Chapter 38: "I really liked your smile."

They could only watch in amazement as Bloom used the flame of the dragon to destroy the Codex and Darkar with it. The weird dark mud that had kept most of them glued and frozen to the floor was slowly evaporating. The world around them was disappearing and finally they were all laying around Darkar's throne room exhausted and out of breath. They still could not believe that after hours of battle Darkar had been defeated. All thanks to Bloom. The girl's powers were just extraordinary. He had never thought that light magic could be so powerful. He took a few deep breaths to calm himself down before slowly getting back on his feet. The people around him were doing the same thing.

As he evaluated the damages around them. His eyes suddenly met the most beautiful pair of green eyes. They were shiny with tears and completely locked on him. He himself could not look away from them. As a matter of fact, he needed them closer. He slowly walked towards the owner of those pretty eyes. His steps picked up a bit of speed when he noticed that she was doing the same thing; he did not care about the people around them. They were probably too occupied with their own reunions. He did not stop even when he heard Faragonda's voice joining the rest of the conversation on his left.

Now the only thing that mattered was erasing the distance between him and his fairy. Now that he could finally move his body , he wanted to use it for a good purpose. It felt like hours before they finally met in the middle of the room. He could finally discern the lone tears that were freefalling on her cheeks. Their chests were inches away from each other. He could feel her breath on his chin. And smell her strawberry shampoo and minty perfume. His eyes followed the trail of her tears, from her eyes to the corner of her mouth. That is when her pink lips became the focus of his attention. This girl had been the center of his thoughts during his whole time as a prisoner. He still remembered her shocked and terrified expression when he was under Darkar's control he had tried to hurt her. But even after all that. The girl had still tried to find him. She still had on a relieved smile and happy smile when they reunited. She was just incredible. And he knew he would regret doing this but right now he just did not care about anything but kissing this amazing fairy's pink lips.

He pulled her by the waist and the back of her neck and leaned down to press his lips against hers. She froze in shock. But he pulled her body even closer to him. And barely a few seconds later he felt her body relax against his. She surrendered herself to the kiss by wrapping her arms against his neck and moving her lips against his. It had been years since he felt this amount of satisfaction and completeness. She was his exception. From now on she would always be his exception. He pulled back just a bit to let them both catch their breath.

"A lot." He heard her mumble while keeping her eyes locked in his.

"What?" He asked her a bit dazed.

"A lot. I missed you a lot, Dimitri."

At her words he could not stop a smile from taking over his lips. He could feel their magical auras intermingling beautifully together. How could two completely opposite things work so well together? How could his aggressive and dark magic go so well with her beautiful flowery one. But his questions were completely abandoned when he felt her finger press against the corner of his mouth.

"No, don't stop, I really liked your smile."

He chuckled lightly at her words before leaning back down to join their lips a second time. And perhaps his lips were in the form of a smile during most of the kiss but that will remain a secret between him and Flora.
