In light of recent events, that I am so damn late for, we're doing this! A quick little skit that has absolutely no bearing on the actual story, but I'm doing anyway. And I know it may interrupt the flow, but I did ir with other stories on here and it worked out. Besides I might as well date myself here, right?

The world as they knew it had ended, though not the way anyone had expected. For most thought the end would be a villain, the likes even All Might couldn't beat. For the small few they thought it'd be two universes crashing into one another and wiping out virtually everything in the process. However no one would have thought a pandemic to be the be-all-end-all.

Yet here they were, all of Japan and the outside world shut down by this deadly new virus that's made itself known to the world as mercilessly as possible. And as such, everyone has been made to stay inside or avoid as many people as possible who they did not know the health of. Additionally those in public had to wear masks, as it would better ensure everyone's safety. Of course some heroes already wore masks, so there was nothing of much change there. If they didn't count the curfew, limits on how many people can be in an area at a time, the new extremes of germaphobia.

By a collaborative count it had been about forty or fifty days since all of U.A had been put under lockdown, leaving the entire population of Height Alliance, the dorms, to their devices. They were free to walk from dormitory to dormitory if they wished, it just wasn't encouarged.

And with that, 1-A was caught between a rock and a hard place. Especially considering very few of them could be considered immune to it or were hard pressed to get sick, mainly Peter Gwen and Tsuyu, thanks to one's Frog mutation, one's healing factor and one's mask acting like a vacuum seal. Not to mention some of Class 1-B. It was a system strung together for the three if they wanted something off campus, to send one of the three out--with protection of course--to get whatever. This would be the case about now, seeing as it was Peter's turn to go out. Which worked for him, since it gave him an opportunity to put a thesis on his new abilities into practice.

Which probably explained the cable and internet going out all of a sudden, about an hour after he left.

And that left Bakugo, racked in confusion on the couch of the commons room as the screen of the flat-screen broke out into static.

"What the hell?!" He cursed under his breath with gritted teeth, hitting the channel button up and down as he stared on. Nothing. "The hell?!"

"Alright what're you about to throw a fit over this time?" Gwen's voice filled his ears as she walked through with 1-B's Kamala Khan, holding a cup of Ramen that counted as her lunch and late breakfast. Her hair a mess, indicating she just got out of bed and her T-shirt and sweatpants sloppily put on.

"And what are you doing?" Kamala asked further as her gaze shifted to the pink skinned Acid Spitter that laid across side recliner, phone in hand.

Incidentally Mina was working up the courage to send a text to Peter, and had been doing so for the past few minutes as a way to confess how she felt about him. After the training camp, she hadn't gotten a chance to say it. So hopefully this message could do her emotions justice.

"Whaddaya think, Limp Bone?! I was tryin' to check the news and then I got static!" Not entirely true, as he wasn't watching the news at all.

And it was really out of character too.

"Why aren't you with Izuku and the guys then? Aren't they doing something productive?" Gwen questioned monotonously.

Izuku and the guys, which were just him, Todoroki, Kirishima and Iida, were in the school Gym working the best they could to train their bodies and their Quirks. And it was something Katsuki would rather be caught dead than doing with them.

"The hell would I be with those shits for?" The explosive blonde groaned softly, nearly blowing the remote in his hand.

"Oh c'mon!" Both blondes turned to Ashido, cursing as she stared sown at her phone. Her message wouldn't go through since the WiFi went out. Just her luck. "Why does stuff like this keep happening..." She mumbled, nearly on the verge of crying.

"Okay, so the internet's out for everyone. That's nice." Gwen spoke dryly, vaulting over the couch to take her seat beside Bakugo. "What a predicament...What's there to do..." She thought out loud while cupping her chin in her fingers. "Any ideas, Mina?"

The girl in question however wouldn't answer, slumped over in her chair while holding her phone close to her chest in dismay.

"Alright then. Kamala?" The female arachnid pressed forward as she looked up, only to get a shake of the head.

"How about Uno?" A fifth voice filled the room, causing the Pakistani young girl and only the Pakistani young girl to look her way. It was the esteemed young inventor Peni Parker, an Uno card pack in hand.

"Uno?" Gwen tilted her head with the same stoic expression. "How are we gonna play that?" She questioned. Much to the 1-H student's confusion.

"What are you talking about? Of course we can!" The black haired tsundere assured. "Don't you know how to play?"

"Yeah, of course I do. I just don't have it." the blonde in question retorted, making both fellow foreign students just as confused, if not more so.

"You're joking." The Parker huffed. "Gwen, you got it for free for showing up to set for that upcoming Arachnidemia movie. Everyone got one for showing up!"

"Isn't that shitfest supposed to be non-canon?" Bakugo questioned with a raised brow, glancing over at her.

"It doesn't matter! You should have it!"

"Either way I never got one." Gwen chimed back in while lifting her feet up to rest on the table in front of her.

"Either way you don't need one! I have a pack right here!" Peni groaned out while gesturing to the pack in hand, easily getting worked up.

"A pack of what?"

"UNO, YOU TROGLODITE!"

"That's nice, but how's that gonna fix the problem? We don't have the cards." Bakugo shrugged. At this point the two was just messing with the shorty. And of course it was working.

"The cards...are in...the pack. It doesn't have to be empty you walking piece of combustible shit!" She spat with venom in her voice.

"Well we still don't have Uno." Gwen egged her on.

And it was the straw that broke a fragile camel's back.

"WE HAVE UNO! YOU FUCKING PRICKS!" Peni's volume skyrocketed in a fit of short tempered rage, jumping on the side of the couch to scream in the arachnid's face. Perhaps if her host family didn't constantly scream at each other to communicate she would have flinched.

"That's sweet. Maybe a few more octaves."

"Mina please!" The exchange student swung her head around to the pink haired hero-in-training sprawled over the recliner. "I don't care if you're going through a character arc after the training camp arc, get up and help us out!"

"I...Think I'm gonna keel over and die..." Was her only response, curling up in her chair.

"Hey, if you want we can play a round of Uno to cheer ya up." Gwen spoke, setting her feet down from the coffee table.

"ARE YOU SHITTING ME?!"

AUTHORS NOTES!

I should have let this sit in the oven a bit longer, being that this is so short and random. But I think that now's a better time than anything. As of recent the actor of T'Challa/Black Panther has left us after losing his battle against cancer, shaking both this universe and the universe of heroes. Chadwick Boseman's death hit us all and I feel if I post this, and people see it and get a laugh out of it then I will have considered this a success.

But this isn't just about the short, no. As of now I'm nearing the end of writing the first chapter of a spin off series, focusing on characters from the MCU on their journeys in a new world. It'll likely be out before the next chapter of this story, And I hope that we can get at least two chapters out by the end of September. Maybe more, I have been dabbling with One-shot ideas.

Overall I've been trying to take a break from the writing so I don't get burnt out and abandon the whole thing like I've done with other projects. This really challenged my skills, and I just all around love bringing some of these impossible scenarios into fruición. And I look forward to making some of you gasp, laugh and cry.

Thank you for reading, staying with me for almost a year and a half, and lastly stay safe. Wakanda Forever.
