Lilo: You're ohana, Gio! (Grins at the thought of spending many, many days of fun with Gio lending ideas or surprising them with meals)
Gio: Say, what time is it?!
Lilo: 4:25. Are you going to order Italian now? I wanna have spaghetti and meatballs!
Stitch: Meat Lover Lasagna!
Jumba: I believing I am gonna trying new meal since Italian here, thanks to bigger girl, happening every month. What was I trying to remember, the words?...Ah, yes, I meaning to try Panini sandwiches.
Pleakley: I am interested to try shrimp scampi.
Gio: Know any Italian places? (Grabs cell phone)
Pleakley: I remember the name of our usual Italian place, Kauai Pasta Lihue. (Which actually is a real restaurant, with some additions to the menu via cartoon adaption.)
Gio: Can someone get me the phone number?
Pleakley: Oh, sure! (Heads to drawer) Where is that pamphlet menu? Aha! (Draws out pamphlet, and hands it to Gio) The number's on the back.
Gio (dials number): And...(pushes "call" button)
Lilo: (Whispers) Come on, Stitch, let's watch some cartoons or something. Dinner's gonna take a while.
Stitch: (Nods) Ih. (Both Lilo and Stitch leave the kitchen to the living room)
Jumba: (Speaks quietly to Pleakley) Noodle-head, I going to have shower. You needing bathroom?
Pleakley: (Speaks quietly) No, I am good. Go ahead, Jumba. (Jumba smiles and nods, leaving kitchen to head to boys' bedroom to grab pajamas) Just do the meals. We can do drinks here fast, Gio. And besides, the kids (Nickname for Lilo and Stitch) don't need any more sugar tonight after that party.
Gio: Hello?
(Phone attendant/cashier): Welcome to Kauai Pasta Lihue. What can I do for you, sir?
Gio: Yes, I'd like to place an order for delivery.
(Phone attendant/cashier): Oh, yes. Okay, I got a pen and order slip, ready to go.
Gio: Well, I would like a 20-piece order of bread sticks, a family size order of chicken parmesan, a large order of lasagna, a tray of spaghetti and meatballs, a large meat lover pizza, and a tray of tiramisu.
Pleakley: (Speaks quietly) Don't forget about the panini sandwiches, 6 of them for Jumba, and shrimp scampi for me, regular size.
Gio: Oh, and throw in about...12 panini sandwiches and one order of shrimp scampi.
Phone attendant/cashier: Wowza, that's a lot of food! Okay, it's all down on paper. Hold on a moment. (Sound of computer calculator on register) Alright, that'd be $391.20.
Gio: I'll pay via card.
Phone attendant/cashier: Alright. We have a few credit card devices. I will have the delivery man have one of that on his person so you don't have to expose your pin number out loud on the phone.
Gio: Alright, thank you. How long will this order take?
Phone attendant/cashier: That would take 20-25 minutes to prepare and cook as we have extra large pots and etc of food. Please, your name and address, and then I can give you the route time to put into total time.
Gio: My name is Gio Pelekai.
Phone attendant/cashier: Gio Pelekai? You wouldn't be related to Nani Pelekai of the Pelekai House, would it?
Gio: Yep! How did you know?
Phone attendant/cashier: (Chuckles warmly) The Pelekai House is a regular customer of this fine restaurant, two times a month!
Gio: She is?!
Phone Attendant/cashier: Oh, yes, but she doesn't go for large orders like you did. She usually ordered small or regular size of a few meals here and there, being conservative, I suppose.
Gio: Well, thank you very much, and I hope to get the food soon.
Phone Attendant/cashier: You're in luck. The Pelekai House, your residence isn't that far off, mainly 10 minutes. Thankfully, we don't have crazy mainland traffic! The delivery man will be there within 30 minutes.
Gio: Thank you! Bye! (Hangs up)
Pleakley: (Checking the lemons for making lemonade) All good there, Gio?
Gio: Yep!
Pleakley: Great. Care to help me make lemonade while we wait?
Gio: Normally I would, but right now I have to set the table so you're going to do it on your own.
Pleakley: Fair enough. (Turns attention on lemons, checking for ripeness before heading for the sugar cabinet)
Gio: Anyway, what was it like when you first came to Earth?
Pleakley: Well, I can say it was both terrifying yet exciting. It was a new planet, so different from my studies about it. It was like it was more than I ever imagined or researched, and things about Earth was exaggerated back in school when I had to look upon books and word of mouth, like the mainland portions were said to be islands of a sort, and that Earth is a protected sanctuary for endangered mosquitoes which I was naïve to believe at the time...
Gio: Whoa...that's deep.
Pleakley: (Nods) Yeah, and please don't be mad at me, but I have to be honest here. Many people of several races I had the opportunity to meet, they often said that Earth was a backwater planet, that humans were...er...feeble, and that the animals were to be freaky-looking. Why, there has been stories that the ancestors of the several alien races met the famed dinosaurs eons ago.
Gio: Why...would I be mad at that information?
Pleakley: Well, because Earth is your home. Pride of your homeland, etc?
Gio: Yes, but I wouldn't be mad about the past, honestly.
Pleakley: (Sighs in relief) Because it's history now, huh?
Gio (nods): Yes.
Pleakley: (Thinks thoughtfully of another topic) What is your favorite genre of books? I like drama, through I have a tendency to go for gossip and fashion magazines yet I know they aren't technically books.
Gio: Me? Well...(opens fridge) I prefer adventure and humor.
Pleakley: (Chuckles) Somehow, I can see that. (Looks around) I would have swore that the pitcher was on top of the fridge...(Sees Gio pull out a empty pitcher from the fridge, all cold and ready for preparation of lemonade) Oh, that's right, I forgot I put it in there hours ago. (Gio hands it over to him) Thanks, Gio. (Now turns full attention to plate of lemons to cut them in half, so he can squeeze the juice into the pitcher, glad to have the jar of sugar nearby, lid open)
Gio (opens fridge again and grabs a glass of milk inside): Anyway, I really am adjusting to the ohana here. (sips milk)
Pleakley: (Hums lightly in confirmation as he was focused on the cutting part, soon finishing up) I believe that, and sooner or later, you will be quoting the motto often. It's a family tradition around here.
Gio: Is it a Hawaii thing?
Pleakley: It sure is, but you can adapt it to your life on the mainland as well. After all, names of people originate in several places including Hawaii, but they can be unique to the persons themselves no matter where they live or go.
Gio: Yeah... I kind of think I learned that today.
Pleakley: (Smiles heartily) I have no doubt of that. Pardon me while I squeeze these lemons. I don't want to be distracted and have a lemon squirt into my eye...again...(Shudders)
Gio (nods): Alright...
(And so, Gio and Pleakley went to do their own things; Pleakley making lemonade and Gio setting the tableware)
Gio (places plates on table): You know, I find a good family experience in anything including setting the table which most people find a regular chore.
Pleakley: (Now twirling the sugar in the lemonade steadily) Because it's peaceful?
Gio: Well...yeah, but more than that...
Pleakley: How so? (Now opening cabinet to grab some glasses to be out on counter when everybody needs them once dinner arrives.)
Gio: Well, it's helping the family out, and families help out together.
Pleakley: That's certainly true. And it's better than being alone.
Gio: You don't have to tell me that twice!
Pleakley: (Grins lightly, and then glances at the clock) Looks like it's halftime before dinner delivery.
Gio (begins placing silverware): Do you have a family of your own?
Pleakley: Yeah. Mother and two older/younger siblings; brother and sister. I have, ah, a touchy relationship with them, but we're trying. And as for my father, he died months after my sister came into the family, but Mother always thought he abandoned us due to the nature of his death...
Gio: What...was the nature of his death?
Pleakley: Mine evacuating. My family wasn't always high-class, you see, and Mother pushed us past the point of unhealthily after his death, wanting us to be happy, but as for Father, well, my memory of him is much hazy since I only spent 3, almost four years with him. He was tough in build, but soft-hearted...Anyhow, it was really a struggle in the household, with the bills, not that I could recognize back then, but I remembered a sort of tension. And with my sister being born, it meant a extra mouth to feed...She may be sassy and stubborn as a adult right now, but back then, she was small...Almost the same size as I was...He was helping someone else to get out when the mine collapsed...It was said that he suffocated from the smoke and stuff. He was found under a pile of big rocks...
Gio: Oh...(hugs him) I'm so sorry!
Pleakley: (Pats Gio's shoulder warmly) It's okay, Gio. Past is past...You know...He would have liked you. He was always one for witty jokes.
Gio: I'm sure he would.
Pleakley: Indeed. (Clears throat as he pulls back, realizing the hug took a tad longer than normal) You know, on Sunday nights like tomorrow, we usually have campfires and do scary stories after dinner. Jumba and Lilo is the record holders, tied at the amount of gore and screams. Wanna give it a shot?
Gio: Uh...I'll think about it, but probably not...
Pleakley: That's okay. I am just mentioning what we tend to do around here on the weekends since you arrived on Tuesday.
Gio: And as a family member, I appreciate that.
Pleakley: You're very much welcome. (Opens silverware drawer, hands forks and spoons to Gio) Here you go as you set the plates already.
Gio (grabs silverware): Thanks.
Pleakley: (Smiles) No problem. (Then they hear a bark from the next room; the living room)
Lilo: You hear something, Stitch? (Her voice is heard easy enough, along with Stitch's voice)
Stitch: Rocks crunching. Wheels turning. Car coming!
Lilo: Not Nani's jeep?
Stitch: Naga. Normal car. Naga Bubbles car.
Lilo: Oh, it must be the delivery man!
Stitch: Ih. Be parked in minute or two.
Gio (rushes to front door): Just get your stomachs ready, everyone, because this is a big order!
Stitch: (Gives a bark in understanding)
Lilo: We already are hungry! We are just trying to be patient!
Pleakley: I will get Jumba! (Heads through doorway to boys' bedroom, figuring Jumba's distracted with a science book after his brief shower)
(The voice of the delivery man in the distance) Oof, so many steps! I hope Benny gives me a slight raise after this. (Grunts lightly as there was a thud on the middle landing) And definitely a couple more days at the gym on my routine. Luckily, those catering bags are a life-saver at least! Right, upwards. (Sound of footsteps getting closer)
Gio (Opens front door): Hello!
Delivery Man: (Smiles brightly albeit a bit weary, putting down a few catering bags of the food Gio ordered) Aloha. Good evening, sir. (Pulls out his pin card slide machine from his fanny pack) All the food you've ordered, sir, no damage whatsoever. Credit card, please.
Gio (hands him debit hard): Here you go!
Delivery Man: (Slides it down the slot of the little machine, and it dings green which means it's working) There, it's marked done! (Hands back debit card, and shows the machine to face Gio) Signature, please, so it is double checked and legit.
Gio (signs it): Thanks! (Grabs all the containers)
Lilo: (Slips into sight) Hey, mister, here's two bucks for you! (Shows a couple of dollars, and hands it to the delivery man)
Delivery man: Nice tip. Mahalo. Have a good dinner! (Leaves with a wave)
Lilo: Bye, delivery man! (Closes door as Gio is occupied with the containers)
Gio (carries containers into kitchen): Now, to prepare the dinner feast in the center of the table! (places all containers onto counter)
Pleakley: Wow! (Having just entered living room with Jumba, peeking in the kitchen) It sounded like a rather large meal of choices when spoken on the phone, but right now, it looks like a super large meal!
(Meanwhile, inside Gantu's ship, he and 625 were watching a movie together after finishing "Free Willy", and this new movie was called, "Angels with Even Filthier Souls"...)
625: So, you're telling me a gangster lived in the lighthouse?
Gantu: (Groans lightly) You knew I had locked up criminals when I was Captain...This gangster somehow knew one of my biggest secrets ever!
(At that point, the movie showed a pretty lady enter Johnny's apartment, only for him to turn around and face her...)
Johnny: Hold it right there!
Lady (surprised): I-It's me, Johnny!
Johnny: I knew it was you...(stands up) I could smell ya getting off the elevator!
Gantu: Wait a second...The brat said that too!
Lady: It's Gradian, Johnny, your favorite!
Johnny: You was here last night too, wasn't ya?!
Lady: I was...singing at the "Blue Monkey" last night, Johnny!
Johnny: You was here...and you were smooching with my brother!
Gantu: What the hell?! Did this happen to me again? From a movie itself?!
625: (Whistles) You have to admit that the kid, Gio knows his movies, and he's protective of his family, and he likes to scare you off! (Snickers)
Gantu: (Growls) Shut up.
625 (laughs)
Gantu: (Huffs) I had enough shenanigans today. And besides, I do not want to be threatened by that brat a third time! After all, twice bitten, once wary.
625: (Blinks) Actually, it's once bitten, twice shy.
Gantu: (Grumbles) Neither way, I am staying here! Away from that brat.
625: Then...how will you do your dirty work for Hamsterviel?
Gantu: I will just compromise on capturing any other experiments from the little girl or that trog, and they aren't freaking scary like that brat...
625: Are you afraid to go after Gio?!
Gantu: Yes! Okay, fine, he's like a demon monster that is amused by scaring me off! Heck, I admit he's more scarier than Hamsterviel!
625: Really, that bad?
Gantu: I have been hearing rumors that the brat is the son of a lawyer, and you know lawyers are scary, especially in court!
625: (Whistles) Ouch...That explains a lot...
Gantu: So, back off, 625!
625: What is so hilarious that you are a massive creature, scared of a teenage boy?
Gantu: You haven't seen his temper when he gets mad! And besides, did he try to kill you a while back? I heard you talking to yourself in the bathroom.
625: Uh...
Gantu: (Smirks) You're speechless for once!
625 (kicks Gantu's knee): SHUT UP!
Gantu: Ow, ow, ow! (Leaping with clutching into knee) That actually hurt! Fine, fine, just don't do that again, or bring up the brat around me! Sheesh, I'm not in the mood to argue anymore! (Mutters) Some ramen noodles sounds good. (Leaves 625, heading to the kitchen)
625:(snickers)
(And so, the night passes with the Pelekai-Pleakley-Jookiba family eating dinner and watching tv afterwards, and 625 mentally noting that bugging Gantu on Saturday nights should be routine.)
(The scene then cuts to the members of the Pelekai-Pleakley-Jookiba family enjoying the massive Italian feast dinner together, with them already halfway through it...)
Gio: So...what do you all think?!
Pleakley: It's fabulous!
Jumba: Being very delicious!
Lilo: Yeah, it's really good!
Stitch: Yummy tasting!
Gio: Ah, I'd knew you all like it!
Lilo: (Smiles) We better save some for Nani. She couldn't mind having dinner for breakfast tomorrow as after all, Sundays are lazy days around here.
Stitch: Ih!
Pleakley: It's really nice to see Nani spend more time with David. She had been so busy recently this week. She'll relax more over the summer now, I think.
Jumba: (Smirks lightly) I be theorizing the bigger couple be married within couple years.
Pleakley: Oh, please don't drag me into your betting, Jumba. Last time, I lost! (Blinks in thought) Though, May would be nice for that future wedding.
Jumba: (Grins)
Lilo: (Giggles) I would really like to be a flower girl! And two years can go fast. And oh, I think it would be March.
Stitch: Meega taking that bet, Jumba. But Meega think it being one year, not two years.
Jumba: Oh, you're on, 626! What be you thinking, bigger boy?
Gio: Wedding?! (nearly chokes on food) Lilo...(coughs) I'm not a wedding person...I can't deal with those type of events. I...I...(shakes head) It's not something I'd look forward too. They are boring!
Lilo: What about family getting married? Nani's family. You couldn't deny that, could you? And besides, Nani would be glad if she sees you in the chairs or whatever. And besides, are you listening? We just are betting whether if they possibly could get married within next year or the year after that. They really love each other!
