Here it is! The beginning of Noah's love life for the story! Hope you enjoy!
"Noah, what do you think?"
"Hm?" Noah turned around to see Emma had taken an interest in a pink fedora. Running her hand along it's brim, she put it on her head, and looked to Noah, curious of what her friend thought of the choice.
"It looks nice" Noah started "but I'm not sure fedoras are your thing." Emma turned around to look in the mirror and sighed. She saw what Noah was saying: the hat didn't match her normal getup. In fact, it looked so out of place, it looked like she randomly grabbed it after being rushed out the door. She took off the hat and set it back on the rack.
"Maybe just a simple beach hat?" Troy asked her, gesturing over to the stand of beach hats. Emma laughed.
"Babe, if I can't make a fedora work, I sure as hell can't make a beach hat work." Emma stated.
"Beg to differ." Troy said as he took the beach hat with a pink ribbon, and placed it on Emma's head. Noah let out a whistle.
"Now that could work." he stated as Emma looked in the mirror at her newly acquired headgear.
"If this is going to work, I need a new beach-going getup" Emma stated, turning to the boys, who both had cheeky grins on their faces.
"Leave it to us." Troy stated. Almost an hour later, or what felt like an hour to Emma, the trio make their way to the checkout register of the surf shop. Emma had a whole new outfit picked out, and Troy and Noah were splitting the price for a fire and ice decorated surf board, claiming they both wanted to take up the sport. As they set their items on the table for the cashier to ring up, Noah froze. He haden't expected her to be here, in Florida, at all, let alone be the cashier at the moment he and his friends were shopping in the exact store.
"I'll wait outside for you guys." Noah stated, and handed Troy a handful of 20 bills. "For the surfboard" he said. As the cashier rang up the items, Troy pulled Noah aside.
"What's got you so worked up?" he asked the blue ranger.
"I'm not worked up" Noah whispered back.
"You're sweating"
"We're in Florida! It's nearly 95 degrees! Of course i'm sweating!"
"No, like, nervous sweating. Is it the cashier? Do you know her?" Upon Troy correctly guessing what made Noah nervous, he sighed, and nodded.
"Her name is Anneka. She goes to school with us in Harwood, and she has a summer job over here in Florida, which I guess we just found out what that job is." Noah summed up. Troy nodded.
"And...?" he prompted.
"And?"
"Why are you so worked up over her?"
"She's, well...she...she's kinda my...crush" Noah admitted. He looked up, and saw Troy smiling. "What?"
"So you do like someone?" He asked. Noah sighed.
"Yes"
"So ask her out."
"Now?"
"No, you big doof, tomorrow night. Yes now!"
"I...can't"
"Dude, I thought you liked her."
"I do! She's just...not in my league." Noah looked down.
"Bull"
"Huh?" Noah looked back up at Troy.
"I said bull. Who cares if she's in your league or not? She might really be into you as well, and you'll never know if you don't ask her out! At least talk to her while paying your part for the board." Troy advised. Noah nodded.
"I guess it wouldn't hurt." he said, as the two of them walked up to the register. Noah still felt very nervous, but he felt a little better knowing Troy was next to him.
"Just the surfboard?" Anneka asked as Troy pulled out his wallet.
"That's all" Troy confirmed. Anneka rang up the board and turned the register around to them.
"That'll be 102.96" she stated.
"Alright. Noah, what's the damage?" Troy asked. Upon hearing his name, Anneka perked up a bit, but brushed off her feeling, knowing full well it was probably another Noah.
"51.48 each" Noah stated. A smile made its way across Anneka's mouth. It was Noah. The guy she fell head-over-heels for last year. As the two handed Anneka the money, she smiled at Noah.
"Funny seeing you here, Carver." She said simply as Noah turned a bit red.
"Yeah…" Noah scratched the back of his head. "My friends and I are on vacation here until August 3rd"
"Lucky" Anneka muttered. "I'm stuck here until school starts up again."
"So this is where you take off to every summer?" Noah asked, gaining confidence.
"Basically, yeah." Anneka nodded. She finished ringing him up, but before he left, she attached a sticky note to the receipt. Noah looked at it, confused. "That's my number" Anneka summed up. "I'm stuck in here for the rest of the day, but i'm free tomorrow if you want to hang out or something?" Noah couldn't believe his luck: his crush was asking him out.
"Yeah." Noah responded. "Sounds like fun." Anneka smiled.
"It's a date"
