Chapter 33
His head was pounding.
Suiryu felt he was trapped in a nightmare. Sukuna was all over the place, he tried to crush Nobara, and then he was going to devour her. Then, Yuuji… and yet…
He gasped as he suddenly sat up in bed. Yet as he did, his head pulsed. "GAH! What the fuck!" he protested as he tried to sooth the headache. "Wait, I don't get headaches… that's what reverse jujutsu is for!" he muttered to himself.
"I wouldn't if I were you,"
He paused as Dr. Shoko came into the room. "Took you long enough to wake up, you've been out for a week!"
Suiryu froze. "A week? How is that even possible?!" he demanded of her. Come to think of it, he began to feel strange. Something wasn't right with him. "I feel… off…" he said.
"No shit," she muttered to him. Dr. Shoko had a look on her face, as if silently telling him to 'shut the hell up'. Suiryu took the hint. "Is everyone okay?" he asked. "I swore something was happening, but I can't remember…"
"No one can," she replied, "We think it was a sudden attack, Gojo took care of it, but it caught you off guard of all people. We are keeping a close eye on it."
Suiryu merely nodded. "Am I good to go doc?"
"I suggest you go visit these so called brothers of yours. They keep pestering me day in and out about you,"
"Thanks…" slowly, he eased himself out of bed, He felt a small surge course through him, and reverse jujutsu was just used on him strengthening his body once more. He walked out without incident and went straight to the curse womb dorms.

He knocked as always, yet he never waits for anyone to answer. Suiryu just lets himself in and announces his arrival. "HEY! Miss me?!" he called.
The brothers snapped to their feet, the door closed behind him as Choso kept a finger to his lips. Suiryu merely nodded as he was led out through the back. They went to meet at Gojo's dorm, much to Suiryu's shock, everyone was here! "Whoa, what the hell…" he muttered.
"Safest place to talk, Sensei has his dorm covered with talismans, thanks to Kitsune." Fushiguro explained. "Sensei…"
Satoru nodded, he turned to Suiryu and said bluntly. "You're human,"
At first, he thought it was a joke. "Human? Seriously Satoru!" he chuckled a little. "What makes you think that?"
No one in the room said a word, no one was snickering as Choso stepped forward. "I don't sense curse energy in you, none of us could sense where you were. And right now, Mika has more energy in her than you, and she merely carried a cursed weapon."
He froze, now that he thinks about it, everyone here has a pulse he can pick up upon. He could tell people's coming and goings this way, but now… he felt nothing. Looking to his hands, his fingernails weren't black, he tried to summon his power but no marks appeared, he felt under his eyes for the demon ones, but, there was nothing to find. "How… how could this have happened!?"
"We are trying to remember, but at the moment, none of us can recall it." Fushiguro explained. "But ever since you passed out, we have all made a collective agreement. We're leaving here."
"Tanso has been using his familiars non stop, we have transported all valuables and keepsakes that we wished to retain from here. But at the moment, we are waiting for the right time to go." Junpei explained. "The council knows something has happened, Yuuji hasn't woken up in a week. And now, soon, they are going to know something is happening with you."
Suiryu froze, they have to get out of here. "Okay, I have to let D'angelo know what's going on, you know him if he calls this place or tries to find me if I don't answer my phone, but I have to go in person."
They nodded. "We have already started evacuating. Mika has gone back home to gather some weapons just in case. Choso is going to leave the moment this meeting is over and bring Yuuji with him. We just need a place…" Gojo began to say.
"We have one" Suiryu stated. "Choso, please fill everyone in on the location, it's a distance, we will be going outside of Kyoto…"
"That far!?" demanded Nobara.
"It's far, but it will be safe, we just have to get there."
Choso nodded. "You better get going Suiryu, we better do this in stages, the most vulnerable should leave first."
Gojo agreed. "Suiryu, want a lift?"
"No, if they come after me, I will at least bide time. Everyone else, get going…" he said.
He quickly took his leave.

It was strange, he couldn't warp into the city or even run it like before… well… he did run it but not as fast as he would like to. Yet the world seems so different than it did before. Suiryu paused to take it all in, to see the world through human eyes until he heard something odd.
In an alleyway, he peered in and saw three men, hassling a girl. "Come on, you ought to join us!" one said in a slimy tone.
She tried to pull away. "NO! I DON'T WANT TO!" she shouted with all her might.
"HEY! ASSHOLES!" Suiryu shouted.
The three paused as he began to walk in. They suddenly released the girl as she rushed pass Suiryu and vanished without a trace. "Wait, isn't that…"
"Shit it is! RUN!" they three made a dash out of the alley and ran down the street to avoid him. He could only hope they didn't run in the same direction as the young woman.
He made his way to the studio, there he found D'angelo who froze at the sight of him, but then, his eyes nearly bugged out of his head. "Sweetie!" he said and grabbed his shoulders. "Are you okay?!"
"Uh… yes?" Suiryu said awkwardly. "Look, D'angelo, I can work just for today and after a while… I got to disappear for a bit… I hope you understand."
"Yes, of course I do, but are you sure you want to do anything today?"
"Might as well, one final job right? The least I could do"
Not to mention, he knows there are spies from the council keeping a close eye on him, he has to make this look natural.
D'angelo was even reluctant, however sighed and nodded. "One quick job, a press conference, they want strong looking guys to be there. Let's get this done and get you on your way."
