Chapter 21: Wedding Plans For The Duo

Vicki, Claire, and Sonia had arrived in the island, thanks to Niko and his boat. They came to visit one of their clients' homes. When one of them knocked on the door, someone answered it and appeared to be a male dog whose name was Butch.

"Oh hi, girls, what brings you here, ROOOOOWF?" Butch asked.

"We were just checking to see of how you've been doing recently," Claire replied.

"Ah, everything's going great, thanks to all of you!"

"That's great and all, but is it okay if we can see the painting you have on the wall?"

"I don't mind at all, so be my guest, ROOOOOWF!"

"Thank you, Butch!" said Vicki.

When Vicki, Claire, and Sonia entered Butch's home, they saw the beautiful painting on the wall. It was the painting of the candle lights floating in the lake at night, including the lit-up lanterns floating in the air. The girls were inspired with the painting that it turned out very lovely.

After the girls thanked Butch for the good reviews, they planned to stop by at the next vacation house. One of them knocked on the door, and the white wolf answered.

"Oh, hi there, didn't expect you all to visit me, snappy!" said the white wolf surprisingly.

"Hello, Whitney, we were just checking to see if you're doing well in your vacation house," said Sonia smilingly.

"Ah, everything's going fantastic, snappy!"

"Glad to hear it!" said Claire. "But can I ask you something?"

"Yes, what is it?"

"You see, one of us is going to get married. So, do you happen to have your wedding dress made?"

"A wedding dress? Ah, let me go find it...Oh, and you, girls can come right in!"

Vicki, Claire, and Sonia entered Whitney's vacation home while the wolf went to her room to find a wedding dress. As soon as she got back, she was holding the pink wedding dress and showed it to them. They were very intrigued by her wedding dress.

"Okay, so which one of you will get married soon?" Whitney asked, when Claire and Sonia were staring at Vicki.

"I am!" Vicki replied, raising her hand.

"Alright, Vicki, try it on and see what you think, snappy!"

After Whitney gave Vicki a pink wedding dress, she went to the bathroom to try it on. Few minutes later, she left the bathroom and wore a pink wedding dress to show off Claire, Sonia, and Whitney. All three of them were awed in surprise when Vicki twirled around.

"Does it look beautiful on you, Vicki?" Claire asked.

"It suits you well," said Sonia.

"It is very pretty and lovely, but I'm not sure if I can wear this for my wedding," said Vicki.

"Not to worry, girl, we have few girls who made different kinds of wedding dresses," said Claire enthusiastically.

"Wait, really?"

"Yes, you might want to try each and every one of the wedding dresses if you like," said Sonia.

"Then, let's do this!"

Vicki, Claire, and Sonia stopped by at the dark blue koala's house. Her name was Yuka, and she happened to have a black wedding dress. When Vicki tried it on, she thought it looked like she was heading to someone's funeral. Claire and Sonia agreed to that, so the dress was a no-go.

The girls stopped by the vacation house where the purple-haired duck lived. This duck's name was Gloria, and she brought the blue wedding dress with yellow stars. As soon as Vicki tried it on, it felt as though only someone would plan to get married at night. She told the others that she's not a mere night owl, and only night owls would get married during nighttime. Claire and Sonia agreed so they decided to move on.

Last, but not least, Vicki, Claire, and Sonia were heading to the vacation house, where it was owned by the white eagle, Celia. She brought the wedding dress that was colored white and light green at the end. Vicki tried it on and started to show off by twirling around. Claire, Sonia, and even Celia were very amazed.

"Well, what do you think, feathers?" Celia asked.

"I think it's wonderful, Celia," Vicki replied, "but I don't know which one is better for me after trying out different kinds of wedding dresses. I mean, all of them are beautiful, to be honest. Although, I don't know which one suits me better for my wedding."

"Yeah, that's a big problem alright..." Claire sighed.

"Hmm, how about we can design the wedding dress for you, Vicki?" Sonia asked.

"Do you think it's possible?" Vicki asked curiously.

"Of course, it is!" Claire replied. "If you come up with your own dream wedding dress, just draw the picture of it and send it to us after you're done. How's that?"

"I think that's a wonderful idea, Claire! Perhaps, I'll do that!"

"Great! Say, Vicki, when do you plan on getting married?"

"Oh, um, when exactly?"

While the girls were waiting for the answer, Vicki was hesitating to think of when her wedding would start. Few minutes later, she confessed to them that she didn't have the date set for her wedding. That left everyone flabbergasted; and Vicki was dumbfounded that she didn't think about the date of her wedding.

"You seriously can't decide on the date of your wedding, girl?!" Claire sighed in frustration. "This is important, you know! You have to set up the date of your wedding so your friends and your family will know before attending to your wedding!"

"Yeah, I know, Claire, and I'm sorry about that..." said Vicki apologetically. "It's just that I didn't even come up with an exact date, that's the issue..."

"Um, Vicki, why don't you ask Robert?" Sonia suggested. "Maybe, he came up with the exact date of the wedding than you have?"

"Ah, you're probably right about that, Sonia! I'll go ask him!"

Vicki, Claire, and Sonia entered the restaurant and saw the boys sitting at the table. Vicki sat next to Robert as usual while Claire and Sonia sat beside the twins. Vicki cleared her throat and asked her fiancé a question.

"Hey Robert, do you have any idea of when we'll get married?" Vicki asked eagerly.

Robert blinked his eyes while staring at Vicki blankly. He opened and closed his mouth rapidly, like a goldfish, but no words were coming out of his mouth. He scratched the back of his head and sipped a glass of water. As soon as he put the glass down, he finally replied, "To be honest with you, Vicki...I have no idea exactly of when we'll get married."

Everyone slammed their heads on the table, except Vicki who slumped her shoulders and sighed heavily. They were expecting Robert to get an answer, but unfortunately, he didn't.

"You seriously mean to tell us that you didn't come up with the wedding date either?!" Claire asked in frustration, glaring daggers at Robert.

"Yeah, Robert, I thought you set up a date for our wedding," said Vicki in despair.

"Sorry, Vicki, I thought you had an idea of when we will get married..." said Robert mournfully, while Vicki shook her head.

Vicki shrugged. "But anyways, we're not in a rush or anything..."

"Huh? What do you mean, Vicki?" Claire asked.

"I mean, Robert and I may have forgotten to set up the wedding date, but we still have a lot of time before our marriage."

"I believe Vicki's right, our wedding plans will be processed very slowly," Robert explained. "So, there's no need for us to rush, okay?"

"Understood..." said Sonia. "Just let us know if either of you decide on the wedding date, alright?"

"We will!" said Vicki happily.

The ox demon, Magnus appeared in the island where five animals lived. He used his powers to snatch the dream life forces from them. After that, the animals were now turned into nightmare monsters. They all rammed into their own vacation houses and started to rampage.

"Well, there goes their dream weddings after all!" Magnus grinned. "And now, I turned them into nightmare wedding crashers!" Finally, he disappeared into thin air.

Vicki and Robert were riding on Niko's boat, so she could show him the female animals' wedding dresses and Butch's beautiful painting. After they got off the boat, they walked to the animals' vacation houses. When they got there, something happened to the houses. The doors were damaged and the windows were shattered.

"The vacation houses aren't supposed to be destroyed when I arrived with Claire and Sonia a while ago," Vicki pointed out. "Did someone broke into their houses just now?"

"Hmm, I don't think so..." Robert replied. "No person nor animal would wreck something heavy like that, and I can tell it's way beyond powerful. Which it could only mean one thing..."

Suddenly, five nightmare monsters appeared right in front of Vicki and Robert. One of the monsters threw the combustion candle at the two people. The duo quickly dodged the flammable candle and ran away for cover in order to transform into their hero forms.

The nightmare bridal wolf threw the bouquet bomb at the trees and bushes where Vicki and Robert were hiding. As soon as it got exploded and the smoke appeared, the nightmare monsters were waiting for the smoke to clear out. After it was all cleared out, two humans were nowhere to be seen. While they were searching for the missing couple, the portal suddenly appeared right above them. The monsters looked up and saw the Duo of Justice falling beneath them. The dynamic duo landed on the pile of monsters and then leapt to the ground.

"I landed safely with you tagging along," Phantom Angel muttered. "Otherwise, I just broke the fall myself..."

"This isn't the time for that, Angel," said Masked Swordmaster. "For now, we have bigger issues to take care of..."

"Ah, you're right!"

Phantom Angel and Masked Swordmaster stopped the nightmare monsters this instant. The evil groom dog unleashed his fiery candle bombs, the devil bride wolf tossed out the explosive bouquet, and three nightmare bridesmaids were shooting missiles with their bouquets. Masked Swordmaster used his shield wall to block their attacks. Phantom Angel summoned the bubbles to imprison the monsters. They used up all their attacks to burst the bubbles, but they're not very easily to pop, unlike the ordinary bubbles. After Masked Swordmaster cancelled out his shield, Phantom Angel used her staff to turn the monsters back to normal animals and the imprisoned bubbles disappeared.

The next day, Vicki and Robert were still thinking about their wedding date, which it was very important. Back then, she showed her fiancé the wedding dresses that Yuka, Gloria, Celia, and Whitney made and Butch's painting after they saved their lives. They had written down their wedding plans on their notebooks. They wrote down of where their wedding would take place, who they would plan to invite, and the preparations for their wedding. What's left was when they would plan to get married, which they still needed to think about.

"Well, Vicki, we've got the wedding plans ready, except for the exact date," said Robert.

"Yeah, that part is going to be difficult to decide," said Vicki. "Because we are so busy fighting evil and saving people and animals that we almost forgot about the wedding date."

"Once this whole nightmare business will be over, our wedding will begin eventually...well, not sooner, but rather later I'm afraid."

"Yeah, it will possibly be, like, next year then?"

Suddenly, Vicki and Robert got the realization of when their wedding would begin. They both exclaimed in unison, "That's it! We will have our wedding by next year!" They started jolting down on their notebooks and gave each other a high-five.
