For a whole month after Matt's birthday, Luciana had barely seen Matt without the sword. She had barely seen him unless it was when she came in in the middle of the night or for a meal. Enji was too busy to see her so the only time she saw him was when she was running from him or secretly watched him while he slept, creepy as that was.

As it was, Luciana was going to pass out soon. Her eyes were burning as she worked with S and G at the bar. So far, she had nearly fallen asleep too many times and she'd been on shift for three hours.

"That's it! You're going home." T's voice right next to her startled her from the half-conscious state she was in. There were no customers right now. It was the middle of the week. Most of their customers just wanted a drink or two.

"What?" She asked. She was still doing her job, but she was almost completely unaware of everything. Most of the customers were scared. L had a reputation and her bloodshot golden eyes were a pretty creepy thing to add.

"You're barely functioning. You've been working yourself into the ground." Her boss said. "You're going home."

"Ok." She murmured. It was slow enough.

"Did that bitch just say ok to you sending her home?" S exclaimed in shock.

"Yes, L did." G agreed.

"You really aren't doing well. Get someone to pick you up or sleep in the break room. I'm not letting you walk home." T began pulling her into the back.

"No, I gotta go. Matt needs me." She sluggishly tried to push his hand off her.

"You're going to sleep." S interrupted his overly polite boss and tossed his coworker over his shoulder. "And I'm calling someone." He strode into the back.

"Don't call anyone." She struggled weakly. "I'll sleep, but don't call anyone."

"That works." The man tossed her onto the couch and glared at her. "You stay there and sleep," he told her before walking away.

"You do care, fucktard!" came the teasing yell.

"Of course she's not that out of it," grumbled the man.

When his footsteps were all the way gone, Luciana glared at her phone in her hand. She really didn't want any of the heroes to know she worked at Lucky Tabs, a known criminal hangout.

"Ren or Ichigo?" Neither of them would be awake. Mishi was the only one awake. "Fuck. What do I do?" Her eyes were burning from the effort of keeping them open. She might be able to make it to the spot where Mishi normally joined her. He still had the thing with walking her home.

She quickly dialed his number and hauled her butt off the couch. "What?"

"I need you to take me home. I'm on the verge of passing out and I'm being forced to stop working tonight." She mumbled.

"I'm surprised you're actually calling someone."

"I have a friendly co-worker standing over me to make sure I do this. I'd rather call you than they call you." She kept her voice quiet.

"Why would you rather that?"

"Because I still would like to keep my workplace private."

"All right, I'll be there in a minute. Stay at Lucky Tabs."

"I was right that you knew. Don't tell anyone else. I'll be on the roof." She yawned.

"Stay safe," Mishi said before hanging up. Luciana sighed and started walking to the roof entrance that bypassed the second floor.

"M, you can quit hiding with your knife. I'm going to the roof to wait for my friend." She flipped her friend off and began climbing the stairs. When she reached the roof, the chilly late October air woke her up a little. There weren't a lot of cars on the street.

The minutes of silence she enjoyed were interrupted by the sound of Mishi landing.

"You are lucky I have a minute to pick- nevermind. I'm the lucky one. You look like shit." The winged hero stared at her.

Her eyes were dull and bloodshot, her hair was messy, and the bags under her eyes were extremely dark. "I know." She smirked at him. "Let's go."

"It's a good thing. Come here and I'll fly you to your roof." He opened his arms. He had flown with her before.

"Ok." She stumbled into his hug and wrapped her arms around him. "Let's go home," she mumbled.

He picked her up and held onto her.

"Dumb crow," she sniffled, "why do you care about me?"

"Because I care what happens to you and Matt."

"I'm a horrible person. You've seen where I work."

"That says nothing about your character."

"I'm toeing the black zone."

"What?"

"The grayzone. I toe the black zone."

"That doesn't make sense."

"You heroes toe the whiter zone."

"I don't understand."

"I don't want you to. If I tell you, you'll hate me."

"What? That didn't make any sense." She mumbled something angrily. He landed on the roof of her apartment building and took the stairs to her apartment. He snatched the keys and unlocked the door before she could try.

She glared at him as she shuffled inside.

"When was the last time you slept?" He shoved her onto the couch. She curled up and ignored him.

"Fine. Be that way. I have work." He locked the door.

"I slept yesterday." She called just loud enough for him to hear.

"Thank you. Now sleep." He called back and walked away.

"Yup…" she murmured. The couch was comfortable, but she didn't want to sleep. No matter how tired she was, sleep always held nightmares.

Instead, Luciana slowly rose from the couch and moved towards her bedroom. She gathered her stuff to shower and deposited it in the bathroom. She walked into Matt's room and gave him a kiss on the forehead before returning to the bathroom and showering.

When she finally got out of the shower, Luciana still kept moving. She went to the kitchen and began making something simple Matt could heat up for breakfast. She fixed his bento and made sure his heavy backpack was near the door before she began placing sticky notes. They were reminders to remember something or telling him where something was.

"Done…" She smiled. It was only two in the morning. She hurried off to bed. At least Matt would be fine. It didn't take her long to pass out cuddling with her plush.

"Nee-san! Wake up! Dinner!" Matt's voice broke her out of her slumber. He was standing outside her door yelling.

"Huh?" She asked, disoriented.

"You need to eat!" He yelled again.

"Oh. What time is it?" She asked as she sat up. Her shoulder-length blue hair was all over, so she began to try to pat it down.

"Late."

"Ok, I'm coming." She hurriedly began to change into clothes. She had overslept! A minute later, she came out of her room with wild bedhead.

"Sleep well?" Matt asked as she sat at her seat. Everything was already set up on it and the entire living room sparkled in the light.

"Yeah… how long have you been home for?" She looked around at the sparkling apartment.

"Hours. I clean everything because Lucy-nee-san not feel good," he said in between bites of food. His older sister picked at her food. She normally ate less after she had just woken up.

"Oh… I'm sorry I slept so long. I was even home earlier than normal…" She trailed off and ate a bite of food.

"It fine. I like helping. You sleep longer all time and I help." He smiled happily.

"What do you mean?" She asked before eating another small bite of food.

"You sleep later all time when I home from UA. I clean and cook. You in morning and I night." He spoke slower as he tried to piece it together to form a more normal-sounding sentence.

"Don't force yourself. I know what you meant. Maybe we can do that." She smiled at him. "Did you have a good day?"

"Very good. Spoke lots. Hard talk now. Fun though." He said quickly.

"That's lovely. I'm glad you're enjoying being a hero." Her heart squeezed as she thought of all the dangers he could get into. They moved onto a much more pleasant topic for her, his friends.

The ringing of her phone interrupted their peaceful dinner together. "Hello?" Luciana answered quickly, not even checking who it might be.

"Is this Duina Luciana?" A strange man asked.

"Yes. Who is this?"

"I'm Dr. Mai Ti. You are listed as the emergency contact of Todoroki Enji. He was severely injured during a fight with a gang. You need to come to the hospital immediately." The man told her and gave her the address.

"I'll be there as soon as I can." She told him and hung up. "Matt. Enji's in the hospital. I have to go. Do you want to come along, or stay here?"

"Stay. I clean up here. Not like hospitals. Go tomorrow." The teenager shook his head vigorously.

"Ok, be safe." She told him before running to her room and grabbing a jacket -specifically one of Enji's hoodies that she had 'borrowed'- and a backpack. "I don't know when I'll be back. Thanks and loves."

"Thanks and loves." He told her and kissed her cheek. She smiled weakly before running out the door.
