As morning rose in Adventure Bay, a group of kaiju traversed across the bridge, their shadows stretching across the structure. Titanosaurus' long neck allowed him to see farther than the rest, and because of this, he saw Godzilla's worried face.
"Hey Godzilla, is everything alright?" he asked. The Monster of Justice jumped slightly, then turned to his ally.
"No, not really. I'm worried that the humans here will be afraid of us, just like back home," the Kaiju King told his allies.
"Don't be surprised if they try to kill ya, humans can never be trusted," Gaira grumbled, only for Megalon's drill to smack him upside the head with a loud CLANG!
"Ignore the Jade Giant. Yes, the humans MAY be scared of us, but that's understandable. We're formally giant kaiju, some of whom are radioactive. Of course they would be worried, that's only natural," Gorosaurus assured his friend. Godzilla just nodded. No one could blame him for his nervousness, not even Gaira. After all, they all had early lives full of fear before they were crowned Earth Defenders.
Anguirus grinned at his friend.
"Bud, you have NOTHING to worry about. These folk accepted Rodan and me without question, all because we helped and protected them. You all did the exact same thing, so why should it be any different?" he informed his fellow Earth Defenders.
"What I would like to know is where the heck Screech is," stated Hack, his mandibles twitching. Beside him, King Kong, the King of Faro Island, nodded as well. He knew from the moment he saw her, he knew she couldn't be left alive. And there was also the fact of Mothra's reaction to her. The brown ape turned to King Ceaser, the Manda couple, and Megalon, who knew Mothra the most.
"King Ceaser, Megalon, Manda, Atragon, do you four know anything about a creature like Screech?" the Great Gorilla asked. Megalon tilted his horned head, clicking his outer mandibles in thought. King Ceaser put a clawed hand to his chin while the Manda pair slowed down to think.
"No, not that I'm aware of. We have fought many beasts together, each more deadly than the last, but nothing like Screech," King Ceaser spoke up at last, the others nodding in agreement. Goliath raised his massive hands to stretch.
"Who cares? She's badly toasted, and won't be here for a long time if she even survives," he stated lazily.
"We said the same for King Ghidorah, and how many times did he return before we curb-stomped the life out of him at the base of Mt. Fuji?" Angurirus spoke up, looking at the indigo beast.
"One time too many," Varan grumbled, remembering the burning pain of Gravity Beams racking across his yellow body.
"Are we sure we have to kill her?" Sanda, ever the kind-hearted Gargantua asked. Baragon reared up and patted his friend on the back.
"Sorry bud, I got a feeling we have no choice," he told the yellow-furred kaiju. At this point they reached the town, and waiting for them was Mayor Goodway.
"Hello, I hope you all enjoy your stay," she greeted cheerfully. King Ceaser stepped forward and bowed respectfully.
"Thank you for your hospitality," he stated.
"Of course, it's the least we could after you fought off Screech," she stated. Soon afterward, they entered the Town.
*Kaiju Pups theme song*
Kaiju Pups, Kaiju Pups, they're here to save the world!
The meteor flies through the air and hits the logo on the Tower, creating a flash of light.
When it clears the meteor is gone and a bolt of emerald energy crackles across the surface of the logo.
Whenever they are needed, when things are looking tough,
The Pups put their paws in a circle, another flash of light occurs.
Ryder and the Kaiju Pups have the kaiju stuff.
The light clears, showing the Pups back-to-back facing legions of kaiju and aliens
Chase!
Chase zips to a stop, blue electricity crackling across his body.
Skye!
Skye hovers in the air with an energy tornado, and energy wings sprouting from her back. She summons her energy machine guns on her wrists and points them at an unseen attacker.
Rubble!
Rubble charges a Flasher before jumping into the air, glowing, yellow metal flying in to collect around his right paw, forming a giant, yellow metal fist as the pupper prepares to Superman-punch the Flasher.
Zuma!
The Chocolate Lab stands on a pillar of water, pointing his paw at several Minions of Maoh, Antguirus, Garamedon, Hotter, and Bullpull as tons of sea life and the aquatic kaiju Titanosaurus, Ebirah, C-Rex, Gorgo and his mother Ogra arrive to back him up.
Rocky!
Rocky creates a rocky shell and summons multiple green, energy tools to fight off several Natarls.
Marshall!
Marshall opens his eyes, revealing them to be on fire, while his normally stumpy, dull fangs extend, reaching to the base of his neck.
No attack too big,
Diagoro pummels an unseen kaiju as Megalon and GMK Ghidorah emerge from the ground to help the hippo-like youngster out.
No kaiju too small!
A brown-furred hand covers Baby Godzilla and Azusa Gojo, protecting them from falling debris.
Kaiju Pups, they're on a roll!
Varan and Megaguirus tackle Rhiahn and Kollar away from civilians.
So here we go, Kaiju Pups!
The Pups and Ryder gather together and get into battle positions as Ka'tora and his allies loom over our heroes.
Kaiju Pups!
King Ceaser made his way through the town, his ruby eyes taking in the sights. Despite guarding the city of Okinawa, he spent much of his time sleeping, only coming out when he fought the alien war weapon Mechagodzilla and to put down the King of Terror at Mt. Fuji.
The shisa's thoughts were interrupted when his clawed foot hit something. Looking down, the Earth Defender saw his foot had hit a can on the ground. Picking it up, King Ceaser looked over it before looking around. Spotting a recycling bin, the guardian tossed the can away. He wasnt sure why, but it just felt right.
Goliath got a beach chair at the beach and snoozed away, while Varan, Ebirah, Diagoro, and his mother enjoyed the waves. A hump of sand rose as Megalon tunneled happily while Slash flew overhead. Further inland, Titanosaurus, Gorosaurus, and Baragon played with the town children while Kumonga crept to the shade of some trees. The other three Kamacuras observed the goings-on of the town folk from atop the Town Hall.
Out at the Town Hall, King Kong and Minya were helping Mayor Goodway plant flowers, and everything seemed well. But Godzilla, Anguirus, and Rodan were looked out towards the location Screech flew off to.
"You said Screech is still alive?" Godzilla asked the twin fairies in his clawed hands. They both nodded.
"Yes, she is still injured, and no doubt planning her revenge," they said in unison, worrying the group.
Although the trio wanted nothing more than to hunt Screech Down and kill her, they decided to just relax and enjoy the peaceful town...for now.
Surprisingly, the Earth Defenders had a good time, even Goliath and Gaira, despite the looming threat of a BBQed bat.
Later that night, the inside of the Lookout was more packed than ever before. Goliath lay against a beanbag, Kumonga twitched his mandibles in slumber. Baragon and Gorosaurus bunked with Anguirus, while Megalon dug his burrow for the Kamacuras bros. King Ceaser mediated while King Kong and Sanda slept nearby. Under the waves, the aquatic kaiju slept in a closely-knit group. While on Monsterland they would sleep in their own homes, but here, they needed to stick together in case of an attack. Plus, there wasnt any giant coral or rock structures to make into a home away from home.
But as the kaiju slumbered beneath the waves, Ebirah's antenna twitched as a strange scent hit them. Lifting his armored head up, the mutated lobster saw...something leaving the waves. Shifting his legs out from under himself he pushed off the seabed with a wave of his tail. The water bubbled and frothed as the kaiju's massive body surfaced. His compound eyes-built to cut through the darkness-saw a towering figure heading towards the mountains. Ebirah didn't know what to make of this, and as the shadowy figure disappeared, the Earth Defender sank under the waves. As he hit the seafloor, Titanosaurus sturred and opened an eye slightly.
"Hey bud, what's up," he sleepily asked. Ebirah's antenna waved with unease
"I just saw something exiting the town and heading towards the mountains," the irradiated crustation stated.
"Probably just Goji out for a walk," the dinosaur said before drifting back to dreamland. This did little to assure the lobster, but Ebirah wasn't convinced in the slightest. Nonetheless, he folded up his legs and drifted off into an uneasy rest.
Miles away, the sound of crashing trees and snapping jaws echoed through the ravine as Screech tore after the fawn, loathing that she was reduced to groveling for tiny amounts of blood to achieve her true power. Baring her serrated fangs, she was about to lunge forward when she heard something...or rather felt something, more accurately. A quaking jolt ran up her limbs, followed up by another, and another. Screech froze, then slowly turned around, and jolted at the sight of the towering kaiju glaring at her with brown eyes. Narrowing her blood-red eyes, she stood up spreading her wings and hissing. The new kaiju growled, then sucked in a deep breath and let out a battle cry.
"GROOOOOWWWAWRRRROOOOOOOW!"
Screech's ears flattened for a split second, then the evil mammal growled, and pushed off the ground, and flew at her foe, her furry wings pumping. Baring their teeth, the new kaiju clenched a clawed hand into a fist. When the bat was close enough, they swung up. While the attack was sloppy as heck, it nonetheless landed, hitting Screech's jaw and throwing her head back, stopping her advance cold. Growling, the mystery kaiju reached forward and grabbed hold of Screech's gut, its claws sinking into the flesh and causing blood to spray out. The bat's screech of pain was cut short when her foe slammed her to the ground hard, sending dirt and debris high in the air before gravity reclaimed them.
Screech lay on the ground groaning, then looked up at her opponent. Her blood-red eyes widened in terror when she saw her mystery foe raise a clawed foot to stomp her flat. Luckily for the cruel creature, she managed to roll out of the way, then took to the skies. She flapped a small distance away, then wheeled around, sucking in a deep breath.
Flaring out her wings, Screech came to a halt and let rip with her Sonic Screech. The strange kaiju bellowed in pain, but shot their arm out nonetheless and grabbed the furry bat in the face, cutting off her attack. Screech thrashed and beat her attacker's arm with her spine-covered wings, slashing through flesh and sending gallons of blood raining to the forest floor. Snarling hatefully, the kaiju twisted and smashed Screech into the mountainside with an Earth-shaking crash, sending boulders and other debris tumbling through the air and down the mountainside. Screech groaned in pain, and her blood-red eyes widened in terror when she saw the kaiju pull their fist back to cave in her skull. Screech rolled out of the way and took to the sky as the fist crashed into the area her head was moments ago. Looping around, the purple bat rammed her head into her foe's throat, sending it staggering back, wheezing, and choking. Grinning toothily, Screech darted forward to tear her foe's throat out, only for the kaiju to back-hand her away, sending a tooth spinning through the air with a trail of blood. It hit the ground point first, sending dirt into the air.
The purple bat flapped back drunkenly, her head spinning. Despite the sloppy blows, Screech took note of the strength of her foe. She lashed out her clawed feet, slicing trenches in her foe's chest, sending blood cascading down its fuzzy body. The red stood out amongst the pitch-black form. In a small part of her mind, Screech wondered why that was. Her thoughts were cut off by a punch to the gut. As she flew back from the force, the new kaiju winced at the deep cuts in its body. A loud crash sounded as Screech slammed into the mountainside, cratering it and sending boulders sailing through the night sky. Groaning, the bad bat pushed off and barreled towards her opponent. As she neared, she swooped upwards and smacked her spine-covered wing into her foe's jaw, toppling them with a yelp of pain and spilled blood. Flapping higher, Screech let herself fall clawed feet first.
Much to her growing anger, the kaiju rolled out of the way, letting Screech's claws embed themselves in the ground. Seeing an opportunity, the other kaiju lashed out with a claw swipe, only for Screech to pump her wings down and fly away, letting the clawed hand sever a few hairs on her tail while the monstrous mammal extended her fangs. Rising to their feet, the kaiju's brown eyes widened in shock when Screech shot at them, her maw open wide and aimed at their throat. Raising an arm, the kaiju howled in pain when Screech chomped down and started greedily absorbing their blood.
Yes, yes. YES! Screech pulled back, her vile eyes glimmering with sadistic glee. She was at full power. Time to show this fool what they were messing with.
The new kaiju stopped examing their injured arm when, out of the corner of their eye, they saw Screech's mane start to glow a slight red, the same blood color exiting her grinning toothy maw in whisps. Throwing her jaws open and her head forward when the glow reached its apex, Screech unleashed a wispy beam akin to Godzilla's Atomic Breath, only blood red. The Blood Beam exploded upon contact with the kaiju's chest, sending them back with a howl of pain that sent boulders tumbling down the mountainside. They reeled back, stumbling a few steps before collapsing to a knee, shaking badly in pain. Blood dribbled from their fanged muzzle and ash crumbled away from their chest in some places, revealing the stark white bone of their ribs. Screech cackled manically, the sight of her foe's suffering giving her great pleasure. Hearing her laughter, the new kaiju grit their teeth, then shot forward. Screech's laughter transformed into a wheeze of pain when the kaiju's furry fist plowed into their gut, knocking the wind out of their lungs and sending the bat flying back.
Catching herself in the air, Screech grit her teeth before flying at her fow erratically in order to increase her chances of not getting hit. Her fangs extended, this time to tear out the kaiju's throat. Said kaiju tensed up. Wait for it, wait for it, wait for it.
The bat flapped into grabbing range.
NOW!
Clawed hands shot forward faster than Screech could react, grabbing her long fangs, then in one brutal yank, tore them out by their roots. Screech barely had time to react to the pain before the kaiju raised their arms and brought the fangs down like daggers into Screech's clawed feet, pinning her to the ground. The vile bat's howls of pain echoed through the valley. Through her pain, Screech saw her foe tense up for some kind of attack. Wincing at what she had to do, Screech nonetheless opened her fanged maw and let loose with her Blood Beam, blowing off her feet at the ankles. Yowling in pain that wanted to make her pass out, she flapped upwards but felt something grab her tail and yank her down.
Muzzle-to-muzzle with the mysterious kaiju, her ruby red pupils shrunk to pinpricks when she saw the kaiju's underbelly light up in a light brown, whisps of energy slipping through their fangs. For a split second, Screech swore she saw a blue mask momentarily materialize around their eyes for a second, and blue crests on their shoulders and head. She would never get to ponder this. Throwing open their jaws, the kaiju unleashed a light brown beam at point-blank, nailing Screech's chest in almost a parody of what she did to it. An explosion blossomed from them as Screech was sent flying backward into the cliffside.
Once the dust settled, the damage was revealed in full. Light brown flames crackled and popped like a barrage of firecrackers, the flames eating away at the gaping hole in her chest, her still-beating heart ablaze. Her wings lay crumpled like limp cloth, their spines gone and holes in the membranes. Despite this, she still glared hatefully at the figure before her, who was charging up another shot. They fired, nailing Screech's heart, disintegrating it, and plowing into the mountainside. The dying body of Screech sagged a bit as the sheer heat from the beam melted the rock behind her. The kaiju cut off the beam, wisps of energy drifting and fading away. Screech was dead, a look of hatred across her face even in death.
The surviving kaiju panted and started wobbling on their clawed feet, teetering back and forth as their eyes conveyed a tired and weary look before they toppled backward, bolts of red energy erupting from their body and soon covering their whole body in a blinding crackling orb. When the light show ended, all that remained was a crater.
The next morning…
"RYDER!"
Gaira's cry, combined with the fact Jade Jaws slammed the door open, resulted in Ryder tumbling out of bed.
"W-what? Gaira, what going on?" the youth questioned while rubbing the sleep from his eyes. What he heard next fully woke him up.
"Screech is DEAD!"
Kaiju of the Week, Staring Ryder and Rocky
Ryder: Hi everybody, and welcome to Kaiju of the Week
Rocky: Today we're going over the Mean Green Gargantua, Gaira
Ryder: Gaira first appeared in War of the Gargantuas, where he and his yellow brother Sanda were offshoots of the Kaijun Frankenstein, "Born" when bits of his flesh regenerated after being blown off during his fight with Baragon. Now on to his powers and abilities.
Rocky: Aquatic Nature: Due to being "born" in the sea, Gaira can thrive under the waves. This is where he is most strong, though he has no problem fighting on land.
Ryder: Regenerative powers: Just like his "father", Gaira has a healing factor to help with wounds, though it's not as quick as a certain atomic kaiju, as Sanda was still limping when he and his brother had their final tussle in Tokyo. Like Frank, severed limbs can live, and even grow into another Gaira, provided they have a source of protein.
Rocky: That's just about it, for now at least, see you later!
A/N: hey everyone, the author here. Sorry uploads have been as slow as potatoes and molasses, I really don't know what to say other than life has been taking over, sorry again, and I hope you enjoy this chapter.
