Summary: The heroes battle a new team of villains, with new allies and new situations to deal with as well.
Authors Notes:
Story idea from Crazyboi23.
'Serpentking707' and 'aanikendrajha499' helped a lot in this chapter.
Sorry this took so long to update. I had to rewrite this entire chapter from scratch. I didn't like the direction it was going at first, and with so many people giving me ideas, it fell by the wayside. But now it's written and the new chapter is ready to read. Enjoy!

Chapter 5
Heroes Vs Villains
Heroes come in all shapes and sizes, including both genders and are of terrestrial and extraterrestrial origin. They come from all walks of life, from royalty to peasant, rich to middle to poor class, and possess a wide-variety of talents and abilities: strength, speed, intellect, leadership abilities, combat skills, supernatural and mental abilities. It is this diversity that makes them special and gives rise to a strength that inspires for generations to come.
Naturally, the existence of heroes gives rise to beings called villains. The dark opposites to those noble and honorable souls, the villains come from just as many tragic and dark origins as the heroes themselves. While some villains declare themselves righteous yet cruel in their endeavors, others are merely greedy, psychotic, power-mad and apathetic in the pursuit of their own personal goals.
The greatest irony is that good cannot exist without evil.
And in no greater place is this found, then on the field of battle.

(Berlin, Germany)
In the war room of the German Whermacht High Command in Berlin, a group of generals - both regular Army and Nazi Waffen SS - were reviewing numerous reports from the Normandy battlefront. So far, their special advisors have correctly predicted on where the Allies were going to land.
Field Marshal Erwin Rommel, the legendary Desert Fox and who is also known for his brilliance as a field tactician, had also pointed out Normandy as the possible site of the invasion despite reports heavily pointing the one at Calais.
The special advisers, however, sided with Rommel on the view yet gives the overall commander-in-chief in the west, the elderly yet capable Field Marshal von Runstedt, absolute authority on how to best handle the situation though it is also a compromise between him and Rommel since both had a tactical disagreement on how to best deploy their forces.
Normally, Adolf Hitler would have a final say in such matters and often his decisions would be a disaster as his past choices on the Eastern Front and in North Africa had shown.
However, the current leadership of the Third Reich is a ruling troika.
Gazing at the maps is an imposing man named Vandal Savage, wearing a customized uniform which he had designed for himself that doesn't feature Nazi swastikas at all on his armband. He had appeared out of no where and once Hitler had taken "medical leave", forms a triumvirate with two other strangers whose brilliance have allowed the Nazis to regain the initiative.
"Mein Fuhrers," SS General Hoffman shouts while rushing into the room while holding a piece of paper in his hand. "We have just received disturbing news from the Normandy front."
Savage stops himself from making a reply with a Luftwaffe adjutant and calmly asks the general. "What sort of disturbance could have you so unhinged, Herr Hoffman?"
"A group of mysterious beings with magical powers are decimating some of our forward armored units and have even stabilize the American lines with great speed."
"Yes, I know." a rather young voice asked from behind Hoffman just before Savage could use his special Lightning Gauntlet to zap the general.
The owner of that voice is an 20-year old boy who wore Purple-and-Green armor yet has an aide holding his helmet and mask. Known only as Gabriel, the boy has been instrumental in helping Savage in bringing futuristic weapons to the Nazis - for an agreement.
With him is a 16 year-old boy in similar clothing but is more like Dr. Doom's except he doesn't have a mask. Accompanying him are a cadre of Kherubim women who are members of a group of feared assassins called the Coda Sisterhood.
Unlike his companion, the 16-year old never speaks except in private and is known for having a calculating mind and being the silent genius since he had been very capable of having the other Nazi leaders to agree to follow the troika's direction.
Hoffman held the report in his hands but Savage waved him off.
"I had anticipated these fools for sometime." Savage said.
"Y-you have?" Hoffman asked in shocked.
Gabriel smiles and soon takes a measuring stick while leaning on the map table.
"While these heroes are a nuisance, they can be dealt with easily if we move quickly to counter them."
He then points to a couple of pieces with numbers on them and looks towards the assembled officers.
"Order 21st Panzer to link up with the Panzer Lehr and 2nd SS Panzer Divisions in supporting the 357th Infantry Division's efforts of combating these interlopers. I believe all three Panzer formations are strengthened, are they?"
"They have been reinforced with Stug. III assault guns and Mk. V Panther tanks as you have ordered a month earlier." General Wilhelm Burgdof, a member of OKW (Whermacht High Command for short) reported.
"Should we send in two of our parachute divisions also?" Hoffman asked.
"Yes, but I want the new Sleepers to be deployed at once." Gabriel said.
Hoffman looked aghast at what weapons Gabriel was referring to.
"But Mein Fuhrer, not all the units are online. Only 40 of the units are ready for combat."
The silent one then whispers a suggestion into his comrade's ears and Gabriel turns to Hoffman.
"Deploy them nonetheless. Also, I am sending along our team of specialists to handle the heroes personally." Gabriel said.
Vandal then cuts in. "Gentlemen, destiny is approaching and not even these six fools can stop us from launching Operation Shadow Twilight. We shall soon win this war and rule the world as we see fit." he said as he walked out of the meeting room.
Gabriel walked passed the generals, taking the report and crushing it in his hands. He didn't even look at it as he did.
"Nobody shall dare oppose the will of Kang Gemini Conquerors and live. Nobody."
The two young men and their Coda bodyguards left the room, following their fuhrer.
Once the group had left, the young messenger who had brought them the news turned to one of the generals, Hoffman, with a concerned face.
"What's wrong, corporal?" Hoffman asked the young man.
"Herr General... the latest report that we received from the front... indicated more than TWENTY beings with magical powers. Not Six."
The generals looked at each other in concern. All were curious as to why the boy who apparently knew about these costumed beings with magical powers had not mentioned that. Did he know, or did he even care?
Hoffman picked up the crumpled paper, opened it up and read it.
It stated that '20+' beings with magical powers were attacking their troops.
Why would Savage say 'six' instead of what was on this paper? He knew about these costumed beings with special powers, but why so little in number? the general thought. Yet he deployed so much against only six. And what's more is that neither boy knew or they would have mentioned it. I have a bad feeling about this.

(Beaches of Normandy)
The soldiers of the Allied Forces were taking heavy casualties as they rushed along the beaches of Normandy, from Utah to Sword. The British forces were hitting Gold and Sword while the Canadian forces were landing at Juno and the American forces were landing at Utah and Omaha. The main landing forces were hitting Omaha Beach, and it was from here that Vandal Savage's forces were preparing to intercept them.
Not simply soldiers and armored tanks, but War Wheels, and a new generation of weapons yet to be unleashed by the Axis.
Fortunately, for everyone, they were not alone in this.
HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
The two teams of heroes, The Justice Guild of America and The Invaders, were standing with John Stewart and the other three female alien Green Lanterns.
"We need to get back to the others." Arisia said.
"But how? Our rings are out of power." Laira said.
"Really? What kind of power?" Tom Turbine asked.
"Energy from the planet Oa's Central Power battery. It's what powers our rings." Soranik explained.
"Perhaps I can help." Green Guardsman said as he raised his ring up. Emerald energies flew forth and split into four paths, striking the four rings, and empowering them again.
All at once, John Stewart, Arisia Rrab, Laira Omoto and Soranik Natu felt their powers rejuvenated.
"Wow! Incredible!" Arisia gasped as she floated in the air once more.
"Looks like a 24-hour charge, at least." John said as he analyzed his ring.
"But how?" Soranik gasped.
"Ours powers are similar, so I figured your rings might accept the energy of mine." Green Guardsman said to them.
"But what about your ring?" Arisia asked.
"Don't worry, Ma'am. My ring is fitted with a special crystal that draws energy from the sun and converts it into emerald energies like yours." Green Guardsman explained.
"Neat! Solar powered power rings." Arisia said happily.
"Yeah. We owe you one for this." Laira said.
"Think nothing of it. We've still got a job to do." Green Guardsman said.
"Right. Let's go!" John Stewart said as he took off into the air.
The two groups of heroes followed him.
Though, 'reinforcements' would have been a better term.
HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
The battle for the city was won. The Allies were starting to press forward as the Nazis were in retreat.
Lois had sighted more War Wheels heading for the coast, so The Avengers and The Justice League were preparing to head there right away.
However, before they could leave, they were met with two additional problems.
The first was the most obvious one.
"I am serious about this, Maxima!" Superman said to the warrior queen. "No killing!"
"Correct me if I'm not mistaken, this is a war! People have, and always will, kill and die in a war." Maxima snapped at the Kryptonian male.
"I have to agree with the princess here." Hawkgirl said. "This isn't like some street gang, or a super villain, shooting at us. Even if they were trying to kill us. This is an actual war!"
"We don't kill. We can't become like them." Superman stated.
"And yet, the American soldiers we are helping are doing the same thing as the German ones." Maxima said.
"Because that's what soldiers do. Especially in a time of war. They're suppose to be here, we're not." Superman said. "We're not soldiers. We're here to turn the tide of war against the Axis and allow the Allies to win on their own. After which we will leave."
"You make it sound so simple. But what if it isn't?" Maxima asked.
"What do you mean?" he asked.
"What if something else happens? What if we cannot leave and we get stuck here?" Maxima asked
"She might have a point." Hawkgirl said, glumly.
While the pair argued back and forth, Captain America and the other heroes arrived, and then saw other people fast approaching them.
Captain America gasped when he saw two more teams of costume-wearing superheroes heading towards them, being lead by John Stewart and the other Green Lanterns.
What's more is that Cap recognized some of them.
"Toro, Namor, Miss America and Spitfire? What are they doing here?" the super soldier asked aloud.
"Do you know them, Captain?" Sif asked.
"Some of them. They were old friends from World War II."
"Are we not in World War II?"
"The World War II of our universe. This is a completely different one."
"I see." Sif replied.
He then noticed the five members of the Justice Guild, looking quite similar to some of the Justice League members.
"Stewart! What's going on here? Who are these people?" Cao asked.
"It's a long story, Captain." John Stewart said. "I don't really believe it myself."
"Steve? Steve!" Spitfire shouted as she raced up and hugged the American super soldier.
Sif just looked miffed at the blond woman hugging the super soldier.
"I don't believe this!" Steve gasped. "You're alive? You're all here?" he gasped, happy to see his old WWII allies. He then noticed the man in the black costume. "But who are you?" the captain asked the man.
"I'm Black Marvel. You don't know me?" the dark-garbed super soldier asked.
"No, I don't. But... all of you seem a little different than the Invaders I knew from before."
"What do you mean?" Namor asked.
"I mean... Where's Union Jack and Golden Girl and The Human Top?"
"Who?" Miss America asked.
"Who?" Toro asked.
"And Who?" Black Marvel asked.
"Okay. What about Whizzer? Thunderer? Destroyer? The android Human Torch?" Steve asked.
"Torch was destroyed by the Hydra Sleeper Robots during our retaking of Florence, Italy." Toro said sadly. "Destroyed them as well."
"Back in '44." Miss America added.
"I'm the Human Torch now." Toro declared.
"That didn't happen in..." he started to say.
"In what?" Spitfire asked.
"In my universe." Steve stated.
"So we do come from different universes." Black Marvel said.
"And now we're here in yet another universe." Captain America added.
"Fighting in another second World War." Toro huffed.
"I'm just loving this!" Spitfire laughed.
"We're all that remained of the Invaders team at the end of '45." Black Marvel said.
"Which also included you and Bucky." Namor added.
"The end of '45? Wait. How did the others die?" Cap asked.
"Whizzer met his end in December of '43 destroying that HYDRA science lab. Those monster mutants of Arnim Zolas would have overrun our troops if he hadn't." Black Marvel said.
"Thunderer died in June, 1944, when the Nazis detonated that dam in Austria. He used his sonic scream to hold the water back as much as possible so that we could evacuate the village." Miss America said.
"Destroyer died in November of '44 defending the royal family of England from a squadron of HYDRA paratroopers." Spitfire said.
"I'm sorry to hear that. They were all good men. But, how did you get here?" Captain America asked the heroes.
"Transdimensional portal from another universe courtesy of your friends with the power rings over there." Miss America said, pointing to the Green Lanterns.
"And from the sound of it, you are from a different universe than the one we're from." Spitfire said.
"Especially since you didn't get pulled along with us when we stormed that Nazi base outside of Strausberg to shut down this weird portal they were trying to activate." Toro said.
"And I was with you? Me and Bucky?" Cap asked.
"Yeah. Strange, right?" Spitfire asked.
"Not that strange." Cap said. "Not after everything I've seen so far."
"Who's this?" Miss America asked, pointing to the warrior woman standing next to Cap.
"This is Lady Sif of Asgard." Cap introduced.
"Greetings, warriors." Sif said with a curt nod.
"Wait, Asgard? From the old Norse legends?" Spitfire asked.
"I assure you, they are no legends." Sif said with a smirk.
"And who are you?" the Captain asked the Justice Guild members.
"We're the Justice Guild of America. I'm The Streak." the man in red with the helmet and goggles said.
"Green Guardsman." the white-haired man in the green and black outfit said.
"Tom Turbine." the shorter man in the yellow and blue outfit said.
"Catman." the man in the black cat-like outfit said.
"Black Siren." the blond woman in the black fishnets and leather said.
"They're good people, Cap. You can trust us on that." John Stewart said.
"Old friends?" Captain America asked.
"Something like that. We've worked together before." GL said.
"Good enough for me." the super soldier said.
"So this is the famous Justice Guild you told us about." Superman said as he approached the group.
Behind him was Wonder Woman, Thor, War Machine, Vixen, and Black Widow.
"In living color." Stewart said. "Justice Guild, I'd like you to meet Superman and Wonder Woman, they're members of our team, the Justice League. Maxima is a warrior queen from another planet. Vixen is one of ours. Thor, War Machine and Black Widow here are members of the Avengers under Captain America." he said, introducing his friends in the League and then the members of the Avengers.
"Black Widow? What kind of name is that for a super hero?" Black Siren asked the redhead.
"I'm Russian." she said with a smile.
"Oh!" the blond gasped.
"Isn't it difficult to move around in that thing?" Tom Turbine asked as he examined War Machines armor.
"Without power, very." Rhodes said after he lifted his faceplate.
"Aren't you cold in that thing?" Black Siren asked Wonder Woman, looking at her outfit.
"It's June, not January." Diana said.
"Are you two related?" Green Guardsman asked Sif and Maxima, indicating their warrior attire and weapons.
"No!" the pair said in unison.
Flash, Hawkgirl and Jonn Jonzz approached the Justice Guild, each of them happy and confused to see them.
"Flash! Hawkgirl! Jonn!" Black Siren said happily as the trio approached the Justice Guild.
"Black Siren? Guardsman? The Streak?" Flash gasped.
"I can't believe it!" Hawkgirl gasped.
"An unexpected yet welcome reunion." Jonn said.
The other heroes were just as shocked.
"Namor?" Hulk gasped, seeing his old Atlantean colleague once again.
"Do I know you?" Namor asked, staring up at the large, muscular, green-skinned figure.
"Guess not." the Hulk grinned.
"Oh, my!" Black Siren gasped when she saw the large and muscular green-skinned man. (At least she thought it was a man) The rest of the Justice Guild looked at Hulk with apprehension.
"Yeah, that's what we thought too." Flash said to Black Siren. "But don't worry. He's on our side. Mostly."
War Machine and Black Widow were just as confused, seeing heroes that were once allies and now perfect strangers.
"Spitfire? Miss America? How is this possible?" Black Widow gasped.
"Do you know us?" the blond speedster asked.
"Captain America has mentioned you." War Machine said. "And we've seen the highlights of the war in our future."
"Well, good to see we got more brothers here." Black Marvel said as he approached War Machine.
"Do we?" War Machine asked as Black Marvel removed his mask to reveal an African-American face. "We do!"
"Hey! What's going on over there?" Black Siren suddenly asked.
The rest of the heroes were standing around one of the damaged War Wheels as Spider-Man was inside the machine, pulling out components and circuitry.
Supergirl and Batgirl were trying to help him.
Outside the War Wheel, a discussion was taking place.
"It's not that bad." Batgirl said.
"How can you say that? Computers, The Internet, Mp3s, all haven't been invented yet. Not to mention the kinda music I like, fashion and even night clubs." Supergirl complained.
"So this is our version of roughing it." Batgirl said with a smirk. "Besides, don't you live in Kansas? On a farm?"
"Clark preferred to live there because he was raised there. I was raised in a more... advanced world." Supergirl grumbled to her friend.
"Yeah, I can see where a 1940s era would be pretty primitive compared to Krypton. Or Argo."
"For right now, I just have to make do." Supergirl sighed.
"And your flexibility is an inspiration to us all." Batgirl said in a teasing tone.
Supergirl just stuck her tongue out at her friend.
Batgirl and Supergirl turned their attention to the large over-turned war machine as the other heroes were slowly gathering around them.
"Speaking of which!" Supergirl said as she pointed to the downed War Wheel.
"How's he doing?" Batgirl asked.
"He's almost done." Supergirl said, using her x-ray vision to see what Spider-Man was doing. "Boy he's limber. Look at how he's squirming through..."
"Kara!" Batgirl hissed.
"What?!"
"First of all I can't see into this thing like you can. Secondly, this is neither the time nor place to be having this conversation."
"You can be such a prude sometimes!" the Kryptonian mocked the redhead.
"And you can be such a hedonist at times." the redheaded vigilante stated.
"That's why we're such good friends." the blond smiled widely.
The members of The Justice League, The Avengers, The Justice Guild and the Invaders approached and surrounded the War Wheel.
"Who the heck are these guys and gals?" Supergirl asked.
Introductions were made. Though some obvious comparisons were quickly brought up.
"Where's Spider-Man?" Widow asked.
"In there." Supergirl said, pointing to the War Wheel.
"What is he doing?" Wonder Woman asked, seeing various pieces of the machines flying out of the War Wheel.
"Trying to analyze the components that were used in these things, hoping to find something useful to help us out later." Batgirl said.
"That's great, but do we even have time for this?" Hawkgirl asked.
Spider-Man popped his head out of the large machine with something in his hands.
"Found it!" the webslinger said, holding up the metal and plastic pieces he was looking for.
He paused when he noticed several more costumed individuals around him.
"Oh. We have more company." he said as he saw Namor the Submariner standing with four other people he didn't know, but had heard about. "What's Namor doing here?" he asked.
"He knows me too?" The Submariner asked, somewhat at a disadvantage.
"You're pretty infamous where we come from." Black Widow said to him.
"I see." he said, slightly amused.
"You found something?" Batgirl asked the webslinger.
"Yeah. Here." He handed the pieces to Batgirl as he crawled out.
"Are these what I think they are?" Batgirl asked when she saw what she was holding.
"Yeah. Transistors and circuit boards. And I even found a couple of microchips inside here." Spider-Man said as he sat down on the large red War Wheels side. He then noticed the new heroes standing around him. "Uh, hi. I'm Spider-Man. Who are you guys?"
"We're the Justice Guild of America." The Streak said.
"This is The Streak, Green Guardsman, Tom Turbine, Catman and Black Siren." Hawkgirl said as she named each of the five newcomers.
"Old friends, I take it?" Spider-Man asked as he pulled a laptop out from a back-pack he had with him.
"Something like that." she said.
Green Lantern then approached Batgirl and Supergirl.
"Transistors? Microchips? They weren't invented until after the war. Long after." John Stewart said as he took note of what Batgirl was holding.
"The scientists in Savage's lab said that the portal was unstable. Who ever used it before us might have gotten here months ago. Maybe years." Jonn Jonzz said.
"Makes sense. These machines would have required a lot of prep time, especially for this era. But what good does that do us now?" Hawkgirl asked.
"Yes, what are you looking for, son?" The Streak asked the webslinger.
"These microchips contain information that we can use." Spider-Man said as he sorted through the chips that he had handed to Batgirl.
"Where did you get that?" Batgirl asked, pointing to the laptop.
"I snagged it from Savages Lab before we got teleported here. It's got a Solar-Panel recharge system, so I don't need to find a plugin." Spider-Man said as he started to integrate the microchips into the laptop using special clips and wires.
"Not that there are any around here." she said looking at the devastated town.
"Handy, this guy." John Stewart said, pointing to Spider-Man.
"Always is." Captain America replied.
"So, what do you got?" Hawkgirl asked.
"Mostly command functions for the War Wheels. But this might be... oh, god!"
"What's wrong?"
"Check it out." he said as he turned the laptop around for everyone to see. "This chip has detailed plans of the Allies invasion of Normandy. Dates and Times, landing locations, troop numbers. Everything." Spider-Man said as the other heroes looked it over.
"Oh, Man! He's right. This is the Allied Forces landing strategy for Omaha, Gold, Sword, Utah and Juno Beaches." War Machine said.
"Knowledge of the future." Jonn Jonzz said.
"That's how Savage won the war." Superman said.
"Who's this Savage they keep talking about?" Catman asked.
"Beats me." Green Guardsman said.
"He's the current Fuhrer of Germany." Jonn Jonzz explained to the pair.
"Knowledge of the future. On top of using these War Wheels." Spider-Man said, changing the screen to blueprints.
(Whistle) Tom Turbine whistled as he saw the schematics and designs.
"There no telling what else Savage could have come up with future knowledge." Green Lantern said.
"Sorry. The chip only has information about the Normandy Invasion and info about the War Wheels." Spider-Man said.
"An awful lot just for a recently made microchip." Black Widow said.
"But it makes sense." Spitfire said.
"Okay. So what do we do now?" Black Marvel asked.
"Guys!" Lois shouted as she landed next to the group. "More of those War Wheels are heading for the Normandy coast. The Allies are getting pounded."
She then noticed more costumed heroes standing with the League and the Avengers.
"Who are these guys?" she asked.
"Tell you later." Superman said to her.
"Who is this?" The Streak asked, pointing to Lois.
"This is..." Superman started to say.
"Call me Blackbird." Lois said.
"Uh, right." Superman added.
"We've broken through the Axis lines here, but there are still a lot of troops in trouble." Captain America said.
"Looks like we're going to have to split up." John Stewart said. "Mostly to the Normandy coast."
"I'll head to Berlin. I suspect the answer to this problem lies there." Jonn Jonzz said.
"I'll go with you. Infiltration is my speciality. And if need be, I can pass for German easily enough." Black Widow said.
"Can you sound like one?" Jonn asked.
("Jawohl, Mein Martian.") she said in a perfect German accent.
"Me too! You might need the back-up." Miss America said.
The group looked at each other in confusion. As if wondering why someone who had just gotten here would be willing to throw themselves in with people they had just met.
"Are you sure about this, Maddy?" Black Marvel asked Miss America.
"Yes." Miss America said with conviction. "Besides, I've been to Berlin, once."
"But they were shooting at you last time." Toro said.
"That's because they knew me in that world. Here, they don't." she said.
"They might still shoot at you." Hawkgirl said, pointing at her costume.
"I can handle it." she said.
"Okay." Black Widow said.
"You're awfully trusting of these new people pretty quick, aren't you?" Hawkgirl said to Natasha.
"We're in the thick of war, everything is a quick judgment. Plus, Steve seems to trust these people, and I trust him." Black Widow said.
"Go! We'll handle things here." Superman said.
A silent consensus seemed to form pretty quickly amongst the large group. With that, the team split up.
HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Captain America and the Avengers were headed straight for the Normandy beaches with the Justice League trailing behind them. The other Green Lanterns, THe newly arrived Justice Guild and the rest of The Invaders were on their way as well.
The heroes that could fly and move at super speed had arrived first.
Superman, War Machine, Vixen, Thor, Wonder Woman, Hawkgirl, Flash, The Streak and Spitfire were helping the Allied soldiers who were trying to land their forces on the beach.
The problem was that they were being fired upon by Nazi soldiers positioned in bunkers on the cliff tops of the beach, as well as by the tanks and War Wheels that were heading towards their location.
Fortunately, the soldiers were quick to be reinforced by the costumed heroes of four different teams.
Superman, Maxima, Hawkgirl, John Stewart and Flash were at Utah Beach.
Captain America, Sif, Thor, Wonder Woman, War Machine, Vixen and Hulk were at Omaha Beach.
The Green Lanterns Arisia, Natu and Laira were flying back and forth between Utah and Omaha providing air cover.
Spider-Man, Batgirl, Supergirl, Blackbird and Shield were at Gold Beach.
The Invaders - Toro, Spitfire, Namor and Black Marvel - were at Juno Beach.
The Justice Guild -The Streak, Green Guardsman, Tom Turbine, Catman and Black Siren - were at Sword Beach helping the Allies push forward.
And while this was going on, Jonn Jonzz flew towards Berlin, with Black Widow in his arms, and a flying Miss America right along side him.
HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
The heroes raced towards the coastline, blasting Nazi tanks and vehicles as they went, until they reached the beaches.
Everyone had split up as best they could, to cover more ground and help as many as they could.
At Gold Beach, where the 50th British Division was landing, a supply truck was kicking up sand from the beach it was on. It was heading back towards the ships when it had got its back wheels stuck in the sand.
Supergirl was flying back towards the beach with Batgirl and Spider-Man under her arms when they came upon the scene.
Spider-Man wriggled out of the female Argosian's grip and dropped down behind the truck. He gripped the back of the truck and heaved it out of the sand.
"Come on, boys, Go! Drive it like you stole it!" Spider-Man shouted to the truck driver before the vehicle pulled away across the beach. The soldiers waved their thanks to the arachnid hero.
As the vehicle pulled away, a pair of beautiful young heroines just looked at him.
"What?" he asked.
"'Drive it like you stole it'?" Batgirl asked in an amused tone.
"I got it from a movie." he said.
"Movie?" Supergirl asked.
"And here I thought you made it up yourself." Batgirl said.
"Well, I can't be responsible for every good one-liner." he said with a shrug.
Blackbird flew ahead while Shield used his energy field to protect a group of soldiers being fired upon.
Batgirl helped direct another group of soldiers while Supergirl and Spider-Man continued to help get the trucks moving.

From his radio room on The USS Satterlee, the Signal Corps Sergeant Stanley Martin Lieber was patching up a communication wire on the Gleaves-class Destroyer.
'Hey, Stan! You Gotta Get Up Here!" a voice, belonging to Corporal Theodor Geisel, shouted at him from the open deck.
"What's wrong? I'm a little busy here!" Stanley shouted back.
"There's a bunch of superheroes fighting the Nazis!"
"What?" he gasped, getting up from his seat.
"Yeah, take a look." the Corporal said as he handed the thick binoculars to the sergeant.

(Utah Beach)
Superman, Maxima, Hawkgirl, John Stewart and Flash were at Utah Beach helping the American forces advance.
That's when a new series of robots arrived, backed by more Panzer tanks arrive.
Superman gasped when he saw them.
They were 15-feet tall, dark green with a bright red circle in the middle of their chest, and the black swastika symbol in the center. The robot, more an advanced suit of armor, had a heavy gattling gun as its left arm while it's right arm was a large hand capable of wrapping around a human torso.
Superman saw twenty of these armored suits marching along towards them. He could also see that they were being piloted by human beings inside.
Maxima and the others looked up and saw hundreds of paratroopers heading for them as well.
"It seems our need to kill will be tested." Maxima said to the Kryptonian.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
(Juno Beach)
The Invaders - Toro, Spitfire, Namor and Black Marvel - were helping the Canadian forces push through the beach defenses.
The landings were going well. There had been some casualties, but the majority of the invading forces were making their way across the beaches.
Toro stopped and hovered in mid-air as he saw ten heavily armored robots advancing towards the Canadian troopers.
Panzers and paratroopers were apparently following them.
"INVADERS! PREPARE FOR COUNTER ATTACK!" Toro shouted to his teammates.

(Sword Beach)
The British 3rd Division was landing with ease, mostly thanks to the efforts of The Justice Guild.
The Streak was clearing as many enemy forces on the cliffs and beach area as he could.
Green Guardsman was providing cover to the landing troops that were being fired upon.
Tom Turbine, Black Siren and Catman were helping out with the rest of the landing, making sure the injured men were covered and protected.
Just then, Green Guardsman looked over and from his position in the sky he saw something ominous approaching them.
It looked to be a group of ten large robots, green in color with the Nazi symbol on their chests.
He also several Panzers and paratroopers arriving as well.
"Justice Guild! We Have Enemy Incoming!" he shouted as he regrouped with his teammates.
The Streak stood in the middle of the five heroes, staring at the advancing heavy-armored robot suits. They also saw the advancing tanks and paratroopers heading towards them and the British soldiers.
"Well, here we go again. Justice Guild...!" Streak said with gusto.
"GO FOR IT!" the quartet shouted in unison.

(Omaha Beach)
The new transport planes and the paratroopers were launching, doing their jobs. Looking down at the carnage on the beach, the white-haired warrior woman, Zealot, knew that it would not be enough. Her piercing blue eyes took in the battle and her targets.
Zealot didn't like this, serving the Nazis and the Kang Twins, but she had her reasons.
At least she thought she did.
Dressed in a red-leather battle suit that showed some of her unblemished skin, she gripped her two katana swords and prepared to leap into battle.
To her right was Karis, another female warrior woman, with dark brown hair, dressed in dark blue and wearing an overcoat to cover her body.
Then there was Faroa, a Kryptonian woman dressed in thick black armor and leather with knives at her sides and a small cape wavering behind her.
Omega Red - a pale-skinned, red-armored man who was large and muscular, long blond hair and piercing red eyes. His retractable tentacles had the ability to generate electricity but also his infamous death spores with which he used to kill people.
There was also Sinestro, a former Green Lantern turned villain, he was red-skinned, black-haired, and wore a yellow and black suit with a glowing yellow ring on his left hand.
Cheetah, a humanoid cat woman with yellowish fur and black spots on her body, a long tail extending from her tailbone, sharp fangs extending from her teeth, as well as sharp claws on her hands and feet.
Dr. Light, a devious and ruthless criminal foe of the Teen Titans, he was dressed in a white and black outfit, with what looked like a lightbulb symbol on his chest, and possessed the metahuman ability to project powerful bolts of light from his hands.
The last was Crossbones, a muscular and ruthless hitman and mercenary who wore a black and white outfit with a skull mask and white X across his black armored chest. He carried various weapons on his person such as knives and guns.
"Let's go." Zealot said to the group.
HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
(Omaha Beach)
"The trucks and their soldiers are on the move, Captain." Thor said as the parade of landing troops were finally passed the concrete walls and barricades along the beach.
"Good, Thor. We need to make sure they have a clear path to Paris and then on to Berlin." Captain America said as Hulk carried two truck towards the barriers over his head, one in each hand.
"What about the other beaches?" Wonder Woman asked.
"Yeah. Savage was well-prepared. He knows we're coming." Vixen said. "No telling what else he might have planned for us."
"Heads Up! I Think We're About To Find Out!" War Machine shouted.
The group looked up and saw more than a dozen aircraft flying towards them.
"Look! Paratroopers!" Vixen shouted as she looked up into the sky.
The team looked up and saw over a dozen transports dropping hundreds of parachuting soldiers down onto the beaches.
"Cap, those paratroopers are getting dropped all over. From Utah to Sword!" War Machine said.
"Then we need to clear them out." Captain America said. "This is more than what we were expecting."
"Are we going to actively get involved in this war?" War Machine asked.
"I don't think we have a choice. Because this... isn't the same war I fought in so long ago."
"Thor! We need to push them back!" War Machine said, pointing to the paratroopers.
"To The Skies!" The god of thunder shouted as he hurled Mjolnir into the air, himself getting pulled off the ground and into the invaders midst.
War Machine flew after his comrade, his weapons targeting the transports while Thor whipped up a hurricane that knocked back all the paratroopers that would have landed on the beaches.
On the ground, Captain America, Sif, Wonder Woman, Vixen and Hulk (who was newly arrived) were looking as their teammates were decimating the oncoming forces.
"Thank Hera they are on our side." Wonder Woman said.
"Yeah. And we're gonna need them." Vixens said as she peered across the battlefield that was Omaha Beach.
The group stared across where she was staring, all gasping when they saw a group of eight costumed individuals rushing across the open beach. A slew of bodies behind them, American 4th Division.
Captain America instantly recognized Crossbones and Omega Red. The others he didn't know.
Thor and War Machine landed next to their allies as the group lined up.
"Well, well, well. What do we have here?" Hulk asked in a slightly amused tone.
"I see Crossbones and Omega Red." War Machine said.
"Sinestro! Dr. Light!" Vixen gasped when she saw two of the other villains.
"And Cheetah!" Wonder Woman growled at one of her nemesis.
"Who the heck are the other guys?" Vixen asked.
"Not sure... but I think we all know who's side they are on." War Machine said.
"That is good to know." Sif said as she gripped her sword.
Cap stared at the woman in red with the white hair. She appeared to be the leader of this group. She would need to be taken alive.
"Eight-to-seven, in their favor. Crossbones is mine." Cap said.
"I'll take the warrior women." Sif said as she gripped her sword.
"I'll take the yellow-glowing guy." War Machine said.
"I guess the angry Russian is mine." Hulk grinned.
"Leave Cheetah to me!" Wonder Woman said.
"No offense, but I think the armored woman there is out of my weight class." Vixen said.
Wonder Woman looked at the armored woman who was stomping towards them, lifting two large metal X-shaped barricades on the beach and bent them into crude steel balls. She hefted them behind her with all the ease of tossing a piece of paper in the trash.
"Right." Wonder Woman agreed.
The eight supervillains stood opposite of the seven heroes. The man covered in yellow aura and the armored woman were now hovering over them.
The white-haired woman raised one of her swords and aimed it at the heroes.
"Kill Them All!" Zealot shouted.
The two groups charged at one another, War Machine and Thor taking off into the air. Captain America raced down the middle with Sif and Wonder Woman right besides him. Hulk was off to the left, while Vixen dodged to the right.
The two groups collided with each other in spectacular fashion. So much so it caused everyone else on the beach to stop their fighting and watch.
Sif gripped her sword tightly as she blocked the attacks of the two Coda assassins. The pair were formidable, Sif could tell, so she pushed herself to move faster.
Captain America hurled his shield away from Crossbones, however, the muscular assassin knew from experience that the super soldiers shield was not a mere distraction. He paused and looked around the beach, seeing the shield slam into various barricades, and fly right back to the Captains arm. However, when he turned back to face the Captain he was met with a red gloved fist to his face. The blow stunned him, which was followed up with a flurry of punches and kicks that the skull-faced assassin could not block in time.
Sinestro and War Machine were firing hard at each other. The power ring wielder shielding himself better than the armored avenger was. His energy ring protected him from several of the bullets and rockets War Machine fired at him, while he fired off his own yellow energy bolts at the ever dodging armored avenger.
Omega Red was grappling with The Hulk, his carbonadium coils wrapping around the green goliath's neck and trying to both choke him to death. He tried to force as many of his Death Spores into the Hulk's body, but the superhuman regenerative powers of the green goliath negated that. That, and Hulk looked more annoyed at what Omega Red was trying to do.
Dr Light and Thor were battling it out, though the light-emitting scientist wasn't fairing too well against the god of thunder.
Vixen powered up her animals, everything from wolf to tiger to lion to cheetah itself, as she took on the feral Cheetah in a truly savage catfight. While Vixen couldn't use all her animals at once, she could jump between them with ease. Despite this, Cheetah was every bit as savage as she had heard.
Dr Light kept firing his energy bolts at Thor, the god of thunder effortlessly throwing a backhand that knocked him to the ground.
"Come on, old man! Show me what you got!" Crossbones shouted as he fired his machine guns at the super soldier.
Captain America wasted no words as he charged towards the skull-faced mercenary, his shield deflecting the bullets and acting as a battering ram, knocking Crossbones down. Cap was on him in a second, wailing on his foe with fists like steel.
Wonder Woman flew through the air and kicked the black armored woman in the stomach. Faora just grinned as she shook off the blow and threw several punches towards her. Diana blocked and deflected the punches before punching her foe in the face.
War Machine wasn't getting through the shield of his power-ring wielding adversary. That was, until a barrage of lightning blasted him from behind.
"What?" Sinestro gasped as he saw Thor attack him with his hammer.
Sif deflected her enemies swords away from her while avoiding the bladed lance of the other woman who tried to stab her from behind. She leapt over the dark-haired woman and kicked her in the back before she landed. She brought her sword up and deflected the twin swords that the white-haired woman wielded, before forcing her back with her brute strength. The dark-haired warrior attacked her again, but Sif spun around, avoiding the lance and elbowing her in the jaw when she was close enough to her.
Hulk gripped Omega Reds coils and slammed him repeatedly into the ground again and again until the Russian mutant was out like a light.
Vixen and Cheetah were both glaring at each other, their bodies covered in scars and slash marks. They were breathing heavy, but neither was prepared to go down just yet.
And the fight was far from over.

Spider-Man, Batgirl, Supergirl, Lois and Jimmy were at Gold Beach which was closest to Omaha.
"That's the last of our trucks!" Batgirl said as the soldiers of the 50th British Division continued to advance.
"Good. Now we just have to confirm the other beaches have..." Spider-Man said, before Supergirl flew up to them.
"Hey! Something's going on over there!" Supergirl shouted as she landed and pointed off towards the far south.
"Unless I'm mistaken... that's Omaha beach." Spider-Man said.
"Captain America and the others are being attacked!" Supergirl said.
"By who?" Batgirl asked.
"A bunch of supervillains it looks like." the kryptonian girl said.
"What? Let's go!" Spider-Man said.
Supergirl grabbed Spider-Man and Batgirl around their waists and lifted off into the air.
Blackbird grabbed Shield and flew after the trio.

Wonder Woman flew through the air, throwing a series of kicks and punches that were pushing the armored woman back. Diana had no idea who this person was, but her powers seemed to be on par with that of Superman. Though her fighting style was definitely military in nature. The woman then moved with incredible speed, punching Wonder Woman in the gut and face.
Faroa smiled as Wonder Woman wiped a line of blood from her lips.
"You have impressive fighting skills, amazon. But I am a Kryptonian." she declared.
"Kryptonian?" Diana gasped.
"Yes. And I am far stronger than you."
"Then how about I tap in!" Supergirl shouted as she flew towards her.
"Wha...?" Faora suddenly gasped when a steel-hard fist slammed into her at super-sonic speed.
PUNCH!
"OOOMFF!" she shouted as she went flying across the beach.
The angry Kryptonian woman groaned as she shook off the punch and tried to lift herself off the ground. No one sucker-punched her like that and got away with it.
Faora was about to get up when she was forcefully pressed down into the ground. She struggled to push herself up, but found herself unable to.
She looked behind her as best she could and saw something lying on her back.
A hammer!
"What?" she gasped.
She looked over and saw a large muscular man with blond hair in a blue outfit wearing a red cape and a silver helmet with wings standing before her.
"Apologies." the man said. "Normally I would not interfere with a battle between warriors, but we have more important matters to tend to."
Faora looked over and saw that her comrades were lying around the beach, defeated.
The shield-wielder called Captain America was punching out Crossbones. The skull-faced merc was groaning, but not moving to get up.
The sword-wielding Asgardian Sif was pinning Karis to the ground, the Coda warrior struggling to get up. The white-haired woman was entangled in some kind of webbing.
Dr Light was covered in similar webbing being projected from a man wearing red and blue with a black spider on his chest.
Omega Red was tied up with his own coils courtesy of the large green man in the torn shorts. He was now bending a steel beam around him to keep his arms and legs contained.
Sinestro was lying in a smoking crater and looking like he had been hit with a barrage of lightning bolts.
Cheetah was unconscious as well, the blond girl who had struck her from behind had bent one of the X-shaped barricades around her, keeping her contained.
"Gonna need a couple more of these." the blond girl said as she went over to grab more steel beams and brought them over to her teammates.
Faora then noticed that Zealot had a golden lasso around her neck, held by the amazon she had been fighting.
She noticed a handful of newcomers had arrived on the beach as well.
Supergirl had bent the steel beams around Crossbones and Sinestro and was preparing to do the same to Karis.
"Now, warrior, talk!" Wonder Woman said as she held the lasso in her hand. "Who are you and why did you attack us?"
Zealot struggled to resist, but the heat from the lasso was becoming painful.
"I am Zealot. A Coda Warrior. I was brought here to this dimension by the Kang Twins." Zealot said.
"The who?" Batgirl asked.
"They are allies of Vandal Savage." she explained. "They are from outside this time."
"You were, along with your comrades here, were brought in from another dimension?" Captain America asked.
"Some were brought here from the future of this world." she said. "And they are not my comrades. They were mind-controlled to serve Vandal Savage and the Twins."
"Like you are?" Wonder Woman asked.
"Yes." she said.
"Then... I release you!" she said as the golden lasso started glowing again.
Zealot's eyes flashed brightly and she screamed as the mind-control was broken.
Wonder Woman removed her lasso.
"Uh... is that a good idea?" Jimmy Olsen asked.
"She is free of their mind-control. She will not give us any trouble. Will you, Zealot?" she asked the Coda warrior.
"No. I want nothing more to do with you... or the Third Reich." she spat. "However... could you do the same to her?" she asked, pointing to Karis. "She is my sister."
"Of course." Diana said as she moved over to Karis who was being restrained by Sif.
Zealot continued to sit on the beach, her wrists and legs still bound by the webbing.
"We still have questions." Captain America said to the white-haired woman.
"The Twins did not tell me all of their plans. I was only... a warrior for their own purposes." she said with some degree of shame.
"Then tell us what you do know."
Zealot told them as much as she could. About the Kang Twins, Vandal Savage, who was less respectful to his general and commanders than the old Fuhrer had been. She told them about the weapons that Savage had created because he had knowledge and information from the future. How he had this information, she didn't know.
"Apart from his new Sleeper battle suits and his Vulture attackers and paratroopers, as well as his War Wheels, Savage and the Twins also knew about you. He and the twins were prepared for your arrival. They each had their own teams of superhumans. Savage sent my team to deal with you."
"Yeah, but we stopped you." Supergirl said, smugly.
"You don't understand! We weren't the only superhumans Savage had ready to deploy. Now that we have failed, The Twins will unleash their own team of superhumans against you." Zealot said.
"Their own team? What about you and these guys?" Batgirl asked.
"We were conditioned to serve Savage and the Third Reich. A team of specialists to handle various threats to his regime, meant to deal with the SIX Justice League members who came back in time to stop him. The Twins, however, have their own team of super warriors. Their last offensive."
Captain America and the others didn't like the sound of that. These eight had given them a fight. And apparently they were prepared to handle only six superheroes, not the twenty+ heroes that were here now. If there were more, on the side of the Third Reich...
"Who are these other superhumans?" War Machine asked.
"They are called The Squadron Supreme. And they are far more powerful and numerous than we are." Zealot said with utter dismay.
