Replying to RYJAN's comment:
Yes I have seen your group of wonderful suggestions for the story, and I plan on incorporating all of them into the story at some point. I apologize for not properly acknowledging your group of comments, I just have been very busy as of late. As for what you want to see most, of all goes according to plan, Gia and Emma will face some snappy beach goers in the next two or so chapters, and I plan on making that into an ongoing cliche throughout the story.
Any comments or suggestions you guys may have, I will incorporate all ideas and suggestions! If you have one, drop it in the comments!
Hope you all are enjoying so far!
"Find everything okay?" the clerk asked, as Gia placed down the two boxes of coffee grounds and three boxes of energy bars onto the checkout register.
"Piece of cake" Gia smiled to the clerk, drawing her wallet as the clerk rung up her items. While the clerk rang up the goods, she thought about her dream from last night, and wanted to break down:
"Jake!" Gia yelled, as Jake was nocked back by the monster. Jake flew through the air, and landed directly on top of her, knocking them both over. Slowly but surely, he got back to his feet and raised his axe.
"Your going down!" he taunted the monster, who only laughed.
"YOU RANGERS ARE PATHETIC! ONE STRIKE AND YOU'RE DOWN!" The monster yelled as Jake charged him again.
"Down, but not out." Jake boasted, swinging his axe wildly, hoping to land a hit. The monster simply swatted him, and, once again, he went flying back into Gia, who had only just gotten herself back onto her feet.
"You idiot!" Gia said, pushing him off her and helping him up. "We'll take him together."
"No, I'm taking him now. Stay back, you're not getting hurt." Jake said, picking up his axe.
"Jake I'm not gonna get…" Gia was interrupted at Jake charged the monster again, attacking wildly and recklessly. Gia sighed and stomped her foot. "Why do you never listen to me?"
"WEAK!" the monster yelled, striking Jake down. This time, Jake didn't get up. He rolled over, and powered down, clearly too weak to continue fighting.
"JAKE!" Gia charged the monster, and swung her Tiger Claw with so much force that it became imbedded in the monster's gut. The monster let out a loud cry of protest, as Gia slid under his legs, and to Jake's side.
"I...I'm sorry ba...babe." Jake said, extremely weakly. He began a fit of coughing, in which blood came out, and splattered onto Gia's ranger suit. She didn't care, though. Her boyfriend was dying in front of her eyes.
"You colossal idiot." she sobbed, hugging his body close to hers. She felt his heartbeat terminate, and she knew he was gone. She demorphed, and sobbed harder into his body, as her Tiger Claw landed on the ground next to her.
"Just know, had you surrendered, there could've been a different outcome!" the monster boasted, as Gia gave him the death glare. "You won't be so lucky next time."
"Ma'am? You alright there?" the clerk asked, snapping her back into the real world.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Sorry, I just have a lot on my mind." she said, sliding her debit card into the pinpad.
"You know, I don't know about you, but whenever I have a lot on my mind, I'm always on the beach. It's a great way to relax, and just forget about whatever it is you are thinking about." the clerk suggested, as he bagged the coffee and energy bars.
"My friends and I were planning on going there for a couple hours." Gia said, punching in her security code. "However, thanks to your advice, we may head over there earlier. Or stay longer." The clerck smiled.
"Glad to be of assistance." he said, handing her her grocery bag. "Have a nice day."
"Thanks, you too." Gia called back as she exited the store. Immediately, she was blinded by the sun. Thankful that she decided to bring her sunglasses, she lowered them over her eyes, and walked back to the hotel. She had thought that by going for a long run her mind would be cleared of the horrific dream she had had, but that turned out to be false. She remembered every detail so vividly, it was like it had actually happened no longer than a minute ago. Sighing, she decided not to mention her nightmare to Jake, or anyone for that matter, as not to ruin their vacation.
A few minutes later, Gia stepped into her and Jake's hotel room, and found Jake passed out on the bed. The TV was on, and the screen displayed the Black Ops II Multiplayer screen. She smiled, knowing Jake was probably just trying to clear his mind from worrying about her. After all, she did leave for a couple hours with nothing more than a short note for him. Walking into the kitchenette, she popped a coffee cartridge into the Keurig that their room came with, and put the rest on the counter next to the machine. She opened an energy bar, and began munching on it. She leaned back on the counter, and tried to get the dream out of her mind.
