A super short experimental story? Yeah, that doesn't sound like something I'd write. XD

Anyway, onwards!

How long has it been since she last saw him?

Christina was a pretty average girl. Average looks, average grades, average skills, you name something about her, and it was probably average and nothing else.

About the only thing about her that wasn't average was the fact she couldn't stop thinking about one boy.

A boy named Lincoln Loud, to be exact.

Before she left her previous school, she discovered he had a crush on her in the most… peculiar way, involving a video of him kissing a vampire bust with her picture on it.

It was weird, to say the least. So weird, in fact, her parents arranged for her to be transferred to another school ASAP.

That's not to say she wasn't perturbed by what she saw, she definitely was. But her parents always took things worse than she did, and well, here she was.

She hadn't seen the boy for months. She hadn't even heard of him. And that… made her a bit curious.

Was he still alive? Was he still seen in public? Is he doing okay? Has he gotten over the video thing?

Actually, scratch that last question: that was the kind of stuff that nobody would ever get over.

It's been half a decade since she was transferred, and still nothing. No news, no sightings, nothing.

It's like Lincoln had never existed… but he did exist. She knew it.

Alas, she couldn't really seek him without alerting her parents. They were… kinda overprotective like that.

So, she kept walking among the snow, waiting for the new year as it came closer and closer.

Maybe, sooner or later, the world would have their paths intersect with each other. Or they could keep a distance and never see each other again.

One thing was for sure, though. No matter how long she waited, she would keep these thoughts with her.

Always.
