Chapter 16
"Don't tell me your man swindled you. I sent you six short-range heat seekers and got a boat full of rusted parts. Now, you will make it right, or the next missile I send you will come much faster," Klaue said over the phone before hanging up on whoever was on the other end of the line. He then sighed in exhaustion and headed for another part of his underground hideout, when his phone rang again. "Now, minister, where were we?" Klaue answered with a somewhat cheerful tone, till the lights went completely out. This caused a commotion throughout the compound, while Klaue stayed calmly. The Maximoff twins entered the office Klaue was being held up in, with stone-cold looks on their faces. "Yeah. The enhanced. Strucker's prize pupils," he said stoically, they put him down and he went to his desk picking up a plate of candies. "Want candy? Oh, sorry to hear about Strucker. But then, he knew what kind of world he was helping create. Human life, not a growth market. You...you didn't know? Is this your first time intimidating someone? I'm afraid that I'm not that afraid," he scoffed. Kagome and Clint were in the rafters watching the pair below talk to the scumbag.
"Where is the tin can?" Clint asked, confused.
"I don't know," she whispered to him, watching the interaction of the twins and the criminal, Klaue closely.
"Everybody's afraid of something," Wanda said stiffly, while Kagome rolled her eyes.
"This girl has a lot to learn," she mentally sighed in defeat.
"Cuttlefish. Deep-sea fish. They make lights. Disco lights. Whom, whom, whom! To hypnotize their prey, then whom! I saw a documentary, it was terrifying," he stated putting the plate down, then Pietro ran forward and stole candy. Kagome shook her head at his childish behavior. "So if you're going to fiddle with my brain, and make me see a giant cuttlefish, then I know you don't do business, and I know you're not in charge, and I only deal with the man in charge," he said firmly, crossing his arms across his chest. The glass windows burst in, and Ultron flew into the room knocking over Ulysses Klaue, and now on top of him in a human position.
"Hm, dramatic much?" Clint scoffed quietly to her. Kagome smirked at him upon seeing the now reformed AI robot.
"Hm, definitely takes after dad," she teased, pulling an arrow out, and notching it on the string.
"Hm, I agree with that statement," Clint smirked following suit.
"I can hear you," Tony said over the com.
"That was the point," she stated coldly, still angry at him for this whole mess they were in.
"There is no 'man' in charge. Let's talk business. Upon this rock, I will build my church. Vibranium," Ultron began to say strongly, in his face. then Ulysses Klaue lead them to a vault with one of his men behind him, opening it and handed the robot the rock.
"You know, it came at great personal cost. It's worth billions," Ulysses Klaue said darkly, glaring at the junk scrap metal in front of him.
"Now, so are you. It's all under your dummy holdings? Finance is so weird. But I always say, 'Keep your friends rich and your enemies rich, and wait to find out which is which,'" Ultron recited. Kagome's eyes widened in shock, recognizing that quote; it was something her father had said before to her when she was young and visiting the company for the first time.
"Stark," Ulysses Klaue stated, confused, looking at the bot closer.
"What?" Ultron asked, confused, looking at him, tilting his head.
"Tony Stark used to say that...to me. You're one of his," Ulysses Klaue said in thought then became understanding of where this robot came from.
"What?! I'm not...!" Utron sputtered before grabbing Ulysses Klaue by the arm harshly, seeming angry. "I'm not. Do you think I'm one of Stark's puppets, his hollow men? I mean look at me, do I look like Iron Man? Stark is nothing," he roared slamming his hand on, chopping Ulysses's arm right off. Ulysses backed away in pain and fear toward the staircase. "I'm sorry. I am sor― Ooh, I'm sure that's going to be okay. I'm sorry, it's just I don't understand. Don't compare me with Stark!" Ultron snapped, kicking Ulysses in the face, sending him flying down the staircase. "It's a thing with me. Stark is…he's a sickness!" Ultron seethed angrily.
Then, Iron Man flew into the room in his suit, landing on the floor. Kagome hissed out and looked at Clint. He nodded his head to her unspoken question and landed delicately and noisily on the floor on her feet. Thor and Steve flanked them as they entered the room.
"Ahh, Junior," Tony scoffed, crossing his arms. "You're gonna break your old man's heart," he said cockily and sarcastically.
"If I have to," Ultron stated, facing them.
"Now now, boys, don't need to have a family squabble here," Kagome stated snidely, her arrow ready to fire at a moment's notice.
"We don't have to break anything," Thor said strongly, twirling his hammer around for a moment.
"You've never made an omelet," Ultron scoffed at the Asgardian in front of him.
"He beat me by one second," Tony cried out in annoyance.
"Dad, this is so not the time," Kagome stated glaring at the twins.
"Ah, this is funny, Mr. Stark. It's what, comfortable? Like old times?" Pietro asked Tony, a cocky glint in his eyes, which Kagome did not like in the least bit. Pietro, though, did look down at the missiles below them.
"This was never my life," Tony stated firmly, glaring at the boy.
"More like mine," Kagome hissed out. "So if you're going to snark, make it at the right Stark boy," she stated firmly.
"You two can still walk away from this," Steve said, trying to convince them to leave Ultron and come to their side of the fight. Kagome saw their aura, and felt sorry for them; they were blinded by vengeance and rage, and the only way to bring them back was to smack some sense into them or show them that Ultron was just using them.
"Oh, we will," Wanda said confidently, making her hands glow.
"I know you've suffered," Steve said firmly and sounding sympathetic, hoping to connect with them in some way.
"Ugh! Captain America! God's righteous man, pretending he could live without a war. I can't physically throw up in my mouth, but…" Ultron scoffed, sounding disgusted.
"Hey, leave him alone, " Kagome snapped at him. Ultron stared her down, and she glared darkly at him.
"Mhm…Miko, good daughter, loyal wife, but you have more secrets than most here," he said darkly, accessing her file.
"Hm, having a bit of trouble accessing my file in the Western Lands?" she smirked at him, and he made an irritated noise. "I knew you had access to Dad's files, and the internet, so I contacted Lord Sesshomaru, all the files and information have been disconnected from all servers and barriers around those servers," she smirked. "So sorry," she said sarcastically, smirking at the irritated Ultron.
"Hm, interesting," Ultron said in thought. "For you believe in peace but fight," he said firmly.
"If you believe in peace, then let us keep it," Thor said darkly to the bot.
"I think you're confusing peace with quiet," Ultron scoffed. "Now can I continue my conversation with my…sister?" he said in thought. "Yes, that seems right, since we were created from the same father," he nodded his head in his conclusion. Kagome smirked at the bot, feeling the tension grow in the atmosphere, a fight was about to break out between them soon.
"Yuh-huh. What's the Vibranium for?" Tony asked, looking at the fore-mentioned rock in Ultron's clutches.
"I'm glad you asked that, because I wanted to take this time to explain my evil plan―" Ultron said sarcastically, then lunged at Tony. Kagome fired an arrow carrying it deep into his shoulder. Tony dropped down to attack him as he fell to the ground. Then, she turned to the twins in front of her.
"Koi," she whispered. "Don't face off against Wanda, I'll take her," she said stiffly. Steve looked at her confused, but she shook her head at him.
"Why? I can do it," Thor smirked proudly. Kagome gave him an annoyed look and shook her head in defeat.
"Shoot them!" they heard Ulysses Klaue shout into a walkie-talkie. "All of them!" Kagome groaned as this fight got worse and more complicated. Kagome flipped back avoiding a hail of bullets, she then fired arrow after arrow into the men on the landing above them, in the shoulders, to incapacitate them. Then she bicycle kicked a drone coming at her from behind, going down to the level.
"Stay down, kid!" shouted Steve, as he knocked Pietro down onto his back. Wanda comes up behind him, waving her hand to mess with his mind. Then moved on to her next victim.
Kagome soon saw Wanda on the move. She followed the girl and found her using her powers on Thor.
"Thor!" she shouted, grabbing Wanda's wrist with a pure whip and yanking her back. "You good?" she asked. Wanda got up, preparing to run, but Kagome used a barrier to block her escape. She sent the girl a dark look, and Wanda returned the look.
"The girl tried to warp my mind. Take special care; I doubt a human could keep her at bay. Fortunately, I am mighty," he said proudly, then he froze looking to be in a daze. Kagome groaned again and focused on Wanda. She could feel Steve and Natasha's auras in disarray.
"So, you like to show people their greatest fears?" she asked as the girls began to circle each other.
"Yes, let's see yours," she said, her magic appearing on her fingers.
"Not happening," Kagome smirked as Wanda began throwing items at her with her magic. She easily dodged them and grabbed her hand, flipping her over. Wanda got a hand on her head and began to get frustrated. "What's wrong? Your little magic trick is not working?" Kagome asked stoically. "You're not the first, nor are you going to be the last person to try and take control over my mind," she said, picking her up by the collar. "Now, you and I are going to have a little girl chat," she said stiffly and in such a cold tone that it would have frozen anyone in fear. Wanda's eyes were wide in fear at the icy cold stare from the women; she could not envelop her mind.
Kagome then felt Pietro coming at her at inhuman speeds, and she threw up a barrier protecting herself, feeling Clint below her arrow pointed at the twins.
"Nice try boy, but didn't that trick not work in the woods on me?" she asked coldly, looking down at him. He looked up to her in shock, while Kagome tossed Wanda down next to him, and put up a barrier around them.
"Now you're going to listen, children," she said sternly, putting her hands on her hips.
"Why should we listen to a spawn of Stark?" Pietro demanded darkly.
"Well, considering this spawn has you trapped inside a barrier, and is thoroughly done with this entire situation that my father has caused..." she said coldly, causing the twins to huddle closer in fear at the cold tone of the woman before them, her blue eyes cold steel. "Now why are you two involved in this, volunteering for Strucker's experiment?" she asked firmly.
Natasha was in a haze in her memories of her training into a Black Widow.
"You'll break them," Natasha said in shock and concerned watching the ballet class before her.
"Only the breakable ones. You are made of marble. We'll celebrate after the graduation ceremony," said the woman she remembered as Madam B.
"What if I fail?" she asked sheepishly as she began getting tired to graduate from the training she was undergoing.
"You never fail," Madam B responded stoically, with a hint of pride.
Steve was in his haze and was searching for Kagome, trying to fight the hallucination. He finally succumbed to it and saw he was in the 1940s.
"Kagome!" he called out in a panic, looking around frantically.
"Kagome? Who is she?" he heard a familiar female voice say behind him. "Are you ready for our dance?" Peggy asked flirtatiously. He looked at her in shock, but accepted her hand and began dancing with her.
"The war's over, Steve. We can go home. Imagine it!" she said softly, beginning to lean on his chest. Steve shook his head pushing her away but still kept her at arm's length.
"This...this isn't right," he said, shaking his head. The dance room and stage were suddenly barren, and he looked around in shock.
"Steve!'' Kagome cried out to him. He turned around to see her in her wedding dress. It was a sweetheart neckline, with straps off the shoulders, that resembled flower petals. It had a corset bodice, the skirt flowed to the ground in delicate white silk. Her hair was pulled back by her mother's pure silver hair stick covered in engravings, at the end of which was a gorgeous tree with diamonds for branches that trickled down to sapphire leaves; there were about three of these, and at the base of her bun trailing behind her was a simple, yet gorgeous veil decorated with detailed lace depicted flowers and branches on its edges. A purely silver crown designed with swirls wrapped around her head and had a moon-crescent jewel in its center. She wore simple diamond earrings, and around her neck was a simple sapphire and diamond choker necklace that she had borrowed from Pepper. In her hands was a simple pink, soft orange and winter rose bouquet.
Steve now stood between the vision of Peggy as he left her all those years ago and Kagome in her wedding dress.
Kagome was staring at the children before her in shock. She now understood why they hated her father: he had created the weapon that had killed their parents and nearly killed them.
"Ok, I understand your pain and thirst," she sighed, pinching her nose. "But this...this is not what your parents would have wanted!" she yelled at them, causing them to stare back at her in shock.
"How would you know?" Wanda hissed at her. She charged at the barrier to break it but got thoroughly zapped by it, causing her to cry out in pain.
"Because I am a parent, too," she said stoically, with a sad look in her eyes. "I would not want my son to spend his life striving to kill the person or creature that took me from this world. I would want him happy and safe," she said stiffly, staring them down. Wanda cried now from both the pain in her heart and the zapping. Pietro looked down, seriously thinking about what she was saying. "This vengeance will only breed more pain and anger, causing a cycle to erupt from it," she continued strongly. "If you take my father, I would want vengeance or in my case justice, if I killed one of you, the other would come for me, then kill me. Then my son would come for you," she said strongly. "All that pain and death, for what? To kill the man that just manufactured the weapon, not the one that deployed it," she said strongly, staring them down. Then she heard a buzzing: a swarm of drones attacking her, and she lost focus on the shield, dropping it as she fought the drones.
"What can I do?" Pietro whispered to his sister, as the shield dropped, seeing her writhe in pain from the shock the shield gave her.
"Ah, it hurts!" she cried out in pain, hugging herself, as the pain seemed to burn something within her.
"I'm gonna kill her. I'll be right back," he hissed out staring at Kagome as she fought the drones, completely forgetting what Kagome had just said to him.
"No. I'm over it. I want...I want to finish the plan," she cried, grabbing his hand, then her eyes became malicious. "I want the big one," she whispered. He nodded in agreement, picking her up and running out of the compound.
"Miko, they are on the move," Clint said through their coms.
"Crap, ok, I am going to find Steve, you find Nat, their auras are in chaos. Wanda got to them both, I have no idea where Thor vanished to," she sighed looking around for the Asgardian.
"Copy that," he nodded, running down the metal grate walkway looking for his friend.
"Steve, where are you?" she whispered, turning the corners and following his aura.
"Natasha, I could use a lullaby," Tony called over the com, as Kagome found Steve collapsed on the ground. Still trapped in his vision, he was stuck between Peggy and Kagome, torn between his past and his future. Kagome ran over and kneeled beside him and allowed her hands to glow, trying to free him from the vision.
"Well, that's not gonna happen. Not for a while," Clint sighed in defeat, looking at Natasha. Then, he saw Thor a distance away in a similar position. "Natasha and Thor are down," he reported, sighing.
"Kagome?" Tony asked, concerned, as he flew to the city; Hulk was currently destroying things in a blind rage.
"I'm fine, Dad, but Steve is down, so the whole team is down, you got no back up here," Kagome sighed as she healed Steve of the magic Wanda performed on him.
"I'm calling in VERONICA," he called out over the coms. Kagome got up in shock as Steve began to stir from his vision.
"Dad, are you nuts? That's only for emergencies, and when I mean emergencies, I mean no hope and there are no options," she told him over the com, sitting on her knees. Steve looked at her dazed, before collapsing again. "Dang it steve," she hissed out using her power on him again.
"This is the last case, no option, Hail Mary situation," Tony called over the coms to her. "He is destroying the city," he told her. She looked horrified, Steve not listening to the com, just focused on Kagome's face taking in every single detail. "Alright everybody, stand down!" Tony called over the coms. Kagome was curious as to whom he was speaking but ignored it for the moment, staring into Steve's terrified and frantic eyes. "Are you listening?" asked Tony. "That little witch is messing with your mind. You're stronger than her, you're smarter than her, you're Bruce Banner," Tony cheered over the coms. Kagome gasped in shock, as Steve continued to stare at her, his mind trying to focus on her and her alone. She continued to use her powers on him trying to dissolve her power from his mind.
"Dad, don't mention little Banner, or he'll―" she began to say till she heard a very loud roar over the coms.
"Right, right, right! Don't mention puny Banner," Tony said sheepishly over the coms, as Hulk threw a car at him. He ducked beneath the vehicle that had been aimed at his head. "Okay," Tony sighed, beginning to fight Hulk.
"Steve, we need to go, help dad," she whispered to Steve as he slowly regained his senses.
"Kagome, " Steve whispered, in awe staring into her soft blue eyes, that were full of love and worry.
"Steve," she smiled at him, then was hit over the head, knocking her to the side.
"Kagome!" Steve yelled out in worry and horror, as he glowed a reddish-orange, and was sent flying back.
"Sorry, but Ultron wants her," Pietro smirked, appearing with his sister.
Kagome was on the ground trying to fight the darkness beginning to surround the corners of her vision, as Pietro approached her. Her powers were weak from healing Steve of Wanda's mind manipulation, so it could not heal her fully. She reached over to her watch slowly and pressed a button. "You're up," she whispered into the watch weakly, loosening the strap. When she allowed the darkness to overcome her, Pietro picked her up bridal style, causing her watch to fall on the ground, with a loud clatter. Steve got up because Wanda had thrown him again this time over the railing, to the landing, to find them gone. He looked around frantically, a panic started overcoming him, as he looked around frantically. His eyes landed on her watch, the one she got for her birthday from Kouga. It was so she had better contact with her Youkai family, especially Shippo. He picked it up gingerly, then gripping it tight in his hand as sorrow and rage overcame him. His wife, the love of his life, was just taken by a pair of superhumans, working with a murderous AI Robot.
All the while Tony was fighting the Hulk through the city, destroying buildings, throwing vehicles at each other." In the back? Dick move, Banner, " Tony yelled as Hulk jumped on his back as he came back from being thrown at a building. He then punched him in the face sending him flying, and he saw his suited hand was messed up. " VERONICA, gimme a hand?" he asked with a touch worried at his hand's destruction and the hulk beginning to charge at him again. VERONICA sent down a new arm for him, just in time, for him to hit the hulk. Then he had him pinned and repeatedly punched in the face. "Go to sleep, go to sleep, go to sleep!" he chanted as he punched him in the face. Then Hulk grabbed his fist, which Tony sucked up into his armor, and locked him in there, as the Hulk fought to get free. Tony blasted up into the air with him, still having a hold of his fist. " Okay, pal, we're gonna get you out of town," he whispered as they flew towards the outskirts of town. Hulk was swinging around messing with Tony's thrusters and causing him to go into a building. "No, not that way, not that way! " he cried as they crashed into the building. "Come on, Bruce! You gotta work with me!" Tony cried out in frustration.
"Hey, Grandpa? You doing ok?" a deep voice called over the comms link
"Uh, no," he cried out, stopping an elevator that was blown out of the building filled with people. "Everybody out! Going to get ugly!" he cried to the people as they got out of the elevator. Then hit Hulk extremely hard in the face.
"Don't worry, backup is coming," the voice chuckled deeply over the coms.
"I'm sorry," Tony said, terrified by the dirty look the Hulk was giving him. Hulk then threw him into the building and fought with the Hulk mid-air.
"Need a hand Grandpa?" the male voice chuckled over the coms.
"Shippo?" Tony asked, confused, as they landed on the ground. There at the other end of the road was Natasha, walking slowly to the hulk.
"The sun is getting real low," she shushed quietly. The hulk stopped and stared at her, mesmerized by her. She held up her hand, and he did the same to her. Then she held it down so her palm faced the sky. The hulk placed his hand on top of hers, then she raised it to his wrist and ran her finger down it smoothly, to his palm. The hulk walked away, as he turned back to banner.
"Oh thank god," Tony sighed with relief. "Wait I thought Natasha was down," he said confused looking at Natasha.
"She is," Natasha double smiled, the glamour falling away in a puff of smoke, and there stood Shippo in his feudal era assembly. "Simple glamour and mimicking trick," he shrugged, as other youkai began helping people to safety working alongside the military and first responders. Tony stared at his grandson in shock before a wide grin spread across his face.
"I owe you, big-time kid," he said in shock and a wide grin on his face.
"Oh hell yeah you do," he said cockily. "Mom, Hulk has been tamed," he said over his com earpiece. There was not a response, which made him worry. "'Mom?" he asked again, more worried, there was still no response. Shippo looked at his watch in pure horror and worry, his mother always responded in some form or fashion, whether it be com links, her new watch, or a phone call. She always answers without fail. All the while Tony was looking at Bruce. Who was nacked looking around at the amount of destruction in horror? "Man, this is not good," he sighed, solemnly his eyes wide with panic.
"I know kid, I know," Tony sighed depressed and solemnly at the destruction around him. They waited for a few minutes, till the Quinjet landed. Steve was the first to get off the Quinjet, a worried, solemn look on his face. Shippo and Tony looked at him worriedly. Tony felt a lump in his throat, at the sight of that solemn look.
"Shippo, are you okay?'' Steve asked him stoically, as if he had no emotion, just going through the motions. Which in a way he was, he did not feel anything, he felt numb.
"Where's mom?" shippo demanded not bothering to answer the question. Steve looked down into his hands, offering him the watch his mother wore and used to communicate to him. Shippo took the watch with wide horrified eyes, holding it tightly into his hands.
"They took her," Steve whispered. "She had finished healing me from Wanda's magic, and they snuck up on her. Wanda threw me twice, one down the aisle, then over the railing. When I got back up, they were gone," he said solemnly, looking down. Shippo was crying all the while, like when he was a kit, and he was scared of the shadows in his room. He was crying because he was scared, he was scared for his mom, the woman that raised him, he loved more than anything, he was scared that they were going to take her from him. Tony fell to his knees in despair and an overwhelming feeling of guilt. His baby girl, his little princess, has been taken by the thing he made, to protect her. All he wanted was to protect everyone he loves, now his worst nightmare has come true. His daughter was now in the clutches of something he made, that is going to kill her when he deems the right moment.
"We are getting her back," Shippo hissed out as anger began to overcome the sorrow. "She can survive long enough till we get there, " he said passionately, trying to dry up his tears. "Mom is a survivor, we will find her and get her back," he finished gripping the watch tightly into his hands.
"You got that right Son, we are getting her back," Seve nodded his head, a hard look on his face. Tony though had no words, his mind flashing all the moments he had shared with his little girl.
"Daddy!" a phantom of Kagome's voice blew into his ear, as the tears began to flow.
"You got that damn straight," Tony said firmly, tears going down his cheeks. "No one messes with my little girl," he said firmly.
"She is my Mom/Wife," Shippo and Steve said in sync, giving him a pointed look. Steve though was seething with uncontrollable rage, he blamed Tony, for if he had not kept the information of him studying and experimenting on the Scepter. Then they wouldn't be in this mess, Kagome would be here safe and sound, not in Ultron's clutches.
Bruce all the while was being escorted onto the Quinjet by Natasha. The others soon followed onto the Quinjet, determined to save the woman all three held dear.
Kagome slowly woke up, her hands cuffed above her head, as they rode in some truck.
"Oh look sleeping beauty is awake, or is it snow white?" Ultron asked in thought, approaching her, before kneeling before her.
"Ultron," she hissed out. "Why did you kidnap me?" she demanded to know the reason for her capture.
"Because in a way you're my sister, and you are fascinating," he said in wonder. Kagome glared at him trying to break free from her restraints. "Sorry, sister, they won't break," Ultron chuckled in amusement at her struggles to get free.
"Why am I so fascinating?" she demanded after stopping her struggle.
"Well, when I used this little gadget on you," he smirked as an Iron Legion came forward carrying Loki's Scepter. She tried to move back away from it, knowing what it could do if it touches a person above their heart. "It didn't work," he said in confusion. "So I thought it was broken," he said standing up, beginning to pace in front of her. "So I tested on our driver here," he gestured to the oversize, middle-aged balding man, currently in the driver's seat. "Then I realize it's just you," he said in wonder. "All the information I have is….. Myth?" he wondered. "None true in fact," he shook his head. "So tell me more about you, the youkai, and the Shikon no Tama?" he asked, squaring to her level again.
"Why should I tell you anything,?" she asked, annoyedly glaring at the robot.
"If you don't I will take away what's growing inside you," he smirked, flaring his hand out towards her stomach. Kagome's face completely paled at what he was implying. "It's fascinating, that such a small thing will become a baby, then a child, and then a grown-up," he said in wonder. Kagome was panicking inwardly, for he was threatening the life of her unborn child, her and Steve's unborn child.
"What do you want to know first," she said in a grave tone, locking eyes with him. 'I hope you all can find me soon,' she prayed to the Kami's, someone would find and help her escape from this monstrous machine soon.
"The news is loving you guys. Nobody else is. There's been no official call for Banner's arrest, but it's in the air, and Kagome missing is all over the news, ``Hill called over the coms as they flew through the skies in the quiet. Steve had his locket out, showcasing a picture of him and Kagome on their wedding day. Shippo was on the phone, with a very livid Sesshomaru. At the moment the Lord of the West was going on about how he would dismantle that robot, piece by piece, most painfully and brutally possible. While ordering Youkai around him to start searching for her and Ultron medially.
"Stark Relief Foundation?" Tony asked solemnly, hoping to distract himself from his worry.
"Already on the scene. How's the team?" Hill asked firmly and concerned for them.
"Everyone's...we took a hit. We'll shake it off and save Kagome," Tony sighed in defeat looking around at the defeated-looking people in the Quinjet.
"Well for now I'd stay in stealth mode, and stay away from here," Hill suggested to them.
"So, run and hide? We have to go out there and find Kagome!" Tony snapped at Hill angrily, glaring at the speaker.
" Until we can find Ultron, I don't have a lot else to offer," Hill said sternly and worriedly. "Look I care about Kagome too, but we need to keep you all safe if we are going to have any chance of rescuing her," she snapped at him, making Tony just glare at the speaker even harder.
"Keep us posted," he growled, hanging up the phone by pushing a button. "Kagome," he whispered solemnly, looking at his feet. Then he looked to Clint, figuring he could take over and distract himself. "Hey, you wanna switch out?" he sighed seeing Clint pilot the Quinjet.
"No, I'm good. you're not in the right state of mind to pilot this. Besides, if you wanna get some kip, now's a good time, cause we're still a few hours out," he suggested to him, he looked at Shippo and Steve's exhausted and worried forms, with sympathy and empathy.
"A few hours from where?" Tony asked, confused looking at the pilot, as he glanced at Shippo and Steve, who looked how he felt.
"A safe house," Clint stated as he turned his attention back to the sky ahead of him.
