Miracles of the Creek
Chapter 4: The Golden Brick Road
When the three jumped into the portal, they ended up finding themselves in a blue energy flow. And, as you can imagine, after a while, it was getting bored and tiring.
"How… much… more… are… we… going… to… stay… here?" asked Sárkány, with her face shaking due the intense energy and velocity of the stream. Bug Boy grabbed his yo-yo so that he could see what it was indicating.
"According… to… my… yo-yo… it… will… take… a few… more…" said the map boy, not being able of finishing the sentence, thanks to three meeting a blinding light. They closed their eyes.
Meanwhile, in another dimension, a blue portal appeared. The trio ended up being expelled by this portal, falling face down.
"… seconds" said Bug Boy, with his face still in the ground, and feeling pain due the way they arrived at the place. After a while, they got up and started to look at the surrounding.
They got see trees, exotic animals, a place entirely built by emeralds at the distance, and they were stepping the a road made of golden bricks.
"Wow, this place is awesome!" said J-Ape, amazed by all of the colors and animals he only saw in coloring books and on TV.
"Yeah, we are definitely not in the Creek anymore" said the map boy, feeling more surprised than amazed.
"Oh my Dragons! This place is just like the world of Zoz!" said Sárkány, excited about the place they were located.
"Zoz?" asked Bug Boy, a little bit confused by the sudden name his friend said.
"Isn't it that weird old movie that people watch?" asked the older boy.
"It was a book first, JP. The Magician of Zoz is a story about a girl with golden slippers and her cat going into an adventure in another dimension after a hurricane brings her house into somewhere else" answered the knight girl, talking about the plot of the book she liked. Plot that reminded her of the situation they found themselves in.
"There, she meets some characters, walk in a road made of silver bricks and defeats a cruel witch! We can try to find a witch, defeat her and become legends!" said Sárkány, with a determined look in her face, ready to become a hero.
"Kelsey, we need to take care of the multiverse situation first, remember?" asked Bug Boy, bringing his friend back to reality.
"What, but…" said the knight girl, stopping for a few seconds to breath and try to focus on the mission.
"Alright, let's get this over with" said Sárkány, focusing and entering her warrior mode.
The Map Boy grabbed his yo-yo to look at the instructions. He was surprised with something he wasn't expecting.
"The yo-yo is saying that the keystone is in one side of the road and the foundation element is in the other side" said Bug Boy, thinking about what they should do.
"I think it will be better if we split up. I will go after the foundation element, in case we met an akumatized villain, since I am the only one that can purify, and you guys go after the keystone" said the Map Boy.
"But what if we end up needing help?" asked the Knight Girl.
"In that case we can use our weapons to contact each other. When we grab them, we will meet at the arrival point," said Bug Boy.
The three put one hand on top of the other and screamed "Stump Kids!" before splitting up and continuing their plan.
Meanwhile, Moth King and Lord Vortech were discussing their next stop on the multiverse.
"So, the Miracle Box will stay out of our hands for a while, what should we go after at this moment?" asked Lord Vortech, seeing his ally's multiversal map.
"Well, this time, I think it would be wise to go after the Ruby Slippers from Oz. It's the closest dimension from ours at the moment" answered Xavier.
"Good idea, Moth King, time for a new akuma" said Lord Vortech.
"As you wish, Lord Vortech" Moth King said, grabbing a butterfly and turning it into an akuma.
"Let's see, who has potential to become the next villain" said Xavier, taking a look at the akuma class. At that moment, he noticed a boy with headphones that seemed to be about to cry.
"Perfect!" said Moth King, sending the akuma after him. The akuma was pretty discreet, so, no one noticed it on the right time.
"Nino, watch out!" said Alya, noticing too late about what was about to happen to her boyfriend. When the akuma entered on his glasses, a purple energy covered him and, when it dissipated, a blue villain appeared on his place.
"Well, Rocketear, your mission is simple: go to this Oz place and grab this Ruby Slippers, understood?" asked Moth King.
"Yes" said Rocketear. He was released of the prison after his akumatization and started to approach a new portal that. Before he did that, however, Xavier remembered something important.
"Oh, and, before you go, bring one of this smelly Creek kids with you as a hostage. That Craig is sensitive, he won't want his precious friends to get hurt" said King Moth, remembering about the new trick the Villain Trio had.
Rocketear walked away from the portal and started to approach the Creek Kids. They started to get worried about what was going to happen, but, with her leader instincts, Sewer Queen wasn't going to let that happen.
"We won't let you do anything to us!" said Sewer Queen, putting herself in front of the other kids to protect them.
"Well, if that's the case, you are the hostage then!" said Rocketear, grabbing the ruler of the sewers. The other kids tried to help, but they were pushed away, and watched that villain take the Sewer Queen away, being unable to help with the bars of dimensional cage.
Back at Oz, Bug Boy was in complete agony. It was not because of how long the road was, not because of how hot it was, not even because of how colorful the world was. It was because…
"I am on one of the most exotic places in the multiverse and I don't have paper or markers to map it!" said the Map Boy, annoyed but being unable of making a map of this wonderful land.
"Just wish this yo-yo could work as a map" said Bug Boy, a little bit disappointed. However, suddenly, as soon as he said that, the yo-yo started glowing red. When it stopped, the old screen that only said the directions he should go was replaced by a full map. On the top of the map, it was written: 'The Wonderful World of Oz'.
"This is fantastic!" said the Map Boy, excited about his discover. His mind was filled with ideas of what to do with this new ability of the yo-yo. He didn't have enough time to finish thinking about all that he could do, because he was interrupted by a noise.
"We are going to see the Wizard, the wonderful Wizard of Oz…" said a bunch of voices in the distance.
"Is this… singing?" asked Bug Boy, walking faster so that he could approach these mysterious singers. Soon, he ended up being able of seeing a group formed by four living beings.
"Is that a girl, a scarecrow, a tin man and a lion?" asked the Map Boy, extremely confused by the sight. After a more attentive look, however, he noticed the shoes of the girl were glowing.
His yo-yo started to make an alarm noise. He did it. He found the foundation element of this dimension.
"Hey! Over here!" said Bug Boy, trying to get the group's attention. It seemed to have worked.
"Look, another one to join us on our journey!" said Dorothy, excited in a possible new member of the group.
"What could he be missing?" asked the girl, already trying to think about what the boy could want from the wizard.
"Maybe a good sense of fashion" said the man made of tin, on a mocking tone. He was missing a heart, which made him lack empathy and feelings.
"Oh my! You really are heartless!" said Dorothy, thinking that the action of her friend was cruel.
Suddenly, however, a blue portal appeared behind the group. The Map Boy started to run even faster, because he knew what it meant.
"Watch out!" said Bug Boy at the distance, trying to say anything that could make the four react and run away from that portal.
"Oh no! Not another tornado!" said the girl with the ruby slippers, being absorbed with her friends by the portal. The lion at her side screamed out of fear.
"Wait!" the Map Boy screamed, running as fast as he could. When he arrived at a point that was close enough to the portal, he threw his yo-yo at the portal, trying to grab at least the girl so that her slipper's didn't end up on Lord Vortech's hands.
It seemed like indeed he had grabbed something, so he tried to pull whatever he grabbed out of the portal. However, it seemed a little bit too heavy for a 12 year-old-girl.
Bug Boy, however, didn't stop to think about it. He was too focused on trying to grab those slippers. After a while, he did manage to pull something away of the portal. But, it was not what he was expecting…
"Well, well, well. Look if it isn't the Ladybug holder" said the Cyan man that was pulled out the portal.
"An akuma!" said the Map Boy, spinning his yo-yo and preparing to attack.
"If I were you, I would give up, unless you want to feel the power of my sadness!" said Rocktear in a threating tone.
"Never! I will never give up!" said Bug Boy, still not changing his decision. The Cyan man smirked.
"Oh, really? Then what if I show her my power?" asked Rocktear, using one of his hands to pull someone else out of the portal.
"Cartographer!" said Sewer Queen, being grabbed by the Cyan Man.
"Sewer Queen!" said the Map Boy, quickly wrapping his yo-yo around the arm that the villain was using to keep his friend hostage.
"Let her go!" screamed Bug Boy, trying to make him let her go. It didn't work, however, since the akuma ended up being stronger.
Rocktear took his chance, put his glasses in his forehead, grabbed three tears with his finger and threw them at the boy's direction. Two of them ended up missing, but one, however, ended up falling incredibly close to the point Bug Boy was standing one, causing a explosion.
The Map Boy ended up being thrown away, and ended up freeing the villains arms, and falling in the ground.
"I am not going to give up! Lucky Charm!" Bug Boy scream, activating his power. When the magical ladybugs disappeared, a paint stray appeared.
"A paint spray? Seriously, Tikki? We will have a serious talk later" said the Map Boy, being unable of thinking how this could be useful.
"Paint, seriously? How do you think you can defeat me with that? If I were you, I would just give up," said Rocktear, mocking the boy.
At that moment, the Map Boy had an idea when he noticed that the glasses were still on his forehead. He faked sighing and started to walk, acting like he had given up.
"Good boy" said Rocktear, believing that Bug Boy was indeed going to give up. Sewer Queen was surprised by that. Bug Boy had finally arrived at a spot that was close enough to the villain.
"I am sorry, but it's what I need to do" said the Map Boy. Suddenly, however, he sprayed the paint in the eye of the villain.
"Argh!" screamed Rocktear, feeling a large amount of pain. He ended up letting Sewer Queen go so that he could use his hands to try to take the paint out.
"You little brat!" screamed the cyan villain. In the end, the plan had backfired, thanks to the state of his eyes, more tears were being produced. Rocktear started using them like a machine gun.
"Run!" screamed Bug Boy, using his yo-yo to take them both away from the attack. The two ended up hiding behind a tree on a nearby forest.
"Hope JP and Kelsey are with more luck" said the Map Boy, trying to imagine what they could be doing a the moment.
Meanwhile, J-Ape and Sárkány seemed to be doing fine, they were talking about something they had gone through during their walk.
"Wow, who knew flowers could be so tiring" said the older boy, thinking about the red flowers they had seen before.
"They are poppies, JP. They make you feel asleep" said the knight girl, explaining something to her friend. On a earlies point, the two end up finding poppies that made them feel a little bit more tired. Thanks to the magic of the miraculouses, though, they didn't immediately fall asleep.
"Well, they should learn some jokes. Maybe this way they would stop leaving everyone bored" said J-Ape, being unable to think about any other reason to why the flowers mad someone fall asleep besides being boring.
Before Sárkány could properly explain how it actually worked, however, the two ended up seeing the keystone ahead of them.
"The keystone!" said the knight girl, surprised by the sight.
"We found it!" said the older boy, extremely excited about it. The two started to run into the object's direction. It ended up being a lot easy than expected. That's what they thought at least.
Because they didn't know that a witch nearby was just flying into their direction, celebrating her rival's defeat.
"Now that the two-goodie shoes is gone, all of Oz is mine! So long, Dorothy! So long!" said the Wicked Witch, laughing like a mad woman.
As she kept flying with her army of flying monkeys, she ended up seeing the keystone in the ground and the two kids running after it.
"What's that? Something magical? It looks so pretty! It feels so powerful! They can't have it!" said the witch.
"Wait, is that a witch?" asked the older boy, surprised by seeing a mystical creature so close.
"Yes! Finally, after years dreaming of it, I can finally face a real witch!" said the knight girl, excited.
"It seems like she wants the key thing" said the older boy, seeing that she was approaching it.
"Then she will have to go through us first!" said Sárkány, preparing for battle.
"Get away from my property! Whatever it is" said the Wicked Witch, approaching the object even more quickly.
In a matter of seconds, the area was surrounded by the witch's monkey and a green fire. Luckilly, the two kids were able of surrounding the keystone, but they would need to defeat this witch first so that they could leave.
"JP, protect the keystone! I will fight the witch!" said the knight girl, with eyes full of fury. She used her sword to drive away the monkeys and reach the witch.
The older boy wanted to say something, but he quickly returned to his duty when he noticed one monkey trying to grab the keystone. He used his staff to send him flying away.
Sárkány, didn't notice it, but she was floating. After a while, she was able of being face to face with the witch.
"I am going to show you the power of a dragon. Lightning Dragon!" said the knight girl, turning into electricity. She tried attacking the witch on her front, but she created a green magic barrier between them.
Then, Sárkány tried to attack her from the right, but it also didn't work. She also tried from behind, the left, up and down, but still no effect.
"If that's how it's going to be, you will meet the fury of my sword!" screamed the knight girl, focusing energy on her sword and aiming it at the witch.
"I summon scarlet chains to stop my enemy from moving!" said the Wicked Witch, creating red magical chains, wrapping them around Sárkány.
"I… can't… move…" said the knight girl, struggling to talk. She tried to use her elemental powers, but they weren't working.
Meanwhile, J-Ape wasn't struggling fighting against the monkeys. One had approached and the older kid wrapped his staff around his tail to send him away.
Then, other two came from behind and J-Ape attacked both at once, also sending them away. But, he ended up seeing his friend was struggling against the witch.
"Kelsey!" said J-Ape, leaving his duty to help his friend. He ended up using the monkeys as stairs, stepping on their heads, so that he could get close enough to the witch.
"Uproar!" the older kid said, creating a plastic dinosaur toy. He threw it at the witch's direction. When he did, the scarlet chains turned into fireflies, and Sárkány was released.
J-Ape quickly saved the knight girl from falling on the ground, since she still was slightly weakened by the chains.
"You stupid little kids! Now, the shiny object is mine!" said the Wicked Witch. The two kids looked up and saw that one of the monkeys was able of grabbing the keystone.
"No!" said J-Ape.
"The Keystone!" Sárkány completed.
"Away, my pretties. Away!" said the Wicked Witch, commanding her army of monkeys to return to their lair.
Back with Bug Boy and Sewer Queen, they were trying to think about a way of defeating him. Which was not being easy.
"Okay, we need to grab his glasses, but for that, we would need to get through the tears" said the Map Boy, trying to think about a plan.
"For that, we would need a species of protection so that the tears couldn't hurt us" said Sewer Queen, also trying to think about something. When she said that, Bug Boy had an idea.
The map boy grabbed his yo-yo and opened. He put his hand inside of it and pulled something out of it. It was a green turtle-themed watchband.
"Sewer Queen, representative of the Sewer Kids and the water, I have the honor of offering you the miraculous of the turtle. It gives you the power of protection. With the help of your shield, you can use your power 'Shelter' to create energy shields. Can I trust you to help me save the creek and the multiverse?" asked Bug Boy.
"You can count on me, cartographer" said the ruler of the sewer kids, putting the watchband on her wrist. Once she did, a green small creature ended up appearing.
"Hello, I am Wayzz, the kwami of protection," said the green creature.
"Hello, fellow aquatic creature. Pleased to meet you" said Sewer Queen.
"Wayzz is your kwami. He is going to help you transform and use your powers" said Bug Boy, explaining a little bit more to her.
"All you need to say is 'Wayzz, shell on' and 'Wayzz, shell off' to transform back" said the kwami of protection.
"Wayzz, shell on!" said the leader of the sewer kids, starting her transformation. A green light covered her. Once it dissipated, Sewer Queen was now using a shield as a hat, a green outfit and a bun instead of her long and loose hair.
"What we need to do now?" asked the leader of the sewer kids.
"Okay, now you need to create a shield around me when I jump and make it disappear when I get close enough to the villain" said Bug Boy. His friend nodded.
The Map Boy jumped from the bushes in the villains direction, prepared to grab the glasses.
"Hey, cyan guy, I am here!" said Bug Boy, dragging the villains attention. He turned to look at the enemy, but, before his tears could hurt him…
"Shelter!" screamed the leader of the sewer kids, covering her friend in a protective shield. With the magical shelter, Bug Boy was able of going through the tears, finaly getting close enough to the villain.
"Now!" the Map Boy screamed when he arrived at the precise spot. Sewer Queen quickly made the shelter disappear. Bug Boy took his chance, grabbed the glasses, crushed it with his hand and landed behind the villain. The akuma ended up being released and Nino returned to normal.
"Your days of being evil are counted akuma" said the Map boy, opening his yo-yo. He ended up capturing the akuma and purifying it.
"Bye, little bug" said Bug Boy, releasing the purified butterfly. Then, he grabbed the spray paint that his power had created.
"Miraculous, Bug Boy!" screamed the Map Boy, using his powers to fix all of the damages from the fight, the main thing being the parts of the road that were destroyed.
However, while he was busy doing all of this, another blue portal appeared and absorbed the teen the two had just saved.
"I am starting to wonder where this people go after we defeat them" said Bug Boy, starting to question what happened to the villains after the battle. Sewer Queen left their hiding place and approached the boy.
"I will explain it along the way" said the ruler of the sewer kids. The map boy nodded, and both started to walk back to the meeting point.
"So, you are telling me that all of you guys have been put into this dimensional jail? This is awful!" said Bug Boy, finally learning the situation of the akuma victims and the creek kids.
"Indeed, a tragedy" said the leader of the sewer kids, on her usual respectful tone. As they kept walking, they eventually ended up seeing Kelsey and JP.
"Kelsey! JP!" screamed the map boy, relieved that his friends were okay, running so that he could hug them.
"Craig!" the two screamed the two, also running so that they could meet him sooner. Once they all did it, they gave a big and strong triple hug.
"I am relieved to see you two are okay" said the map boy, happy that his friends seemed to be fine.
"So, did you manage to save the foundation element?" asked the knight girl, trying to postpone the question about what happened to the keystone. Her friend sighed.
"No, Lord Vortech got there first. But look who I found!" said Bug Boy, pointing to the girl he had just recued.
"Hello, land-dwellers" said Sewer Queen, once again on her usual polite tone.
"Sewer Queen!" said the two other children, happy with the surprise.
"I think it's Shell Queen from now on" said Shell Queen, finally giving herself a new name.
"This weird akuma appeared and he was keeping her as a hostage. I gave her the turtle and we defeated him" said the Map Boy.
"And the keystone?" asked Bug Boy, curious about their friend's search, just like they were about his.
"Well…" Sarkany started, trying to think about the best way possible to tell him that.
"A witch appeared out of nowhere and stole it" said J-Ape, telling the whole truth on the shortest way possible.
"JP!" said the knight girl, reprimanding her friend for telling the truth like this.
"A witch?" asked Bug Boy, confused, and surprised by the statement.
"Yeah, she was green, had a big nose and…" said Sarkany, starting to describe her.
"And she had an army of flying monkeys!" said J-Ape finishing the description of the witch. They knew that the description made the situation seem impossible.
"She ended up flying somewhere else with the keystone" said the knight girl, finishing the story.
The Map Boy grabbed his yo-yo and opened the map function, trying to see where the keystone was. He quickly found it. It was on a place called 'Witch's Dungeon'.
"If she is with the keystone, we are going to grab it from her!" said Bug Boy, with a determined tone. This witch might be powerful, but she is no match to four of the creek kids with powerful miraculouses to help them.
A lot to say about this chapter. First, the yo-yo map mode. Ladybug's yo-yo can work as a cellphone, camera, and a lot of other smartphone functions. Then, why doesn't it have a map to track akumas? That's why I used Craig's love for maps to update the yo-yo with a function that's going to be really useful in the future. As for the fight against Rocktear, I was inspired by the battle Ladybee had against Style Queen in Optigami. Hope you guys enjoyed this chapter.
