Once again, thanks to SparklingDashofEgypt for helping me with this and special thanks to my other friend Lil' Dark for reviewing, much appreciated. I hope you like this one ^^
Disclaimer: I dont own Pokemon or Yugioh either. Each to their respective owners.
Having spent the night in the Pokemon center, it was now time for the boys to go for their badge at Brocks gym.
'Atem, may I come out.' Aurora asked, feeling rather uncomfortable in her ball.
'Of course.' "Do you mind if I release Aurora?" Atem asked his friends. "Not at all, go for it Pharaoh. Your so lucky to have her." Tea smiled warmly. "I know I am." Atem smiled back and tossed the Pokeball. "Come on out, Aurora."
'Ooh, that feels so much better.' Aurora stretched her legs and shaking her head and mane. "Ready for a gym battle?" Atem asked her.
'I may be a little strong for your first gym.' Aurora told him, honestly. 'I don't know what to use then.' Atem admitted, shrugging. 'Use your Charmander and help it grow so it can be evolved.' Aurora suggested.
'Thank you.' Atem nodded before turning to the others. "Shall we go into the gym first?" 'Atem, you and your friends may want to heal the pokemon you have been using before taking on the gym.'
"Excuse me, can you help us heal our pokemon?" Atem asked the pretty redhead nurse at the desk. "Of course, please place your pokeballs in this tray please." Nurse Joy asked, putting it in front of Atem on the desk.
Atem set his two pokeballs down on the tray. "I'm new."
"I love meeting new people, you can call me Nurse Joy. What are your names?" Joy asked, collecting Joey and Yugi's pokeballs. "I'm Atem, and this is Tea, Tristan, Yugi and Joey." Atem answered, pointing to each in turn.
"So nice to meet you all." Joy smiled then gasped in surprise. "Oh my, is that Suicune yours?" "Yes, she's mine." Atem stated proudly. "You are a very lucky trainer, Suicune is a very rare pokemon. But please be careful there are people out there that will try and take her from you." Joy warned in a whisper.
"Who would do that?" Atem looked confused and shocked at the same time. "There are a group of thieves in this region that call themselves Team Rocket and they are especially on the look out for rare pokemon."
"I'm sure Suicune can handle herself." Atem looked over at Suicune with a smile."Being such a strong legendary pokemon, I have no doubt but please be careful Atem." Joy pleaded.
"We will." Atem nodded. "Thank you." "Your welcome Atem and good luck with your gym battle." Joy called back to the gang as she went back to what she was doing.
"Thank you again. Ready?" Atem asked the others. "Yea! I wanna get my first badge." Joey fist pumped. "Take it easy, Joey. You'll get your chance." Atem chuckled.
"Sorry Temmy, I guess its only fair that you go first. Then again the leader wont last five seconds against that Suicune of yours." Joey chuckled.
"She's not going to battle." Atem shook his head. "Oh? Why?" Joey raised an eyebrow. "Yea Atem, why arent you using Aurora? I thought she'd be the first pokemon that you'd use?" Yugi asked, looking confused.
"She wants to give Charmander a chance." Atem looked at the pokeball in his hand. "Well I guess that's nice of her, its probably about time the little guy evolved anyway." Joey shrugged.
"Let's go then, thank you Nurse Joy." Atem nodded and left. The rest of the gang followed Atem out the door, also thanking nurse Joy.
'The gym is in the next block, I can see its roof.' Aurora told them, happily. 'What are you so happy about, Aurora?' Atem asked her as they walked.
'I'm not sure, I guess I'm just a little excited about seeing you battle for the first time.' she admitted, almost skipping. 'I have only lost one match before in the old way.' Atem admitted, remembering back to all the duels he had been through.
'I know you will win Atem.' Aurora smiled inwardly.
Atem gave her a smile in return and turned to the others. "Let's get over to the gym, then."
"Yea, I cant wait to get my first badge." Joey grinned. Atem headed to the gym with the others following.
When they arrived, the gang gazed at the building wide-eyed. "Woah, this place is huge." Tea gasped. "This is our first stop. We might as well go in." Atem took in a deep breath. "After you, Pharaoh." Joey gestured to the door
Atem opened the door an found a rocky field. "This is...unusual."
"What kinda gym is this anyway?" Joey asked a loud, looking confused.
"Welcome to the Pewter gym." Called a rough and almost gravelly voice.
"Hi, me and my friends wanna challenge your gym." Joey told him
"How many badges do you have?" The man standing at the front asked, his arms crossed over his chest. "We don't have any." Yugi shook his head.
"You've come to the right place then. You beat me, you each can get the Boulder Badge." Brock told them, smiling. "Go on Atem, your turn first buddy." Joey encouraged
"What are the rules?" Atem asked the leader. "All you have to do is beat my three pokemon." Brock poked his thumb back to the statue of the three rocky pokemon behind him.
"But I only have one." Atem protested. "You have two pokemon Temmy." Joey called out. "But" Atem looked up back to where Suicune was hidden. 'Are you sure you won't?'
'Im sorry, I cannot.' Aurora shook her head.
"I will only use one pokemon." Atem declared, pulling Charmanders ball off his belt. "If that is what you want to do then, let this battle begin." Brock announced.
Atem used Charmander and after a long-fought battle, he lost. "He lost!" Joey gapped, not believing what he had just witnessed.
"Would you like to try again?" Brock asked, returning his Onix to its pokeball. "Not now, I need to train up." Atem sighed, returning Charmander.
"As you wish, who is up next?" Brock asked, looking between Joey and Yugi."I guess me." Yugi looked nervous. "Good luck Yug'." Joey cheered.
Atem watched as Yugi battled and won against Brock.
"Wow Yug, that was an amazin' battle." Joey congratulated. "Its my turn now."
"Good luck Joey." Yugi smiled at his best friend as they high fived each other as they passed.
"Thank you, right Brock now I'm gonna beat ya." Joey gloated flicking Bulbasaurs ball in the air. "You can do it, Joey." Yugi cheered.
"Thanks Yug'." Joey smiled at his friend before calling Bulbasaur out.
Atem watched the battle, looking more anxious. Finally, Bulbasaur was knocked out. "Nice try, Joey."
"Oh man, now what am I gonna do." Joey sighed, his shoulders slumping as he withdrew Bulbasaur.
'I cant watch this anymore.' Aurora growled, jumping down and out of her hiding place in front of Joey, roaring fiercely.
'Aurora, what the-?' Atem asked, shocked. 'I cant watch these little pokemon get beaten up any longer, tell this gym leader that I want to challenge him myself. Me against his Onix.' Aurora snorted, glaring at Brock. "Um, what is going on, Atem?" Brock asked, raising an eyebrow.
"She wants to face you and your Onix." Atem replied, forcing himself to get back up. 'Tell him, I want to battle him for both your badge and Joeys.' Aurora told Atem, her eyes still locked on Brock. "She wants to battle you for both our badges." Atem explained to Brock.
"I don't usually give out two badges for one battle but considering I am being challenged by a Suicune, I accept." Brock chuckled.
'Good luck, just don't go too hard on him.' Atem smiled at Aurora nodding in agreement. 'I wont. Please dont be sad anymore Atem, I doing this for you.' Aurora replied, a small smiling creeping on her face.
'Just be careful. I'll be fine.' Atem folded his arms over his chest. 'I will be fine.' Aurora nodded as she squared off against Brocks Onix who towered over her.
With one final water attack, Onix fainted with a shudder of the floor. "Good job, Suicune!" Atem and the gang cheered for her.
'Thank you. I couldnt have done it without you Atem.' Aurora gave him a bow. 'And thank you for putting up such a great fight Onix.'
"Thanks for the great match." Atem walked over, extending his hand.
"Your Suicune is amazing Atem, congratulations." Brock smiled, handing Atem and Joey their first badge. Atem withdrew his hand, looking sheepish. "I wanted to shake your hand, actually."
"Sorry Atem." Brock chuckled, putting his hand out for him. Atem grasped his hand and shook it. "You better watch out for the Cerulean gym leader with that Suicune of yours." Brock chuckled, ending the handshake.
"Oh?" Atem looked surprised, raising an eyebrow. "No need to be alarmed, Shes a good friend of mine and the Water-type gym leader." Brock smiled.
"Water? I should catch some more pokemon so I have more to challenge her with." Atem nodded. "Thank you, Brock."
"Your welcome and good luck against Misty." Brock smiled. "Good luck on your own matches." Atem nodded and headed out with the others.
"Did Brock just say the next gym is Water?" Yugi asked, nervously.
"Yeah, why?" Atem asked as the gang made their way out of Pewter City. "I have a Water-type so I really need something to beat hers." Yugi started to panic a little.
"I'm guessing electric beats water but I'm not sure." Atem shrugged, still not knowing a lot about the world he was in. "I think grass does as well?" Joey scratched his head. "We really need to learn more about this stuff, its hurtin' my brain."
Atem rolled his eyes, then straightened up, looking at Suicune. 'You're a water type, do you know anything about weaknesses you have?'
'You are correct about water being weak to electric and so is Joey about my grass weakness. So that is actually my only two weakness, my Brother being one of those.' Aurora told him. 'That Sounds bad, I hope we don't run into him if you get into a fight or anything.' Atem looked worried for his new friend.
'As far as I know, he is still in Johto so we are safe.' Aurora giggled. 'If you're that excited to see him we could make a trip.' Atem teased.
'I appreciate that but I wouldnt even know where to start looking for him, Johto is a very large region.' Aurora said as she looked around at the area they were in.
'Is this region as big as Johto?' Atem asked, trying to learn all he could. 'I actually cant tell you that, I believe it is just as big as my home region.' Aurora informed him, as much as she could.
'How do you like travelling with us?' Atem asked, watching her in fascination as she walked. 'I am enjoying it very much, Im glad that when I found you that you are a nice human and your friends of course.' Aurora smiled.
'We enjoy having you with us.' Atem smiled back. 'I will do everything I can to protect you and your friends.' Aurora vowed.
'They like you, you know. A little scared of you, but they like you.' Atem told her truthfully. 'Please tell your friends that they have no reason to be afraid of me, I would never hurt them. I am bonded to you now as my trainer so I can only do what you tell me to do.' Aurora told him, knowing that she would never hurt the friends of the human she saved.
'You don't have to do everything.' Atem shook his head. 'But I do, its my job to protect you.' Aurora argued. 'You should just enjoy the journey. Your job is only to protect me when I need protecting.' Atem chuckled a little. 'Ok, I will try. I promise.' Aurora gave a small nod.
As the gang walked their way towards Mount moon, Atem and Aurora continued to talk to each other. Many conversations were had between the pair, including about their own separate journeys and pasts.
One thing Aurora was curious about, was a name that she had heard her trainers friends calling him. 'Atem, I wanted to ask you. Ive been hearing your friends call you a strange name, is there any reason for that?' Aurora asked.
'What strange name do you mean?' Atem asked, now curious himself. 'I am not sure of it now, Joey calls you it a lot.' Aurora gestured back to Joey with her eyes.
Hearing the conversation, Yugi chuckled. 'I think she means when we call you Pharaoh, Atem.'
Atem suddenly clicked, hearing Yugi in his head as well. 'Ah, okay. It's a name people like me called royalty back then.'
'Royalty? Are you a King or something?' Aurora asked, now interested. 'You could say that.' Atem smiled.
'That is amazing, you do not look old enough to be a King.' Aurora noted cheekily. 'Kings are young where I'm from.' Atem stated proudly, remembering his days as Pharaoh.
'I guess we make a good pair then, I'm known as a Queen* where I'm from.' Aurora giggled, her crystalline crown glinting in the sunlight to prove a point.
'An honour to meet you, your highness.' Atem chuckled, giving Aurora a mental mock bow. 'Likewise, your Majesty.' Aurora giggled again.
"Ah Tea, is it just me or is da Pharaoh really quiet today?" Joey whispered to Tea nudging her with his elbow.
"He's been quiet." Tea agreed. "Pharaoh?"
"Yes Tea? Something wrong?" Atem asked, stopping to look at her. "You're just being quiet, that's all." Tea noted.
"Im sorry for ignoring you Tea, Ive been talking to Aurora and getting to know her better." Atem admitted.
"It's okay, you are new friends now." Tea smiled. "Just don't forget your old ones."
"Of course not, for all you and Joey have done for me. I would never ever forget about you and I only wish you could talk to Aurora the way Yugi and I can." Atem smiled back at her.
Aurora jerked her head up suddenly, ears perked in alert. 'He's nearby.'
'Who Aurora? Whats wrong?' Atem asked, alerted by her actions.
"Pharaoh, what's wrong?" Joey asked, unnerved by the tense exchange between Atem and Suicune. "Aurora can sense something and its upsetting her." Atem told him, trying to pin point what Suicune was looking at.
"She must sense her brother, Pharaoh." cackled a familiar voice. Atem recognised the voice straight away. "Bakura! Come out you coward." He barked.
"Why should I when I can give your new friend a family reunion?" Bakura cackled, pointing to his new friend.
"Stay away from my Suicune and what do you mean by family reunion?" Atem growled, standing very defensively in front of Aurora. "She hasn't mentioned her brother?" Bakura's voice registered surprise.
'Is he right? Is this what you could sense?' Atem turned Aurora, raising an eyebrow. 'Yes, I can hear his thoughts now.' Aurora replied.
'Long time since I last sensed your presence, sister.' Raikou, hissed at his sister. 'Please be careful Aurora.' Atem told her, looking back at her out of the corner of his eye.
'Raikou? What are you doing with that human? Cant you sense the evil aura coming from him.' Aurora growled.
'This "evil" human you speak of told me all about your human's evils. He must be destroyed.' Clouds formed in the sky around them, flashes of light appearing in it.
'Oh no, Atem get your friends out of here right now, I dont want you to get hurt.' Aurora turned, trying to push him back with her head. 'Aurora, what is going on?' Atem asked, concerned.
Just then a bolt of lightning streaked down from the sky.
'My Brother has been mislead by that other human, get out of here. I can deal with Raikou myself, just go!' Aurora barked
'Please brother, what are you doing? What this human has told you is all lies.' She pleaded.
"Get out of here!" Atem shouted to the others. 'I'm not leaving you.' He told Suicune.
'Oh really? He wasn't evil? He told me how he was corrupted in his own world.' Raikou growled back at Aurora.
"What the hell is goin on Pharaoh? And what is that thing that Bakura has?" Joey asked.
'Please leave Atem, I can handle my Brother, just go.' Aurora pleaded before turning back to Raikou. 'No he wasn't and if you dont believe me I will fight you for the truth.'
'I don't leave my friends behind.' Atem told her.
'Fine, I have a few seconds to spare. Let's see if you've aged as gracefully as I have.' As he spoke, Raikou leapt lightly from his perch on a cliff and landed before her several yards away.
'I commend your loyalty.' Aurora gave Atem an inward nod, keeping her eyes on her Brother. Taking afew steps forward, Aurora blasted Raikou with an Ice beam out of nowhere. 'Seems Im still more graceful than you'll ever be.'
Raikou was blasted back several yards and vanished in a flash of speed. 'Be careful, Aurora!' Atem warned. 'It's not over.'
'Where are you Brother.' Aurora tried to keep track of him.
Atem sensed the crackle of lightning forming and leapt in front of Suicune. "No you don't!"
Aurora watched the bolt of lightning hit Atem square in the chest as he landed hard on the ground. 'Noo, Atem!'
'Look what youve done. You've killed my trainer.' Aurora growled, her red eyes glowing with rage. 'My job is done.' Raikou walked away.
'No its not!' Aurora growled, charging at her brother. 'I will get revenge for my trainer.'
Raikou whipped around and lashed out, sinking electrified fangs into her.
Gripping his chest, Atem sat up just as Aurora was attacked. "No! Aurora!"
'How...could...you' Aurora whispered, dropping to the ground as small bolts of electricity still buzzed on her body.
Atem lay back down, too weak to move, still clutching his chest. Yugi ran to his side. "Atem, are you ok?"
"No...Aurora..." Atem moaned, his muscles spasming
"Ah Yug', Auroras not looking too good." Joey called, kneeling next to her.
"The Pharaoh isn't either. What can we do?" Yugi asked, looking wildly around.
"I dont know, we dont know anyone here." Joey shrugged.
"I just thought of an idea. Joey, catch!" Yugi tossed Suicune's pokeball to Joey, having taken it off Atem's belt. Joey caught the ball. "What am I meant to do with this?"
"It's her ball, the safest thing to do would be to return her to it and run back to Pewter City." Yugi suggested.
"What!? Yug are you hearin yourself? I dont wanna go all the way back to Pewter city on my own with that psycho nutcase Bakura around with his new pet!" Joey growled.
"Remember what he said? He wanted to kill the Pharaoh, he has no reason to hurt you! You've got to hurry, she needs to get to the center!" Yugi growled, raising his voice slightly.
"You know Bakura doesnt care about that kinda stuff, he knows Im a friend of Atems, he wont think twice about tryin to kill me." Joey argued
"Just go, you big chicken, we're wasting time arguing!" Tristan shouted at him. "Fine!" Joey returned Aurora to her ball and took off running.
"Tristan, I need your help." Yugi told him. "Sure Yugi, what do you need?" Tristan asked
"We need to move the Pharaoh to safety. Would you help me?" Yugi asked, looking up to his tall friend. "Here, let me get him." Tristan gently picked Atem up bridal style. "Where are we going Yugi?"
"A clearing where we can set up camp for the night." Yugi suggested, looking around.
"Lead the way Yugi, but shouldn't we wait for Joey?" Tea asked, concerned.
"I suppose if we set up here it will work." Yugi unrolled the sleeping bag."Put him in here." Tristan carefully laid Atem down."Poor guy, I hope he's going to be ok."
"Maybe we should build a fire to keep Atem warm," Yugi suggested.
As Tristan and Tea got to working on getting a fire started, Tea noticed Joey coming back with a strange look on his face. "Joey? Whats wrong?"
"Aurora's gone!" Joey told them. Yugi jumped to his feet."What! What do you mean shes gone?"
"I gave her to Nurse Joy to examine and she came out a bit later and told me she'd disappeared." Joey explained.
"Nice one Joey! Now what are we going to do? Atem is going to kill us if he wakes up and finds Auroras ball not there." Tea growled.
"What was I supposed to do?" Joey put his hands up in surrender. "Um, find Officer Jenny or actually go out and find her." Tea snapped.
"She can travel on water, she could be anywhere." Joey yelled, throwing his hands up in the air in almost defeat.
Just then Tea had an idea. "Yugi, you can talk to Aurora cant you? Can you try and see where she is?"
"I suppose, I don't know how far it reaches." Yugi close his eyes. 'Aurora?'
'Yugi, how is my master?' Aurora responded, recognising the voice.
'Im afraid he's not good after taking that attack from your Brother but where are you? Joey said you disappeared.' Yugi asked, concered
'I have business with my brother. Do not tell him why I left. Tell him what you have to. I must do this on my own.' Aurora told him, panting as she ran.
'What if you get injured and dont return, Atem will be heartbroken. He loves you Aurora.' Yugi suddenly looked sad at the thought of her not returning.
'Better safe and heartbroken than dead. I will return when it is safe.' Aurora promised.
'Please be careful Aurora, the man that he is with is very dangerous.' Yugi warned. 'I know and I will.' Aurora vowed.
Yugi closed the link off with Aurora and sighed sadly, "This is not good."
"What is it?" Joey asked. "Aurora has gone off to find her Brother." Yugi told them. "What? What about the Pharaoh?" Tea asked, shocked.
"If he wakes up and finds her gone, we have to lie to him about where she is." Yugi sighed again. He hated having to lie to Atem.
Just then there was a soft groan. "No one mention S.u.i.c.u.n.e." Yugi whispered before turning to Atem. "Atem, how are you feeling?"
"LIke I was hit by a truck, what happened?" Atem asked, struggling to sit up. "We were attacked by Bakura." Yugi partially lied. "Please dont sit up, you need your rest. Lay back down Atem."
Atem groaned in pain and obeyed, shivering a little.
"Tea can you get another blanket for him please?" Yugi asked.
"Of course." Tea grabbed another blanket and handed it over.
Just as Yugi was flicking the blanket out to cover Atem, he caught something out of the corner of his eye. "Thats better not be what I think it is."
"Hello?" Joey called, getting to his feet.
A large bright yellow cat with black "V" shaped stripes and a purple cloud on its back came limping out of the bushes, dropping down infront of Yugi. 'I need help.'
'You're Raikou?' Yugi asked warily, noting the injuries.
'I am and now I wish I had listened to my sister.' Raikou groaned, struggling to breath.
'Why should we trust you?' Yugi stared down at Raikou, his brows furrowed, his hands on his hips.
'I dont blame you for not trusting me, Im so sorry for hurting that trainer but I need help.' Raikou hissed as he moved his paw.
'Brother!' an angry voice shouted in Yugi's head.
"Uh oh. Tea Auroras coming back and she sounds mad. Now what can we do?"
'Convince her of my change of heart, I cannot battle her.' Raikou pleaded, only just being able to lift his head.
'I can try but I dont know if she'll listen to me, Im not her trainer.' Yugi sighed, looking over at Atem.
Atem looked directly into Raikou's eyes. 'Attack her and we will attack. If you truly do come in peace, we will not allow her to hurt you. She will listen to me.'
'Im not strong enough to even walk, let alone stand and fight. I will never hurt anyone ever again.'
'Aurora, we should hear him out. Please.' Atem pleaded, closing his eyes.
'Why should I, he almost killed you and he turned on me.' Aurora snorted.
'He's your brother. And he sounds remorseful.' Atem tried her.
'He should have thought about that before he betrayed me and attacked you.' Aurora snapped.
'I will not let him suffer more if he is not going to attack.' "Yugi, can you do anything for him?" Atem asked, opening his eyes to look at him.
Aurora huffed in defeat. 'Could I please have a moment alone with my Brother, we need to talk.'
Yugi shook his head. "I dont know what to do, Bakura will still have his ball."
'I don't think I can go anywhere.' Atem shook his head. "We'll deal with that when they have a chance to talk."
'I wont attack him, I only need to talk, please Atem.' Aurora pleaded, locking her crimson eyes with Atems deep violet ones.
Atem carefully got to his feet and swayed a bit. "Can you guys help me?" he asked weakly.
Yugi rushed to his side. "Ive got you Atem, you need to take it easy."
"Aurora needs to talk to her brother." Atem panted.
"I heard." Yugi chuckled. "I just hope they dont start fighting as soon as we're gone."
"I don't think they have the energy to." Atem indicated for him to help him away.
"Poor Raikou is in really bad shape, I feel sorry for what Bakura did to him." Yugi sighed sadly.
"Is there anything we can do for him?" Atem asked Yugi.
"I think we need to let them sort it out, Aurora will know what to do." Yugi smiled."I hope so." Atem nodded wearily. "I need to sit down."
Yugi looked around, spotting a stump. "Here, take a seat over here." Atem eased himself onto the stump. "This body thing is a little weird for me."
"You havent had a good time so far, have you. It will get easier, I promise." Yugi continued to smile. "Not really. Thanks, Yugi." Atem gave him a weak smile. "Im always here for you Atem, no matter what." Yugi promise, giving him a gentle hug.
"Thanks again." Atem smiled. "I just hope Aurora and her Brother learn to get along again, Im worried about her." Yugi pulled a face, look back to where they had left the two beasts.
"Do you think it's going okay?" Atem looked back in the direction they came from.
"Im sure they are ok." Yugi smiled, but no sooner had he said that, Aurora and Raikou came into view. 'My Brother has something to say to you.' She told Atem. Atem looked up at him. 'Yes?'
'Im really sorry for attacking you earlier and I hope that you will forgive me.' Raikou dropped down into a submissive position.
'Not the first time I've been attacked. Have you worked it out?' Atem asked, still suspicious of Raikou. 'Yes we have and hes agreed to listen to me and stay away from bad humans.' Aurora told Atem, also keeping her eye on Raikou.
'Do you want to come with us?' Atem asked, giving Raikou a small smile.
'Atem, could I have a go at catching Raikou? Its not fair if you get both of them.' Yugi complained.
'Oh, I dont know.' Raikou looked unsure.
"I was actually thinking that you should take him. If he is willing. You couldn't be in better hands.' Atem assured Raikou.
'I want you just to catch me Yugi, I dont want to fight you and hurt your other pokemon, Ive learnt my lesson.' Raikou vowed.
Atem grinned. 'I'd go for it, you were wanting an electric type and I can attest to his power.'
'Ok, if your sure. But I dont think its fair to use him just now, you didnt use Aurora.' Yugi noted.
'Not quite the truth. She chose to battle.' Atem smirked.
'Alright.' Yugi nodded to Atem. "Thank you Atem.'
'Are you ready Raikou?' Yugi readied his ball. Raikou nodded, taking a stance in front of him.
Yugi enlarged the ball and threw it at Raikou. 'Thank you for this chance, Atem.'
'No problem Yugi, you've earned it.' Atem smiled as he watched on.
Raikou disappeared into the pokeball. After a few wiggles it stopped.
'Did I really just catch him.' Yugi asked, nervously excited. 'Yes you did.' Atem chuckled. 'See if he wants to come out.'
'Um, Raikou? Would you like to come back out?' Yugi asked nervously.
'Yes, please.' Raikou answered. Yugi pushed the center button of Raikou's ball, releasing him as he appeared in a flash of bright yellow light. 'Welcome to the team.'
'Thank you.' Raikou gave Yugi a nod.
"I guess we should head back and let Tea, Joey and Tristan know whats going on." Yugi suggested.
'Master, are you able to get on my back?' Aurora asked
"Yugi, can you help me get on Aurora?" Atem asked, trying to stand up.
"Of course, take it easy Atem." Yugi smiled, giving him a boost up onto her back. 'I'm on, Aurora. Wait until Yugi is ready.' Atem told her.
'Of course, I wont be going fast anyway, not with the condition you are in.' Aurora agreed, looking back at him. 'I'll be fine.' Atem smiled weakly.
'Im ok to walk Raikou, our camp isnt too far away.' Yugi gently stroked his shoulder. 'Lead the way then, Master.' Raikou bumped Yugi's cheek gently with his head.
'You can just call me Yugi, none of this Master stuff please.' Yugi blushed.
'Sorry, M-Yugi.' Raikou crinkled his nose up at Yugi, in a smile.
'Its ok Raikou, no harm done.' Yugi smiled as they walked back into the clearing of their camp. "Joey, Tea, Tristan, Where are you guys, I have someone here I want you to meet." Yugi called
Joey, Tristan, and Tea appeared from the trees. "Glad you're back."
"We have a new friend guys." Yugi beamed as Raikou walked up behind him. "Aieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! What you doing with dat?" Joey shreiked, pointing at Raikou.
"Raikou is on our side now, Aurora healed him and I caught him." Yugi beamed.
"Congrats, Yugi." Tea beamed. "Thanks Tea, I couldnt have done it without Atems help & guidence once again." Yugi looked over at Atem and smiled. "It was all you, Yugi." Atem disagreed.
"Well you gave me the chance to catch him." Yugi argued. "I think if you hadn't had the chance he would have given it." Atem pointed out.
"Yea, I guess you are right but if your not going to take the credit, I'll thank Aurora for helping me then." Yugi poked out his tongue at Atem and chuckled.
'You're welcome, Yugi.' Aurora answered.
"I guess we should get some rest before we travel any further." Yugi suggested, yawning.
"No kidding..." Atem slid off Suicune, the excitement of the day finally getting to him as he passed out. Yugi noticed Atem and grabbed him before he could hit the ground. 'Let me help him, Ive learnt a new move that I have used on my Brother.'
Yugi looked over at her. 'Is it safe?'
'Of course, Id never hurt my master.' Suicune vowed
'Where do you want him?' Yugi asked. 'Just where he is, is fine.' pointing to the spot where he was with her nose.
Yugi carefully set him down. Aurora went over and stood near Atem, as she started to glow bright blue, enveloping him in a large bubble. Atem opened his eyes finally, finding himself in a bubble. "What the-?"
'Its ok Master, Im using my water powers to heal you.' Aurora told him as his body began glowing blue. Atem's eyes widened as he felt his strength return.
'You should be completely healed from my Brothers attack now.' Aurora said as the bubble disappeared.
Atem sat up, feeling better than he was. 'Thank you.' he smiled gratefully at her. 'No problem Master, Its the least I could do since I couldnt protect you.' Aurora bowed her head.
'What have I said about that?' Atem raised an eyebrow. 'Im sorry, bad habbit.' Aurora blushed, covering her face with a paw.
'It's okay.' Atem smiled. 'Do you feel better now?' Aurora asked, coming closer to him.
'Yes, actually I do.' Atem nodded, giving her a pat. 'Im glad to hear it.' Aurora smiled.
"If you two are done talking, we should really get to sleep now." Yugi suggested. "You're right, Yugi." Atem nodded, climbing into his sleeping bag.
'We will keep our masters warm.' Aurora & Raikou both thought as they went and sat next to Atem and Yugi. 'Thank you, Aurora.' Atem told her sleepily.
The next day Yugi awoke to find the pokeballs he'd left out, were missing. "Guys, wake up! My pokeballs are missing."
Joey heard the commotion and woke up. "Hey, Yug's right. Mine are missin' too."
Atem slowly sat up, rubbing one eye as he lifted the corner of his sleeping bag. "I still have mine."
"Hey, dats no fair. Why do you still have yours and we don't Pharaoh?" Joey complained.
'We (Aurora and Raikou) know who took them, it was that group of thieves that nurse Joy warned us about.' Aurora told Atem and Yugi.
'Can you sense them?' Atem asked.
Aurora looked at her Brother. 'Raikou, can you sense anything?'
'I think over by that mountain.' Raikou pointed with his nose in the direction.
"Raikou has just told me that Team Rocket are in that big mountain." Yugi pointed. "Didn't Brock say dat was Mount Moon?" Joey asked.
"Yeah, he did." Atem replied thoughtfully. "Atem? What are you thinking?" Yugi asked, noticing the expression on his face.
"Not sure, but one thing's for sure, we need to get our Pokemon back."
"Ah, no duh Pharaoh." Joey chuckled. "Okay, Mr. Smarty, what idea do you have?" Atem gave him a glare.
"Its ok Atem, he was only joking, Joey is just as worried about his pokemon as I am of mine." Yugi tried to diffuse the situation.
"Think before you speak, Joey." Atem muttered, turning away.
'Master? Is everything ok? What's going on? Why are your friends fighting?' Raikou asked. 'Joey was being insensitive.' Yugi explained. 'I could sense the tension between them.' Raikou agreed
"Atem? I was only joking but I was bein' a jerk. Sorry, buddy." Joey apologized. Atem gazed at him a moment, his arms crossed, then released the tension in one long breath. "It's okay. I'm sorry too."
"Im sorry to break up the lovely moment between you two but we need to get to mount moon before these Team Rockets idiots get away from us." Tea pointed out.
"Good idea, let's go." Atem led the way to the entrance. A few steps in, they heard an echoing female voice. "Hide!" he hissed at the other two.
A tall, thin dark-red haired woman stood in a white skimpy uniform and black boots, watching as a man with bright blue hair dug nearby. "Hurry up, James. The boss is impatient for those fossils. We were supposed to get them yesterday." She bossed him.
Spotting the long-haired women, Joey & Tristan's eyes bulged, there flopping out of their mouths. "Wow, who's the hot chick?" Joey whispered, trying not to drool.
"Put your tongue back in, they're obviously up to something bad." Tea smacked their heads.
"Ow! Tea! That hurt!" Joey growled, rubbing the back of his head. "Sorry, but you needed to stop being such a boy." Tea shook her head.
"What are those two doing anyway?" Yugi asked. "Looks like the guy is digging for something." Atem kept watching, wary. "Somethin' about fossils." Joey pointed out.
'They are up to no good.' Aurora growled. 'Can you stop them?' Atem asked her. 'I could but from what I remember, I risk being taken away from you.' Aurora looked sad.
'I don't sense much power in them, Aurora. We can take them.' Raikou told her. 'Are you sure Brother?' Aurora asked, slightly confused.
'Will you two help us?' Aurora asked Atem and Yugi. 'Yes. How can you help?' Raikou asked.
'Yugi and I will support you two when you're ready to go.' Atem smiled
Jessie looked up as Aurora, Atem, Yugi, and Raikou stepped into sight. "James, get over here, now!" she cried, eyes going wide.
James rubbed his eyes in disbelief. "Am I really seeing a Suicune and a Raikou in front of me?"
"You know these Pokemon?" Jessie asked, shocked.
"My Parents have a painting in their mansion of a Suicune, Raikou and Entei. They are the legendary pokemon of Johto, I think but what are they doing here in Kanto?" James looked confused.
Raikou gave a snarl, looking menacingly at them.
"Stop what you're doing or they'll attack." Atem warned.
"Ha! Like you can stop us! We have our orders from the boss and you twerps arent going to stop us." Jessie folded her arms across her chest defiantly.
"I wouldn't recommend it, Jessie." James looked worried.
'Take the woman, I'll take the man.' Raikou told Aurora.
Aurora gave her Brother an invisible nod as she took a stance, a ball of Ice forming in her mouth.
"James, don't forget we have pokemon of our own. Get out there Arbok." Jessie threw out her pokeball.
James hesitated a moment and threw out Weezing. "Sludge Bomb, Weezing!"
'Watch out Brother!' Aurora pushed Raikou out of the way, taking the hit before she could launch her attack.
'Sister!' Raikou shouted. 'Im...fine, just get them...' Aurora panted.
Raikou charged up and shot a large bolt of lighting at the two. They were blasted out of the tunnel and into the sky. "Aww man, I didn't even get to talk to dat girl." Joey sighed sadly.
"Pharaoh, can you have Raikou zap Joey?" Tea rolled her eyes.
"Im sorry Tea, I can't do that." Atem chuckled shaking his head.
"Lucky you. Let's get out of here, caves give me the creeps." Tea shivered. "Everything gives you the creeps." Joey chuckled. "Excuse me, Joey Wheeler, but consider what we've been through!"
"Yea I know, sorry Tea." Joey looked sheepish.
"I think I see the exit, you guys." Yugi pointed.
"Let's go before someone can block us in." Tea hurried out of the exit.
"Woah! That sun is bright!" Joey winced covering his eyes.
"Where is Cerulean City?" Atem asked, looking around. Aurora pointed eastward with her paw. 'Its this way, I can sense the water.'
"Let's go, Aurora knows the way." Atem told them.
The gang followed Auroras lead, eventually making it to the gates of Cerulean city. "Finally we're here, time to get our second badge!" Joey fist-pumped the air.
"Calm down, Joey. They'll be waiting for us when we get there." Atem chuckled. "Well, I'm not waiting any longer." Joey took off running. "Joey, wait for us!" Tea, Yugi and Tristan called after him.
