"Jake, babe, wake up" Gia shook a very sleepy Jake, trying to wake him, alas, with no luck. "JAKE" Jake stirred and slowly opened his eyes.
"What time is it?" He muttered.
"3:50. My parents are already up and have the car packed." Gia said as Jake sat up and rubbed his eyes. He looked out of Gia's bedroom window, and saw it was still pitch black, which clashed with Gia's bright yellow room. He and Gia had slept together in Gia's bedroom, and Jake had to remind himself that this "sleeping together" instance didn't involve doing the do.
"What time to we have to leave?" Jake asked, still groggy.
"My dad wants to leave by 4:15, so get up!" Gia nearly pulled Jake out of her bed. Laughing, Jake got out of bed, and gave Gia a prolonged hug.
"Morning to you too" he joked. Gia didn't mind the joke, as the hug was all that was on her mind, and she was a little upset when they broke apart. "Where are the others?" Jake asked.
"All already up." Gia explained. "Emma and Troy woke me and Noah up a bit ago, and since then, I've been trying to get you up."
"Well, I'm up. Just let me get ready and I'll meet you downstairs." Jake said, stepping into Gia's bathroom. Gia smiled. At least he's out of bed she told herself. Not 5 minutes later, Jake flopped onto the couch next to Gia, who was sipping some coffee from a Disneyland mug.
"Morning, again" Gia joked between sips.
"Morning" Jake said back, smiling.
"My parents got your duffle in the car already. I took the ordeal to pack your Xbox back into your backpack. That along with what's in it, plus your toiletries, can be your carry-on." Gia summed up. Curious, Jake checked his backpack, and saw it was perfectly, and rather neatly, packed. Smiling, he looked back over to his girlfriend.
"Packing wizard" he said, ruffling her hair. Gia giggled.
"Jake stop!" Gia laughed. "I just brushed my hair!" Smiling, Jake stopped, and got up, grabbing his backpack.
"I'm gonna run to the bathroom real quick, then I'm all set." He said, as Gia looked at him.
"You were just in the bathroom." She pointed out. Jake shrugged.
"Wasn't going to use the bathroom in your bathroom. Even I have some standards." Jake stated. Gia smiled as he went off, and felt a hand on her shoulder. Looking up, she saw Emma smiling down at her, Troy right behind her. Gia sighed.
"Not a word about doing the do." Gia said. Emma chuckled.
"I was only going to say he's perfect for you. I'm glad your happy." Emma told her, and Gia smiled. Finishing her coffee, she set the mug down on the coffee table, and got up off the couch.
"Are we all set?" Gia asked. Troy nodded.
"Your parents just finished packing the car, and Noah's already in the car with them. Once Jake comes out, your dad will lock up the house, and we're off." Troy summed up. Grabbing her carry-on, Gia nodded to the door.
"You two head to the car. I'll wait for Jake." She told them. Smiling, Troy and Emma turned and headed out to the car. Seconds later, Jake emerged from the bathroom, looking eager to get going. "Ready?" Gia asked him, just to be sure.
"Ready." Jake confirmed. The two walked out to the car and, after assuming their seats in the 3rd row of the car and Gia's father locked up the house, Gia took a small pillow from her bag, placed it on Jake's shoulder, and layed on it, smiling.
"Everyone ready?" Mr. Moran called back to the group, looking through the rearview mirror.
"Alpha and Beta, ready" Emma joked.
"Am I Alpha or Beta?" Troy asked. Emma seemed to ponder this.
"You'll be Beta" she said, smiling. Troy laughed.
"Very well, Alpha." he confirmed.
"Alpha and Beta have confirmed, waiting on the rest." Mr. Moran joked.
"Ready" Noah looked up from his book. Jake sighed.
"Noah, if we're getting codenames, you're getting one too." he said. Noah sighed.
"Okay, fine. I'll be Omega" he said. Mr. Moran gave a nod of approval.
"Very well, Omega" he confirmed, eyeing the two in the back. "Still missing two"
"This is gold leader, standing by" Gia spoke up from Jake's shoulder. Taking the hint, Jake spoke up after her.
"This is red leader, standing by." Jake stated, earning a laugh from the rest of the car. Mr. Moran pulled the car out of the driveway, and they were off.
"Okay, Alpha, Beta, Omega, Red Leader and Gold Leader, it'll be an hour before we get to the airport, so get some sleep now if you want." Mr Moran told the car of somewhat drowsy teens. Little did he know that everyone but Jake and Noah have already fallen asleep.
