July 8th, 2011 (2 months later)
"Aya! You should hurry or we'll be late!" Lisa called up the stairs to her daughter, the English rolling off her tongue.
"Coming, coming!" The 8-year-old ran down the stairs, nearly tripping over her own feet. She continued running to the front door, crashing into her nari on the way.
They caught her and lifted her into the air, the pair giggling, "Woah! You go any faster you'll beat Speedshot in a race, no problem!"
Lisa heard her spouse from the kitchen and zoomed into the room. "Oh, really?" She took Ayano from Sora, spinning her around once before placing her down on the ground. "Wanna test that theory?" She raised a playful eyebrow, smirking at her daughter and falling into a runner's pose.
Ayano grinned, giggling at her mom, "No way! I can only win if Nari's on my side!" She ran over and hugged her parent's legs, looking over her shoulder at her mom still kneeling.
Both parents laughed, Sora picking their daughter up and heading for the door, "Well, either way, we need to get going. Got all your things, Aya?" The hyper child in their arms nodded, her whole body bouncing from the movement.
Lisa came up next to them and kissed her daughter's head, opening the door and heading out, leading her family to the car.
When they arrived at Ayano's school, Izuku was standing at the gates. When Ayano got out of the car, Izuku ran over.
"Aya-chan!" He nearly ran into her, stopping just in time, "Hurry! We'll be late!" He bounced on his feet, anxiety shooting his energy through the roof.
"Okay, okay, coming." She turned to her parents, "Bye Nari, bye Mom, see you after school!" After Lisa and Sora said their farewells, Aya closed the door and ran ahead of Izuku.
He ran after her, barely catching up as they arrived at the classroom door. Their sensei was just down the hall, so they both rushed into their seats.
Aya caught Kacchan, as Izuku calls him, rolling his eyes, but before she could mention it, Kita-sensei walked in and calmed the class. During class, she had to take her notes in a messy mish-mash of Hiragana, Katakana and English. I'll have to translate this at home again… She sighed, not for the first or last time missing her native tongue.
After school, Izuku and Aya were hanging out at the closest park, when Bakugou came up behind Izuku and shoved him into Ayano. They both yelped, falling to the ground, both could already feel where bruises would form.
Bakugou yelled in the direction of his friends, "Deku and Ayano are the weakest in this school, makes sense that they would fall in loooove!"
Izuku's face turned beet red, he hurried to get off Ayano, "N-no! Kacchan, it's not, it's not like, like that-"
Bakugou turned back to them with a wicked grin, which made Ayano very nervous.
"Oh really? Then why are you st-st-stuttering so much?" His friends came up behind him and laughed with him. "You weaklings belong together, really, I'm doing you a favor!"
Ayano, in the two months she's known the boys, figured out that Bakugou hates Izuku for not having a quirk (she's not totally sure why, but she knows that much). They used to be friends until Izuku's quirklessness was revealed. Then Bakugou's quirk manifested as explosions, which he was sparking up at the moment.
Ayano had yet to see him use his quirk against Izuku, he usually claimed it made 'beating useless Deku to a pulp too easy'. But when his hand started producing more and more tiny fireworks, Ayano prepared to use her own quirk.
Ok… which color is best here? I could use yellow to protect Izuku, or red to stop Bakugou… I think that'll work better. Alright, here goes nothing!
As Bakugou's hand approached Izuku's frightened face, Ayano raised her own hand to summon her force field.
The red bubble stitched together around Bakugou in just over a second, causing his hand to smack the wall of the bubble instead of burning Izuku.
His face immediately fell to reveal a livid expression, aimed right at Ayano. She squeaked, but held her ground as best she could while her energy was rapidly dropping from using her quirk. This is the biggest I've made so far, go me!
"What the hell?! What are you doing?" Bakugou punched and kicked the walls, every impact draining more power from Ayano.
"My quirk… guess I forgot… you hadn't seen it yet." She saw Izuku out of the corner of her eye digging through his backpack to pull out his hero notebook. Her focus went back to her prisoner. "You'll never break it, it only goes away… when I turn it off," She panted.
It wasn't entirely true, he could tire her out to make her drop it sooner, but if she can just get him to stop hitting it, it'll last longer. His backup bullys seemed to think if they hit it from the outside they could do more damage, but the winged kid's first punch went straight through. His balance was thrown off and he fell forward into the bubble.
Ayano smirked, "sorry to… dis-disappoint, but red means... anything can go into it, but you can't… escape?- leave til it pops." Her Japanese was getting worse as she kept the force field up. Every one of her muscles was aching.
He seemed to believe her as his hits slowed to a stop, but now he was breathing heavy and his glare was even worse. I need to end this asap... "I'll only let you go if you promise not to use your quirk against Izuku ever again."
His eyes widened, "Wha-? No way!" His glare returned, "Nice try, but you can't keep us in here forever!"
Izuku started mumbling then, something about Ayano's quirk. Ayano glanced at him, but that was enough for Bakugou's other friend to take advantage of the distraction and shove her to the ground. Breaking her concentration and force field with one hit.
One moment she was in control and had the upper hand, the next she was lying on her back with Bully #1 holding her legs while Bakugou sat on her stomach. Her arms were pinned to her sides, and she couldn't make another field if she tried.
Bully #2 was occupying Izuku as he yelled out for Ayano, yelling at Bakugou that he was taking it too far.
"Kacchan don't! You'll only get in trouble!" He was tangled in #2's stretchy fingers, writhing to try to get free.
Bakugou made an exaggerated sweep of the park, then shrugged, "No teachers, no rules." The cruel smirk on Bakugou's face as he looked back at her made Ayano's fear skyrocket. His hand lit up with the small explosions he was threatening Izuku with just a few minutes ago. They seem a lot bigger up close… and hotter.
He slowly brought his hand closer to her, when the pop! was louder next to her ear, she couldn't hide her flinch. She hated that each of her jumps seemed to just make Bakugou more proud of himself.
It seemed like hours that Ayano was stuck in between the ground and Bakugou, but it couldn't have been more than a few minutes before things went from bad to worse.
A teenager, some random guy with curly gold hair, walked into the park and saw three kids roughhousing. He was going to ignore them until he noticed that the blonde kid had some kind of fire quirk and he was getting his hand really close to the kid under him. He called out to them, "Hey! Quit that!"
It didn't have the effect he was hoping for.
Instead of getting spooked and running like his friends, Bakugo turned to the newcomer with a glare, about to tell him off. But when he turned to his right, where the guy was, his left hand, which was still creating explosions next to Ayano's face, moved those couple inches with him.
Ayano watched his hand move both too fast and too slow. She tried to make another force field, yellow and around her this time to keep the blonde demon away, but she was dead tired. She could only brace for impact as his hand approached her.
"AAHHHHH!"
