sammy and Jimmy made you wear them?"

"Yes, they did! And I refused to talk about it, okay?"

Vicki could tell that Robert was furious about his own situation with Sammy and Jimmy. Whatever the reason they forced him to dress up like a reindeer, they'd probably either ruined his reputation as the island representative or wanted to show off to the other residents in order to make fun of him for their revenge. She immediately shook that thought off and changed the subject.

"Anyways, I met the camper named Erik," said Vicki. "And guess what his dream was like?"

"Uh, do you mean he dreamed of becoming Santa's helper?" Robert suggested, as he made a guess.

"That's right! He's the one that Luna told us to protect him from the evil organization. So, let's go see Erik now, shall we?"

Robert nodded, as he and Vicki were heading back to the campsite to see Erik.

Meanwhile, Sammy and Jimmy were chatting with the deer camper, Erik. They had gotten really bored while he was discussing about his dream to become Santa's helper. Few seconds later, Sammy quickly cut him off and started making up an excuse.

"Er, it's very nice to hear your dream and all..." Sammy interrupted. "But I think my little brother and I are in a big hurry right now!"

"Y-Yeah, that's right!" Jimmy agreed, after Sammy slapped his shoulder behind. "We're better be going now. Bye!"

After Sammy and Jimmy left the tent, they ran into an unfamiliar stranger who wanted to see the camper. The twins started to say the rude things to the stranger, but he didn't falter at all. All he ever did were to stare and grin at them without a care in the world. Suddenly, he changed into his demon form that made them grow in fear. Standing in front of them was none other than the reptile demon, Solomon.

"So, who wants a piece of the reptile demon, eh?" Solomon asked, while Sammy and Jimmy started to scream and run away from him as they could. "Ha! And this is what you get for messing with me, you cowardly blockheads!"

Once Vicki and Robert had reached the campsite, they heard someone screaming. When they saw of who that was, they started to frown and roll their eyes at the same time.

"M-M-Monster!" Sammy yelled, as he ran between Vicki and Robert. "Run away!"

"Yeah, run away!" Jimmy screamed, as he did the same thing.

"If they said 'monster,' then that must mean...!" Robert suggested, as his expression turned grave. "Oh no, Vicki, we have to transform now!"

"Right!" Vicki nodded boldly.

Solomon immediately left the tent and got the dream life force from Erik. Suddenly, the feathered-hat appeared out of nowhere and aimed directly at him. He quickly dodged it, but the hat came back and hit him behind this time. Finally, it returned to its owner who was none other than Masked Swordmaster.

"You think you can avoid my hat throwing attack, now can you?" Masked Swordmaster grinned, as he put his hat back on. "Think again, you freaky lizard guy!"

"Great, it's what's-his-name again..." Solomon murmured.

"Um, the guy who stopped you is Masked Swordmaster!" Phantom Angel responded. "And the name's Phantom Angel! We are known as the Duo of Justice!"

"T'ch, whatever! Anyways, I'm going to let this nightmare monster do all the work for me! Come forth, my faithful monster, attack the Duo of Justice now!"

This was the cue for the nightmare monster, who appeared to be Erik, to fight off against the Duo of Justice. First, he created the present and then threw it at them. They quickly avoided it before it got exploded. Next, the monster created the sled with the buzzsaw before he shoved it to them. The dynamic duo moved away when the sled cut off the flowers and bushes. Phantom Angel used her magical attack to destroy the sled before cutting down more plants and trees. Masked Swordmaster used his cannon to stop the nightmare monster before he created something more mayhem.

"Rescuing cannon frosty bind!" Masked Swordmaster shouted, as he aimed at the deer monster and froze his whole body from continuing making dangerous things.

"Dream healing refresh!" Phantom Angel shouted, as she used her staff to turn Erik back to normal.

"C-Curses! But at least, I've got something that I wanted!" said Solomon angrily, as he quickly disappeared along with the dream life force.

It was the night of Toy Day, Robert was dressed up like Santa Claus and Vicki got dressed up as a reindeer. They stopped by every house to drop off the gifts to their neighbors, including Sammy and Jimmy. After they completed their task, they came to see the black-nosed reindeer, Jingle and gave him a report. When their work was done, he gave them their presents for doing a good job. Finally, Vicki and Robert were celebrating their Toy Day party at their own front yard together, especially opening up their presents.
