Her dreams that night were strange, not bad, just odd. She was awoken when she felt a shift of weight on the end of her bed.

"Katya?" Natasha whispered softly. Katya responded by dramatically groaning and pulling her blankets over her head.

"I just wanted to check up on you, and tell you that…"

"We're going to tour a school today." Katya finished her sentence, it was quite muffled from the blankets but still audible.

"Yeah. We have a tour in a couple of hours and…"

"You're worried about me?" Katya finished.

"Well, yes…because…"

"Can we talk about this later? Can I just have five more minutes?" Katya said sleepily.

"Yeah sure." Natasha said as she closed the door behind her.

"At least she's trying to sleep for once." Natasha thought, still confused and worried that she was depressed, as she usually never slept after 8:00 but it was almost 9:30 today. Katya fell back asleep, then woke up about an hour later, she got dressed, and popped some toast in the toaster. Tony and Pepper were sitting on the couch together, watching T.V while Cap was reading a newspaper and everyone else was in their rooms or at their own houses, like Clint.

"Morning." Tony said without looking up, Pepper was resting her head on his shoulder. Katya sat down on the couch next to them with her buttered toast, water, and a new addition, her medication.

"First day?" Tony asked.

"For what?" She asked. He gestured his head over to the two pills on the edge of her plate.

"Yeah."

"You are the strangest kid I have ever met. What normal teenager has breakfast with water instead of juice." She looked confused and a little upset.

"Was this not normal?" She asked herself.

"Tony, leave the kid alone." Natasha said from behind him, almost appearing out of nowhere, and sitting on the couch next to Katya.

"Sir, would you like to see this week's security highlights?" Jarvis asked.

"Yes, please!" Tony said a mischievous glint in his eyes. Natasha playfully rolled her eyes.

"Ugh, here we go again."

On the T.V the security tapes started showing up. Some of them were pretty funny.

"Is that Coulson?" Katya asked.

"Yeah, he's obsessed with Cap and goes to take pictures of him asleep."

"Ew."

"Yeah." Next a video of Steve and Natasha practice fighting showed up, and Nat was totally kicking his ass. Then, some particularly shooting practices of Natasha and Clint, Tony hitting targets in his suit, Thor sneaking looks in the mirror and smiling, then came the video of Katya practicing in the gym.

"Nice moves." Tony commented. Pepper looked interested now, surprised by the skills of someone so young. Natasha laughed when she attacked Steve.

"Nice! That's my sister!" She said.

"Wait, Jarvis, will you play side by side footage of Katya and Natasha practicing?"

"Yes, sir."

The footage showed up of them doing their floor exercises, with their guns, and shooting practice. It was like looking at a mirror image. They held the gun the same way, did each move in perfect synchronization, and always hit the target square in the middle.

"Jeez, this takes the term mini-me to a whole new level. Right Nat?"

"Sure does."

"What exactly are you guys doing? You look like you're in a trance." Pepper commented.

"Red Room stuff." Katya replied.

"Oh. I didn't know you guys still did that." Tony said.

"Old habits die hard." Natasha replied.

"You ready to go?"

"Yeah, just give me a second." Katya brushed her teeth, then put on her sneakers.

Then took the elevator down the garage, and got into Nat's car. The drive only took about 15 minutes, then they pulled into a school parking lot. Katya started to feel a little light headed, and silly.

"What's so funny?" Natasha asked after she heard Katya snicker slightly.

"I'm not sure, everything just seems so weird and funny today. The sign for Rupert's Bodega is just so funny."

"Probably your medicine, you'll feel better once you get used to it. Also, what do you want your name to be?"

"What do you mean?"

"I just wanted to tell you that I wouldn't recommend using your real name in case there are some Red Rooms operatives left and they find you through the school website."

"Okay, umm. Katherine."

"Katherine?"

"That's what Laura told someone my name was when she was explaining my sudden appearance and family connection to her friend, and I think that's a nice name.."

"Okay, Katherine Anne Rushman, it is."

"Why Anne?"

"That's the middle name of a character from my favorite book."

"Oh cool. What book?"

"Time Traveler's Wife. Alright, are you ready?"

"Sure."

"Alrighty, let's do it." They walked up to the school and rang the buzzer where they were greeted by the principal.

"It's so nice to finally meet you Ms. Rushman, I'm Mrs. Davis." The woman said as she shook Natasha's hand.

"And you must be her sister that I've heard so much about, what's your name?" Katya shook her hand.

"I'm Katherine."

"Nice to finally meet you. I'm going to introduce you to some students who go here and they're going to give you a tour of the school while your sister fills out some paperwork."

"Okay." The woman showed them to the front office, on the way there Katya began to analyze this woman's character.

"She has brown hair and brown eyes, about 5'6 on the ground 5'8 in her fairly conservative heels. Wears glasses, but takes them off when making a point and for pictures, so smart and sympathetic towards others, but not overly sweet. I get sort of McGonagall vibes from her. Seems like she dresses formally on most school days except Friday when she might wear a school shirt with jeans and a nice sweater or something. She probably has at least two kids, maybe three, but has some communication problems with her husband, most likely runs a book club among her small group of friends and prefers dogs over cats." She thought to herself.

"Katherine, this is Liz, Matt, Henry, Chloe, and Peter."

"Hi." Katya said quietly.

"Well, I'll let you all get to know each other and start the tour, Ms. Rushman, my office is this way."

One of the kids, Henry, was slightly biting his lip and shuffled his feet nervously. Matt looked her up and down as if he was sizing her up, Peter looked somewhere off into the distance, and Chloe fiddled with her bracelet. Liz seemed hesitant, but was the first to speak.

"Hi, so your name is Katherine right?"

"Yeah, you can call me Kate or Katie though."

"Awesome, let's go right this way and we'll show you the cafeteria. Matt, want to take it away?"

"Umm… yeah sure, this is the cafeteria, nothing special about it, we have two block lunches, A lunch, and B lunch. The food's okay I guess, and you can have lunch outside if it's nice out." Katya nodded and followed them down a large hallway.

"This is the gym, it's pretty nice for a school gym, our football team sucks, but our basketball, baseball, and lacrosse do pretty well. We have pep rally's once or twice a year, they're pretty fun, there's cheering and music and games." Said Chloe.

Then, they just went around and looked at where most of the classrooms were.

"You're going into your sophomore year right?" Liz asked.

"Yeah."

"Most of your teachers will probably be on the first and second floors."

"So, like what's your thing?" Henry asked.

"My thing?"

"Yeah, what do you like to do for fun?" Matt turned to look at her with great interest.

"Um… I don't know, I like to watch TV I guess, and exercise." She said hesitantly.

"Cool."

"You might want to think about doing athletics and some sports."

"Yeah, maybe." The rest of the tour Liz and Chloe stood at the front and did most of the talking, Matt and Henry were conversing quietly and would look back at Katya every so often. That left Katya to walk next to Peter in the back."

"So uh, where did you move here from?" Peter asked quietly.

"Ohio."

"Oh nice, really pretty up there." Peter said, smiling at Katya, interest and some sort of admiration in his eyes.

"Oh! I forgot to mention our school also has some clubs, we have an art club, debate, decathlon team, science club, robotics, and theater."

"That's cool, which one are you in?"

"I'm on the decathlon team."

"Cool."

"Yeah! You should totally join, it's super fun. Have you ever watched, like Jeopardy?"

"Yeah, the game show."

"It's like that, we do like trivia and stuff. We won the district competition last year."

"No one cares Parker!" Matt complained.

"Yeah!" Henry agreed. Katya just rolled her eyes lightly.

"High schoolers are so dumb." Katya thought to herself.

"Katherine's probably more into sports, right?" Matt said, looking slightly nervous at his assumption. Katya shrugged.

"It depends on the sport." She decided.

"But, decathlon sounds fun too."

"She's just being nice because she's new." Chloe tried to explain. Katya was annoyed now, she had learned the hard way that a lot of times it's knowledge not physical strength that saves your life. She leaned over the balcony and looked down at the cafeteria below. This school has an interesting smell, it reeks like sweat, cheap bleach, linoleum, and pencil shavings. Finally, the group stopped arguing and they could finally finish the tour.

"Well, that's about all, any questions?" Liz asked.

"No."

"Okay, well… we will see you in a couple of weeks then for school."

"Okay. Bye, nice to meet you." She met Natasha in the office, where she was still talking with the principal.

"Oh, Katherine please come sit, I was just introducing your mom, I'm sorry I mean sister, to your counselor, Ms. Argo." Katya waved hello and sat down.

"You're just in time, because we need to get your schedule set up." This took only a couple of minutes, because of the fake transcript Natasha had made, besides some classes were required for her grade. Natasha made her pick all honors classes so that it would slow her down just slightly, even though most of the material would just be review. The hardest part was picking electives, but she ended up picking art, home economics, and creative writing.

"Alright, well it was lovely to meet you and I'll see you in a couple of weeks, okay?"

"Okay, bye, nice to meet you."

"Bye."

They both plopped in the car, both suddenly exhausted from the interaction.

"So what did you think?" Natasha asked as she pulled out of the Parking spot and got onto the main road.

"It's a pretty nice school, teenagers are annoying though."

"Katya you're a teenager."

"Yeah, but not really." They both laughed.

"Can we go home now?"

"Yes, but tomorrow I have somewhere special to show you."

"Okay, can't wait." Katya said as she tiredly tucked her knees into her chest and looked out the window.

Natasha turned up the radio as she drove back to the compound. Katya and Natasha immediately flopped onto Natasha's bed.

"Hey! Get out, this is mine!" Natasha said in a mocking way.

"Oh shut up!" Katya said as she crawled further into the mess of blankets so that she was covered completely in them.
