Gio (Sees massive rack): Oh, that one! It seems to be the biggest one in the store so I'm taking it!
Deli Cashier: Oh, that's the most impressive one here. Yes, sir, I will get it ready and bundled for you! (Goes to do his job, happy to receive a order, the best order ever in the deli today. He has a feeling that his coworker is going to be bemoaning the fact that Moses' order is technically less popular than pork ribs that his own customer chose.)
Gio: Thanks. (Grabs it) Oh, and where the bakery?
Deli Cashier: On the other side of the store, on the corner opposite us.
Gio: Thanks! (Walks off)
(The scene cuts to Gio walking to the bakery counter, and exploring the various cakes available that were already made...)
Gio: Excuse me.
Baker cashier: Yes, sir?
Gio: I'll have a Supreme Chocolate Ganache cake!
Bakery Cashier: Excellent choice, sir. Hold on a minute as I put the cover on. (Pulls cake out of glass enclosure, and puts it on the counter, glancing momentarily before grabbing the cover, and putting it over cake, protecting it from moisture and stuff) There you go, sir!
Gio (grabs box): Thanks!
Bakery Cashier: Have a beautiful day, sir! (Waves)
Gio (walks off): Hmm...(grabs some premade dough balls) Good for making bread...(goes to produce area and buys some potatoes)
(Gio spends about a half hour in the grocery store, searching for the ingredients he has thought of.)
(The scene then cuts to Gio arriving back at the house with four bags of groceries including snack cakes for himself)
Jumba: (Reading science book on couch as he's taking a break from his work in the ship) Aloha, bigger boy. Good time shopping?
Gio: Yep! I managed to snag the largest rack of ribs in the store, and I got some potatoes to make homemade french fries. I also got a ton of spices to make a nice rib rub, and even got some sauces too.
Jumba: Wow, sounds like it being really super lunch.
Gio: Sure does!
Jumba: Do you wanting help? I can setting plates, and reaching high shelves in cabinets.
Gio: I'm more than capable.
Jumba: I not doubting that, bigger boy. It just being polite to ask.
Gio: Well, it seemed that way!
Jumba: Ah, I understanding. Ohana raised and teaching to be polite even if questions annoy people.
Gio: Oh...
Jumba: (Shrugs) Yeah.. I be back to book, it leaving me wanting more, but I knowing you be great. Just not hesitating if you needing help. Even skilled bigger boy like you, it can happening.
(The scene cuts to Gio finishing up with matching ribs with barbeque sauce, fries, and cheese-filled bread rolls, just as Nani, Lilo, Stitch, and Pleakley arrive back home..._
Pleakley: My, what is that enriching smell?
Nani: That's the pork ribs, and is that fries? (Sniffs the air momentarily) Yep, that is fries.
Stitch: Smelling cheese!
Lilo: Let's check it out! Come on!
Jumba: (Chuckles) I have not be in kitchen for past hour and half so I no know what bigger boy's food looking like. (Puts down book on table and gets up to join the others)
Gio (begins to set the table)
Nani: Oh, wow, that's the biggest rack of pork ribs I have ever seen in years!
Pleakley: And those fries, they smell quite appetizing!
Jumba: They looking incredible!
Stitch: Cheese in bread!
Lilo: What kind of barbecue sauce did you go with, Gio?
Gio: Sweet and smoky.
Nani: That's a great combination of sauce and meat, Gio! But how did you make the fries? I mean, we don't have a commercial fryer.
Gio (points to deep fryer): I bought you one!
Nani: (Blinks eyes in surprise) I didn't notice that! Wow, thanks, Gio. This will help out with meat, vegetables, even pastry as well.
Lilo: So, you used that fryer to make the bread too?
Gio: No...I bought some pre-made dough, stuffed some cheese inside, and baked them in the oven.
Lilo: Oh, cool.
Stitch: What kinda cheese?
Gio: Cheddar.
Stitch: Yummy!
Pleakley: Are we having milk to wash all this down while we eat?
Gio: Oh... I did better than milk...(opens freezer, and reveals 6 pre-made glasses with chocolate milkshake and whipped cream inside)
Lilo: Whoa! That's way better than plain milk!
Nani: Okay, I have to say it. You really did a great job with all of this, working hard! Let's enjoy what he made, guys!
Jumba: Agreeing with you, bigger girl. I starving!
Stitch: Ih!
Lilo: Come sit, Gio, you got to taste your work too!
Pleakley: I am anxious to see how all of this tastes.
Gio: And wait till you see dessert!
Lilo: Ooh, what is it, Gio?
Gio: A supreme chocolate ganache cake from the grocery store.
Nani: Oh, that's really rich and sweet! Don't say yes to Lilo or Stitch's puppy eyes. They only are entitled to a slice each, no more. I don't want them to have a sugar crash later on.
Gio: Yeah... that stuff about sugar crashes isn't real. You see, MythBusters confirmed that kids and adults eating too much sugar aren't going to get close to getting diabetes nor do they get a sugar crash right afterwards. I know you are being a good sister, but at the same time, you should really look up facts for today's time, and not from back then.
Nani: Really? Huh, I haven't seen that episode...Well, those guys always say that facts has truth in them, and I suppose you are right, but still... I say that they get a slice each, and that's final.
Lilo: Awww! Why do you have to do that?
Stitch: Naga make Nanee mad, Lilo!
Lilo: Yeah...you're right, Stitch. She's a grown-up, and grown-ups are more smarter, following rules and stuff.
Pleakley: Can we start eating now? I can't believe I am repeating Jumba's words, but I am starving.
Gio: Well, if I wanted to have more than one slice, can I? I'm older, and not a kid...
Nani: Yes, you're fine to have more than one slice, Gio, you are a teenager, and I can't stop you anyway. It's just Lilo and Stitch to get me using my 'big sister' powers to have final say.
Gio (begins plating up food): Say... has anyone ever told you out there that sometimes your way of parenting seems a little strict?
Nani: It's just that after my parents were gone, I was forced to grow up mentally, and well, raising a little sister twice younger than me, it is challenging at times, but I could never regret it because we're all we got in this branch of the Pelekai family, and I love Lilo. Oh, I know I have you and your parents, but living far away on the mainland, well...it's not the same, you know?
Gio: Yes...I...I get that.
Nani: (Smiles reassuringly) Hey, it's okay. (Glances at her plate) Let's eat before all this food gets cold, hmm?
Gio (eats ribs) I hope you all like the ribs.
Jumba: Liking? I loving soft meat!
Pleakley: Yes, it's so complex yet interesting with the sauce and the meat altogether. Mmm!
Stitch: Ribs really good!
Lilo: Yeah, you did a great job, Gio! (Grabs ranch bottle for french fries) Those french fries are great by themselves, but I bet ranch makes them even better!
Stitch: Gio, ketchup, waka please?
Nani: Hmm, this milkshake is really delicious! Definitely washes food down pretty good!
Gio: Ranch on fries?! No way! Not on my fries and seasonings!
Lilo: Gio, come on, people likes different tastes for different food, and ranch on my fries is one of my favorite tastes, and besides, Stitch likes ketchup on his fries.
Nani: She has a point, Gio.
Gio (sighs): Alright...personally...(gets out honey mustard bottle and squirts some on fries) I like honey mustard on my fries.
Lilo: Cool!
Stitch: Mustard tangy good with fries?
Gio: Sweet, Stitch, it's a sweet sauce.
Stitch: Meega happy with food. You good cook!
Pleakley: The little monster's right. The tastes of everything is spectacular! (Slurps milkshake) Delicious!
Jumba: Bread rolls being soft and warm, liking it! (Chomps cheesy bread rolls)
Gio: Woah, uncle Jumba, please don't chomp like that. That is impolite in New York!
Pleakley: Oh, Uncle Jumba just likes chomping down fast on yummy food! He's used to it!
Gio: I'm afraid I'm not used to it.
Jumba: I not being like humans. I only having four teeth, so chomping being easier than chewing.
Gio: Fine...(sighs)
Lilo: (Wipes her mouth after finishing off the fries) Can we have cake now?
Gio: Whoa, we just started eating our main course. You have to finish it first.
Lilo: (Glances at her plate) Oh...I guess I am too impatient, huh? (Grabs a couple of bread rolls)
Gio: Yes, you are.
Nani: You will get used to everything eventually. Lilo being impatient is part of her personality, through for some reason, she can't help being late.
Lilo: Only for hula class, Nani! It's hard to be on time when mornings are really nice to enjoy out there.
Gio: But class is important, Lilo.
Lilo: I know. I love hula! It's just part of me, I guess, can't help being late sometimes.
Gio: Well, schools in New York are very strict if you're tardy because you can get suspended after a certain amount of being tardy.
Nani: That is a rare, yet normal occurrence for public schools here on the island, but with hula school during summertime, students could be suspended from attending competitions, but not grounded from practice nonetheless.
Gio: Lilo, do you ever partake in competitions for hula dancing?
Lilo: (Smiles widely) I sure do! I and Stitch did the International competition with the class last summer, and we won 1st place!
Stitch: Lilo graceful like waves!
Lilo: Aww, thanks, Stitch! You were great too!
Gio: Stitch, too?! But...aliens can't dance!
Jumba: 626 be taught! He smart like super computer, and he not want leaving little girl to face crowds alone even with class on stage.
Lilo: Yeah, Stitch has been coming to hula class every day each summer since we first met, and I help him out, but he really learns fast.
Stitch: Meega loving hula and the king, Elvis!
Gio: Elvis? You mean, Elvis Presley?! (Scoffs) I think he's a disgrace since he had a drug problem.
Gasps surround the family table, aghast on the family's faces)
Nani: Now you've done it. (Grimaces)
Jumba: Do not insulting him! King singing like angel. I loving 'Hound Dog', being favorite!
Pleakley: Yes, Elvis Presley has honor! His clothes and fashion sense is fabulous! And I love 'It's Now or Never'!
Lilo: Elvis is part of Hawaii culture! If everyone in town heard you, they would be furious. And Elvis is awesome, I have his records! And I love 'Stuck on You'!
Stitch: Ih! Elvis cool human! Saw famous sites with ohana on vacations! And 'Burning Love' meega love!
Nani: Elvis is practically part of our lives, Gio. And our parents grew up listening to him, so you can't change my mind either. 'Devil in Disguise' is my favorite.
Gio: Hey, it's just my legal opinion! Drugs are what killed him via overdose!
Nani: Our parents sure was upset when they found out, but it didn't stop them from listening to his songs and teaching us from the time we could speak.
Lilo: Yeah! Elvis is a insnur, inspar, ...
Nani: Inspiration?
Lilo: Yes! That's it! Elvis is our role model!
Gio: Uh...L-l-l-ook, I'm so sorry, I...
Stitch: We not mad at you, we were mad at insult.
Nani: Stitch is right. So, please refrain from doing actions like that, okay, Gio?
Gio: Sorry, but that can't happen. I'm entitled to my opinions.
Nani: I understand. Just don't insult Elvis in public.
Gio: As long as you don't overreact to my opinions for no reason.
Nani: I can agree to that. Guys?
Lilo: Totally.
Stitch: Meega not want Gio scary side like Nani. Meega behave!
Jumba: I supposing I could accepting condition, and I feeling better now.
Pleakley: I can't help being dramatic at times, but I can promise not to overreact for no reason.
Gio: Good. Just remember that with me, there are two sides which include my good side and my angry side and you don't want to see my angry side, and end up in court or jail.
(Nods of acceptance and agreement ringed out with murmurs of understanding around the family table.)
Lilo: You can't charge everyone who makes you mad!
Gio: Uh...with my connections, I can.
Nani: I think what Lilo is saying is that it makes you look like a bad guy if you charge everyone who makes you mad. You just seem blind to not see the difference between accident and intention, innocent and guilty.
Gio: Well, I have been wronged too many times by bullies that I think everyone's out to get me.
Pleakley: Oh, Gio...Is that how you feel?
Nani: Look, everybody's not out to get you. You must have seen how everybody interacted in town, right? You see, here, we do have aloha spirit, and that means we treat visitors with friendly hospitality and it's traditional to call each other cousin, not because we're not all related, but rather a really big ohana.
Gio: But when people wrong me, I feel like justice needs to be served.
Stitch: Gio listen to people!
Nani: That's right. You mustn't judge people upon meeting or such, and you have to listen to their side of the story, etc. Like for example, if you meet a shy person, you assume that he or she is ignoring you when he or she's actually scared to talk. You don't allow him or her to grow out of their shell and stand up to speak.
Gio (Opens mouth but no words come out)
Lilo: I think you broke him.
Gio (gets up from table)
Nani: (Concerned) Gio?
Gio: You...you...made me have no idea what to say...(sighs): I may not be like you, and I may have my opinions, but I will NOT have you tell me to how to judge people.
Nani: Oh, no, Gio, I am just trying to point out a very important lesson, and it's up to you to have the choice in judgment when you meet people, only you.. I won't push you about that.
Gio: I wish I was back in New York!
Nani: Your parents wanted you to be here, to see more family you never knew much about. Would you want them to be upset, hmm?
Gio (sighs)
Nani: (Nods) That's what I thought. Look, sit back with us, and finish up dinner, have slices of dessert, okay?
Gio (sits back down): I'm just not used to being away from home for this long with new rules and new standards.
Nani: I don't blame you there, but hey, you can send them pictures and emails, huh?
Gio: Yes...I guess...
Stitch: Gio no feel sad. Ohana here for you!
Lilo: Yeah, you're part of our ohana, Gio!
Gio: Well, I'm trying to just get adjusted here, and I'm still afraid of aliens cuz I'm concerned one of them will send me to the emergency room in a body cast.
Lilo: Oh, don't worry, we are fast at stopping experiments from doing a lot of damage, and they're usually mischievous if that, but never dangerous per sec when we help them see right from wrong.
Stitch: Ih! Cousins fluffy like meega, but different personalities!
Gio: That is your opinions, but if any of them gets so much as a scratch on me, I'm going to turn them over to the government, no questions asked.
Stitch: You not allow cousins to explain their side of stories if things happen? Cousins not bad! They friendly and mischievous!
Jumba: 626 being right, many beloved experiments being changed to good from bad. If mischievous, that's being normal and playful, having fun.
Gio (shakes head): I disagree.
Nani: Lilo, let this go for now, and perhaps, Gio will change his mind once he gets to know Stitch's cousins, and see that they do not intend harm to him like everybody else here in town. After all, three months, who knows what could happen?
Lilo: But...Oh, alright. But it's stupid to think that everybody is out to get somebody for no reason.
Nani: (Rubs Lilo's hair softly) Everybody's childhood is different, even Gio's. After all, we are not perfect, and we make mistakes, but we do learn from them.
Gio: Say, Lilo... do you have anything to say on how I just made your situation better with Myrtle ? I sure set her straight.
Lilo: Myrtle is awesome. You were a bit right, through. She hates community service. It's great to have a friend again!
Stitch: (Clears throat and raises a eyebrow)
Lilo: Don't worry, Stitch, you're my best friend! And I mean, it's great to have a human friend again. Things got really weird after my parents died, but now, things are looking up! I mean, we got about a hundred cousins rehabbed last summer.
Gio: Over a hundred?! (eyes widen) I really should've visited you all a long time ago!
