An Intimate Encounter
I woke up in an extremely soft bed, with feathered pillows covered in red silk cases; when my vision came back, I realized the magnificence of the room. The bed was a golden leaf four poster bed covered in red and gold silk sheets, the curtain was made of the finest taffeta, the floors were made of really obnoxious marble, a floor length mirror stood near the closet, urging to be used for the girliest of pleasures. I sat up and rubbed my eyes and then I remembered; I walked over to the bathroom and looked in the mirror at the bandage taped on my neck. I was terrified to see what was underneath, but I had to see for myself; I peeled back the tape, removed the bandage and saw the horror that was this massive bite wound. It was like this vampire took a chunk from my neck; it was red and still dripping wet, the puncture wounds ran deep and it hurt to the touch. Hell, it hurt to even breathe, but the wound was glowing a weird purple hue which I figured was what Dean gave me in order for it to heal.
"I see you're up," Dean said placing a mug holding a hot beverage by the side of the bed. "How are you feeling?"
"I've been better," I said trying not to touch my neck. "What's this purple halo around the bite?"
"It's a defense in case that bite decides to turn you," Dean said walking behind me and dressing my wound. After he dressed the wound, he slowly ran his hands along the nape of my neck until I unconsciously let out a soft moan; he spun me around and held my face in his hands. "You are the first human I feel for and it makes me uncomfortable."
"I know it's been a very long time since you have had someone like that," I said as Dean stared into my eyes, "that's why I agreed to be that person for you anytime you were in town."
"Always be that person," Dean said as he softly kissed my lips, but he pulled away when I winced in pain. "Not yet, we will when you are better. You're more fun when your all healed." I smiled as he left the room so I could shower and change; after, he loaded me up in his car and drove me back to the castle where everyone was staying. He got out, helped me out of the car and walked me inside, not knowing what everyone was going to say. I walked into the library, where of course everyone was gathered and when they saw me they sprang into action; suddenly, everyone except for Sebastian stopped.
"Who is this?" Hermione asked folding her arms.
"This is Dean," I said sitting down after feeling lightheaded. "He rescued me at the bar." After telling the tale, Hermione and Harry looked at Dean and said, "Thank you."
"She is my person," Dean said as I felt lightning shoot through Sebastian, "I would do anything for her." Dean shook everyone's hand and he left leaving me to deal with the aftermath.
"What are you doing with him? He is a vampire," Sebastian said with disappointment in his voice.
"He saved my life," I said ripping off the bandage to expose the wound on my neck, "if he hadn't come back for me, I'd be dead. You should be grateful that he came back and saved me."
"He called you his person," Hermione said puzzled. "Why?"
"Dean and I met a few years ago while he was here in town for business," I said and when I got looks I added, "what type of business I'm not aware of, but at the time he wasn't getting enough blood from the blood banks so I opened a vein and offered it to him. From then on, whenever he was in town we would get together for a bit and move on with life. He never drank too much, he was always respectful and when he was done, he would always offer me sugary things to eat and drink to replenish the sugar in my blood system and he would only feed from me once. He never overstepped his boundary. It was an unspoken agreement." Everyone was silent, but I could feel the tension from Sebastian which is why I said, "I'm going to lie down." I left as quickly as I could without breaking out into a sprint and shut my bedroom door behind me; I breathed a sigh of relief as I headed to the bathroom and unbandaged my wound so it could breathe, but when I stepped out I saw a figure standing in the middle of the room.
"Jared," I said keeping my distance.
"I can see my minion didn't turn you," he said pacing, "I suppose that's good. I could easily take that spell off so it would turn you, but maybe that can leverage for my next question."
"Which is?" I asked, already knowing the answer.
"Where are the books?" he asked as I smiled.
"Like I told your minion," I said knowing this was going to end badly, "you're not getting the books." He outstretched his hand and suddenly my neck seared with pain; it still glowed purple, but it was profusely bleeding and the pain was so intense it felt like the vampire was biting me all over again. The pain sent me to my knees and I was paralyzed with pain and fear; he was going to kill me right here while everyone was downstairs. His hand fell and the pain stopped as I panted as if I ran a marathon; he came over to my and lifted me by the neck, creating a bloody handprint.
"You bring me the books and next time you won't die," Jared said as I struggled to free his tight grip.
I looked him in the eyes and said, "I'd rather die than give you more power."
He thought about something for a moment, and then said, "Alright." He flicked his wrist and I fell to the ground; I watched him smile and disappear from the room. I huffed and puffed and paced the room, then I realized I felt off and didn't know why. I looked around the room and I noticed a body lying on the floor, motionless; I realized it was mine.
"Son of a bitch," I said out loud. "He killed me."
What the fuck? That bastard killed me but I didn't feel dead, I felt asleep waiting for someone to wake me up; suddenly I noticed someone enter the room, it was Dean.
"What the hell?" he asked almost in a panic.
"He killed me," I said, "The Dictator killed me. He snapped my neck when I refused to give him what he wanted."
Dean understood and he knelt beside my body with his hands outstretched, but before he could do anything Sebastian came in and automatically suspected Dean of killing me.
"What the fuck did you do?" He asked ready to fight him.
"I didn't do anything," Dean said pushing Sebastian back, "if you do not let me save her she will be gone forever." Sebastian paused, and backed off Dean. Dean returned to my body, outstretched his arms, and closed his eyes; he did not say a word, but I felt a pulling sensation. Like I was being recalled somewhere else and a moment later, I woke up beside Dean and looking at Sebastian. I blinked a few times and then groaned.
I rubbed my neck and exclaimed, "OW! That bastard snapped my neck." I suddenly realized that Jared stripped the magic away preventing me from becoming a vampire. "Will I become a vampire?"
Dean looked at Sebastian and sighed, "No, you won't."
I smacked Dean and he laughed, "Asshole."
He looked over at Sebastian and his demeanor changed, "I should go."
I looked at him, pleading for him to stay, but he reassured me it was alright and he packed everything and left the room. I heard Hermione thank him, he kissed her hand, and left the house.
