Author's Note: This story takes place in Minato's era. And to be clear, in this story Sakura is originally born in this timeline. This is not a Sakura time-travel fic but something else. I hope that you will like this story.

"Mom, can I play outside?" Ask by the little pinkette to her busy mother.

"I don't know blossom-chan. What if someone bullies you again?" The mother responded with voice filled with concern for her daughter though she did not glance at her child. She doesn't want to see her daughter's hopeful eyes and make her heart clench. 'Why do kids these days so cruel! Poor, Sakura-chan.' She thought to herself mournfully.

Hearing that, Sakura's face scrunched up. She remembered the mean girls that always teased her regarding her unusual hair color and slightly large forehead.

"Is my forehead really that large? But dad says, it's not. Maybe they're just jealous of me. Shannaro!" Sakura said out loud, surprising her mother who finally looks at her.

"Sakura, be mindful of you voice. A lady doesn't shout. You should know better than that." Haruno Mebuki chastised softly but Sakura took it in a bad way.

Being chastised by her mother and not being allowed to go outside, she felt like tearing –up. She knows that she's being childish but she can't help it. For her, being chastised means that she disappoints her mother and she doesn't want that and at the same time is it bad to go outside to finally find a friend. Though at the back of her mind, a part of her says, "We always went outside but instead of finding a new friend, we always ended up being bullied." But being the stubborn child that she is, she chose to ignore it.

"I-I'm *hic* s-sorry." Seeing her daughter on the verge of crying, her heart clench. She stopped whatever she's doing and she hugged her daughter while whispering consoling words. "Shh, stop crying my princess. Mom's not mad, I'm just concerned for you. Mom only wants the best for you."

"What's going on here? Why is my princess tearing-up?" The newly arrived Kizashi asked. Concern is etched in his face.

"She wants to play outside but I didn't allow her. I'm worried that what if she gets bullied again? Kids these days are so ill-mannered! I don't want Sakura be hurt again." Mebuki told her husband while comforting their child.

Kizashi's heart felt like being squished. Both he and his wife knows that their child is being bullied, he wanted to confront the parents of Sakura's bullies but his princess keeps on stopping him saying that, "I don't want to make this a big deal, dad. Those mean girls will eventually get bored."

He felt sad and at the same time, proud for his daughter. His daughter is so mature and soft-hearted.

He stared at his weeping daughter and sighed. "Do you really wanna go and play outside, princess?" He softly asked Sakura.

Sakura hopefully stared at her father, tears still running down her cheeks and then she nodded. Her father looks so resigned and then says, "Fine, I'll allow you to go but promised me that if someone bullies you again, you'll tell me. Understood?" He strokes her daughter's head and when he caught his wife disapproving gaze, he offered her a nervous smile.

Not noticing her mother's expression, Sakura asked, "What are you going to do, after I tell you? Daddy, what are you going to do?"

"I will talk to their parents. And you can't stop me this time." He said and offered a grin to his daughter.

Sakura looks so worried. "B-but -"

"Like what I've said, you can't stop me this time. Go and play outside. Have fun!"

Sakura looks so hesitant but her desire to play outside wins.

'I'll just not tell dad if someone bullies me. Yeah, that's right. I'll not tell dad or I'll just lie.' Sakura thought and she hurriedly run outside after kissing both of her parents and saying goodbye.

When Sakura's already out of the house. Mebuki glared at her husband.

"Why did you allow her? Sooner or later she'll come back again while crying!" She paced on their living room and mutter some words like, "If she got hurt again, you'll gonna sleep on the guest room for a month."

Hearing that, Kizashi let out a nervous chuckle and tried to placate his wife. "Let the child have some fun, Mebuki. Maybe she'll finally found a friend today."

But Mebuki wasn't deterred ad replied ferociously, "That's not the point! What if she got bullied?! In fact, you and I know, that Sakura will not tell you later if she got bullied. She probably lies. What if she came home again with some bruises?!" Mebuki glared dangerously at her husband. "What are you going to do?!"

Imagining what his wife have said, his face became stoic. Just by imaging his precious princess with bruises makes his blood boil. 'If only my daughter doesn't stop me and Mebuki from retaliating from those bullies' families this will be resolved earlier.' He thought darkly. Don't get him wrong, he is happy that his daughter is kind but it irritates him there are people who abused it.

"Mebuki, love, it doesn't matter whether said told me or not. I'll still talk to the kids' parents. Enough is enough. Who do they think they are? Bullying my child, a Haruno?! For freaking sake, I'm gonna show them what happens to those who dare bully a Haruno." Surprised was written in Mebuki's face by her husband's outburst but it didn't last. An evil smirked can be seen in both her and her husband's face while they plot on how to avenge their daughter.

"Sorry our princess, you can't now stop mommy and daddy from retaliating to those bastards."

Unaware of what her parents are plotting. Sakura eagerly went to the park.

'Maybe, I'll finally have a friend today. Can't wait.' She said to herself. To be honest, the only reason why she keeps on getting outside of their house despite of the bullying is because she wants to have a friend.

Sakura hopefully looks at the kids playing. She wants to join too.

'I hope that someone will invite me to play with them.'

Seconds turned into minutes and minutes somehow turned into an hour but nobody invites Sakura to play with them.

Feeling lonely and wallowing into self-pity, Sakura whispered, "Why does nobody wants to play with me? Is it because of my hair? My slightly large forehead?" She stared longingly with other kids playing and without her realizing, tears are running down in her cheeks.

"Look who's here! It's forehead girl!" Hearing that Sakura fearfully looked at the person who talked. It is Ami, her number 1 bully.

"D-don't come *hic* near me! Leave me alone!" Sakura bravely said while wiping her tears. She tried her best to look brave but when she saw how many of her bullies that are present, she felt scared. There's five of them!

"Oh yeah? What are you gonna do? Drown us using your tears? Ha! Fat chance, you stupid forehead!" The leader of the mean girls, which is Ami, said, and then she pushed Sakura and pulled her hair. Sakura tried to free herself but she didn't succeed.

"Ew, what kind of person has a pink hair and a large forehead?" Ami said and then she let go of Sakura's hair and walk towards her friends who are all holding a small rocks, and some small branches.

The mean girl looked at Sakura cruelly before saying, "A FREAK!" The kids threw what they're holding to Sakura while chanting "Freak! Freak! Freak!"

Crying and hurt, Sakura used all her strength and pushed the leader of the mean girls and run. She run and run, desperately escaping from the mean girls. She stopped running when she reached the forest near the ninja academy. She saw a large tree and there she rest and cried. Unknown to her, there is someone at the other side of the tree who is sleeping.

"They're so *hic* mean! Why are *hic* they bullying me!" Due to her loud outburst, the person who is sleeping at the other side of the tree has been awaken.

The person sleepily rubs his eyes and tried to find where the noise is coming from. He looks at his front, his left side, and right side but he still can't find the source of the noise.

'Where is the noise coming from? Is there a ghost here? I hope not.' He hesitantly stands and looks at the other side of the tree. There, he saw a cute little girl with pink hair.

'Wait, pink?! Am I dreaming? The person/ little boy said to himself. He rubbed his eyes and pinched his self to confirm if he's still dreaming or not. The curious little boy stepped closer to have a better look.

"It really is pink!" He suddenly shouted while pointing at the cute little girl who became startled because of him. He felt sheepish in what he said and find himself rude. When he was about to apologized, the pinkette faced him, and he saw that she's crying. Feeling worried, he tried to asked if the girl is ok.

"A-are you –" Before he can finish what he's saying, the pinkette shouted at him.

"What! Are you *hic* here to bully me too?! And don't you *hic* know that it's rude to point at other people?! You, you YELLOW."

The little boy frowned because he's not used being shouted out and at the same time he felt amused.

'She called me Yellow, because I called her pink? This is the first time someone called me yellow.' Anyway, let's talk to her.

He carefully approach her and he politely smiled. "Hey, calm down. I just want to ask if you're alright." He explained. "And why would I bully you?"

Realization dawned at the little girl, before she hesitantly asked the boy with a small voice. "Because my *hic* hair is pink and I have a large *hic* forehead?"

The little boy's eyebrows furrowed. He looks at her appearance and doesn't find anything wrong with it. And at the same time thought, 'I will never understand girls.' before speaking. "What? So you're saying that I should bully you because you have a pink hair and a large forehead? Which are both really pretty and charming?" The boy confusedly asked and then realizing what he had just said, his eyes sort of widened.

'Did I just said right in front of a girl that she's pretty and charming? Mom will teased me if she ever heard this.' The boy said to himself not noticing that the pinkette stopped crying and look at the boy in front of her in a new light. 'Maybe he can be my new friend?' She hopefully thought.

"Do you mean what you've said? You're not lying?" Sakura asked the boy cautiously. The boy snapped at his thoughts hearing Sakura's questions. He cocked his head to the right before he speak confusedly, "Is somebody bullying you because of your hair and forehead?" The boy hesitantly asked in fear of making the girl cry again but luckily the girl didn't cry and only nodded.

"Wait, what? Someone is bullying you because of that? Are they stupid?" The boy said feeling bewildered and added, "Maybe they're jealous of you because they don't have a hair as pretty as yours." The boy nodded, showing his agreement towards on what he said.

Sakura look at him with wide big eyes. "They're bullying me because they're jealous of me?" She said suspiciously not automatically believing the stranger that she's talking to.

"Yup, so don't let them get into you again. Your hair and forehead are pretty." This time the boy said it with very much conviction and something like determination in his eyes.

Seeing that she felt sort of convinced. "P-pretty." Sakura stuttered and blushed. It was the first time that someone complimented her hair and forehead aside from her family.

Silence overcomes them. Sakura just looked at the boy in front of her who's nervously looking at her as if expecting that she'll cry again.

'Why is she staring at me?' The boy confusedly asks himself. However, he became surprised when the girl suddenly hugged him saying that, "Mr. Yellow, can you be my best friend?"

The girl ceased from hugging him and looks at him shyly while waiting from his response.

'Did she just call me 'Mr. Yellow'? Oh wait s-she just asks me to be her best friend? Is she serious? Well, it's not like I don't like her, she seems nice. But is she really serious?' He looks at the girl in front of him, trying to know if she's serious. But it seems like the girl misinterpreted his stare.

"I-if you don't want to be my best friend, its fine. But can you be my friend? Please." Sakura said while hopefully looking at the boy.

Realization dawned at the boy and then he brightly smiled. "Oh, you're really serious. Sure why not, Ms. Pink."

Happiness burst from Sakura's heart. She finally has a friend!

"Shannaro! I finally have a friend." Sakura unknowingly dance due to happiness while the boy just looks at her amused. Sakura hugged her new friend tightly and the tentatively boy hugs her back, because he's not really used being hugged by others except for his parents and sometimes his grandma. But then Sakura realized something.

She unhug her new friend and looks at him suspiciously.

"Did I do something wrong?" The boy asks his new friend who is looking at him suspiciously.

"Did you just call me 'Ms. Pink' earlier?" Sakura asks.

"Yes, I called you Ms. Pink because you called me Mr. Yellow." The boy shyly said while rubbing the back of his head.

Sakura became flustered because she did call her new friend 'Mr. Yellow' furthermore, she still doesn't know the name of her friend.

"S-sorry, I called you Mr. Yellow. Forgive me." Sakura hurriedly said which earned a chuckle from the boy.

"It's alright. No need to be so worked up. By the way, my name is Minato. Minato Namikaze."

"I'm Sakura. Sakura Haruno. Nice to meet you Minato-san." Sakura said brightly. Happy to know her friend's name.

"Just Minato, Sakura-chan. We're friends, right?" Minato said smilingly and his smile widens more when he saw Sakura's flustered face. 'She looks cute when flustered.' He said to himself.

"Y-you, you called me Sakura-chan!" She said pointing at Minato with cheeks reddening. "T-then, I'll call you Minato-kun!" Sakura said with her newly found determination, hoping to see Minato getting flustered too but to no avail.

"This is unfair! You're not flustered!"

"Is Sakura-chan trying to fluster me?" Minato teased.

The two of them spent their time playing and getting to know each other. They found out that both of them are going to enroll to the ninja academy next year and they felt excited. And eventually, before they went to their respective homes, they carved something on the tree where they met.

"PINK AND YELLOW"
