I'm so Sorry for the wait, Writers block, lack of motivation and me procrastinating delayed this chapter. Good news is its finished so, let's not delay and just go straight and finish this story. (Original made by Professor Ass spiders. Rio is owned by 20th century fox/ Fox animation.)
The family decided to stay in the fake jungle. The nest box felt empty without Carla.
Currently, the family decided to go to the infirmary where Carla was taking physical therapy.
When Carla recovered from her coma, she couldn't move.
Couldn't move her wings, couldn't move her talons. Couldn't move her entire body.
Couldn't move anything except her beak. Carla can talk but she couldn't move her body.
It was hell for her. She wanted to leave the room she was in but everytime she tried, her body screams in protest.
After what seemed like days, a doctor wrote down in a note saying that she'll have to take physical therapy. Carla didn't know what the doctor wrote on the note but she didn't care.
She just wants to leave this room.
Tiago was anxious to see Carla again. He wanted to apologize to her, tell her that he was sorry. Sorry that he just stood there and watched her being crushed.
Tiago was waiting for her to be finished for her appointment.
Carla hates physical therapy, but it was either doing therapy or being a statue for the rest of her life. She's waiting for the doctors to dismiss her. As Carla waits, thoughts begin to resurface in her mind.
How long was she in a coma?
Is Tiago in a good place, emotionally?
Will she ever fly again? This question repeated in her head again. Again. Over and over like she was a hamster in its wheel, trying to find an answer to the question.
Her thoughts when the door opened and the doctor told her she was free to go.
Carla saw Tiago in the room without the rest of the family.
"Tiago?" Carla asked with concern, Tiago was always the first to appear but the room's vibrant and calm atmosphere was replaced with cold, grim and dark like it knew something was bound to happen.
Tiago didn't answer. He stood there looking down on the floor.
"Tiago, what's wrong?" Carla said again, trying to replicate Jewel's gentle tone when she was upset with herself.
"I'm sorry." Tiago finally said, sorrow in his voice,
"Tiag-" Carla tried to say but she couldn't think of any way to approach the situation without hurting Tiago even more.
"I'm sorry that I stood there."
Carla was still trying to think what words she could use to help Tiago.
"I stood there and nearly watched you die." Tiago was on the verge of tears.
"Tiago, you don't have to apologize for anything." Carla said after figuring out the words she'll use to help him.
"What do you mean? I stood there, I didn't even try to help. I just watched." Tiago had tears slowly coming out of his eyes.
"Tiago, there was nothing you could have done." Tiago stopped looking at the ground and towards his sister.
"When I was being crushed and I saw you, I wanted you to leave."
"Why?" Tiago said in shock, why did she wanted him to leave.
"Because I care about you, Tiago. You're my little brother and if you were in danger, I would do anything in my power to save you."
Tiago stayed in place, registering the words she said to him.
"Thank you." Tiago finally said.
Carla smiled as he seemed to forgive himself.
She stood there, comforting Tiago even more.
"I think we should probably head back to our parents." Carla said after enough time had passed. Tiago silently agreed.
Both of them walked towards the door when Tiago heard a small thump.
Carla fell down as her body was still getting used to moving again.
"You ok?" Tiago said.
"I'm fine" Carla said as she tried to pick herself up but her body refused to cooperate.
"Want me to lift you up?"
"Yeah." Tiago put his wing under Carla's wing and put the wing around his back and carried her towards Linda.
Months had passed, Carla had recovered from her injuries, she can walk without falling over, she can fly short distances without tiring, though she still had to take physical therapy.
The family were in nest boxes, peacefully asleep.
All except one.
"No" Tiago mumbled as he twisted and turned from his nightmare. Tears formed as their words continued to assault his head.
"I'm sorry." He tried to plead with them but they didn't stop.
Tiago continued to turn as they continued to hurt him.
"No!" Tiago screamed as he involuntarily shot up from his nest. He looked around as his nest, looking around to see if they'll appear again.
"It was just a dream." Tiago tried to calm himself but the doubt was still fresh in his head.
"Tiago?" Blu said as Tiago jumped.
"You ok?" Blu said with his gentle tone.
Tiago stood there seemingly puzzled as he looked at him.
"Tiago?" Blu was concerned as Tiago didn't get scared easily.
Tiago rushed to Blu and hugged him, tears falling down. Blu's wings wrapped around Tiago as his son continued to sob. As Tiago continued to cry, Blu heard his mate walking towards them. Jewel sang her lullaby to help Tiago calm down. Tiago's sobs died down as Blu carried him back to his nest.
"Can I sleep with you?" Tiago said as the doubt dwindled away. Blu looked at Jewel, a silent conservation between the both of them. They both reached an agreement.
"Sure, Tiago." Blu said as he put out his wing. Tiago grabbed his wing and walked towards his parents' nest. They got to the close and put their son in the middle, letting their warmth calm Tiago. Blu and Jewel fell asleep but Tiago was still awake, staring at the roof, remembering the past months. Remembering seeing his family on the table, the only signs of life being the heart monitors but this was different. They're alive as he looked at his parents' chest rising up and down. His sisters are alive, his parents are alive, He is alive. The family is alive. Tiago closed his eyes as he finally fell asleep, Sleeping peacefully for the first time in months.
Again, sorry for the wait but I hope it was worth the wait. this wouldn't have been possible without the permission of professor ass spiders, without his permission I wouldn't have made this story. I just hope this lived up to his exceptions. For now, I'll be taking a break. Don't worry, I'll probably make some one-shots but that'll be it for a while.
