Hey, King Spike Rules here and this is the second chapter to Spike's Basket Ball. Spike looks for more like minded players to join his team, and he soon finds one skilled play that could be helpful.

Chapter 2: Long Shot Away.

The crowd remain silent as the girl with glasses stood there with the others helping Fluttershy up, she turned to look at her and walked towards the girl.

"Are you okay?" she asked her looking her over and Fluttershy looked at her flashing a sweet smile on her face.

"Yeah, my head just hurts little Twilight." She said and Twilight looked at her for a few moments before looking at another player.

"Trixie, take her to the nurse." Twilight said and the girl groaned, looking annoyed at Dash as she walked towards the them and helped Fluttershy out. With Fluttershy safely on her way to the nurses office, she turned to look at Dash and Applejack, "So, what happened?"

"Well, that poser came here thinking there was a boy basketball club and talked smack." Dash said pointing to Spike and then got hit in the back of the head by Applejack, leaving a bump on her head.

"Quit leaving out details." Applejack scolded her, "She laughed and mocked that he wanted to restart the basketball club for the boys, and he took exception in showing he can play." Hearing Applejack's explanation, Twilight nodded and turned to look at Spike who was holding the basketball in his arm.

"Oh, you choice this school Spike?" she asked him walking up to him and he looked at her with a smile on his face.

"Yeah, you said how great the team was that I wanted to see how they where." he said smiling looking behind her at the team going through their drills, working to make their movement in sync and working on their basics before practice even started.

"Wait, you know this dweeb Twilight?" Dash asked looking confused along with Applejack and the look Twilight gave her was colder then a blizzard

"Please don't call my brother a dweeb again or else ten times the practice." Twilight said sending shiver up Dash's spine but then a look of shock popped into her head.

"Wait, you have a younger brother and never told us?" Dash asked as she, Applejack, and the rest of the team stopped to stare at them confused with their looks of wonder in their eyes.

"I would not like to talk about it right now since practice is late for starting already." Twilight said turning to look at Spike who smiled at her and she looked around, "Spike you can use this half court to practice while we use the rest and then we can go home."

"Right, understood." Spike said bouncing the ball in his hands and Twilight gave him a smile before taking out a whistle, blowing it as loud as she can.

"Alright ladies. First sting lay up, second fake out, third passing drills." Twilight yelled and the team started to get in sets as Spike watched her, smiling as he began to start his own practice with his shots and lay ups but he couldn't help but to feel alone as he did them

Practice ended after a few hours of going and they cleaned the gym as Dash was put on sweeping duty with most of the other team having already left for the day. Twilight was finishing with putting her outside shoes back on with Applejack keeping an eye on Dash.

"You can go sugarcube. I have her." Applejack said her arms crossed in front of her and making sure Dash didn't slack off from her cleaning.

"Thanks." Twilight said walking out of the gym and seeing Spike sitting next to the door waiting for her, "you didn't need to wait for me."

"Since you said we would leave together, why wouldn't I wait for you?" he asked and she nodded, excepting his answer walking off towards the front gate with Spike following her. "So, why didn't you tell me about the boys basketball club?" Spike asked looking at her.

"I never thought you would come here since Shining offered to help you get into Crystal High." Twilight said looking over to him and he looked away for a few moments with his mind racing for an answer.

"Oh come on." Spike said, "There is no way my grades could get me there."

"Good point, but you should have checked other school before coming here." she said with a hint of coldness to it and Spike just looked at her for a few moments not sure how he should take that commit.

"That wouldn't have changed anything." Spike said pulled her attention to him and he looked at her smiling, "I enjoy walking home with you, so we can share this more with our practice."

"Spike, you corny." she said turning back to the front and a small smile appeared on her face as they continued to walk on towards their house, "How does curry sound for dinner?"

"No way. Last time i ate your curry i was stuck in the bathroom for days." Spike said with a smirk and laughed while Twilight gave him a dirty look walking with him on towards their house.

Spike was up bright and earlier with a banner Pinkie had made him by his asking for help, and she also offered him some cupcakes to help convince others to give it a try and Spike waved the banner around to try to get them too look at him.

"Come and joint he new boys basketball club." Spike yelled out loud looking at everyone and all he got was weird looks by passers by, and a few stolen cupcake when he wasn't looking. But Spike still had high hopes when class started and he had to take time to head off to classes for the day. But he failed to notice a few eyes on the banner he was using and they were looking at it closely.

"Do you think that is what we need, a sport?" one asked looking at Spike heading off to classes.

"I'm not sure, but we could try something." another added standing next to the other.

"But I'm not so sure about joining it." a third chimed in and they all talked it over heading off to their own classes.

'Sigh.' Spike couldn't help but sigh sitting by the doors to the gym with a long face, no one payed any attention to him while he was trying to find players to join his club. Twilight had told him that they really needed all courts for practice today and that he had to wait outside for his chance since their was no club for him to practice with.

"O-oh, a-are you okay?" a voice called out to him and Spike looked up to see Fluttershy looking at him with a concern look on her face.

"Oh, yeah." Spike reassured her, "Just waiting for my chance to practice after the girls are done."

"O-oh, okay." she said walking past him and he turned to get a chance to see the team practice on the court, a smile appearing on his face as he wished he could head in there. It was then that he heard a call from the gym.

"Hey Spike." Twilight called out to him and he hopped up to look at her, "can you head tot eh club room and grab my book, i forgot it in there."

"Sure thing." Spike said heading on to the club house and climbed the stairs to the room, opening it to see several things with the move noticeable thing being a tv and dvd along with a few scattered bras. "Damn, this place is a mess." Spike said blush on his face as he headed to Twilight's locker and grabbed the book when he saw a pair of eyes looking at him from inside the locker. Spike stared at the eye for a few moments before yelling out to it, "The hell are you doing in there?" The eyes vanished and Spike charged towards the door, jumping down the stairs to follow a figure that turned the corner, and he ran after them and turned to see nothing. Spike moved closer and scanning the area before kicking a trash can by a door, knocking it over and a the figure fell out of the can. He had a slight tan tone with a bright blue mohawk and lime green eyes, and wearing a blue t-shirt with a lightning bolt on the front, cargo pants, and sneakers.

"Dude, not cool man." he said rubbing his head and looking up with an annoyed look on his face.

"Seriously, Tom?" Spike asked looking down at him with his arms crossed and a glare on his eyes.

"That's not my name." he said mad glaring back at him.

"Really? looking at my sister's locker room says other." Spike scolded, "How about I tell the girls I found you peaking in their locker room?"

"Whoa, that would be my third strike." he said defensively and standing up, "Couldn't we figure out a way for you to forget about this and let me go off the hook."

"Why should i let you off the hook?" Spike asked crossing his arms and glaring at the guy, who was sweating until a thought popped into his head.

"Wait, why where you in the girls club room anyway?" he asked looking at him a smirk appearing on his face.

"My sister sent me to collect her book, she's the captain of girl's basketball club." Spike said glaring at him and then saw the smirk get bigger on the guys face.

"Oh, so do you like basketball as much as she does?" he asked.

"Yeah, and I'm trying to restart the boys basketball club." Spike shot back and the guys smiled, putting his hand on Spike shoulder, showing they were the same height, but Spike felt something from him that he didn't feel before.

"Names Soarin and how about we set up a little game after their practice?" he asked him and Spike glared back at him, feeling ready to take him on even with this weird tension coming off of this guy.

"Sure, right after their practice." Spike said glaring even harder and even adding a smirk to the mix with the two of them staring down each other.

TBC.
