Bad Sis, Good Sis
By: Jan J. (P.J.P.), Little Sister's Keepress
"Now, what are you going to say to Ashley, your classmate?"
A pair of brown eyes blinked as chestnut hair twirled in nervous hands.
"Now would be a good time!" the taller brunette exclaimed, exasperatedly.
An even taller blonde tapped the taller brunette on the back.
"Sammy, maybe now is not the best time," Brooke McQueen advised. Behind her step-sister's back, Brooke winked at the shortest sister in the room.
"Brooke, I would really appreciate it if we presented a united front!" Sam McPherson-McQueen expressed as she blew wavy caramel tresses off her forehead.
"I'm with Bee!" piped up the littlest sister, Mackenzie "Mac" McQueen, as she ran to Brooke.
Brooke picked Mac up and kissed her on the nose. "Mac-Munchkin!"
"Bee!" squealed the "Mac-Munchkin."
"Will you two stop?" Sam attempted to frown. "Mac has to deliver an apology."
"Aw, sis, can't this wait?" Brooke begged, pouting.
"Are you five?" Sam inquired frostily, but there were shimmering smiles in her eyes.
"I am!" answered Mac. "What's wrong with being five?"
"Nothing's wrong with that," Sam sighed, gazing at the two. "However, Mac, you need to realize that it is not right for you to hurt others."
"I didn't mean to!" Mac protested. "Scout's honor!"
"But you made Ashley cry!" Sam countered. Her tresses flipped.
"You see, Sam, I knew Mac did not do it on purpose," Brooke butted in.
"She still needs to apologize!" Sam doggedly declared.
"Are you upset with me?" Mac asked. The shorter brunette jumped down from Brooke. Mac hugged her taller counterpart around the legs.
"Very," Sam huffed.
"Sammy, I'll apologize," Mac proclaimed.
"You will?" Sam said, surprisingly.
"Yes," Mac solemnly answered.
"But, you will because it is right?" Sam pressed. Brooke pinched the brunette's side.
"One day at a time, General," commented Brooke.
"I am not a general," Sam affirmed while rubbing her attacked side.
"You are so!"
"Did you just stick out your tongue at me?"
"What are you going to do, Commander?"
"Bee! Sammy!" the littlest sister called. She leaped and landed between her two siblings.
Both Brooke and Sam sheepishly glanced at Mac.
"Are we going to go now?" Mac asked.
"Where are we going?" Brooke responded.
"To apologize to Ashley!" Mac explained as she stared at Sam.
"Of course," Sam answered. "I am proud of you, Mac."
"But, Sammy," the littlest McQueen continued.
"Yes, Mini-M?" Sam patiently inquired.
"I really did not know that Ashley, the new kid, was a boy!"
Brooke raised her eyebrows at Sam.
"I'll explain on the way," Sam, the ever-suffering but understanding sister, promised.
