Chapter 7
Kagome and Steve moved as quickly as they could go to find Natasha. They entered the infirmary room of Clint. She looked up to the stern faces of Kagome and Steve.
"Time to go," Steve said.
"Go where?" She asked curiously.
"Kick Loki's ass," kagome smirked to her. Natasha mirrored the smirk and knew this was going to fun.
"Can you fly one of those Jets?" Steve asked Natasha.
"No," Natalie shook her head.
"I can," Clint said stepping out of the bathroom.
Steve looked down at Kagome, and she gave a reassuring nod. "You got a suite?" He asked Clint. Clint nodded as his answer to him. "Then suite up," Steve said, leaving the room with Kagome following behind him.
They went to another room, and quickly grabbed everything they needed. They met up with Natalie and Clint and headed for the hanger. They boarded a Quinjet, where a pilot looked flustered.
"Hey, you guys aren't authorized to be in here," the pilot said, very scared of the 4 heroes in front of him.
"Son don't," Steve told him sternly. Kagome escorted the pilot off the jet but was busy thinking of Steve. He was quick to take the leader role in their little band of heroes, and she loved it.
Clint took the pilot's seat, and Natalie took a shotgun. Steve took a seat, with Kagome beside him. He put his arm around her shoulders, just needing to know she was there. They flew towards Stark Tower.
Meanwhile….
"Sir, I have turned off the Arc reactor, but the device is already self-sustaining," JARVIS informed Tony as he flew back to his building.
"Shut it down ," Tony said, flying to the top of his building. Where Dr. Salvig was working on the portal.
"It's too late," he called Tony. "She can't stop now. She wants to show us something! A new Universe," Dr. Salvig said in a raptured tone.
"Okay," Tony said, firing a blast from his hands. The shield of the Tesseract bounced back and blasted Dr. Salvig, and Tony back.
"The barrier is pure energy. It's unbreachable," JARVIS informed him.
"Yeah, I got that, " he said sarcastically. "Plan B," he said looking down at Loki on his platform.
"Sir, The Mark 7 is not ready for deployment," JARVIS tried to warn him. As Tony landed on his platform that removed his armor. Tony was too pissed off to care. This man has killed a good man and plans to force his little Princess into marriage. No one, he shall repeat, NO ONE threatens his little Princess.
"Then skip the spinning rims. We're on the clock," he ordered annoyed, and a hard tone. When his helmet was removed. He glared at Loki as he entered his home. Tony was walking to his bar.
"Please tell me you're going to appeal to my humanity," Loki said snidely.
"I am planning to threaten you," Tony said snidely, moving to pour himself a drink. He grabbed the bracelet and locked it on his wrist.
"You should have left your armor on for that," Loki smiled laughing a bit. He can't believe this man is the father of his future queen.
"Yeah," Tony shrugged. "It seems a bit mileage when you have the glow stick of destiny," he said gesturing to Loki's hand. "Would you like a drink?" Tony asked curiously.
"Stalling me won't change anything," Loki said amused. Going over to a framed photo of Kagome, he picked it up. He was imagining her in Asgardian wedding garb and dressed as a queen, similar to his mother. Tony's eyes darkened more when he looked at his daughter.
"No, no, threatening," Tony said snidely. "No drink? Are you sure?" He asked. "I'm having one," he said, knocking one back.
"The Chitauri are coming, and the Shikon Miko will be my Queen. Nothing will change that," Loki said, putting the photo down. He turned back around and went to the window looking over the city. "What do I have to fear?" He asked confidently.
"The Avengers," Tony said bluntly, pouring another drink. "That's what we call ourselves. We are sort of a team. "Earth's mightiest heroes" - type thing," Tony explained.
"Yes, I've met them," he said snidely and sarcastically.
"Yeah," he said looking down. " it takes a while to get some traction," he smiled thinking of his daughter. "I'll give you that one. But let's do a headcount, here," he said snidely. "Your brother, the demigod, a super soldier, a living legend, that lives up to the legend, my daughter, an exceptional Miko and Warrior, " Tony listed, seeing Loki smirk a bit at him. "A man with breathtaking anger issues, a couple of master assistants, and you, big fella, you've royally pissed off every single one of them," he told him.
"That was the plan," he smiled and laughed a bit.
"Not a great plan," Tony stated bluntly. "When they come, they will. They'll come for you," he said darkly.
"I have an army," Loki stated. "That will surely win your daughter's attention and heart," he smirked evilly.
"We have a Hulk, and as for Kagome," Tony stated angrily. He dared to imply his daughter would be impressed by his alien army that she would throw herself to his feet. "You know nothing about her because she is her mother's daughter. Her mother was never impressed by my wealth and power. From what she told me my daughter inherited that trait, as well my temper," Tony smirked. He knew his daughter above all the Avengers was royally pissed off by this guy.
"I thought the beast had wandered off, and she will submit to me. Her kind always does," he smirked.
"You're missing the point. There is no throne. There is no version of where you come on top and get my daughter. Maybe your army comes, and maybe it's too much for us, but it's all on you. As for Kagome, happily and irritatedly, inherited my stubbornness and temper, and she is ROYALLY pissed off," Tony stated darkly. "But it's all on you because if we can't protect the Earth, we will be damn well sure to avenge it," he said darkly.
"How will your friends and daughter have time for me, when they are so busy fighting you," Loki said, sticking his staff on his chest, right where the arc was. Tony mentally sighed when it didn't work. His daughter was right on the money, because of the arc his power won't work on him.
"This usually works," Loki said confused.
"Well-performing issues, it is not uncommon. One out of five," Tony said jokingly, snidely, and sarcastically. Then Loki grabbed him by the throat and threw him to the ground. "JARVIS, anytime now," he coughed out.
"You will fall before me," he growled, lifting him into the air by his throat.
"Deploy," he called breathlessly and choking. "Deploy!" he yelled, panicking. When Loki threw him through the window. The iron suite he had been working on flew down. It suited him up before he hit the floor. He flew up and made a level to Loki.
"And there is one more person you pissed off," Tony said in an enraged tone. "His name was Phil," he stated, blasting Loki back with his blaster.
Then an enlarged portal and aliens came flying through. "Right," he said shocked. "Army," he started flying up to counter them. Then a quinjet came flying in and shooting.
"Stark, we are on your third, headed northeast," Natasha said to him through his comlink.
"What? Did you stop for a drive-thru?" He asked sarcastically. "Swing up Park, I am going to lay them out for you," Tony said flying away. They did that and saw Tony fly by with aliens following. They followed and shot them up.
"Sir we have more incoming," JARVIS said, detecting more coming.
"Fine, let's keep them busy," Tony said, firing at them.
With Kagome and the others. They flew by Stark Tower.
"Nat," Clint called spotting Loki.
"I see him," Natalie said. They began firing at Loki, as he threw Thor to the ground. He used his scepter to blast the Quinjet. Thor saw this and tackled Loki hoping to protect them.
In the jet, they were on fire and going to crash. Natasha and Clint were trying to steady the jet. Steve was holding Kagome to his chest, while Kagome focused. She threw up a sphere shield around them as they crashed.
"Everyone ok?" Kagome called strapping on her bow.
"Yeah," she got a chorused response. They ran off the jet to the chaotic streets.
"We've got to get back up there," Steve yelled. They looked up as giant alien spaceships that looked like an eel flying down it was carrying more soldiers attacking civilians.
"Stark, are you seeing this?" Steve asked, shocked.
"Seeing still working on believing," Tony said dazedly.
"Eh, this is normal for me," Kagome said nonchalantly. Tony gaped at his daughter's answer. "Dad are you still there?" Kagome asked cheekily.
"Yeah," he shook himself out of it. "Where's the Banner? Has he showed up yet?" Tony asked curiously.
"Banner?" Steve asked confused looking to Kagome. She just shrugged in confusion as well.
"Just keep me posted," Tony told them. "JARVIS find me a soft spot," Tony ordered his AI.
Kagome looked to Steve, and shrugged, schooling her features to an emotionless mask.
"Let's get to work," Kagome ordered running off. The others followed suit, as they assessed the situation. Kagome jumped and roundhouse kicked an alien in the face. Steve stared in shock at her.
Kagome then jumped in the air, before setting off her powers disintegrating the aliens. She landed delicately onto the ground. "We've got people trapped in those buildings," she told them while stabbing one of the aliens in the gut. Steve nodded taking out one of the aliens. They then ducked as a series of blasts narrowly missed them.
"Loki," Steve stated, watching him fly away. Kagome looked and glared at the retreating figure. "There are fish in a barrel down there," he told them
"We've got this. It's good, you two go" Natasha told them both.
"Do you think you can hold them off?" Kagome asked.
"My lady, it would be my genuine pleasure," Clint said with a certain look in his eyes.
They nodded, before making a run for it. Kagome observed his strength and fighting skill. She was so far impressed by his skills. Not to mention seeing him as this turned her on, something fierce.
Meanwhile, Steve was watching her, as she took down a flying alien. She was strong and graceful. He couldn't help but check her out. She was extremely attractive when fighting like this. They soon made it to the police.
"You need men in these buildings," Steve told them, pointing to a few buildings. Kagome smiled at him taking leadership in this situation. "There are people inside and they're going to be running right into the line of fire. You take them to the basement, or through the subway. You keep them off the streets. I need a perimeter as far back as 39th," Steve instructed them.
"Why the hell should I take orders from you?" One of the policemen asked. Then Kagome and Steve took out some attacking Aliens.
"Because we can kick these things asses," Kagome stated coldly.
This convinced them to listen to the orders.
Meanwhile with Tony…
Tony just blasted the giant eel looking alien.
"Well, we got its attention. What the hell was step 2?" Tony asked flying away from the thing, as it chased him.
Back with the others…
Kagome jumped in between Clint and an alien about to kill him; she sliced and diced him into threads.
"Thanks," He breathed out, taking her offered hand.
"No prob," she smiled pulling him up. Thor then landed, looking worse for wear. Kagome came over to heal him a bit.
"What's the story upstairs?" Steve asked, coming over to them.
"The power surrounding the cube is impenetrable," Thor explained nodding to Kagome in Thanks.
"Nothing is impenetrable, there has got to be a weakness," Kagome spoke in thought.
"Thor is right, we got to deal with these guys," Tony called over the earpiece.
"How do we do this? As a team?" Natasha asked them standing by Kagome. Who began to heal her head injury.
"I have unfinished business with Loki," Thor said in anger.
"Yeah? Well get in line," Clint said examining his arrows.
"Enough," Kagome ordered them. "We all want to get a piece of him. But now we need to focus on these things before we go for Loki. If we take him out first these things will run wild," Kagome said in a hard time making eye contact with everyone in the team.
"She's right," Steve agreed, taking her hand. "Now Loki is going to focus the fight onto us," Steve said, taking charge. "We got stark up top. He's going to need us…" Steve began to explain, but was cut off by a horn.
They all looked in shock as Banner approached in a moped. Kagome smiled at him, happy he was ok.
"So all of this seems horrible," Bruce said, trying to sound casual.
"I've seen worse," Natasha stated bluntly.
"Sorry," Bruce shrugged, apologizing.
"No, we could use a little worse," Natasha said, a bit happy.
"Dad, we got him," Kagome called over her earpiece.
"Banner?" Tony asked happily.
"No the Orlando Blue," Kagome stated sarcastically.
"Then tell him to suit up. I'm bringing the party to you," Tony said over the ear price. Then he appeared with the giant eel alien thing behind him.
"That doesn't look like a party, " Natasha said with concern and confusion.
"Speak for yourself, it looks like a lot of fun," Kagome smiled at her old friend. Natasha merely shook her head, smirking in glee with her.
" ," Steve called to Bruce. Bruce looked back at him curiously, but yet seemed annoyed. "Now might be a really good time for you to get angry," Steve said earnestly.
"That's my secret, Cap," Bruce called behind him. "I'm always angry," he called before morphing into the hulk and slamming the deals thing head into the ground. Tony then began to fire on the tail in the air. While Kagome sent an arrow into its middle, completely disintegrating it. This caused the chair screeching at them. Hulk then began roaring right back, while the other form a circle facing different directions.
"Guys," Natasha called seeing as more aliens come through the portal.
"Hm, I thought this force was a bit small," Kagome stated blindly firing an arrow at a chitari turning it to ash.
"Call it captain," Tony said starring at the oncoming force.
"Alright, listen up," Steve said turning to face his team. "Until we close that portal, our priority is containment," he ordered them.
"Barton, I want you on that roof. Kagome, I want you on that one over there," he orders the two archers. They each glanced at their assigned positions. "I want your eyes on everything. Call out patterns and strays," he told them both. They nodded in agreement with Steve's orders. "Stark you got perimeter. Anything gets 3 blocks out, turn it around or turn it to ash," he ordered Tony.
"Can you give us a lift?" Clint asked tony.
"Right," Tony nodded as he walked over to them. Kagome and Clint wrapped his arm around their waists. "You better clench up Legolas, you too princess," he said taking off with them. He dropped Kagome off first. "Be careful," he told her with a pointed look.
"Always am, and you don't do anything reckless," she stated as he took off. She began firing at the flyers. Calling out any parties and stragglers. She then saw her dad fly by with a bunch of the aliens on his tail.
"Hey dad, you got a lot a bunch of fans after you," she stayed shooting a Chiari down.
"Just keeping them off the streets honey," he stated avoiding the blasts sent at him.
"Well they can't bank worth a damn," Clint said over the com.
"I noticed that too. Look for a tight corner dad," she called shooting down 9ne if the chitauri was chasing her dad.
"I will roger that," he said. He did as they said destroying his pertinent followers. "Nice call you two. What else you got?" He asked them.
"Thor's taking on a squadron down on sixth," Clint stayed over the com.
"And he didn't invite me," Tony stayed sounding hurt. Kagome giggled at her father's antics.
She then noticed a bunch of Chiari coming up the side of the building.
"Guys, I need to move. Some unwanted visitors are climbing the tower," she said furring a spiritual arrow at them.
"I see them, and a squad is about to turn your way," Clint said, seeing her spot about to be overrun.
"How many?" She asked curiously.
"20 flyers," he said, seeing the upcoming force.
"That's all? I am hurt," she gained sounding hurt. "Anyone a block of me, close your eyes," she said over the com.
"What are you doing?" Steve asked staring up the building at her.
"Oh shining some light on the subject," she smirked.
"You guys better do as she says," Natasha called over the com, closing her eyes. Kagome released a burst of purifying energy destroying all surrounding enemies.
"Holy shit," Tony yelled out in shock. When the light dimmed. Kagome jumped onto one of the flying machines and began piloting.
"Hey Nat, wanna lift?" She asked curiously.
"Sure," Nat called, smirking to the captain.
"Give a girl a boost?" Natasha asked with a smirk. Steve got his shield ready looking up at the oncoming ship.
"Are you sure about this?" He asked.
"Oh yeah," Kagome called slightly out of breath.
"Yeah it will be fine, "the black widow said before sprinting at Steve. She used his shield as a springboard and caught onto the ship Kagome was on.
"You drive, I shoot?" Kagome asked curiously.
"Is anyone going to comment on my little girl taking out like 30 of these things?"Tony asked excitedly and shocked.
"She took out more like 50," Clint chuckled. "Kagome have I mentioned I love working with you," he smiled.
"Yeah well that was a one-time thing, or at least for the next 6 hours," she breathed chuckling shooting down some of them.
"Got it, well thank you for taking out so many," Steve said gratefully.
"Why to thank you kindly, sir," she flirted over the com.
"Any time my lady," he flirted right back.
"Captain, you do realize I can hear you, and she is still my daughter," Tony stated aggravated.
"Dad, read the room," Kagome stated. Then she yelled out in surprise at nearly being blasted.
"Oh great you," Natasha said, annoyed seeing Loki behind them.
"Can't he take a hint," Kagome asked, ducking from a grappling hook headed her way.
"Hawkeye," Natasha called.
"Nat, Kags, what are you doing?" Clint asked confused and concerned.
"Help," they said in sync. Kagome was then grabbed around the waist by a grapple.
"Oh Kami," she cursed as she was yanked.
"Kags," Nat yelled as Loki's ship exploded. Kagome began to free fall. Tony flew in and caught her before she hit the ground.
"Nice of you to drop in," Tony chuckled.
"Thanks for picking me up," she chuckled as they touched the ground.
"Always," he smiled before taking off again.
"Hey, Barton got something for me?" She asked curiously.
"Yup Thor and Cap are being surrounded on 6th," he said over the com.
"On my way," she beamed pulling out her sword and bolting towards the battle. Kagome came as Steve was hit and knocked to the ground. She sliced and diced the Chitari going in for the kill. The two males looked up surprised, but happy. "Miss me?" She asked, smirking.
"Always," Steve shot back, smirking as Thor helped him up.
"Are you ready for another bout?" Thor asked.
"Here," Kagome said, her hand glowing. She placed it on his wound, healing it
"What are you getting sleepy about?" Steve teased jokingly. He sighed into Kagome's touché and power. "Thank you doll," he sighed, staring deeply into Kagome's eyes.
"Can anybody copy? I can close the portal," Natasha said over the coms. Kagome looked up beaming with a smile on her face.
"Do it,' she said happily.
"No wait," Tony called alarmed.
"What?" Kagome asked, confused.
"Stark, these things are still coming," Steve called confused and alarmed.
"I got a nuke coming in," he called over the coms alarmed.
"They fired a nuke?!" Kagome yelled out, enraged, and alarmed.
"It's going to blast in less than a minute, and I know where to put it" Tony continued.
"Dad don't," Kagome whispered desperately.
"Stark, you know that is a one-way trip?" Steve asked gravely.
"I know, take care of my princess," he said to him. Kagome was bawling her eyes out. "I love you Kagome," Tony said to her directly.
"I love you too daddy," she cried as Steve pulled her to his chest. They watched as Tony went through the portal with the Nuke. Kagome watched praying to every Kami she knew to save her dad.
"Your call," Steve whispered in her ear. Kagome was her dad's aura falling towards them.
Right when he began to pass through the portal, "Close it." The portal closed and saw Tony falling onwards them.
"Son of a gun," Steve whispered happily.
"He's not slowing down," Thor said, beginning to twirl his hammer. But the Hulk jumped in catching Tony and bringing him safely to the ground. Kagome ran over and kneeled her father. She began to heal him with her powers. Tony awoke when Hulk roared rather loudly. Kagome sobbed happily as her dad gasped for air.
"What the hell?" Tony gasped out in surprise, looking at the people surrounding him. "What just happened? Please tell me no one kissed me," he gasped out in confusion. Kagome merely laughed at her father's antics.
"No one kissed you, dad," Kagome whispered happy tears flowing from her eyes.
"We won," Steve sighed, wrapping an arm over Kagome's shoulders.
"Yeah," she smiled warmly at him. They looked deep into each other's eyes, and Kagome couldn't take it anymore. She pulled him for an earth-shattering kiss. Steve was shocked for a few seconds before he responded in kind.
"Hey, hey, that's my daughter you are sucking face with," Tony yelled out in outrage. Kagome giggled as she pulled back from Steve. Steve merely smirked down at her and held her close.
"You're an idiot, you know that," Kagome cried leaning away from Steve.
"I know," Tony sighed. "How about none of us come in tomorrow. Let's just take the day off," Tony said exhausted. Kagome giggled at his antics, still crying silently. "Have you ever tried Shawarma? I don't know what it is, but I want to try it," he said looking at everyone surrounding him.
"I think there is a Shawarma joint about two blocks from here," Kagome laughed pointing to her right. Steve and Tiny followed where she pointed.
"Yeah, you and I can go get some with Pepper," Tony smiled up to his daughter. Kagome merely closed her eyes, shaking her head. She took her hand and wiped away her tears.
"We are not done yet," Thor reminded them gasping.
"I know," Kagome sighed, helping Tony sit up. With the help of Steve moving to his other side.
"Ok, then Shawarma," Tony sighed.
"Alright," Kagome smiled nodding her head.
Up in Stark Tower, Loki was dragging his broken body out of the crater. Earlier the Hulk had slammed him against the ground and threw him around like a rag doll. When he was able to climb up the two steps, he turned his head. There stood all the Avengers, Clint pointing an arrow in his face. They each look equally pissed off.
"If it's all the same to you," Loki said through his pain sitting up a bit more. "I will take that drink now," he said looking at Tony.
A few days later…
"Well done," Sesshomaru said over the hologram. Kagome sat on the desk in the renovating Stark Tower.
"Thank you, brother," she bowed slightly to him.
"I have to ask. What do you think of these Avengers?" Sesshomaru asked coldly.
"Well, they are a rowdy bunch, undisciplined, and a mismatched group. They are all so different and have their ways to do things," she shrugged, holding her hand out to the side.
"You like them don't you?" he asked, smirking at her.
"Yes I do," she smiled, shaking her head. "It reminds me of the past," she sighed.
"Well then, all I have to ask is. What do you wish to do now?" he asked with a raised eyebrow.
"I wish to stay with them, but I will be working from our pack," she smiled.
"Very well then," he nodded in agreement. "Now, what of this Steve Rogers?" he asked in a disdained tone.
"Now Sesh," she smiled slyly at him. "He fits into all the conditions to court me," she smiled warmly. "Pus I deem him worthy," she said, sending a pointed look at him.
"Very well, but for him to mate you, he must be deemed worthy by me," he said strongly.
"Don't worry brother that won't be happening for a long while,"
She smiled as the elevator binged. Tony came out of the elevator with Pepper. Kagome turned her head to look at them. She was smiling widely at them, as Sesshomaru nodded in greeting.
"Stark, Potts," he said coldly towards them. "I will send SHippo over with your next assignment sister," he nodded to her. Then the hologram cut off.
"Another assignment?" Tony asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Yup," she smiled leaning on her hands.
"Never able to stay in one place for too long?" Pepper asked.
"Yeah, ever since I was 15. I can't sit still," she smiled over her shoulder. Then her face changed to a sad smile. "I think it's time I told you everything," she said with a sad smile. She hopped off the desk and went to the couch. Pepper followed and sat beside her. Tony grabbed a large glass of wine.
"Tony?" Pepper asked with a pointed look.
"I feel like, I am going to need this," he sighed sitting on the other side of Kagome.
"Yeah, I have to agree," Kagome smiled at her dad. She took a deep breath preparing herself. "It all started on my 15th birthday," she said looking out the window.
