Disclaimer: Sam Simpson and Tim Scam do not belong to me but I love them and will continue to ship the HELL out of them until the end of time. Deal with it.

Early Bird

She never liked waking up early.

The redhead thought to herself as she lay cuddled up under the black covers on the king-sized mattress of her canopy bed.

All her life she took every chance she could get to sleep in till noon or heck, even later if she could get away with it.

It would seem contradictory for a textbook bookworm like herself. Most of that breed fancied rising from slumber as soon as possible to get in more reading time before they had to put down their beloved books and get on to whatever dull tasks lay ahead of them on that particular day.

Oh but not her, she was able to make it work without sacrificing any precious sleep.

It was simple really and just required some laser focus. The key was to be more productive, to get more out of the hours you were awake for instead of having more hours awake and not using them wisely.

Time management, that was it. That was her only magic trick.

And boy had it worked for her. Never had she been forced to turn into an early bird. Never. Not through elementary, junior high, high school, or even college. Hell, not even the temptation of seeing the pretty colours of a dawn sky in person instead of just in photographs (despite being quite the poetess) had ever compelled her to open her eyes even a minute earlier than she usually did.

Just then the sharp, happy chirp of a Californian black bird that had nested somewhere nearby her abode rang out interrupting her thoughts. Its song told her exactly what time it was:

5:00 am

Idly she rolled over in the bed to her side. Once in position she drew the blankets up almost all the way to her face but left just enough space so that she could get a clear view of the master bedroom's door.

Then she began to count.

"Five ... " she started backwards under her breath.

"Four ..." Sam whispered as her ears picked up on the sound of steadily approaching footsteps from large feet moving just outside.

"Three..." The doorknob could now be heard being fiddled with.

"Two..." Slowly the door swung open.

"One."

Right on cue in walked her bare-chested, shower damp-haired, and towel clad husband. He paused right next to the bed for just a second, smiling at what he assumed was her innocently sleeping form before moving past her towards the dresser.

He turned his back towards her and soon became busied with finding some clothes to wear now that he had returned from his morning jog and had finished showering off his sweat.

And just as the towel that had been riding low on his hips fell entirely to the carpeted floor with a soft pat, she opened her eyes all the way and manoeuvred her head around soundlessly to look past the wall of her blanket directly at him.

Slowly her lips turned upwards into a small grin of delight and her emerald eyes lit up in awe at the heavenly visual the unsuspecting man before her was giving front row seats to; one far better than anything she could be seeing in any dream if she were truly asleep right now.

She bit her lower lip secretly admiring his bare, muscular, tanned, and perfectly sculpted body in all its glory to her heart's content, a task much less risky to do when he didn't realize she was looking at it.

So yea, she thought to herself as she silently swooned at his sexy stature. She'd never liked waking up early. It was a drag and she was always able to live her life without ever needing to do so.

But then she married…

Him.

In summary: Sammie is too shy to peep at Tim without being seen because he smugly taunts her for it so she's gotten sneaky. xD

Or at least she thinks she has; can you imagine if Scam KNEW? That would be a fun follow-up moment lmao.

ANYWAY! This was basically an "Hey, I'm alive!" update more than anything haha but I hope you liked this hopefully cute, domestic moment? I'll hope to get back to writing actual updates eventually, I'm still swamped and dealing with things that are KILLING my inspiration and time so ugh.

Love,

Cres :)
