"BOOM! Headshot number five in a row! Beat that!" Gia taunted, doing the 'come at me' gesture to Jake.
"Gia, all you did was tie the game." Jake said simply. Gia continued to smile.
"Yeah, but I killed you with a headshot five times in a row." Gia taunted. Jake sighed.
"I never should've told you to use the Dragonov." He said. Gia focused her attention back to the game. She and Jake decided to hook up his Xbox and have a little 'friendly' 1 vs 1 on Black Ops II while waiting for the others. Jake, being naturally good at the game, took the lead almost immediately. However, Gia was a quick learner, and by five minutes in, the game was tied, at 45 kills apiece. The better Gia got, the more into the game she became, and Jake seriously questioned whether or not she was all that new to video games.
"Your mistake." Gia laughed. She controlled her character to look out the window, and put her scope up. Eyeing Jake's character, she instantaneously pulled the trigger on the controller, earning her her 6th headshot kill in a row.
"Okay, can we have a fair fight? Please?" Jake begged, as he switched classes, yet again. Gia pondered his request.
"By fair, you mean…?" She prompted.
"As in you switch from using sniper rifles." Jake answered. Gia shook her head and smiled.
"Hey, I found my domain, okay? You need to find yours." Jake just sighed, smiled, and continued the game. Five minutes later, the game was done, and Gia had won, as Jake would've guessed. Her killstreak earned her a Sentry Gun and a VTOL, which she used to her advantage, to rack up her points, and win the game 105 to 87. "And that's game" Gia said proudly. Jake sat back on the couch.
"Savor it. When we get to Florida, and we play late at night, that's when I shine." Jake smirked. Gia gave him a questionative look.
"We'll see about that." She said, coming over to him. "Right now, I say we have a little...fun." Gia got on top of Jake, essentially straddling him. Leaning in, she whispered in his ear: "I can't wait until Florida. I say we have our maidan voyage here and now." Jake was breathing heavily. He wanted this, of course, but he hardly thought now was an appropriate time. Fortunately for him, Just as Gia was about to lean down, the doorbell rang. Jake sighed.
"Saved by the bell" He said, excitedly. Gia groaned loudly in annoyance, and got off of Jake.
"Tomorrow night, when we're in our hotel room, we're picking up right where we left off." She told him. Jake smiled.
"Sounds good to me." He confirmed as Gia got the door. She opened it to find Troy and Emma, both with their bags in hand.
"How was your date, you two?" Gia teased, letting them in. Troy shrugged.
"Date was good. Food was awful." He summed up. Gia looked questionatively at Emma, who nodded, confirming what Troy said.
"I've had amazing veggie-based burgers before. That place made them taste like pig feed." She summed up, as the three joined Jake in the living room.
"So, what have you two been up to?" Troy asked, inquisitively, looking back and forth between Jake and Gia. Jake rolled his eyes as Gia sighed.
"No lines were crossed if that's what you mean?" She stated. Troy shrugged.
"You were here alone for, what, half hour? You can't tell me something didn't happen." Troy pushed. Gia sighed.
"It almost happened. There, I said it. Happy?" Gia half growled at him. Troy laughed and Emma smirked.
"You guys are missing out." Emma said. "It's pretty fun." Gia turned bright red for the second time of the day. Muttering something about how Troy and Emma interrupted a possibly heavenly time, Gia plopped herself on the couch next to Jake, and leaned into him, resting her head on his shoulder.
"Don't tell me that playing video games made you this tired." Jake joked. Gia smirked, maintaining her current position.
"Crushing you zaps a lot of energy." Jake laughed as Emma looked up.
"You got Gia to play video games? How?" Emma was truly stunned. Everytime the topic was brought up, Gia shot it down, saying how it was a 'waste of time'.
"My idea, actually." Gia said, taking credit where credit was due. "I wanted to try them out."
"And not because Jake plays them?" Troy asked. Gia shot Troy a death glare, and moved in closer to Jake. At that time, the doorbell rang again, and Emma got up to answer it, so Gia can stay snuggled up next to Jake. Not a minute later, Emma came back in the living room with Noah in tow.
"Took ya long enough." Jake joked, looking at Noah. "I'd bro-hug you or something, but I'm kinda stuck."
"Stuck?" Noah asked, confused. "How can you be...oh." On seeing Gia snuggled so close to Jake, and the death glare she gave him, Noah didn't push the topic of conversation any further.
"Okay, inventory check. Everyone brought their morphers, right?" Troy asked, getting serious. Nodding, everyone pulled out their morphers, except Jake.
"Babe, did you not pack your morpher?" Gia asked, looking at him funny.
"No it's in my backpack. I just didn't wanna move." Jake confirmed. Gia smiled, and lay back into him, as Noah pulled out Jake's morpher, and tossed it to him.
"Thanks, man." Jake said. Noah nodded.
"Alright, I know we're retired now, but anything can happen. Just...be vigilant." Troy advised.
"I hope everything goes well." Gia muttered. "Last thing I want is for a monster attack to ruin our vacation."
"I second that." Jake added.
"Ditto" Emma agreed.
"The likelihood of a monster attack right now is 3,720 to 1." Noah confirmed.
"Never tell them the odds." Jake muttered.
"Either way, lets just have fun, but know it's still early after the defeat of the Armada. Some survivors might still be out and about." Troy said.
"Troy. It's over. We won, they lost." Gia said in a flat tone. Troy gave her a questionative look.
"Remember what happened last time you told me that?" Troy stated. Gia sighed. She had told him those words after the defeat of the insectoids, only to find out that Vrak was revived, and later, the messenger who led the way for the Armada.
"Okay, fair point, but still. Let's just have fun, and not have to worry about it for once. If something does go sideways, we'll deal with it, and return to relaxing." Gia said. Everyone nodded in agreement, keen on having a relaxing vacation without any worries.
"Now that that is all settled, whose down for some Black Ops?" Jake asked the group. Half an hour later, the group was heavily involved in a game of Black Ops II Zombies. Noah offered to sit this one out, as he preferred PVP over PVE.
"Argh!" Jake protested as he was brought down by a zombie. "Can someone come get me? I just Pack-a-Punched my Python!"
"I got you, dude" Troy confirmed, running over to revive his virtual fallen teammate. "I told you to grab Juggernog."
"You didn't" Jake pointed out.
"Not yet." Troy said. The smell of pizza quickly flooded the house, and Troy perked up. "It's only 4 in the afternoon. Who's making pizza?" He asked. Jake looked over to Gia, also confused. Gia only shrugged, looking over her shoulder.
"Mom! Dad!" She called.
"Yes Gia?" Her mother responded.
"Are we having dinner early?"
"Yes, your father and I want you guys in bed early. We have to be up at 4 in the morning, possibly 3:30." The group seemed to be stunned by their required wake-up time for the next morning.
"Okay, thanks mom!" Gia called back. She looked back to the game in time to see her character get knocked by a zombie. "Freaking A!" She yelled.
"Relax, I've got you." Jake said, reviving her character.
"Yes, but now I have no perks." Gia stated.
"You have 5500 points, I'm pretty sure you can get at least some of them back." Troy said, as he grabbed Juggernog. "Unless you want Speed Cola, you can pretty much get all the perks." Sighing, Gia headed to the side of the bar to grab Staminup, and a new box weapon. Her luck turned around as she grabbed the Ray Gun from the box.
"Is this any good?" she asked, showing off the weapon. Both Jake and Troy's eyes widened, and Gia and Emma stifled their laughs.
"Gia, that's the best weapon in the game!" Jake confirmed. Smiling, Gia switched to her HAMR, putting the Ray Gun away.
"Guess I better save it then". The game went on for 15 minutes, until havoc erupted. Emma was brought down quickly due to having no more ammo in her guns.
"Great" she muttered. "It's all on you three." Troy was then downed seconds later, having been swarmed.
"Jake, Gia, you're our only hope." Troy joked. Jake and Gia seemed to be doing very well, until Jake slipped up, and got downed, Gia following very quickly.
"Well, there goes that" Gia said. Jake laughed.
"Better than I have ever done." From the kitchen, Gia's mom called the group in for dinner. The five teens went into the kitchen to find two large pizzas waiting for them, as well as a smaller, plant-based pizza for Emma.
"Thanks, Mr. and Mrs. Moran" Troy said.
"No problem" Mr. Moran smiled. "Now eat up, and get going to bed. We'll be up very early tomorrow morning."
Lengthy I know, but I'm planning on this story being long in general, so there won't be too much Rangering until later. Anyway, bye for now!
