Ch 1.
Yugi and Tea were sitting in the game shop one morning when they heard a shout from outside, getting closer. "Is that Joey?"
"Oh no, whats happened now?" Tea sighed, facepalming a little. Rapid pounding sounded on the door. "Yuge, lemme in!"
Yugi went to the door and opened it for his friend. "Joey? Whats wrong?" Joey fanned the tickets he held in his hand. "You up for a trip, buddy?"
"Wow thats awesome Joey, where are we going?" Yugi asked now getting excited. "Oh no, not another trap." Tea sighed
"It says we are heading for Hawaii for a week-long vacation, all expenses paid," Joey explained. "Really? Hawaii?" Tea asked, raising an eyebrow still suspicious.
"Yeah, we have an hour to get to the airport so put a little pep in your step, Tea!" Joey grinned."Geez Joey, im not even packed yet, talk about a last-minute rush. I'll see you guys later, I better get home and pack." Tea dashed out the door.
"I should get packing too." Yugi chuckled, dashing up the stairs."What does the Pharaoh think of going?" Joey asked, raising an eyebrow.
"I don't know, I haven't heard from him all morning. We were up pretty late last night talking." Yugi blushed a little."Just hurry, we need to get there like yesterday." Joey complained, trying to hurry his friend.
Once on the plane, Yugi could feel Atem starting to stir inside the puzzle. 'Good morning sleepy head.' Yugi chuckled quietly to himself.
Atem yawned. 'How long have I been asleep?' 'Most of the morning' Yugi smiled. 'What is that noise?' Atem raised an eyebrow.
'We are on an aeroplane, Joey won us a trip.' Yugi informed him. 'To where?' Atem asked, keeping his eyebrow raised. 'A place called Hawaii and I think you will like it there.' Yugi smirked.
'Sounds like a great-Wait, why is the plane dipping?' Atem asked, confused. 'I-I dont know' Yugi stuttered, scared.
"Attention all passengers, please remain in your seats and brace for impact in the likelihood that we crash." The pilot announced over the radio. 'Yugi!' Atem shouted before all went black.
Yugi suddenly woke up with a start. "Pharaoh! What the- Where on earth are we, Joey wake up."
Joey groaned as he sat scratched his blond hair as he looked around. He spotted Yugi and then a furry brown rodent charging at them, fangs bared. "AEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEIIIIIIIIIIIII what the hell is dat!"
Tea woke up when she heard Joey scream and jumped to her feet. "That is one big Rat! Do something Joey!"
"Me? What the hell can I do?" Joey demanded. "How about RUN!" Yugi took off in the opposite direction. "Good plan Yugi." Tristan and Tea followed him. "Hurry up Joey!"
Once they had lost sight of the animal, Yugi paused, confused. "Where's the Pharaoh?" "Dont look at me buddy, I havent seen him. You're the one with da puzzle." Joey pointed at it. "I can't sense his presence. I think he's gone!" Yugi looked up at them, panic in his eyes.
"What! How is that possible? How can he be gone?" Joey looked confused and grabbed Yugi's puzzle. "Yo! Pharaoh, you in here?"
Miles away Atem sensed, rather than saw his surroundings, he was in something cool and buoyant. Something cool was wrapped around his waist, and he felt himself rising gently. He was confused. He opened his eyes and saw nothing but a sparkling blue around him. Looking down, he saw he was surrounded in a giant bubble, the distorted image of something catlike floating beside him. 'Where am I?' he thought.
'I have saved you'. The creature spoke back to him, majestically bowing its head. 'Who are you? What is this place?' Atem asked, looking around.
'You are in a land called Johto, I found you unconscious in the water so I put a protective bubble around you to stop you from drowning. As for who I am, I am known in these lands as a Pokemon.'
'Pokémon? May i please return to the surface? This is very strange'. He asked, trying not to panic. The creature bowed his head, as her crystalline crown started to glow making the bubble rise to the surface, gently placing it on the ground.
As the bubble dissolved, Atem looked up at her. "I am eternally grateful." He shivered a little, still wet. 'Your cold, let me help you'. The creatures crown glowed again as the water in Atems clothes appeared in the air and then disappeared.
Atem's eyes widened at this. "How did you do that?" he asked aloud. 'You dont seem to be from around here and I dont know how easy it will be for me to explain it to you but you seem like an intelligent human. As I told you, I am a Pokemon with the power of water, so Im able to control such things as water and Ice'.
"I have never heard of a Pokemon before. What is it exactly?" Atem asked, confused still by the whole situation. 'It is hard for me to describe what I am exactly but this land you are in is inhabited by other creatures like myself as well as my Brothers and other classes of pokemon known as legendaries.' The creature informed him.
"There are others? Are there any other ones besides legendaries?" Atem asked, now getting a better look at the creature he was talking to. 'Yes, many others, we range in different types as well. For example, my two Brothers have Electric and Fire powers.' The creature replied.
Atem gazed across the water, thinking. Suddenly he jerked upright. "Do you know if I was with anyone else, er-" 'Suicune.' She responded, knowing what he was about to ask. 'I am known as the Aurora pokemon, so you may call me that if you wish.' Suicune smiled, inwardly.
"Aurora, do you know if I was with anyone else?" Atem asked, still looking around for his friends. 'Im sorry I do not, when I found you, you were alone. May I ask what the humans call you.' Aurora asks, gently gazing at Atem.
"Atem. It's a pleasure to meet you." Atem smiled, about to put his hand out but then retracted it. 'Likewise.' Suicune nodded. 'Now would you like me to help you find your friends?'
"Please, they're as foreign to this world as I am and I fear they're in trouble," Atem said fearfully, knowing that he was Yugi's protector and was failing at his job so far.
'I can try to sense them for you if you tell me what they look like.' Aurora enquired. Atem stared back at her, letting the image of his friends to flood his mind.
Suicune closed her eyes, now recieving the image in her mind. 'Ah yes, I see. I can sense you have a very strong connection to these humans but I have bad news for you.'
'What is it?' Atem asked, concern showing on his face. 'Your friends arent in this land, I sense them in another place.' Suicune gave Atem a sad look.
'How do we get there?' Atem asked, knowing nothing about this new land he was in. 'I dont and wouldnt usually allow this but, you may sit on my back and I will take you to where your friends are.'
'I would greatly appreciate it.' Atem smiled at Aurora, slowly approaching turned and sat down, so he could get on her back. 'You may climb on, but be gentle please.'
'Of course.' Atem carefully climbed on, unsure where to grab to hold on. 'You may either hold my neck or gently grip my mane.' Suicune noted, slowly rising to her feet.
'Thank you.' Atem gently gripped the flowing mane before him. 'You need to hold on tight, we have a big journey ahead of us and I should warn you that I run fast.' Aurora advised.
'I've ridden a horse before, I'm used to fast. Not that I am comparing you to a horse.' Atem chuckled, sheepishly. Suicune chuckled before she took off running over the surface of the various lakes and rivers she clung to the beast below him, thrilled and terrified at the speed.
Eventually they arrived in Kanto and Suicune began to slow down. 'I think I may have found your friends.'
'Where are they?' Atem looked all around eagerly. Suicune stopped and pointed her paw in their direction
Atem dismounted from Suicune's back and gazed back at her. 'What happens to you now?'
'Go to them, they are your friends after all. Arent they? I dont know if I should come any closer.' Aurora looked at Atem, unsure. 'You might startle them. Stay hidden until I can introduce you?' Atem nodded, moving behind a nearby bush.
"Yea so ya see Officer, he's my best friend and I really miss him and we are all getting worried about him." Joey explained."I'm sorry, you are the only one I've seen with hair like that." Officer Jenny explained, straightening her blue uniform. "Hey, wait, who's that?"
Tea turned around, her eyes wide. "Pharaoh? Is that really you?" "Last I checked." Atem grinned. "I'm so glad I found you."
"But how are you here?" Yugi asked hugging him and then gasping. "Y-You have your body back?"
"I don't know how it happened, but, I'm not complaining." Atem chuckled, hugging Yugi back. "Neither am I." Yugi blushed, hugging him tighter. "Ive missed you so much."
"I missed you too. I was kinda racing to get here, with some help." Atem smiled, trying to free himself from Yugi's tight grasp. "Oh?" Tea raised an eyebrow as Yugi stepped back from him. "What kind of help?"
"Aurora helped me. She seems to know the area we're in." Atem explained. "Pharaoh? Whose Aurora?" Yugi looked confused then smirked. "Have you got a girlfriend that you haven't told us about?"
"Yea, where is she Pharaoh? Is she pretty?" Joey asked.
"Girlfriend?" Atem asked blankly. "Oh no, she's not my girlfriend, but she is pretty. Aurora, you can come out now." Atem called over his shoulder.
Standing up, Suicune walked out from the behind the bush and slowly up behind Atem, gently nudging his arm. 'I heard what you said about me, thank you.'
'It's true.' Aurora, these are my friends. Guys, this is Aurora." Atem introduced his friends to the big blue cat-like creature that was now standing a head height above him.
'Please tell them I said hello, I cannot talk to them like I can with you.' Aurora told him, now sitting down."Pharaoh? Did you hear that as well? Is Aurora talking to you like we do?" Yugi asked raising an eyebrow.
"Yes, you can hear her?" Atem nodded, raising an eyebrow. Yugi nodded. "It must be because of the Millennium puzzle that only we can hear her."
"Argh, I hate it when you two keep secrets from us." Joey complained, holding his head.
"I suppose that's true. What do we do now?" Atem looked around his friends, who all shrugged.
Suicune gave Atems arm another small nudge. 'May I suggest something? Most humans in this land go on a thing called a journey, where they travel around the region and get this called badges. If you are interested in doing something like that?'
Atem looked at Yugi at these words. "I would be open to it if you are."
"Aurora just suggested we go on a journey together, what do you guys think?" Yugi looked up at Joey, Tea and Tristan. "What kinda journey?" Joey asked, uncertain. "Last three journeys we took have been more terrifying than I like."
Suicune giggled a little at Joeys statement. 'I hear your friends have been through alot together, but tell them that they dont need to worry being here, there are no real dangers that can harm them.'
"She assures me it's safe. And...are you suggesting what I think you're suggesting, Aurora?" Atem turned to her.
Suicune looked a little sheepish and nodded mentally. 'I cant leave you after saving you from drowning and I know these lands better than anyone else.'
Just as Yugi was about to speak he spotted Officer Jenny approaching them. "Excuse me again, I couldnt help overhear that you were all going to start a journey together and thought it would be only right if you took some of these poke balls with you." She smiled holding out three small red and white balls.
Atem took them gratefully. "Do you have enough for my friends? And I'm sorry, we don't have any money on us."
"Oh, Im sorry. Of course here, here's three each for you three." Jenny smiled, handing them the balls. "The best thing for you five to do is go to Pallet town and get your starting pokemon, its what all trainers do in this region." Suicune nodded. 'She is indeed correct, I can guide you there if you wish?'
'Yes please.' Atem nodded. "She wants us to follow her. Thank you, officer."
"No problem at all, if ever you need help the rest of my fellow officers are always around." Jenny smiled, giving them a small wave as she walked away.
'Your friends look tired, would they like a ride? We have a long way to go.' Suicune asked. "She wants to know if you would like to ride on her." Atem informed the others.
"Wow? Really? Would there be enough room?" Yugi asked, looking around his friends and then at Aurora. "I'm sure she wouldn't offer if it wasn't. She really is fast." Atem climbed onto Suicune's back.
"Can I have a hand up please." Yugi looked up at Atem and Joey who had just climbed up. Atem helped him up and nudged Suicune's sides once everyone was up.
"Woah, this thing is fast." Joey quickly grabbed Atems shoulder as Suicune started to run."Told you." Atem grinned over his shoulder.
As Suicune slowed to a gallop, Atem spotted a building at the top of a hill, a windmill spinning lazily in the warm breeze. 'Is that it?'
'I believe it is, professor Oak if I recall correctly.' Suicune sat down so they could climb off easier. 'I will sit down here and wait for you all, I would hate to damage anything.'
"Thank you, Aurora." Atem leapt from her back and patted her silky head. "I will be back, I promise."
'I know, I trust you Atem.' Suicune smiled at him.
"Let's go see this professor." Atem headed towards the stairs but was blown back by Joey running past him. "Last on up the stairs is a rotten egg." Joey chuckled, running ahead of them.
"The one that knows the least is the one that runs ahead." Atem rolled his eyes at Yugi, chasing him. "You can say that again." Tea rolled her eyes and giggled.
Atem entered the lab after Joey, panting. "Joey, don't just run off like that." "Sorry Pharaoh, I cant help it. Im excited, for once we're not gonna be attack by some evil nutcase." Joey chuckled very loudly.
"Hello, I wasn't expecting anyone today and who might all you be?" Asked the old man who came walking out from his office with a steaming hot cup of coffee."Are you Professor Oak?" Atem asked politely.
"I am indeed young man, let me guess officer Jenny sent you here?" Oak smiled, taking a sip. "How did you know?" Atem asked, raising an eyebrow. "Because I can see your not from around here and she is always helping people and directing would be trainers my way." The professor chuckled. "She said you could help us by giving us a starter?" Atem suggested, hopefully.
Professor Oak raised an eyebrow. "Did she now, well-considering none of you are ten years old I dont normally hand out starter pokemon to just anyone but you are in luck, I just had a Charmander, Squirtle and Bulbasaur egg hatch out this morning."
"What are they exactly?" Atem asked, raising an eyebrow."Follow me, come and see for yourself." Professor Oak walked past them and into a small room. "Hey Pharaoh, I think you and Yug should pick first." Joey suggested as the group followed.
Atem approached the table where three balls identical to the one's Officer Jenny gave them. He looked between the three and picked up the one on the left. "How do I do this?"
"Just press the white button in the middle and the pokemon you have chosen will emerge," Oak instructed. Atem did so and an orange lizard pokemon emerge, the lick of flame igniting on its tail. "Char!"
"Aww that is so cute!" Tea squealed. "Your turn Yugi." Joey nodded
"Here goes." Yugi picked up the middle ball and copied Atem. A blue turtle emerged. "Squirtle, squirt!"
"Nice one Yug, I hope I get a good one." Joey eagerly picked up the last ball, pushing the button. A teal frog looking creature emerged. "Bulba!"
Atem chuckled. "Nice one, Joey. Can you tell us more about the ones we chose?" He asked Oak. "Of course, but first I really should've asked what your names were." Oak chuckled, sheepishly rubbing his neck.
"I'm Atem, this is Yugi, this is Joey, and Tea." Atem introduced his friends to the professor. "And Im Tristan." Tristan chuckled, snapping back into reality.
"Its nice to meet you all, now about your pokemon. The one you have Atem is known as Charmander a very powerful fire type, yours Yugi is Squirtle which will be just as powerful when it evolves and your's Joey is Bulbasaur, the powerful yet graceful grass type." Oak explained.
"What do we do with them? And what do you mean by evolving?" Atem asked, looking down at his new partner pokemon.
"Seeing as you are not from around here, allow me to briefly explain." Oak started as he told the three boys about getting gym badges and about how battles work. "So you see, that is how you evolve or make your pokemon grow."
"Sounds easy to do. Anything else we need to know?" Atem asked. "Yes, one more thing. You will need this." Oak turned around and grabbed three red objects off the desk. "These are called a Pokedex, this will help you learn more about any pokemon you meet and your new partner."
"Thank you. How do we catch a new pokemon?" Atem asked, feeling the pokeballs on his hip. "I see that officer Jenny has given you boys some pokeballs, use them to catch your next team member, just simply enlarge the ball by pressing the center button then throw it at the target but first you must use your starter to weaken it first." Oak instructed.
"We can do that, right?" Atem asked, looking at Yugi and Joey.
"Are you kiddin' Pharaoh, of course, we can. This is much easier than defeatin' bad guys left, right and centre." Yugi nodded along with Joey.
"Thank you, professor. Where do we head first?" Atem asked. "The closest gym to here is Pewter city." Oak pointed through the window in the general direction.
"Thank you, we better get started." Atem waved goodbye and headed out the door. "Goodbye and good luck my boy." Oak waved back to them as they left.
Atem led the way down the hill looking around. 'Aurora?'
'Im here Atem.' Suicune emerged out of the water, shaking the remaining droplets out of her mane. "Time to make this official." Atem pulled out Charmander's pokeball. "Charmander, go!"
Quickly extending one of her pure white tail ribbons, Suicune flicked the pokeball back at Atem shaking her head.
"What's wrong?" Atem asked, catching the ball. 'Your charmander is only a baby, I cant fight it. Perhaps try throwing an empty ball.' Aurora smirked, feeling hopeful.
Atem smiled. "All right, if you insist." He reached for an empty pokeball on his belt and pressed the button. "Pokeball, go!"
Suicune stepped forward letting the ball hit her crown as she disappeared into the beam of red light. Atem waited with bated breath as the ball wobbled for a few seconds before going still. "Does that mean she is mine?" he asked the others anixously.
"I think so, it looks like the light in the middle has gone out." Yugi pointed out. Atem walked over and picked up the ball. "Should I let her out?"
"I think she'd like that." Yugi nodded. "Come on out, Aurora!" Atem called, tossing the ball in the air.
Suicune appeared in a bright blue glow, her long purple mane flowing behind her. 'Thank you for letting me out Atem.'
"Welcome to the team, Aurora. Do you mind?" he asked, holding up his new dex. 'Not at all, you need to learn all you can.'
Atem held up the dex so it could read it. The screen on Atems pokedex flashed, bring up a picture of Suicune. A computerized voice start talking. "Suicune, the Aurora pokemon, Suicune is said to be the reincarnation of the north winds, it can instantly purify filthy, murky water."
"So that explains a lot. Do you know where we go next?" Atem asked, looking around. "Didn't the prof say, somethin about some town called Pewter?" Joey reminded him.
"Do you know where that is Aurora?" Atem asked her. 'We need to head to the North.' Suicune pointed with her nose.
"We need to head north." Atem repeated to the others that couldn't hear. "I would like to do some catching before we get there, if you don't mind walking."
Joey groaned, his shoulders slumping. 'We have a pokemon big enough to be a horse and your makin' us walk Pharaoh?"
"Do you want to go take on the first gym with just one pokemon?" Atem raised an eyebrow. "I certainly dont." Yugi shook his head.
"Yea, I guess you two are right. Come on then, we better go get somethin'." Joey sighed in defeat.
"Is there a place with lots of Pokemon, Aurora?" Atem asked, looking to her for guidence. 'Viridian forest is the best place to go if you want to catch more pokemon.' Suicune advised.
"Lead the way." Atem gestured with his hand for her to lead. 'You are my trainer now Atem, I have to follow you.'
'Thank you. Would you lead the way to our next destination? We are new.' Atem asked again, insistant. 'Of course, Master.' Suicune giggled, cheekily. 'Follow me this way.'
'You don't need to call me master.' Atem sighed, following her. 'Im sorry, are you alright?' She asked sensing his sadness.
'I'm no longer anyone's master.' Atem looked down, a sad expression on his face. Yugi was now able to sense that Atem was sounding sad. "Pharaoh? Are you alright, whats wrong?"
'I'm not used to this life.' Atem he sighed again but heavier this time. 'Im sorry Atem, I wish I could help you. Is there anything that Aurora or I can do?' Yugi asked, concerned for his partner.
'I honestly don't know." Atem shrugged, weakly. 'Please cheer up Atem, I dont like seeing you sad.' Yugi thought back, so as not to make a commotion.
Before Atem could answer, there was a rumble. "Woah! Whats going on, Atem?" Yugi held his arm.
Atem put a hand to his stomach and grinned sheepishly as Joey said, "I know that rumble, Da Pharaoh's hungry!" Tea and Yugi started laughing. "Seriously? Is that all that was?" Tea giggled.
"No wonder you were grumpy, we havent eaten since breakfast." Yugi chuckled. "And I do have my own body." Atem pointed out. "Aruora, do you know anything we can eat?"
Suicune looked around, suddenly spotting a large Oran berry tree. 'Stand back.' she warned before blasting a jet of water towards the tree, knocking alot of the berries off their branches.
"Woah!" Atem leapt back in shock. 'These berries are safe for Humans and pokemon to eat, help yourself.' Aurora advise, nudging one over to Atem with her nose.
Atem helped himself and dug in, finding them delicious. "Thank you." Sitting down for a short rest, Suicunes stomach growled as she watched her trainer eat.
Atem heard the growl. "Come over and have some, Aurora." 'Are you sure? I knocked them down for you all to eat.' Aurora gestured.
'You knocked down more than enough. Help yourself.' Atem waved her over. Suicune still wasn't sure, no humans had ever been this nice to her before. "Here." Atem lightly tossed one to her, sensing her dilemma. "Do not worry, no one shall be mean to you again.'
'I am greatful that you are such a nice human, thank you Ma-Atem.' Sicune smiled before starting to munch on the berry. 'No problem, I would never be mean to anyone.' Atem smiled. There was a rustle in a nearby bush. "What is that?" he asked the others.
"You find out, you're the leader." Joey backed away as Suicune now became defensive. 'Be careful, it could be dangerous.'
'Can you tell what it is?' Atem ask, studying the shaking bush. 'It doesnt feel strong but it could hurt you more than me.' Aurora also had her eyes locked on it.
'Be prepare to protect us, just in case.' Just as he thought it, a caterpillar exited the bush, trilling. Atem blinked. "Well, it's probably not dangerous."
"Eww what is that th-." Before Tea could finish her sentence Joey stepped forward, pokeball in hand. "Outta da way Tea, this ones mine. If I know anything about monsters this thing is going to evolve into somethin huge. Get'em Bulbasaur."
'Does he know what he's talking about, Aurora? What does it evolve into?' Atem asked. 'Yes that pokemon does evolve but I am not familiar with its evolution line.' Aurora admitted.
Thinking that the Caterpie was weak enough, Joey grabbed an empty ball from his pocket and threw it at the bright green caterpillar. "Please stay."
"Good luck, Joey." Atem encouraged.
Watching the ball shake twice then three times, it clicked shut. "Yes! I got it, now lets see what this thing is?" Joey reached for his dex and pointed it at the new caught pokemon. "Caterpie, the "worm" pokemon, Its short feet are tipped with suction pads that enable it to tirelessly climb slopes and walls."
"You got a bug, Joey. Why?" Tea demanded, shivering. "Not all bugs are bad Tea, I think this little guy is kinda cute." Yugi chuckled.
"Am I the only sane one around here?" Tea muttered. "I need to find my first one." Atem sighed. "So do I." Yugi agreed, sighing.
Just as Joey was about to speak, a flock of Pidgey descended down onto the ground, pecking at the leftover Oran berries. "Hey, what's that?" Atem point to the flock of birds.
"Some sort of bird, try to catch it Pharaoh." Joey encouraged. Atem looked at Suicune. 'Do you mind if I use Charmander?'
'Not at all, I would knock that small bird out with one Water gun.' Aurora backed up and sat down. Atem picked up his pokeball and threw it, calling, "Go Charmander!"
All the pidgey flew away except one, who flapped its wings and scratched its feet fiercely on the ground, cooing loudly. "Careful Pharaoh, that thing looks like its gonna charge at ya." Joey warned
After strategically battling with only using his instincts, Atem managed to get Charmander to make a critical hit. He activated an empty pokeball and tossed it. Pidgey disappeared inside and after a few wiggles, was caught.
"Woah Pharaoh, your a master at this already." Joey grinned. 'Well done, that was a very nice capture.' Suicune congratulated.
"Thank you. Both of you." Atem nodded tossing the ball up in the air and catching it. "Shall we move on?"
"Yes, because now its my turn." Yugi looked determined. "I'll need to catch something if Im to keep up with you two." "We can find something along the way". Atem encouraged.
"I hope so." Yugi sighed, feeling defeated. Atem led the way to the entrance to the forest. "Here we go, you ready?"
"Ready as I'll ever be." Yugi gulped as he followed closely behind Atem. "What do you want to be your first one?" Atem asked, looking back over his shoulder at Yugi. "I dont know, mostly because I dont know what I can get." Yugi shrugged.
As they moved deeper into the forest, a caw suddenly sounded and another bird shot out, black, orange, and white. "What's that?"
'That is a spearow Yugi, but watch out, unlike pidgey, they are dangerous.' Aurora warned. Yugi nodded, throwing out Squirtle. He fought valiantly, taking clues from his friends and managed to catch Spearow. "Got him!" He cried, holding up the ball.
"Go Yug'." Joey grinned, clapping. 'Well done Yugi.' Aurora gave him a nod. "We better get going, we don't want to get attacked by anything." Atem suggested, starting to head out.
'I will protect all of you, no matter what.' Aurora told Yugi and Atem. "Yea and no more bugs please." Tea looked nervous.
'Thank you.' "Tea, if we run into a bug that won't stop attacking us until I knock it out, it would be unkind for us to leave it."
"Yea I guess your right." Tea shrugged. 'Just a word of advice, I suggest you try defeating some of these pokemon in this forest to make yours stronger.'
"Good idea, we'll do that." Atem nodded. "She says we should battle while we're going to make ours stronger."
"Sweet, Id like to get to know Bulbasaur abit better." Joey grinned grabbing Bulbasaurs ball off his belt. "Good idea Joey, maybe I should let Squirtle out for a while too." Yugi agreed
Atem nodded and released Charmander. "Charmander, I don't think you've formally met Suicune." 'Dont be scared little one, I wont hurt you.' Aurora sat down to make herself look less intimidating.
"She's our new friend." Atem assured Charmander. "She's quite gentle when she wants to be". Charmander was unsure for a start but walked slowly over to Aurora but held his paw out and smiled. Aurora gently wrapped Charmanders paw in one of her tail ribbons like a "hand shake". 'Nice to meet you.'
Atem led the gang through the forest, battling as he went. At the last battle, within sight of the exit to the forest, Joey fought off a Rattata. Before he could recall Caterpie, however, it was bathed in a white-blue light. "Um...Whats wrong with my Caterpie?" Joey asked, concerned.
"I'm not sure, Aurora?" Atem turned to Suicune. 'Its evolving.' Aurora pointed her nose at the pokemon who was now changing shape.
"What is it going to be?" Atem wondered aloud. The light disappeared and a green crescent shaped creature appeared in front of Joey. "Metapod."
