Chapter 10: The Monkey's Dream Cottage
There was a female white and gray monkey with yellow hands and feet; and she wore a blue garden tank. Her name was Shari, and she lived in the island of Triforce. She glanced at the books, which they were all about cottages. She even looked up online in her smartphone and saw pretty pictures of cottages.
"Ah, I wonder what it's like to live in the cottage, cheeky..." Shari sighed. "Man, my dream is to own the cottage peacefully." And so, she started to daydream about it.
Meanwhile, Vicki received the letter from Paradise Planning. She opened up the letter and read it silently. When she noticed Robert entering her house, she let him in before she continued reading the letter. After she was done reading, she lowered the letter and refolded it before putting it back into the envelope. Robert was waiting to see her reaction whether she was happy or sad. Few moments later, Vicki was jumping for joy and laughing happily. Robert realized that this could only mean one thing...
"Finally, I passed the exam!" said Vicki excitedly. "According to the letter of Paradise Planning, they got the review from my first client. And he said he loved the vacation home I set up for him! Isn't that amazing, Robert?"
"Yes, it sure is, Vicki!" Robert answered proudly. "Congratulations!"
Robert pulled Vicki a kiss and a cuddle at the same time. As soon as they were separated from the kiss, Vicki slammed the door behind her. She didn't notice that Sammy and Jimmy were standing by the door, but Robert did and couldn't say anything while clearing up his throat. Few seconds later, one of the twins knocked on the door loudly and caught their attention.
"Well, guess who?" Robert asked jokingly, while he shrugged.
Vicki immediately opened the door and saw the Slapjack brothers still standing there. They frowned at her after she closed the door in front of their faces.
"Hey Vicki, isn't it rude to shut the door in front of your visitors while visiting you?" Sammy asked flatly.
"Well, if only they would've knocked on the door politely or said a word right away, then I will know that I have visitors," Vicki explained. "But since you two are our neighbors, well...let's just say you two are the exceptions!"
"Hey!" the Slapjack brothers exclaimed in unison. After they heard what Vicki was saying, Robert immediately stepped in.
"Um, anyways, why are you guys here?" Robert asked, changing the subject.
"Oh, about that..." Sammy answered, "my brother and I received the letter from Paradise Planning today."
"Yeah, and we're guessing Vicki got hers, too?" Jimmy pointed out.
"That's right, here it is!" Vicki grinned, as she showed the letter to the Slapjack brothers as proof. "My letter says that I passed the exam! What about yours?"
"Y-Yeah, a-about that, y-you see..."
"Our letters told us that we failed!" Sammy interjected, as he ripped off the letter and Jimmy did the same thing.
"That's kind of...harsh for both of you," said Robert, as he tried not to laugh.
"I bet you two got the bad reviews from your first clients," Vicki smirked. "I think that's why you both failed the exam."
Before Sammy or Jimmy could say anything to Vicki, they heard their smartphones ringing. As soon as they checked to see of who's calling, they immediately left Vicki's house before they answered their phones. She quickly closed the door behind them and sighed very heavily.
"I'm glad that's over," said Vicki. "And here I thought they would never leave."
"At least, they're not joining the team of the Paradise Planning," said Robert, scratching the back of his head. "Otherwise, their job became a disaster once the clients started to react their performance."
In the afternoon, Shari was walking to the bench and sat down for just a bit. She took out her sketchbook and drew a picture of her dream cottage. Vicki and Robert were walking past by and noticed that their monkey neighbor was drawing something. Robert quickly gestured Vicki that Shari was the one whom the villains were targeting at any moment according to Luna. She nodded slightly as she and Robert were meeting up with Shari.
"Hey Shari, what's up?" Vicki asked happily.
"Hey there, Vicki and Robert, I was just drawing a picture of the floral cottage, cheeky," Shari replied, as she showed them the unfinished picture. "Here it is! Well, it's not completed, but this is my dream cottage, the floral one."
"Ah, that looks beautiful!"
"Yeah, you put your heart and a lot of effort into it, Shari," said Robert.
"Thanks for the compliments, folks," said Shari. "You two are the best, cheeky!"
Suddenly, Vicki's smartphone began to ring. So, she picked up her phone and answered, "Hello?" She immediately walked away while she was on the phone.
"Hi, Vicki, is it?" the female caller replied on the phone.
"Yes, that's me! Is this Sonia, correct?"
"Yeah, that's right. Anyways, I have a question..."
"Go ahead..."
After Vicki and Sonia talked briefly on the phone, she ended her call. Then, Vicki noticed that Robert was standing beside her.
"Vicki, who's on the phone?" Robert asked.
"Oh, that's Sonia, who participated the exam at Paradise Planning, on the phone," Vicki replied.
"Ah, so what did she say?"
Before Vicki could answer, there was another incoming phone call for her. She immediately answered her phone and find out who it was this time.
"Hello?" Vicki called.
"Hey there, Vicki!" another female caller responded, while she sounded cheerfully.
"Hey Claire, how's it going?"
"It's going great! What about you?"
"Same here!"
"Awesome! Listen, Vicki, there's something I want to talk to you about..."
Few minutes later, Vicki and Claire were done talking on their phones and said goodbye to each other. Vicki hung up her smartphone and turned her attention back to Robert.
"Uh, who was it this time?" Robert asked.
"That's Claire, she's another one of the participants for the exam at Paradise Planning," Vicki answered.
"Ah, make sense. So, did either of them received the letter whether they pass or fail?"
"Yes, that's right! That's why they called me, and they said they both passed the exam!"
"Sounds fantastic! Good for them!"
Meanwhile, Shari continued drawing a picture of her dream cottage. As soon as someone was approaching, she gazed at the boy with black hair and green eyes. The monkey wasn't familiar with him as the resident, but she assumed that he was just a traveler.
"Hello, you must be the traveler, correct?" Shari suggested.
"Uh yeah, indeed I am," the boy replied. "Is it okay if I ask your assistance?"
"And what will it be, cheeky?"
The boy sneered. "Oh, I just wanted to see...and take your dream life force away from you!"
The boy suddenly transformed into his demon form and revealed to Magnus. Shari shrieked in panic and dropped her sketchbook from her hands. Vicki and Robert heard the monkey screaming, which it could only mean one thing.
"Sounds like Shari's in trouble!" Vicki exclaimed. "It's time to transform, Robert!"
"Right back at you!" Robert exclaimed, as he followed her lead.
"Angelic dreamy rescue action!"
"Knight dreamy rescue action!"
After Magnus stole Shari's dream life force, she transformed into a nightmare monster. She growled and roared very loudly that she was about to tear her own house apart. Suddenly, the monster got hit on the back of her head by the magical tiara. Magnus and the nightmare monster saw the dynamic duo who were standing right behind them.
"Oh, come on, not those two again!" Magnus complained.
"Hey, I would've saved my complaints to myself if I were you!" Masked Swordmaster exclaimed.
"Magnus, you'd better return to Shari's dream life force right now!" Phantom Angel demanded.
"No way that I'm going to do that!" Magnus argued. "Besides, this is what I'm only after, nothing else! In the meantime, I'll let that monster take care of you! So, goodbye for now, Duo of Justice!"
After Magnus disappeared, the nightmare monkey started to swing the long stick at the Duo of Justice. They quickly ran away as far as they could in order to avoid getting a direct hit. Phantom Angel quickly grabbed a coconut from the palm tree and rolled it at the monster's feet. When the nightmare monster got tripped by the rolling coconut, she fell down and stopped swinging the stick. As soon as she got up, she summoned the deadly kitchen knives and aimed directly at them. Masked Swordmaster quickly used his shield wall to protect Phantom Angel and himself from getting killed. The evil monkey started to throw two chairs at the dynamic duo. The angel used her teleportation magic to transfer the chairs to the nightmare monster. Once the portal magic appeared behind the nightmarish monkey, she was knocked out by her own thrown chairs. Finally, Phantom Angel used her healing magic to turn Shari back to normal.
The next day, Shari was dazing at the ceiling without a care in the world. Then, someone knocked on the door, so she answered it right away. It was Vicki who happened to stop by at her house. Plus, she brought something for her as a surprise.
"Hey Vicki, what did you have here, cheeky?" Shari asked.
"Oh, it's something that you always dreamed of..." Vicki answered, as she put the present on the table and unwrapped the cloth for her. "Ta-da! It's your dream cottage, the floral cottage if I got it right."
Shari awed in surprise when she was staring at the cottage model that Vicki brought for her. She was giddy in excitement that she loved the model so much.
"It's so lovely, Vicki, I can't thank you enough, cheeky!" said Shari excitedly.
"I'm glad that you love it, Shari," Vicki grinned happily.
Vicki made Shari's dream came true after she gave her the cottage model. She left the monkey's house and went straight to her home.
