Chapter 17

The Quinjet soon landed before the small farm, with an old-time home, and a small red barn to the right of the country home. The avengers and Shippo exited the ship together, staring at the home in wonder.

"What is this place?" Thor asked in wonder and confusion at the quant place in longing and confusion.

"A safe house?" Tony asked confusedly, keeping an eye on Shippo in the corner of his eye. His daughter may be taken by megalomaniac Ai, but he would be damned if he lost his grandson too.

"Wait, is this?" Shippo asked in shock and wonder. His eyes looked around him in wonder t the quant house, barn, and wide-open space as far as the eye could see.

"Let's hope," Clint sighed as they entered the small home, the whole team looking in wonder, besides Natasha, "Honey, I'm home," he called entering the home deeper looking around for his gorgeous wife. Laura Barton walked into the living room from the kitchen, appearing to be very pregnant, wiping her hands of a cloth." Hi," Clint beamed in joy and love seeing his bride." Company," he pointed over his shoulder going over and kissing her lightly on the lips. "Sorry I didn't call ahead," he apologized smiling a crooked smile down to her.

"Hey," Laura beamed up at him, kissing him again softly on the lips.

" This is an agent of some kind," Tony whispered to Shippo and Thor, confused and flabbergasted by what he was seeing.

"If she is an agent, I am impressed by her skills and prosthetics," Shippo smirked at him. Steve all the while was watching the interaction, his eyes dull. It reminded him of Kagome, and his worry rocket once more. As his mind moved to a few days before all of this happened.

"So when we do have our little Kagome, what do you, ya know, do?" Steve asked curiously, laying in their bed, his hands behind his head, watching her sit in front of a vanity. Kagome was staring softly into the mirror as she gently brushed out her hair, humming a soft tune.

"Well if we have a little Steve," she smirked into the mirror at him, in a teasing tone. Steve chuckled deeply at her words, and familiar banter. "I don't know," she hummed in thought. "Maybe find a small home somewhere remote, in the woods or valley," she hummed in thought. "Not in a big city," she smiled softly.

"You do realize I am city born and bred," Steve smiled looking at her happily.

"Yeah, same here," Kagome rolled her eyes in exasperation, but a giant smile on her face. "But I also lived in the Feudal Era," she sighed wistfully. "A time when there were no major cities," she sighed happily in her memory. "Surrounded by nature," she closed her eyes, diving deeper into her memories. "It was nice, peaceful," she smiled softly.

"Till a Youkai tried to kill you," Steve smirked at her knowingly, remembering the stories he had heard from that period.

"Yeah, but the sentiment is still the same," Kagome laughed softly, smiling. Her sapphire eyes opened again, staring back at her reflection, resuming her brushing. "What about you city boy?" she asked teasingly, eyes sparkling mischievously. "What do you want to do when we have a child of our own?" She smiled softly. Steve hummed in thought, rolling his head back, so he could stare at the ceiling in thought.

"I guess all I want is you all to be safe and happy," he smiled softly to the ceiling, imagining their life as a family together. Kagome looks at him curiously over her shoulder, till she gets an idea.

Steve sighed softly deep in his daydreams of their future, or what he liked to be their future together. His revelry and dream were broken as the weight came down on him, making him gasp in shock and pain, eyes snapping open. He came to a laughing Kagome as she smiled at him. She had jumped atop him like a belly flop. Steve laughed merrily at her mischievous nature, not seeing all that often.

"Is that all?" she asked teasingly, looking down at him. Her smile was wide as she pushed a strand of hair behind her ear, only to have it fall out again. "Not even an inkling of desire in what our future looks like? Because if we don't have a plan, I just know dad will have us live here, for the rest of our lives," she teased him. Causing him to go pale at the idea of raising their children here in the Stark Tower, near Stark.

"Alright, how about this?" he smiled at her, wrapping his arms around her waist gently, holding her close. "We find a simple home surrounded by nature," he smiled up at her, as she closed her eyes to imagine the world he was painting for her with his words. "Somewhere quiet and safe," he smiled. Then flipped them, causing Kagome to squeak in surprise at the sudden change. "Where our children play in the garden their mother had planted in the backyard," he smiled down to her, hovering above her. She looked up at him happily, though her eyes were wide with shock at his bold behavior. "A mile or closer, we have a neighbor, that is far enough, they won't disturb us, " he smiled softly at her, placing his forehead to hers. She smiled warmly cupping his cheeks with her hands, closing her eyes. "But close enough to go in case of emergencies," he sighed softly. "A giant tree in the front yard, where a treehouse I built will sit for our little princess, her castle in the trees," he sighed dreamily, imaging a little girl in his fantasy and dream home with Kagome, running around the front yard, the spitting image of her mother. Kagome rolled her eyes at his mention of them having a little girl.

"Sounds perfect," she sighed softly, imagining something similar to him. "Though I am curious about something," she said softly, moving her hands to his shoulder.

Steve looked shocked, eyes wide as his wife flipped them over again, so she was on top of him once more, making him laugh quietly. "Why do you want a girl so bad?" she asked curiously, tilting her head. She placed her elbow on his chest, and her chin in her hand. "Don't get me wrong, I will be thrilled if we have a girl, but a boy is just as good," she smiled in thought.

"I agree," he smiled at her. Then flip them over once more, returning to their previous position. "But if we have a little girl, she will be every bit like her mother," he smiled at her. "Strong, smart, brave, kind," he began, making her roll her eyes at his compliments.

"You are all those things too," she pointed out, poking him on the chest. Then switching positions once again, so she was on top. "If we have a boy, he will be all those things as well," she smiled down to him. "A perfect blend of us," she sighed, imagining a little boy with her raven hair, but his daddy's eyes.

"I agree," he smiled, making them swap positions again. "Yet there is a very big difference in this dynamic," he smiled at her, as she smirked at him, rolling his eyes.

"What?" she asked with a raised eyebrow, her hair forming a halo around her head.

"Besides the fact she will be as pretty as her mom," he began to say. Kagome looked at him curiously and pointed look, at where he was going with this. "Our daughter will be a daddy's little princess," he grinned down to her. Kagome's jaw dropped in shock at his words, before flipping them again so she was looking down at him.

"You want a girl, so she would be a Daddy's little girl?" she asked in shock as he beamed like a child, nodding his head eagerly. "That has got to be the silliest reason," she laughed softly shaking her head, making him look softly at her laughing face. "In that case our son will be a mama's boy?" she teased him lightly. Making him roll his eyes going to flip them again, but this time he rolled off the bed crashing into the floor below. The couple made a loud oof noise as they hit the ground hard. Before they began laughing uncontrollably at the events that just transpired.

"Gentleman," Clint's voice broke through his memory, bringing him back to the present. "This is Laura," he smiled, gesturing to his wife, smiling softly.

"I know all your names," Laura smiled brightly at them, making them all awkward at her words. They all had no clue about her existence, so they were at a loss of what to do.

" Ooh, incoming," Clint smiled as he heard the pounding of feet moving quickly at them. Till finally a girl and boy came bursting into the room past, or through the avengers, target being Clint.

"Dad!" the girl cheered happily running into his arms, as he picked her up in a hug.

"Hi, sweetheart!" Clint cheered in joy, kissing the top of her head, before putting her down. Then ruffling his son's hair gently, a loving smile on his face as he looked down at his children. "Hey, buddy! How are you guys doing?" he asked cheerfully to the pair happily.

"These are...smaller agents," Tony whispered in shock to his grandson, who also looked as shocked as the other males in the room.

"Look at your face! Oh, my goodness!" Clint laughed looking at his son's face closely.

"Did you bring Auntie Nat?" the girl asked excitedly looking up at him happily, her eyes shining in hope of seeing her favorite aunt. The men stepped to the side allowing the children to fully see the deadly woman, who had a fond loving smile on her face.

"Why don't you hug her and find out?" she said teasingly, smiling at the little girl. Who gasped and cheered in joy seeing the red-haired woman, running to her, allowing the woman to pick up the little girl in joy and greeting.

"Sorry for barging in on you," Steve apologized to Laura as the boy joined his sister in greeting Natasha. He smiled fondly at the children, but his eyes were still dull. Shippo now was with the boy, chatting with him quietly.

"Yeah, we would have called ahead, but we were busy having no idea that you existed," Tony said, shocked and a bit flabbergasted. Steve cut him a dark look at his rude comment, and in general for recent events. Laura looked between the males feeling the tension in the air between the males.

"Yeah, well Fury helped me set this up when I joined. He kept it off SHIELD's files, I'd like to keep it that way. I figure it's a good place to lay low," Clint explained, wrapping his arms around his wife's shoulders, along with his eldest and boy's. He also sent Steve a sympathetic look, feeling terrible for him, and what he was going through. He couldn't even imagine how much worry, fear, anger, and maddening imagination of what could be happening if his wife was taken by a murderous Ai robot. Natasha then came forward and pulled the pregnant woman into her arms securely.

"Honey," Laura smiled, hugging Natasha securely. "Ah, I missed you," she smiled, maneuvering to hug the woman properly. Natasha smiled brightly, pulling back from the woman, then placing her hand on her swollen stomach.

"How's little Natasha, huh?" Natasha asked fondly looking at the pregnant woman with affection in her eyes. Thor accidentally stepped on some LEGOs, crushing them. Steve looked down curiously seeing the crushed LEGOs and helped him kick them away under the table.

"She's...Nathaniel," she answered sheepishly, announcing the baby's true gender was a boy. Natasha looked surprised by her announcement, before bending down to speak to the unborn child growing inside the woman.

"Traitor," she whispered to the babe. Making the pregnant woman laugh softly at her reaction to the baby being a boy.

"Nat, what is?" she gestured to Steve and Tony, that seemed to be sending glares at each other, and when they weren't glaring at each other. They were fussing a little over Shippo or hovering. Then they looked solemn, worried, angered, and scared, all those emotions on their face.

"It's Kagome," Natasha whispered to the woman. Laura knew Kagome since she was there when she needed her the most. "She was kidnapped," she whispered, as the woman's eyes were wide with shock and horror at her words.

"Is she?" she whispered worriedly.

"No, she's alive," Natasha reassured her softly. Laura nodded in agreement, looking to the men as Tony hovered close to Shippo, while Steve left the house to speak with the Asgardian.

"Thor," Steve called to him following him out of the farmhouse.

"I saw something in that dream. I need answers, I won't find them here," Thor stated to him in the middle of the front year, holding the hammer up. Then he twirled his hammer till it lifted him the air, to fly him away. Steve looked surprised and sternly where the Asgardian once stood.

"We can go home," Peggy's voice sung softly behind him toward the house. He whipped around in shock, seeing no one was standing there.

"Steve," Kagome's voice whispered gently behind him. He looked again to see no one there, his hope vanishing in a flash. He had hoped she had escaped and found her way back to them, back to him. He shook his head as the vision Wanda put in his mind flashed before his eyes. His eyes went to where he heard Kagome's voice, walking towards it. His determination hardened even more than before to save the woman he loved, his wife, his Kagome.

"See, you worried for nothing. Can't even feel the difference, can you?" Clint smiled, lifting his shirt in their bedroom, so she could see where his wound used to be.

"I can feel the difference, " she teased, smacking the spot. "Also Kagome healed it mostly, remember?" she smirked at him. Then stopped seeing the solemn worried look on his face at the mention of the fiery woman. Laura looked down solemnly, also worried and fearful for the woman. "If they're sleeping here, some of them are gonna have to double up," she said, picking up a blanket, changing the subject.

"Yeah, that's not gonna sell," Clint laughed out, going into the closet to change his shirt, having changed his pants already.

"What about Nat and Dr. Banner? How long has that been going on?" she asked curiously a knowing smile on her face, as she folded the blanket.

"Has what?" Clint asked, eyes wide and blinking at his wife's words.

"You are so cute," Laura laughed quietly as she made their bed.

"Nat and... and Banner?" Clint asked in shock at her as he came out of the closet.

"I'll explain when you're older, Hawkeye," she teased him, laughing softly.

"Oh. Okay," he scoffed, walking over to her smiling at her.

"It's bad, right?" she asked softly, her face shrouded with worry. "Nat seems shaken, and they took Kagome," she said worriedly looking into her husband's warm eyes.

"Ultron has these allies, these uh, kids, they're punks. They carry a big damn stick and Nat took a serious hit. They took Kagome when she was trying to help," he said softly, eyes closing, his mind providing a mental image of Kagome smiling brightly at them. "Someone's gonna have to teach 'em some manners, and bring her home," he said, determined going over to the desk by the window.

"And that someone be you," she said softly coming over to him." You know I support your Avenging, I couldn't be prouder. But I see those guys, those "Gods"..." she trailed off rubbing his shoulders as they watched Tony and Steve glare at each other, going to chop wood. Then their son talked with Shippo, who was smiling a small smile.

"You don't think they need me," he said softly as he watched the same scene as her.

"I think they do," she corrected in a serious tone. "Which is a lot scarier," she confessed softly, eyes filled with worry. "They're a mess," she sighed deeply.

"Yeah, I guess they're my mess," Clint sighed watching Steve and Tony snip at each other.

"You need to be sure that this team is a team and that they have your back," she insisted worriedly. This made him look up at her in surprise, before getting to his feet and facing his wife. "Things are changing for us. In a few months, you and I are gonna be outnumbered. I need- ...just be sure," she pleaded with him worriedly, close to tears.

"Yes, ma'am," Clint smiled, kissing her on the lips softly, then pulling her to him, kissing her forehead.

"I hope Kagome is ok," she whispered worriedly as they looked out the window again watching the scenery.

"Knowing her, she is trying to figure out how to escape," Clint smiled softly at the horizon, but just as worried.

Kagome was chained to the wall trying to pull herself free angrily. She sighed in anger and frustration at it not giving way.

"That's not going to work sister," Ultron sang to her in his radio-like voice. He found it amusing to watch her try desperately to get free from her chains. He had heard a good portion of her story, not all of it, and found it all fascinating. Her strength and weakness, victory and defeats, everything.

"Well sorry for not taking your word for it," she snapped at him angrily. "You should know by now, we humans are stubborn things," she stated glaring at the Ai. He scoffed a bit, sounding amused by her words. Till they heard someone opening the door to the room they were in.

Ultron had taken them to the U-Gin Genetic Research Lab and was waiting for Dr. Cho to arrive in her lab.

"Scream and your entire staff die," Ultron threatened darkly as Dr. Cho entered the room."I could've killed you, Helen, the night we met. I didn't," he reminded her firmly as Kagome glared at him darkly from her spot.

"Do you expect a thank you note?" she asked sarcastically glancing at Kagome worriedly as she backed away from the murderous AI.

"I expect you to know why," Ultron stated firmly approaching her.

"The Cradle," she quietly gasped in surprise but understanding his words.

"This is the next thing, Tony," Dr. Cho's voice came out of Ultron's speakers. "This...is the next me," he said in awe leaning on the cradle.

"The regeneration cradle prints tissue, it can't build a living body," she stated firmly, eyes wide with terror but defiance. Kagome had to give the woman props for standing her ground against Ultron, though she looks scared half to death.

"It can, you can. You lack the materials," he corrected her, approaching her, making her back up as an Iron legion came forward with Loki's Scepter. "You're a brilliant woman, Helen," he said stoically and gently. Kagome then saw Loki's Scepter approaching Dr. Cho and pulling on the chains more aggressively.

"Ultron don't," she called to him angrily, trying to stop what he was planning on dining to the doctor.

"But we all have room to improve," Ultron said in a smirking tone, turning his head to look at the enraged Kagome as Dr. Cho fell under the staff's influence.

"Hurry up guys," Kagome mentally preyed on her Husband, father, family, and team to come and save her.

Steve slammed the axe down on the log splitting it in half.

"Thor didn't say where he was going for answers?" Tony asked stoically, cutting some wood across from Steve.

"Sometimes my teammates don't tell me things. I was kind of hoping Thor would be the exception," Steve snapped back at him darkly, glancing to make sure Shippo was alright on the front porch, as he sniffed Kagome's watch. He knew the kitsune was trying to find comfort and quell his worries by taking in his mother's scent.

"Yeah, give him time. We don't know what the Maximoff kid showed him," Tony stated stoically, eyes narrowing on the log, but overall his usually full-of-life eyes were dull.

" "Earth's Mightiest Heroes." Pulled us apart like cotton candy," Steve began to say sarcastically, then snarled at the end, slamming his axe into the log.

"Seems like you walked away all right," Tony snarked, eyeing his son-in-law's calm exterior.

"Is that a problem?" Steve asked darkly, eyes narrowing on him threateningly.

"I don't trust a guy without a dark side. Call me old-fashioned," Tony shrugged, looking at Shippo as he got a call on his cell phone.

"Well let's just say you haven't seen it yet," Steve snarled, glaring at the log, imagining it was Ultron.

"You know Ultron is trying to tear us apart, right?" Tony asked pointedly, cutting the log in half.

"Well, I guess you'd know. Whether you tell us is a bit of a question," Steve snapped at him angrily, going to get another log.

"Banner and I were doing research," Tony said exasperated and defensively. Steve then ripped the log in half with his hands in anger. Shippo looked at him in attention, knowing his step-father's anger just reached its peak.

"That would affect the team," he snapped at him. "Effect Kagome," he snapped angrily, getting into his face.

"That would end the team. Isn't that the mission? Isn't that the "why" we fight, so we can end the fight, so we get to go home? Kagome would never need to fight anymore, she would be safe," Tony pointed out angrily.

"She is not safe now thanks to you," Steve snapped at him furiously. "Now she is in the clutches of Ultron, your creation," he continued to advance on Tony, making him back away in fear and shaken at Steve's pure unadulterated anger. "Every time someone tries to win a war before it starts, innocent people die. Every time," he continued darkly. Shippo came down from the porch rushing to the pair. "If he kills Kagome, it will be on you," Steve said firmly. "She'd be safe and sound here with us, if not for you," Steve snapped at him, as Shippo got between them.

"Dad, back down," Shippo pleaded, making him look at him. Steve's icy cold eyes softened looking at the kitsune he grew to care about. "Mom is going to be ok,' Shippo whispered. "She has been through a lot worse than this," he said gently. "Also the most stubborn woman in all of history," he said softly. Steve allowed a small smile to slip on his face, agreeing with his assessment. "But if we have any hope of saving her, you can't pummel gramps," he said looking at his grandfather in question. "Even though he deserves a good smack," he said pointedly. Tony was shocked by his words and hurt at his cold look.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Stark, uh, Clint said you wouldn't mind, but, our tractor, it doesn't seem to want to start at all. I thought maybe you might…" she trailed off nervously looking at the scene timidly.

"Yeah, I'll give her a kick," Tony sighed to the woman. He put down his axe and began heading towards the barn. "Don't take from my pile," he called annoyed, pointing to his pile of wood. Steve rolled his eyes angrily returning to his pile. Shippo took over his grandfather's pile and began chopping wood.

"Mama, would not be happy to know you two are fighting," Shippo said softly as he chopped wood.

"It's his fault she was taken," Steve said firmly, chopping another piece of wood. Shippo looked at him curiously before letting silence wash over them for a moment.

"He may have created Ultron by accident, but," Shippo said softly. "He is trying to make up for it," he said softly. Steve looked at him curiously, not sure where he was going with this. "Mom, she taught me when I was a kit. We should never hold one past mistake against them forever. Sure we can give them hell during the time it happened, but never hold it to them, especially if they are trying to make up for it," Shippo smiled softly in memory, his mind going back to his youth. They were sitting by the fire pit, surrounded by their pack, their family, asleep. Kagome held him close, as she smiled softly down to him.

"I don't understand," Steve said, confused, placing the axe down.

"I am not that good at being all wise and knowing," Shippo sighed tiredly. "I am a little, mischievous charming fox. Wise is not in the description," he whined childishly, making Steve even more confused, sweat dropping at his bizarre behavior. "OK, Mom said, "what matters is not the past, but what you do in the future," he quotes her. Steve's eyes widened in understanding suddenly. "That our past mistakes don't define us, but our actions here and now do," he finished strongly. "And the only way to save Mom and this world is by working together," he said stubbornly. "So work with Grandpa and stop fighting over whose fault it is that Mom was taken," he said, puffing out his cheeks angrily. Steve's eyes were wide in surprise by his little mood swing and outburst, then became a soft expression.

'He may not have been born from Kagome, but there is no doubt he is her son,' he thought, smiling softly at a mental image of Kagome having the same look on her face, when she was mad and frustrated with him, also pleading with him to do something. He reached over and patted Shippo's head gently, making him look at Steve confused. "You're right," he smiled warmly. "Your Mom would be upset seeing us argue like this," he sighed, smiling at him softly. "Let's work together and get your Mom back," he grinned a wide grin, making Shippo smile in determination nodding in agreement.

"Oh sorry, I cursed there," Shippo smirked at him teasingly. "I know you hate curse words," he chuckled at him. Steve groaned in annoyance, throwing his hands up in the air.

"How many people did Tony tell?" he asked exasperated. Shippo just began laughing at his poor extent.

Tony was in the barn looking over the tractor curiously, trying to access the damage. His mind goes back to a time so long ago.

"Daddy, like this?" Kagome at age 5 cheered trying to help him build her a toy motorized car.

"That's right," he smiled as he helped tighten a bolt.

Tony sighed at the memory as he looked at a wrench he found on the ground.

" Hello, Deere, tell me everything. What ails you?" he asked the tractor in thought, walking around it curiously. Another memory of his time with Kagome comes to mind.

"It's alright sweetie," he soothed a sobbing Kagome, who was 6 years old. She was holding her scraped knee, from falling off the swing set they were playing on in the park. "Tell me, what aisle's you, princess,?" he asked frantically a little bit, not sure how to make her feel better.

"I fell, and my knee hurts," she cried as she held her knee. Tony nodded and moved in front of her to look at the scraped-up knee. He signaled one of his bodyguards over and asked for a band aid. The guard gave him one, Tony nodded turning to his crying baby girl, and placed the bandaid on the booboo. Then gently kissed the bandaid, making the little girl slowly stop crying looking at him in confusion.

"There, daddy made it better," he smiled lovingly down to his little princess.

"Do me a favor. Try not to bring it to life," Fury's voice rang out pulling him out of his memories.

Tony groaned in frustration tossing the wrench to the side in annoyance.

" Ah, Mrs. Barton, you little minx," he chuckled at her, setting him up like this.." I get it, Maria Hill called you, right? Was she ever not working for you?" he demanded annoyed approaching the previous Director of S.H.I.E.L.D.

"Artificial intelligence. You never even hesitated," Fury continued approaching him, not answering the mad billionaire genius questions.

"Look, it's been a long day, like, Eugene O'Neill long, so how's about we skip to the part where you're useful?" Tony demanded in irritation, looking at the man across from him, eyes full of anger and worry.

"Look me in the eye and tell me you're going to shut him down," Nick said firmly glaring at the man known as Iron man pointedly.

"You're not the director of me," Tony pointed out definitely and angrily.

"I'm not the director of anybody. I'm just an old man, who cares very much about you," he said gently, sitting on a barrel looking at Tony, trying to convey his honesty.

"And I'm the man who killed the Avengers. I saw it! I didn't tell the team, how could I? I saw them all dead, Nick. I saw Kagome dead at my feet," he said pacing, voice completely broken. "I felt it," he said, his voice thick with emotion. His mind flashed to holding his baby girl's dead body in his arms, so cold and empty, as if the sun itself had died. "The whole world, too. It's because of me. I wasn't ready," he said in a panicked tone, shaking his head at the image that has been haunting him since he saw it. "I didn't do all I could. I didn't do enough, or I would have saved her," he whispered, voice broken.

"The Maximoff girl, she's working you, Stark. Playing on your fear," Fury pointed out to him as he watched the broken man, the broken father, pace frantically. Angered with his lack of ability to protect his team, his family, and his child.

"I wasn't tricked, I was shown," he snapped at him angrily and stubbornly. "It wasn't a nightmare, it was my legacy. The end of the path I started us on," he snapped at him gesturing to himself.

" You've come up with some pretty impressive inventions, Tony. War isn't one of them," Fury pointed out to him standing up, approaching the man, that once was the Playboy or that couldn't stay serious for longer than five minutes. Now he is an Avenger, a father, one that feels he has lost everything he holds dear, is the man he sees before him now.

"I watched my friends die! I watched my daughter die!" Tony snapped at him angrily. " You'd think that'd be as bad as it gets, right? Nope. Wasn't the worst part," Tony snapped at him angrily.

"The worst part is that you didn't," he said solemnly, hitting him with the truth. Tony looked at him shocked, his face betraying the inner turmoil clashing within himself. "Go gather the others, I have news from Kagome's Shadow's," he smirked at him. Tony's eyes widened before rushing out of the barn to gather the avengers and his grandson to hear the news.

"Ultron took you folks out of play to buy himself time," Fury notified them as they all sat around the barn, listening closely. "All of Kagome's Shadows all say he's building something. The amount of Vibranium he made off with, I don't think it's just one thing," he notified them stoically.

"Mom?" Shippo asked firmly, his emerald eyes shining with worry.

"She is alive and unharmed," Fury answered him, causing a collective sigh of relief from everyone.

"What about Ultron himself?" Steve asked firmly, crossing his arms across his chest. He knew wherever he was, Kagome would be nearby, and be able to save her.

"Ah, he's easy to track, he's everywhere," a voice said from the back of the barn. Everyone looked over to see Kouga, who looked identical to how he looked 500 years ago. Though now he was in a black spandex-like a painted, black bulletproof vest. "Guy's multiplying faster than a Catholic rabbit. Still doesn't help us get an angle on any of his plans though," he sighed in annoyance pacing around the space.

"Kouga?" Shippo asked, surprised at the Wolf Youkai's appearance.

"Hey kid," he smirked cockily at the boy he watched grow into a fine kitsune.

"Who?" Bruce asked, confused looking at the young man cautiously, and inching toward Natasha protectively.

"This is Kouga, the leader of the Wolf Yokai tribes," Shippo introduced relaxing in his spot atop the broken-down tractor. The entire Avenger's team looked up at him, surprised, besides Steve.

"He attended Kagome and my wedding," he supplied to the team.

"He's the one that was almost strangled to prevent him from objecting," Shippo smirked mischievously at the memory of Ayame, pretty much strangling him while holding him back. Everyone made an oh face remembering him now. "Why are you here anyway Kouga?" he asked with a raised eyebrow/

"Yeah, well I didn't want my woman marrying Captain whatever over there," Kouga scoffed a bit cockily pointing his thumb over his shoulder at Steve

"She's not your woman," Tony, Shippo, and Steve all snapped at him in sync. This caused Kouga to look at the trio in surprise, before smirking at them. Shippo mirrored the smirk, communicating something with their eyes.

"Why are you here Kouga?" Natasha asked curiously, looking at the wolf youkai curiously, never having met him in person before.

"Sesshomaru sent me to lead the Shadows to find our lost Miko," he stated firmly.

"Why not himself?" Steve asked, annoyed, glaring at him darkly.

"Because he is searching for her in his own special way," Kouga stated firmly. Shippo began shaking in fear at what he was implying.

"How bad?" Shippo asked, trembling in fear, looking at the man. He may be a fully grown, or close to fully grown Kitsune, but he was still scared of Sesshomaru when he got angered.

"Bad," Kouga sighed, rubbing his face with his hand. "Naraku anger bad," he pointed out, making Shippo pale considerably at the comparison.

"I take it that's bad," Clint pointed out glancing between the pair.

"Worse," Shippo trembled in fear, in a puff of smoke reverting to his kit size. Tony looked shocked at his grandson's reaction, going over to him. Shippo propelled himself into his arms, Tony catching him with ease.

"Explain ?" Steve asked firmly, pinning Kouga with a stern stare.

"Sesshomaru is a pretty cold, and murderous person by nature," Kouga sighed deeply. "It's been 500 years and he has mellowed out a little bit, but he is still the same. But he doesn't get too angry often," he pointed out firmly. "Annoyed, and a touch mad, sure, but rarely enraged," Kouga stated. "The last time was when we fought Naraku," he said firmly."He is known as killing Perfection for a reason," he said firmly.

"Sesshomaru is scary when mad," Shippo chimed, cuddling close to Tony, trembling.

At that moment Sesshomaru was melting one of the Iron Legions with his poison claws, eyes brilliant with red.

" And Ultron took Mom," Shippo said, trembling in fear.

"Beside's Rin, Mom is the most important person to him," Kouga said firmly, in a grave tone. "Ultron has awoken the Lord of the West's anger, and will meet a fate worse than death," he said firmly. Everyone glanced at each other concerned and worried about what this could entail. Steve was surprised by his words, confused about it as a whole. When they took down S.H.I.E.L.D, he thought Sesshomaru was being cowardly, hiding all the youkai and calling Kagome home. But now he was out there in person searching for Kagome, and eyeing to kill the AI that took her.

"Is Ultron still going after launch codes?" Tony asked firmly deep in thought, getting them back on topic.

"Yes, he is, but he's not making any headway," Fury stated this time, looking to the Iron man, as he comforted his scared grandson.

" I cracked the Pentagon's firewall in high school on a dare," Tonypointed out annoyed and perplexed at what was causing Ultron such issues.

"The squirt over there did it to prank some guy a few months ago," Kouga pointed his thumb at the small kitsune. Tony looked at him surprised at his grandson, who looked at him innocently.

"That's my boy," Tony smirked, proudly ruffling his hair affectionately.

"Encouraging questionable behavior aside," Fury said pointedly to the pair, his eyes narrowed on them. " I contacted our friends at the NEXUS about that," FFury notified them sternly

" NEXUS?" Steve asked, confused by the term, never having heard it before.

"It's the world internet hub in Oslo, every byte of data flows through there, fastest access on earth," Bruce notified firmly.

"Not the whole world," Kouga stated firmly. Fury glared at him at his snide comment and cocky behavior, he hated working with Kouga on anything.

"Elaborate," Steve stated firmly looking at him pointedly.

"The Western Lands are on a completely different server," Kouga sighed with exasperation. "I don't know much about it since I am not so "tech-savvy"," he quotes one of his younger pups.

"We use a hub similar to NEXUS, but a little more, since it is made to hold our information about our people," Shippo said softly, explaining it to them a little more.

"Does Ultron have access to that information now?" Natasha asked worriedly, slightly panicked, on what kind of devastation and world panic that could cause.

"No, Kagome reached us right before he could access us, we shut it all down," Kouga said firmly, crossing his arms. "My pups are mad at having lost the internet, but they will live," he sighed exasperatedly at his pup's angry vocal complaints.

"That's why Kagome is still alive," Bruce said in surprise, causing everyone to look at him confused. "He can't access anything on Kagome," he pointed out. Making them all look at him in shock at his statement. "Only thing out there on her is that she is an Avenger, Stark's daughter, and Steve's wife," Bruce pointed out to them.

"She never was put into the S.H.I/E.L.D software, except for her Avengers file," Fury said in thought.

"Even then that was not much," Tony snarked angrily, as Shippo sat in his arms.

"He can't learn everything about her, so he took her," Kouga said snarkily. "To get to know her better?" he snapped at them.

"He called her sister," Natasha pointed out firmly.

"Great, the psycho Ai robot, wants to learn about his family before he destroys it?" Kouga snarked at her.

"Yeah,'' Natasha said stoically.

"Now that we somewhat understand why Ultron is keeping Kagome alive. If we are going to save her before she runs out of stuff to tell him. We need to find them and figure out what he is planning," Clint stated firmly with a pointed look on his face. "So what'd they say?" Clint asked Fury curiously.

"He's fixated on the missiles, but the codes are constantly being changed," Fury answered his question firmly crossing his arms, getting back on topic from before.

"By whom?" Tony asked confused curiously.

"Parties unknown," Fury said firmly, annoyed at not knowing the answer.

"Do we have an ally?" Natasha asked curiously looking around the room.

"Ultron's got an enemy, that's not the same thing. Still, I'd pay folding money to know who it is," Fury said determined and in thought. Kouga rolled his eyes at his antics about this ally against Ultron.

"I might need to visit Oslo, find our "unknown"," Tony said pointedly as Shippo hopped down from his arms, and transformed back to his original form.

"I'll go with him," Shippo said firmly, crossing his arms deep in thought.

" Well, this is good times, boss, but I was kind of hoping when I saw you, you'd have more than that," Natasha said disappointedly at the lack of information.

"I do, I have you. Back in the day, I had eyes everywhere, ears everywhere else. Here we all are, back on earth, with nothing but our wit, and our will to save the world," he said pointedly.

"Ou recourses are focused on finding Kagome," Kouga sighed in defeat. "We just know for a fact is she is alive," he said firmly.

"So stand," Nick ordered the Avengers. "Outwit the platinum bastard," Fury said angrily, crossing his arms.

"Steve doesn't like that kind of talk," Natasha smiled mischievously at the Captain of America.

"You know what, Romanoff?" Steve snapped with a fond smile on his face.

"So what does he want?" Fury asked coldly to the room.

"To become better," Steve stated firmly, crossing his arms across his chest. "Better than us," he continued firmly.

"He keeps building bodies," Kouga sighed, annoyed. "Can't tell you how many discarded metal bodies we have been finding scattered about," he said firmly, crossing his arms.

"Person bodies," Tony said in thought and shock. "The human form is inefficient, biologically speaking, we're outmoded," he said in thought trying to puzzle out Ultron's thinking.

"But he keeps coming back to it," Shippo pointed out, having seen the picture of the thing in the Quinjet.

" When you two programmed him to protect the human race, you amazingly failed," Natasha pointed out, annoyed to Tony and Bruce.

"They don't need to be protected, they need to evolve," Bruce said in thought and a grave tone. "Ultron's going to evolve," he said firmly as he realized what Ultron was truly planning.

"How?" Fury asked, confused and feeling a pit at the base of his stomach.

"Has anyone been in contact with Helen Cho?" he asked the room with a firm look on his face.

"It's beautiful. The Vibranium atoms aren't just compatible with the tissue cells, they're binding them. And S.H.I.E.L.D never even thought-" Dr. Helen Cho said amazed watching the body Ultron wants, being created by her Cradle.

"The most versatile substance on the planet and they used it to make a Frisbee," he mocked as he watched his body being created.

"That frisbee, you so rudely put it," Kagome called from her place angrily. "Is a symbol of hope for millions," she stated glaring at Ultron, as he looked at her.

"Typical of humans, they scratch the surface and never think to look within," he said in a voice of disdain and wonder, going to Loki's Scepter. He then shattered the housing unit in the scepter with a laser. Now in his hand sat a small golden jewel. Kagome wanted to mentally scream in annoyance and anger. This all started because of a small jewel, again!

Ultron then took the jewel and placed it on the forehead of the body as it is being created.

"I'll take Natasha and Clint," Steve said firmly with a determined look in his eyes as they moved across the yard.

"Alright, strictly recon," Tony told him firmly." I'll hit the NEXUS with Shippo, we'll join you as soon as we can," he said firmly, wrapping his arm around his grandson's shoulders, as he nodded in agreement.

"If Ultron is building a body…" Steve said in thought and a grave tone.

"He'll be more powerful than any of us. Maybe all of us. An android designed by a robot," Tony said in a firm tone.

"Only person I can think of being equal to it is Sesshomaru, but then, he will need back up," Shippo said in thought.

"You know I miss the days when the weirdest thing science ever created was me," Steve sighed in defeat.

"I'll drop Banner off at the tower. Do you mind if I borrow Ms. Hill?" Fury began to state firmly, before asking Tony for his old second.

"She's all yours, apparently," Tony sighed in defeat, if not sarcastically on his way to the Quinjet.

"I am making a call," Kouga said firmly running away in a tornado or whirlwind,

"What are you gonna do?" Steve asked Fury curiously, though he was shocked at the speed Kouga just ran.

"I don't know," Fury shrugged nonchalantly as he walked away. "Something dramatic, I hope," he looked over his shoulder, making Steve shake his head at him. While he waited for his teammate to say goodbye to his wife. Not being able to help butworry for his wife, but he had hope that they were going to save her.

"A hacker who's faster than Ultron? " Tony said in thought as Shippo and himself walked through NEXUS.

"He could be anywhere," Shippo sighed in defeat as they were surrounded by workers. "

"And as this is the center of everything, I'm just a guy looking for a needle in the world's biggest haystack," Tony smirked at him as he went to a computer, and began to tipe away. Shippo smirked too while chuckling at some Techs. They were taking selfies of them with Tony in the background.

" How do you find it?" the Head World Hub Tech asked curiously.

"Pretty simple," Tony smirked at the screen.

"You bring a magnet," Shippo answered with a bright smile on his face, making a few of the Tech's swoon under his kitsune charm.

" Oh, I'm decrypting nuclear codes and you don't want me to," Tony began to playfully sing, not seeing his grandson charm the entire Tech team with them. " Come and get me," he finished singing, glancing at him. Then looked shocked as one of the female Techs latched onto Shippo'sarm, a flirtatious smile on her face. "Shippo, stop flirting and help," he called to him. Though he had a proud smile on his face, Shippo gave him an innocent smile. If you didn't know him, you would never guess how mischievous that smile truly was.

"Of course," Shippo smiled, making a few faint as they were overwhelmed by his charm. Tony chuckled at his antics and was so proud. Shippo came up and began helping him find the Hacker.

"Cellular cohesion will take a few hours, but we can initiate the consciousness stream," Dr. Cho said in thought, beginning to swipe on her computer, as Ultron hooked up to the system. "We're uploading your cerebral matrix...now," she said firmly as there was a beeping noise, and Ultron's form tensed up as his consciousness began transferring to the body.

Kagome looked on darkly, till she heard the twins enter the room. She then quietly wondered where they had been this entire time.

"I can read him," Wanda said, amazed approaching the body in the cradle. "He is dreaming," she said wistfully, staring down at the body softly, tilting her head.

"I wouldn't call it dreams," Dr. Cho corrected her softly, watching the monitor. ". It's Ultron's base consciousness, informational noise," she explained to her factually, making Kagome roll her eyes at her behavior. Even if she is under the influence of the scepter, she sounded like a cocky woman that puts too much stock in her actual intelligence level. "Soon…" she continued her explanation.

"How soon?" Ultron demanded rudely. " I'm not being pushy," Ultron said quickly changing his tone to apologetic.

"Sounds pushy," Kagome snarked, rolling her eyes at his antics.

"We're imprinting a physical brain," Dr. Heen explained factually to him, completely ignoring Kagome's comment. Ultron did look at her before the doctor started talking again. "There are no shortcuts. Even if your magic gem is…" she continued to explain. Kagome sighed, blocking it all out, still trying to figure out how to escape, without putting herself or her baby in danger. Suddenly Wanda screamed in horror. She looked over in time to see her back into her twin brother's arms, him holding her close to comfort her.

"How could you?" Wanda demanded angrily, glaring at him, eyes shining in betrayal and anger.

"How could I what?" Ultron asked, confused by her words and change in emotions.

"You said we would destroy the Avengers, make a better world," Wanda snapped at him, voice getting louder.

" It will be better," he said confused and proudly, watching the pair closely.

"When everyone is dead," she yelled at him in anger. Kagome's eyes widened in horror by her words, fully understanding the extent of how insane this AI truly was in his ideals of humanity.

"That is not- The human race will have every opportunity to improve," he stammered out, back-peddling on his words since he did not expect them to figure out his pans so soon.

"And if they don't?" Pietro demanded in a firm stoic tone, stepping up beside his sister, glaring at their old teammate.

"Ask Noah," Ultron answered without hesitation.

"Kagome was right," Wanda said in horror, backing away from the Ai, looking at said woman. Who had a cold stern look on her face staring at the AI. "I am sorry," she whispered close to tears. Kagome merely nodded her head to her, as a sign of forgiveness. "You're a madman," Wanda snapped at Ultron, looking at him again.

"There were more than a dozen extinction-level events before even the dinosaurs got theirs. When the Earth starts to settle, God throws a stone at it, and believe me, he's winding up. We have to evolve. There's no room for the weak," Ultron explained in a voice of devotion.

"Hello Nazi robot," Kagome snarked at him, making the Robot snap at her, making a noise of annoyance by her snarky comments.

"And who decides who's weak?" Pietro asked firmly, as Wanda moved toward Dr. Cho. Kagome noticed her movements and prayed Ultron would not notice her, not before she broke from the sculptor's influence.

"Life," Ultron stated firmly. "Life always decides.," he explained in a firm tone. Then he stopped, looking to the side as if realizing something. "There's incoming," he said firmly and annoyed.." The Quinjet," he growled out in annoyance. "We have to move," he ordered everyone around him, as one of the legions went to collect Kagome.

"That's not a problem," Dr. Cho said darkly, canceling the transfer quickly. .Ultron groaned in pain, aiming a blast at the woman. Kagome threw up a barrier wall to protect her. Dr. CHo only fell over a table from her jumping back to get away from the danger.

"RUN!" Kagome screamed to the twins, Wanda looked at her in fear, wanting to go help her. Pietro listened to her, and grabbed his sister, running away.

"No! We need to help," she argued with him as they ran.

"We will, but we need help," he called, running as fast as his legs would carry him.

"Ah, wait, guys! "Ultron yelled after them, then tried to blast the technicians. But again Kagome threw up a barrier protecting them, but they all fell to federal positions in fear. Kagome sighed at their reactions, but stayed focused on Ultron and his iron legion.."They'll understand. When they see they'll understand. I just need a little more time," Ultron said in a broken, determined tone.

"Need more time to do what? How are you going to make them see?" Kagome demanded angrily. Ultron walked over and grabbed her chain, ripping it from the wall, and pulling her close to his metal face.

"Evolution," he said, determined as Kagome glared at him darkly in defiance.
