Chapter names are screwed up.

ANOTHER time line/plot fixing chapter so its long. I am such a mess, but my time line is getting cleaner as I am forced to put more events down each chapter, leavnig me with less to deal with for next chapter.

Also sorry for taking so long, I got caught up on song choices during the writing! But I am on spring break and I would like to write the next chapter while I'm still on it, since I am re-writing my timeline now and am out of pre-written content, pretty much.

You guys probably heard about the coronavirus already, and because of it, University classes are going online, and I have one more week of spring break, so hopefully I can get my chapters up during this time. Also, STAY SAFE AND HEALTHY EVERYONE, wash your hands often!

En Saturno - Pablo Alboran (isn't it pretty? Don't look up the english lyrics, it just sounds so nice as a serenade!)

Fireflies - Owl City

Where is the love - Black eyed Peas

Hands and Hearts- Aamitymae (suggested by (ao3)Idonotexistignoreme)

Bells and Whistles Chapter 19

TUI chapter 6 - Doki Doki Hearto

"And now breath out." Leorio instructed with warm authority. Gon let out the breath, relaxing against the stethoscope Leorio had positioned against his back. "Alright! You sound better. This week, try to practice your lower octaves to widen your vocal cords." Leorio instructed. Gon beamed at him.

"Thanks Leorio!" Gon grinned.

"And stop coming in here so often! I'm not your personal vocal doctor!" Leorio scolded Gon, although it did not have real bite behind it.

"Oh, please, Leorio, if I didn't come see you all the time, I don't think you'd have any other patients to treat! I'm your best customer!" Gon teased, kicking his legs up on the medical loft.

"You're not a customer, because you're not paying me." Leorio said, rubbing two fingers together to mime money between his grip.

Gon did not realize there was a nurse at school with advanced knowledge on treating singing and performing injuries until he heard the buzz from hallway gossip. The new nurse was hired because he was more specialized to understand what students might get themselves into, and Leorio was a better fit for Gon to ask for medical advice rather then his general doctor Gon usually went to. And for free too, since it was included in the school's tuition. Not that he was paying for that either. Gon chuckled sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck.

"I'd come see you anyways because we're friends anyhow." Gon said, leaping off the bed.

"Mh… how's your company search going?" Leorio asked, taking off his gloves and washing his hands. Gon slumped at the mention of his next goal.

"I'm still looking… My resume is getting pretty rounded out now, so I don't think they can resist me much longer!" Gon said, getting determined again, gripping his fist. Leorio laughed at his friend being so enthusiastic.

"Oh… Oh, did I tell you about that job yet…?" Leorio muttered to himself in thought. Gon blinked over at Leorio.

"Job?" Gon asked, going to Leorio's side, curious.

"I didn't?! Oh, Where's my head, Dios Mio," Leorio huffed under his breath then turned to Gon drying his hands. "There is an up and coming singer, Hariah Mill. She's making a music video and she's hiring local dancers to support the community. I gave her your contact information and she's interested if you're available!" Leorio grinned.

"Seriously?!" Gon cried, a wide smile on his face. Being in an actual produced and widely seen professional music video!? A huge score to his resume! "Leorio, you're amazing!" Gon cried and jumped on him in a hug. Leorio laughed, hugging back.

"Anything for my number one customer!" He grinned.

"I'm not paying you~!" Gon teased, pulling back. "I have to tell Killua! Ok, I'll see you next week, wow, bye!" Gon ran off, whooping, giving a fright to a couple of students lingering in the hall outside. Leorio chuckled. He loved Gon, but he was so worrisome sometimes. But Gon did mean well and he was bright, and Leorio didn't know anyone else he hoped would make it big in the music industry.

"Hey, Gon, are you going to the school's Valentine's Day Mixer?" One of Gon's fans asked. They were apart of a group that had taken to following Gon around in the mornings before Killua shows up and scares everyone off. Gon blinked and turned to look back at the person.

"Valentine's day mix…" He muttered. "Eh? Is it that time already?" Gon asked, slapping his hands over his cheeks. Of course, that makes sense! They're already been in school for a month since they came back from Winter break. But he's been so distracted from trying to find connections and get hired, he forgot where the time went.

"When is it?" He asked.

"Since this Valentine's day falls on a Saturday, the school entertainment planning committee was able to set it up that evening." She answered with heart eyes. They loved being fans for Gon, he actually interacted with them and gave them attention where other large name and adored students usually ignore or passively acknowledge their fans. Gon made their relationship feel personalized, like they were friends. What a kind idol!

"Ah, really…?" He scrunched his nose and some girls giggled and squealed at how cute he was. "Well, then I don't think I can go." He admitted with a sheepish smile. The girls expressed superficial disappointment.

"Do you have something planned for Killua?!" One squealed like the fan girl she was. Gon's smile turned sideways, a secret glint in his eye.

"I do. But keep it a secret, ok?" He shushed them playfully and the fans all nodded with excited seriousness. Then they squealed, caught, and ran from Gon. Gon chuckled a bit and turned knowingly to find Killua approaching, a slight scowl on his face.

"I still don't know why you let them bother you." Killua said, stopping by Gon's side and sliding his hands in his pockets. Gon laughed, Killua could be so cold sometimes.

"It's not like that, though! They don't bother me at all. I like their company, it makes me feel like I'm actually popular!" Gon said.

"Gon, you are popular." Killua said flatly.

"They were just asking about Valentine's day." Gon said, ignoring that bit purposely. "It's coming up, you know." He said. Gon could see Killua's cheeks color as he looked off. It would be Killua's first time with a partner on Valentine's day and he hated how his heart flipped when he was thinking about how he had someone to spend it with this time.

"Well… yea, I was actually trying to plan how we'll spend it together." Killua said, going for nonchalant. Killua waited for Gon's excited comeback, but looked over when Gon stayed quiet a beat too long. Gon had a guilty look on his face as he looked anywhere else but Killua. Killua frowned, feeling anxiety gnaw on his nerves from Gon's hesitation. Did Gon rather not do something on Valentine's day? Was it not like him to celebrate something so cheesy? What was Killua thinking, this is Gon who got him a giant roof of flowers to ask him out to a dance, of course Gon does romantic. Is it because it's Killua? Is Gon over him already? Should Killua be bracing for a breakup on Valentine's day? He wouldn't be able to handle that, he's such a sap-

"I… sorry, Killua, but is it ok if we push up the plans? So that it's before Valentine's day? I don't want to mess up your plans, but I can't do it on Valentine's day." Gon said, interrupting Killua's down spiral thoughts. Killlua blinked.

"O-oh? Oh, yea sure, it's… it's not like I made reservations or anything." Killua said, rubbing the back of his head. Killua felt a bit sheepish that he thought Gon would suddenly stop liking him for some reason. "Um, but, can I ask why you don't want to do it on Valentine's day?" Killua asked. Gon's face brightened up beautifully and Killua blinked, trying not to get blinded by that dazzling smile.

"Actually! I have pre-arranged plans for that day! And actually, I was hoping you would come with me!" Gon said, hooking arms with Killua and starting their walk to class. Killua stumbled to follow him.

"Plans? What plans?" What could Gon have planned that wasn't a date on that day?

"On Valentine's day, I'm going back to my old after school club, Crossroad!" Gon said, grinning back at Killua. Killua blinked before tilting his head in confusion.

"Your… why?" He asked.

"Well, I don't know how well I can explain it right now…" Gon admitted. "But when I was younger, and me and Mito were going through a rough patch, she had to work more hours, and had little money to hire a babysitter or anything. As you know, we don't really have any family out here, and no one had time to carve out to watch me, so she enrolled me to a boys and girls after school club where I could go when she couldn't pick me up and when I knew she wouldn't be home. It was mostly for people of color who don't exactly have the best stability in their lives. It's like a safe haven for them to sort of get away from it all and stay off the streets, you know? We were given snacks and the other kids and teens there became like family to me as we hung out, we watched each other's backs and grew close." Gon explained.

Killua nodded as he listened attentively. It could surprise someone how little the two teens actually talk about their past with each other, but Killua loved hearing any bit of it when Gon told him, it just showed the growing trust between them. And Killua knew he could spend a long time learning everything there is to know about Gon.

"I especially liked going there because while I was usually ostracized at school for not having enough money to hang out, I was less likely to be judged when I was there. It felt safe and like a second home. I don't go to that school zone anymore and I… I didn't need to go to Crossroads as often anymore, but I still think of them all as my really good friends! So what I decided to do was organize support and special topics events in which I would pop in every so often to check in with them and help anyone talk about stuff they are going through. You know, help them get it off their chest with people who could relate or might be going through the same situation." Gon said, "And I organized a Valentine event to spend it with those who might not get enough love this Valentine." He said.

"Wow…" Killua said softly, barely realizing they made it to his classroom. Gon was amazing, but then again, Killua already knew that. "And you want me to come?" Killua asked, looking over at Gon.

"Yes! I would love that! I can introduce you to all my friends and we can chill in a cool environment." Gon said. Killua nodded.

"What would I need to do?" Killua asked, preparing himself for this in his head. It was important to Gon and Killua wanted to do well and make a good impression.

"You don't have to do anything. Just be there. Some might even be fans of yours, so it could be cool to give them a chance to talk to you. Besides that, we just play games, eat some snacks, and even sing a little." Gon said, wiggling his eyebrows. The minute bell rang and Killua looked up briefly before looking back at Gon.

"Then of course I can make it dummy. Go to class before you're late. I'll talk to you later, ok?" Killua said, shoving Gon off one way. Gon laughed.

"Whoo! Thanks Killua! See you at lunch!" He called and jogged down the hall, waving hello at some other students. Killua smiled from the door of his classroom. How did he deserve someone so amazing as Gon…? Killua ducked into the classroom. Killua will try and make this Valentine day for Gon amazing.

1:39 pm I'm calling in my favor.

Killua frowned down at his phone, the message alert appearing and blocking his phone screen where Killua was trying to find romantic places for a picnic. A favor for Milluki that Killua owed him from back in the fall because Milluki helped Gon with his music stuff. Killua didn't know what it was but…

He readied his thumbs over his screen keyboard and typed out, What do you need?

-0-0-0-0-

"Huh?" Gon asked, blinking owlishly at Killua who was the one smiling sheepishly this time.

"I kinda need to change our date day again." Killua said looking off. "Can you do Friday before Valentine's?" Killua asked. Gon raised an amused eyebrow.

"Sure, I shouldn't have any issues with that but… what happened?" Gon asked. Killua scoffed quietly.

"So, Milluki needs my help wooing a girl, basically." Killua said with a small groan.

"Huh? Milluki?!" Gon said.

"You say that like he's the smoothest casanova who doesn't need help." Killua said scrunching his nose. Gon laughed.

"I just didn't think he would ask… you of all people for relationship advice." Gon said. "Doesn't he think you're a brat or something?"

"Oh, don't worry, he's not asking me for relationship advice." Killua grumbled. "But he can recognize that I do have the best voice in the family." Killua sighed, closing his eyes.

"Ah, you're serenading during their date like a paid violinist?" Gon asked. Killua groaned again and shook his head.

"I wish. I'll let you know a hidden talent of mine." Killua said, putting a hand on Gon's shoulder. "I can mimic people's voices pretty well." He said. Gon blinked.

"Seriously?" Gon asked lowly, intrigued. Killua nodded.

"The vocal cords are just an instrument, and I learned at a young age how to tune it to hit chords that sound like others'." Killua said. He was pretty bored back then, he had the time to practice.

"No way!" Gon gushed, utterly impressed once again with his impressive boyfriend. "Do me! Do me!" He said, hopping. Killua let out an amused laugh, despite the circumstances he was sucked into because of this. Killua cleared his throat and squinted at Gon in consideration.

"Say something." Killua requested.

"Wow, that was so good-!" Gon cried excited, squeezing his eyes shut.

"SHUT UP, Gon, I didn't even do it yet! I'm just asking you to say something first!" Killua laughed incredulously, punchng Gon's arm. Geez, Gon was as excitable as a child at times.

"OH!" Gon stuck his tongue out sheepishly before he cleared his throat in thought. "Any record company would be lucky to hire me." Gon smirked sassily.

"Any record company would be lucky to hire me." Killua said and it was like Gon was talking to himself!

"Killua, no way! Where's your tape recorder?!" Gon cried, shaking Killua and looking him over like he could find it.

"Where's your tape recorder, Killua?!" Killua said using Gon's voice with barely suppressed laughter in his voice. Killua appeased Gon by letting him search him for anything.

"Wah, that's- amazing, Killua!" Gon chuckled. "Wait, so you're… gonna pretend to be him- how does that work?" He asked.

"I'll let you in on another secret. I can throw my voice." Killua said, closing his eyes, reminded of what he'll have to do. Gon blinked at him. "I'll be nearby. Milluki thought it all up and just let me in on the plan, knowing I'll have to agree anyway. He's bringing this lady to an italian restaurant where he'll charm her with some italian he knows and order some wine or something, and then serenade her. Well, I'm serenading her. I'll be in the viney bushes behind their table and behind Milluki. I can throw my voice so you can't tell exactly where it's coming from if you're not paying attention, but it would help the illusion if he was closer and I'm right behind him." Killua explained. Gon pressed his lips together but it didn't help as the laughter ripped through his lips anyway.

"Gon!" Killua cried, surprised.

"I'm sorry! But you're spending our old date night in some bushes to sing to a girl for your brother! It sounds a little funny!" Gon laughed. Killua snorted, but admitted it would be funny if someone discovered him crouched in some bushes like a goblin waiting for scraps to fall.

"Ok, sure, yea, yuck it up, jerk." Killua said with no bite, smiling at Gon laughter.

"Ah, I don't mind moving our date but I feel a bit bad that that's what your night will turn into. If you're hiding in bushes anyway, mind if I come to keep you company?" Gon asked. Killua blinked before smiling.

"That sounds great!" He smiled.

The week before Valentine's was filled with lovey-love events, not only at school but all over the city. The malls had balloons, big stuffed animals, and chocolates for people to buy their loved ones. Community centers held chocolate and cookie making classes. Stores advertised their personalized cards, muffin baskets and fruit arrangements. But it wasn't until the last three days leading up to Valentine's day that real drama unfolded from confessions, Valentine day parties, and gift giving.

The faces of Illumi's female fans fell, all holding different objects of affection. They knew that they would never be able to be worthy of Illumi's care and love, but they always wanted him to know how loved he was by his fans. Maybe, in hopes that, one day, one of them gives him a gift, he realizes how bad his day has been before their considerate gift and wants to keep them all to himself! But… they know now that this new girl they let infiltrated their ranks has done some voodoo on him, and they should have been more vigilant.

Illumi tapped Amane on the shoulder, a bouquet of wonderfully arranged lilacs and roses with whites and silver trimmed ribbons hidden behind his back. She closed her locker door, and turned, smiling curiously at what Illumi would want. He held it out to her and she gasped delightedly.

"Thank you very much Mr. Illumi." She said with a head tilt.

"Please, just Illumi's fine." He said.

"These are gorgeous, I didn't get anything for you?" Amane said, fiddling with one of the petals.

"All I ask in return is your attention. Mind we go elsewhere?" Illumi asked, holding out his arm.

"Of course not …" She smiled, smitten. The fans watched them leave down the hall, heads turning at the swish of the couple's long hairs. They looked good together. The fans seethed. Although anyone with a trained eye could see that all of that was a carefully crafted performance piece of affection for the eyes of the public. It was so scripted, it hurt.

"Killua! Killua, look!" Killua scrunched his nose at the many Valentines in Gon's hands. "Look at all these Valentine's cards! I never got so many before!" Gon beamed happily.

"They're a pain if you ask me." Killua sighed, opening his locker door a little wider for Gon to see the pile of valentine's day cards squished into his locker. Gon made an o face, surprised. "It's only one of the better yearly capitalism events because of all the chocolates. But if you're really into it, you get more as you get more popular." Killua said, swinging his locker shut and pulling out his chocolates from his pockets. Gon nodded as he followed Killua, taking in this sage advice.

"You ready for tonight?" Killua asked, turning back to Gon. Gon grinned.

"Mh! Since it'll sorta be a date, I'm bringing breadsticks for us to eat in the bush." Gon smiled.

"Nice!" Killua grinned and they fist bumped.

"Did you ask your brother if I can go yet?" Gon asked. Killua shrugged.

"Nah, if you wait til it's too late to think about accomodation plans, it's least likely he'll say no." Killua said. Gon scrunched his nose.

"Are you sure?" Gon asked.

"Positive." Killua grinned as he popped another chocolate in his mouth.

"As long as he doesn't get in the way of my date or your singing!" Milluki fussed, fixing his tie feeling flushed and embarrassed, eager to impress this girl that really seemed interested in him and not his name. How crazy would it be to snag one?!

Killua looked over lazily at Gon as though to say, 'I told you so.' Gon waved him off.

"Are you ready? Let's go, we need to get there earlier than her." Milluki said, shooing them to the car. They climbed in the back and Killua and Gon talked while Milluki drove them there. Gon was somewhat terrified as Milluki drove recklessly. They got there and they climbed out to see a bottom lit italian restaurant, beige walls with gold accents on the tables. Milluki fixed his tie again, trying to calm his nerves. Gon glanced over and went to his side, touching Milluki's elbow a bit to get his attention, a small smile on his face.

"What do you want?" Milluki snapped.

"You look great, Milluki! And you'll do great, any girl would be lucky." Gon said. Killua looked over when he heard piggy snap and smiled at his great boyfriend.

"Yea, well, what good is your opinion, its as good as Killu's, i.e. useless." Milluki bit back. Gon raised his hand in surrender and wandered back to Killua where Killua was scowling back at Milluki for being so mean. Milluki stuck his tongue out and Killua stuck his back. Milluki huffed and looked back at the building. But he did feel a bit better.

There were a few tables outside, which is where Milluki reserved the table. He brought them out there and directed the two teens into the bushes surrounding the viney structures climbing up wooden arcs that decorated the outside seating area. The two younger teens settled in and Milluki fixed his chair to keep them out of sight from his date.

"I wonder what this girl looks like…" Killua said, hugging his oversized jacket close to his chest. It was still cold in the evening from the late winter. "She's probably blind to have even given my brother the time of day." Killua whispered.

"Don't be mean." Gon whispered back, pulling out the small snack buns to eat while they wait. Soon after, they hear a girl address Milluki and Killua peers around to see and describe to Gon.

"What? She's actually cute and she doesn't look crazy…" Killua whispered to Gon. "Light brown hair and green eyes." He said.

"Oh, a little short?" Gon whispered back, swallowing his bite. Killua nodded.

"That's Veronica! She's an upperclassman, so sweet and nice." Gon whispered.

Killua and Gon were able to ignore their light conversation for the most part and just talk with each other under their breaths. Killua was actually super grateful that Gon ended up coming, because he was sure this would have been torture without him, bored listening to Milluki trying to smooth talk a girl. Then he heard his cue Milluki set up for when he was about to start.

"Oh, ok, shush, shut up." Killua whispered to Gon and practiced Milluki's voice under his breath, the voice coming out pretty well.

"And I wanted to give you this Valentines… a serenade for you." Milluki said, before closing his eyes and starting his lip syncing with Killua's voice.

"Vuelves... en cada sueño que tengo. Caigo de nuevo en tu red. Sé que tarda un tiempo, Curarme de ti de una vez. Tuve tantos momentos felices Que olvido lo triste que fue. Darte de mi alma Lo que tú echaste a perder..."

Gon laid further down to try and see an angle on Milluki's face. Milluki was actually pretty talented at keeping the illusion up too, looking like he was really singing it if it wasn't for the fact he saw Killua singing right next to him.

"Yo no quería amarte,Tú me enseñaste a los besos que me imaginé Vuelven al lugar donde los vi crecer...En Saturno! viven los hijos que nunca tuvimos! En Plutón… aún se oyen gritos de amor. Y en la Luna…! gritan a solas tu voz y mi voz Pidiendo perdón… Cosa que nunca pudimos hacer... peor!"

Gon studied Killua's profile as he sang, his hand over the side of his mouth to help with the acoustics and sound throwing. Killua was gorgeous and amazing, and even if he was doing this as a favor, this showed how big Killua's heart was. Killua was an impressive person and Gon was happy to have him this Valentine's day. The singing was gorgeous.

"Tienes la misma culpa que tengo Aunque te cueste admitir. que sientes como siento La almohada no suele mentir. Yo no quería amarte... Tú me enseñaste a odiarte !Todos los besos que me imaginé Vuelven al lugar donde los vi crecer."

Gon loved the sound, the tone was deep and romantic, steady and totally like a professional serenade. Gon sighed quietly, closing his eyes to just listen to Killua sing, and immerse himself in the song.

"En Saturno! viven los hijos que nunca tuvimos... En Plutón…! aún se oyen gritos de amor. Y en la Luna! gritan a solas tu voz y mi voz. Pidiendo perdón, cosa que nunca pudimos hacer, peor! Pidiendo perdón Gritan a solas tu voz y mi voz.. Cosa que nunca pudimos hacer. Cosa que nunca pudimos hacer... peor…"

The girl stood up at the end and Milluki stood up too, feeling nervous and anxious at what she would say. Did she hear that it wasn't his voice? Did she spot Killua? Is she just gonna slap him and leave?

"Oh Milluki. That was great! I loved it!" She smiled with tears in her eyes.

"Yea? Veronica, I… would you be my Valentine?" Milluki asked with a small smile. She giggled and nodded.

"Yes, Milluki, I would love that!" She cooed and hugged him. Killua and Gon ducked further into the bush so she wouldn't spot them over Milluki's shoulder. Killua snickered and nudged Gon before cupping his mouth again and oinking. Milluki froze before he blushed while Veronica giggled.

"Haha, so cute! You are just a bag of charms, aren't you?" She cooed, pinching Milluki's cheek. He laughed nervously but vowed to get Killua back for that.

Gon and Killua snickered and laughed quietly into each other, holding their mouths not to be heard and clutching their stomachs from the prank. Milluki went to walk her back to her car, the way she came, and Gon and Killua got out the bush, brushing the dust off them.

"Mh, I don't get it completely. If you were singing in his voice, why did he need you to do it?" Gon asked.

"Well, I just have better basics than Milluki. He knows he won't have to risk voice quavers or pitchy notes if I'm the one sinigng. He just didn't want to screw up or embarass himself. No one wants to feel cringe during a serenade because the singer messed up a note. Don't worry, he just wanted to trick her this first time to make sure he got it in the bag. Then mess ups are just charming." Killua shrugged.

"That seems kinda shady." Gon scrunched his nose.

"It's piggy. He's shady." Killua shrugged. Gon got lost in thought in the ethics of what they did, so he didn't see Miluki come back up behind Killua.

"Yoooou brat! Oinking like I'm some pig! You're so annoying!" Milluki cried, grabbing Killua into a headlock and giving him a noogie. Killua cried out, trying his best to fend off Milluki while Gon jumped in surprise and also tried to fend off Milluki's arms and hands.

"Whatever, she liked it, didn't she?" Killua cried when their combined efforts freed Killua to Gon's side, and Gon held Killua behind him, protectively.

"Yea, yea. I'm taking you home and out of my hair." Milluki said, turning to lead them to the car. Gon let out a sigh.

"Geez, he coulda hurt you, is that what having siblings is like?" Gon muttered to Killua. Killua blinked at Gon before chuckling under his breath.

"You're so funny, Gon." Killua smiled. They got to the car and Milluki caught Killua's arm before he could duck in after Gon. Killua looked back at his older brother.

"That… you did good. Thanks for that…" Milluki muttered, letting Killua's arm go and looking off. Killua blinked. If there was one person Killua thought would never thanked anyone… this must've really meant alot to Miluki tonight. And just didn't say it. This was the best way Milluki could think to express it. Killua gave a lopsided smile.

"Don't even mention it, before I decide to charge you." Killua said, and climbed in the back. Milluki snorted.

"Yea right, like you need anymore money, you spoiled brat." Milluki said climbing in the driver seat to drive them home.

Killua and Gon's date the following day was as great as either one of them could have thought of. Sweet and romantic and a little hotter than Killua would ever admit publically to anyone. The next day, on Saturday, the two woke up early to head out towards Gon's old school, the opposite direction from Musica Academy.

Killua flicked the radio on, his head bobbing to the flitting tones of Fireflies by Owl City.

~I'd like to make myself believe that planet Earth turns slowly...

Gon smiled, glancing over at Killua when he could. Killua looked great as usual, a white undershirt peaking through the large holes of his black open knit sweater and dark blue jeans. Gon hoped this went well, he really wanted his old friends to like Killua, and for Killua to like the activities he had planned for today with his friends. Like when Killua came with Gon to the orphanage and he ended up loving the children and being there, that worked out beautifully for Gon. Gon pointed out the building that housed Crossroads as it came into view.

Killua smiled, looking over the green lawn in front of the square connected buildings, the molding and crowning on the buildings giving away the old age. There were old oaks around the building, children in the front playing under the shade of one of them in the front lawn, a caretaker in view in the window. It looked like a community center, but with the feel of an older cousin's house or a grandparent's house. Killua could understand how Gon could feel so at home and safe at an afterschool club like Crossroads.

"It looks quaint." Killua smiled, glancing at Gon as they parked. Gon grinned.

"I'm glad you think so! It was so relieving to see it at the end of the day!" Gon said, climbing out and waiting for Killua to join his side to go in. Killua nodded. Killua didn't have these things when he was homeschooled, he didn't have clubs or places to socialize. It made him feel like he couldn't relate, but that was ok. Killua's getting his own experiences now.

They walked in and saw a few of the walls had pink and red paper decorations for valentines day, most of them cut out in the shape of hearts and others cut out in different abstract designs. It was obvious the few volunteers working there had made them, because there were not many and they looked like there was effort in it for their charges.

Killua stepped to the side in haste when a couple kids zipped past him to run outside, an older woman following at a slower pace, and Killua could only give her a sheepish smile, unsure of what to even say or do. Killua looked over at Gon, to figure out if this was even normal. But Gon wasn't looking back at him, just looking around, his weight on his tip toes to look towards some corners and back rooms. Then Gon gasped and turned, taking Killua's hand.

"This way!" Gon said, and Killua was brought along before he could say anything. What would he say anyways? This was Gon's place, and when in Rome, right? Killua will just go along with what Gon's doing. They entered a back room, bean bags positioned about and desks with chairs around, giving a more mature look than the playrooms in front, and Killua realized this was the teen hangout spots. The handful of teens in the room turned to Gon and they lit up with recognition and excitement as Gon beamed back just as brightly. Gon let go of Killua's hand to move forward to greet his friends, but Gon didn't have to be holding Killua's hand to keep his hold on Killua. Gon was so bright and amazing, Gon had a hold on Killua's heart and he easily followed Gon towards his friends unprompted.

"Ay- yo, Gon, whats up!" A bronze teen said. As he came over, he spoke a spanish greeting to which Gon replied to by laughing and giving a japanese greeting, hooking arms in a hand shake. Others quickly surrounded him and Killua gave them space to catch up. Many of them said things like 'it's been forever', or 'too long', 'how have you been' and 'lets catch up!' Gon had all the same sentiments. Gon was about to move with the crowd's motion towards the comfy bean bags- where he'll probably sink in and not feel a thing was out of place, leaving Killua where he stopped, and maybe Killua will wander, or find his way to the car to wait for the day to end- but Gon stopped.

"Oh, guys! This is my boyfriend, Killua Zoldyck!" Gon introduced, turning back to Killua with the smile that could rival the sun's and always make Killua's insides turn to mush. Killua offered a small grin as he waved at the teens who's mouths dropped.

"No way, the Killua Zoldyck? I love the Zoldcyks' songs!" One guy said, going to his side, "I'm Marco, can I get an autograph?" He asked as he offered a hand. Killua chuckled a bit as he took the hand, shrugging helplessly.

"Oh right, I forgot people would recognize you-" Gon started, before a cuban girl stepped up to Gon, keeping a sharp smile on Killua.

"Oh, you met him at your new fancy school?" She asked with a hint of a spanish accent. She shifted her hips to one side as she finally took in Gon, her low sweatpants hugging her curves in the best ways, Killua could probably never even hope to achieve. He turned his attention back to Marco. "I didn't think you'd ever find someone who would hang out with you, with how snobbish everyone is there." She said, poking Gon's chest. Gon chuckled, raising his hands in surrender.

"They're really not that bad- at least, not anymore, I don't think." He said. She harrumphed but let it go, others introducing themselves to Killua and starting to talk to catch up. And they extended the conversation plenty of times to Killua, enough that he felt comfortable enough to actually input words to the conversation unprompted. They surely knew how to make anyone feel at home. Killua actually didn't talk much with the girls as much as the guys, but that was fine. Killua gave them autographs and pics and the boys asked Gon what the plan was for that day.

The teens led crafts with the younger kids at Crossroads, Killua having ample fun cutting badly shaped hearts out with the kids and putting way too much glue on the construction paper for the glitter. They showed kids how to make simple valentine snacks while sharing cooking recipes from their own cultures. Killua took it all in with wide eyes, loving being immersed in all the different cultures from hispanic to black to korean.

Parents soon started coming to pick up the smaller kids and the adults started cleaning up the mess.

"Ah, finally, now we can get to the fun stuff…!" One of the girls said, setting chairs up.

"Huh?" Killua asked as Gon lit up and ran off.

"I gotta get the guitar from the closet!" Gon called over his shoulder, and another guy cheered, going to go help him look.

"Gon's gonna lead a discussion, like a talk circle. We all love when he comes to do that, cause we don't know where we will ever find a better group of people that can relate to what we're going through, and talking to our friends make the week easier to get through, really." A guy explained to Killua. "And its amazing, because the way Gon does it… you never really feel any judgement and its easy enough to talk about our woes to him and everyone else here." Killua smiled warmly at the thought.

"Not that you could ever really understand, Zoldyck."

Killua felt his smile still, looking over at who said it.

The cuban girl in the sweatpants, he's found her name to be Mariposa, or Mari for short, was standing by a desk, leaning on it with natural ease and nonchalance.

"Mari…" Marco started, moving forward a bit, but stopped when her sharp eyes turned on him.

"What could someone like you- a celebrity like you, could relate to with a bunch of poor, put out, neglected teens? You grew up with more money than you know what to do with, while our parents had to work so hard to put food in our mouths they have to leave us here everyday til the dead of night." She shifted her weight to get off the desk, to walk towards Killua. Killua just stared back, with wide eyes. He had no idea what to say, but he didn't know why he was putting up with it. He would have bit out anyone else who even dared take this tone with him.

But maybe it was because the words hit so close to the truth, or it was Gon's friends, but he didn't even dare move. "With parents, and nannys, and friends- getting to go to the best school because your family can afford it. You couldn't even hope to understand what its like in our lives." She scoffed. "Why would you even come here? To help your image? That you hang out with poor colored kids, so you're 'woke'? Ha, it's a wonder why Gon even likes someone like you- or even bring you. What was he thinking? And why are you still here?" She snapped at the end.

"Hey!" Gon said, loud enough that everyone jumped, it nearly sounded like a snarl. Killua turned to see Gon, a dark look clouding his face as he strutted back into the room, the guitar clutched between his fist, but it was obvious his free hand was gripped tighter. Mariposa blinked, the color draining from her face as she took a couple steps back from the intense aura Gon put out as he marched at her.

"Why would you say anything like that…? To anybody?" Gon started, his voice shaking from the effort it took to keep from shouting again. She looked immensely guilty as she looked away from him and around, for help or an escape. "This place… it's suppose to be a welcome to anybody. TO ANYBODY! No matter their background! Remember? Not just to those that are like us, or that can relate to us! How could you- what made you so qualified to gatekeep anyone from love or a place they belong? You talk to Killua like he's everyone else you've ever seen on TV, but they aren't here! At least Killua is here, and he's trying! He's trying to be there and understand people like us. He's amazing, and he cares so much! But people like you would be the reason people like him wouldn't help us! What would come from this? He leaves, along with bad impressions on anyone likes this, because you wanna be as petty and mean as those that had ever hurt you." He said, finally calming enough, putting the guitar down. His face cleared from that dark look, as he looked around at everyone, everyone who didn't speak up because they also wanted to stick it to Killua, to those so rich, they would come in and mock the ways of the poor. But they realized how wrong they were.

"You talk about how the 'rich' won't help people like you, but when would they get the chance between all this talk about hate? Mari, you and Killua are so much more alike than you know, and while he doesn't have to tell you any of it to justify himself to you, why must you have such ugly thoughts. We all know more than anyone how ugly the world can be, but we really just need more love in it." Goon turned to go back to Killua. Killua looked up from the piece of ground he was staring at dejectedly, noticing Gon come to him. Killua bit his tongue to keep from flinching when Gon took his hand.

Killua didn't bite back because he knew it was true somewhere in him, this was Gon's place, and he didn't belong, stuck out like a sore thumb in his designer clothings that mimicked the fashion of the poor when deemed cool. She was right to ask him why he was still here- he shouldn't be here- and was stupid to think that Gon would want him after this-!

Gon's face ducked into Killua's view, clearing Killua's thoughts momentarily and Killua stared at Gon and his genuine smile that spoke volumes. They stared at each other, sharing an intimate conversation between their eyes for a moment, just for them, and Killua smiled, ducking his head sheepishly. Killua really could be stupid sometimes.

"I don't want you to take any of what she said to heart. You know that's not you. I know what will cheer you up. Will you sing with me?" Gon said quietly for just Killua to hear and Killua smiled wider before nodding.

"Of course, Gon." Killua hummed with a head tilt, feeling better from Gon's sunshine right in front of him. Gon turned back to the group.

"Let's finish setting the circle up, we're gonna talk about how we can be the love we want to see in the world today." Gon told everyone, keeping his hand in Killua's as he walked forward to pick up the guitar.

"We got problems in our world, man, and we can't fix all the problems, guys. And we certainly can't carry the weight alone, y'all." Gon said as he strung on his guitar, Killua tapping a complimentary beat on his lap with his hands, and tapped his foot to the music. "Talk it out, tell us your problems to our sing ring… alright?" The teens grooved to the music as they got ready for their freestyle. A black teen with flannel tapped a beat with his hand too before starting them off.

"What's wrong with the world, mama? People livin' like they ain't got no mamas. I think the whole world's addicted to the drama… Only attracted to the things that'll bring a trauma. Overseas, yeah, we tryin' to stop terrorism, But we still got terrorists here livin' In the USA, the big CIA… The Bloods and the Crips, and the KKK!" He sang. Another hispanic went in to sing where he left off.

"But if you only have love for your own race, Then you only leave space to discriminate. And to discriminate only generates hate And when you hate, then you're bound to get irate. Madness is what you demonstrate, And that's exactly how anger works and operates! Man, you gotta have love, this'll set us straight. Take control of your mind and meditate, Let your soul gravitate to the love, y'all!" He sang, the other teens bobbing their head in agreement, some letting out some rhythmic cries for the hot lyrics.

"People killin', people dyin'... Children hurt and you hear them cryin'" Killua sang, closing his eyes as he sang. Most people were awed at the sound they were hearing, he wa truly talented. "Can you practice what you preach? And would you turn the other cheek? Father, father, father, help us, Send some guidance from above…!" Killua sang, folding his hands together like a prayer. Gon joined in with Killua in unison.

"These people got me, got me questionin', Where is the love? Where is the love? Where is the love? Where is the love… the love, the love?"

Another teen stood for the next verse, larger in build, bouncing to the beat. "It just ain't the same, old ways have changed, New days are strange, is the world insane? If love and peace is so strong Why are there pieces of love that don't belong? Nations droppin' bombs, Chemical gases fillin' lungs of little ones. With ongoing sufferin' as the youth die young, So ask yourself, is the lovin' really gone? So I can ask myself, really, what is going wrong?"

Another stood up to take up the next part, turning to address those around him. "With this world that we livin' in, people keep on givin' in, Makin' wrong decisions, only visions of them dividends. Not respectin' each other, deny thy brother. A war is goin' on, but the reason's undercover. The truth is kept secret, and swept under the rug, If you never know truth, then you never know love, Where's the love, y'all?"

The others responded when prompted, "Come on, I don't know"

"Where's the truth, y'all?"

"Come on, I don't know!"

"And where's the love y'all?"

Killua stood, holding his arms out as he sang with Gon. "People killin', people dyin' Children hurt and you hear them cryin'. Will you practice what you preach? And would you turn the other cheek? Father, father, father, help us! Send some guidance from above! These people got me, got me questionin'...

"Where is the love... love? Where is the love… the love? Where is the love ...the love? Where is the love, the love, the love?"

Then Marco stood to sing a verse as the others sat to listen to their other peers' lyrics.

"I feel the weight of the world on my shoulder, As I'm getting older, y'all people gets colder. Most of us only care about money-makin', Selfishness got us followin' the wrong direction. Wrong information always shown by the media! Negative images is the main criteria! Infecting the young minds faster than bacteria, Kids wanna act like what they see in the cinema!" Marco rapped out. Gon started next, and Killus smiled happily over at him, keeping the beat with his taps to his thigh.

"Whatever happened to the values of humanity? Whatever happened to the fairness and equality? Instead of spreadin' love we spreadin' animosity. Lack of understandin' leading us away from unity. That's the reason why sometimes I'm feelin' under… That's the reason why sometimes I'm feelin' down. It's no wonder why sometimes I'm feelin' under, Gotta keep my faith alive 'til love is found! Now ask yourself…"

Everyone around the circle started to sing together in beat with the music Gon was strumming.

"Where is the love? Where is the love? Where is the love? Where is the love? Father, father, father, help us… Send some guidance from above! These people got me, got me questionin', Where is the love?"

They quieted down to let Gon sing the last part, making sure to reflect on the words they sang and heard from their friend's burdened hearts. They hummed quietly under their breath with Gon.

"Now sing with me, y'all (one world, one world)... We only got (one world, one world)… That's all we got (one world, one world)... And something's wrong with it. Something's wrong with it, Something's wrong with the world...We only got (one world, one world). That's all we got (one world, one world).." Gon let out the last strum and smiled over at Killua before kissing him. Killua was so caught up with the mood and the look in Gon's eyes, he forgot he was in front of other until they teasingly 'oooooh'd' at the sight and he blushed, covering his face while Gon laughed, waving them off.

"Ok guys, knock it off. I got a song to sing for you guys still!" He said, strumming up another song. The notes flitted with an upbeat tone, changing the atmosphere to a more jovial mood. Gon started singing cheerily, "Oh- oh- oh!" The teens clapped along with the beat, intrigued with the new song.

"Close your eyes with me, start imagining A world full of love…! We can change the stars with our hands and hearts, Make them shine on us!" Gon sang, looking over his friends who have been through much heavy hardships and burdens on their mind if the last song was anything to go off of.

"But no, no, don't worry darlin', They won't stop staring, but soon they'll be caring. Come from near and far with their hands and hearts, Cuz it's time to stand up!" Gon sang and the others began singing, "oh-oh-oh!" with Killua's prompting. Gon knew it was important to get the heavier thoughts off their chests but he didn't want to leave them with such a heavy and weird mood on a love holiday.

"Oh the world is changing! And all I am saying Is you gotta believe…! I'm a drop of water, but you know together, we're the ocean deep!" Gon joined the other teens singing, 'oh-oh-oh' between the lyrics, turning to look at Killua. Killua looked much brighter, tapping out the beat with the other teens and leading them to Gon's beats and rhythm. Killua always worked so well with Gon, it was so natural and easy to sing with him, he knew just what to do to compliment him and his singing and singing style. Gon was grateful he was helping to guide the less trained teens on making beautiful music along with Gon. Gon's never had so much fun singing with his friends!

"The time is always right to open up your eyes And be the flickering flame. We can light the corners, shine through all the borders, Deep down we are the same! But no, no, don't worry darlin', They won't stop staring, but soon they'll be caring…!"

"(Oh-oh-oh) Oh the world is changing! And all I am saying Is you gotta believe… I'm a drop of water, but you know together we're the ocean deep!" Gon sang, then he prompted the others to sing too. Killua smiled brightly over at Gon as he sang with him. Gon noticed Killua always looks so happy and like he actually enjoyed singing when singing together. Gon knows Killua has a great, bounding love for singing, he sees it in Killua's eyes whenever they do, and Gon's happy he got Killua to keep singing after they met. He knows it's one of Killua's loves and hates that his family made Killua dislike it for so long. But he'll make sure Killua keeps singing with the love of the music in his heart somehow.

"(Oh-oh-oh), Oh the world is changing! And all I am saying Is you gotta believe… I'm a drop of water, but you know together we're the ocean deep!" Gon strummed out. They sang out the last of the song before they clapped and whistled happily, feeling refreshed.

"Valentine's day doesn't have to just be about having a partner and giving chocolate. But it can be about giving back and showing love to those that don't get it all the time." Gon said and the others hummed in agreement. "Great job today guys, let's start cleaning up."

The orange sky winked between the window and Gon started talking to the other guys, telling them other times he'll be back. They promised to keep in touch more, and were really happy he spent his valentine's day with them, and showed them his love. Killua smiled at the back of Gon's head. Maybe Killua-

"Hey…" Mariposa said, catching Killua out of his thoughts. He glanced over at her, and couldn't help his smile at how shy and embarrassed she looked. "Listen… I'm sorry I said all that stuff to you before… you're actually really cool and you have a killer voice. I always thought that stuff was altered over the radio."

"Its not a problem." He said with a smile. Cause he meant it. Gon was right. The world didn't need more griping and hate, but soft thoughts and love.

"Hey, you'll be coming back with Freeces, right? I wanna hang out with you more- both of you." She added with a blush. Killua laughed and nodded.

"Yea, I'd like that. You guys are like my new family too." He said and put an arm around her. She giggled, covering her face.

"Right! Right, haha, have a good night guys!" She said.

"Thanks Mari! See ya guys!" Gon grinned, popping up by Killua's side and taking his hand to leave. They waved by and drove off to the sunset sky and soft beats on the radio.
