I don't own Percy Jackson and the Olympians or any of the characters pertaining to it.
3rd POV
In a little apartment complex in the Manhattan area you could not hear anything out of place. One would never think there was anything out of the ordinary happening in any of the buildings. Yet through the silence of the night came a cry of both pain and sorrow, anger and desperateness. It was a cry like no other but one thing anybody could decipher from it was that it was an unpleasant cry of a young woman. But as quickly as the cry was voiced it was muffled. Nobody heard the scream of the woman and thus, nobody came to her aid.
Inside the apartment it reeked of alcohol and moldy pizza. You could also see water spilled on the floor, like someone ran from the faucet without caring for the water at all. But in the bedroom was where the 3 who lived in the apartment currently were. You could see the woman who looked to be about 30 years old. She had brown hair that fell down to her shoulders but it looked matted like it had been pulled at for some time. Her pace was red and puffy because of the man in the room. The man looked almost 40 years old and had 3 hairs sticking out the top of his otherwise bald head. He was extremely fat and looked like a human walrus hybrid. He was standing over the woman with an empty beer bottle in his right hand looking red in the face and extremely drunk.
"You stupid bitch!" The man roared angrily as he kicked the woman in her side. "You just had to be the bitch that you are and interrupt with my fun. I'll show you what happens when you mess with me."
"No, Gabe, stop. Don't hurt mommy, she didn't do anything please." This came from a child on the floor that looked no more than 6 years old. He had jet black, messy hair that looked like it had not been washed in forever. He had striking sea green eyes that looked into Gabe's eyes pleadingly, begging him to stop hurting his mother. With both his hair and eyes he made a unique character but the thing that would catch anyone's eyes the most would be the scars that littered his entire body from his chest to his legs but the scars never touched anywhere that would not be covered by long sleeve shirts and long pants.
"I'd suggest you stay out of this punk, you don't want to get yourself hurt along with your mother now would you?" Gabe taunted the boy, barely turning to face him, never taking his eyes off the boy's mother.
"Please Perseus stay out of this. For both of our sakes." The woman looked at the boy, now Perseus as she said this with pleading obviously in her voice.
"No mommy, I can't let you get hurt." Perseus said this with so much care and hurt in his voice.
"Oh and what are you gonna do about it punk? Huh? Nothing, I can do whatever I want with your mother and you can't stop me, you bastard now go cry in the corner somewhere, your mom has been a very bad girl and it's time for her to be punished. Now what should your punishment be Sally? Don't go silent on me now, come on." After Gabe said this Sally got a look of terror on her face. She closed her eyes and muttered a quick prayer hoping to chaos that the god would receive her message. A few seconds after Sally said the prayer the amount of water in the atmosphere increased and Sally could smell the familiar scent of the sea, easing her worries slightly, knowing her son would be okay with his father watching over him.
All of a sudden Perseus felt much better and more powerful. He didn't know why but he suddenly felt the courage to stand up to Gabe feeling like he would be protected for whatever reason. "No, stop Gabe. Please stop this, don't hurt her." Perseus said this with confidence that surprised even him.
All of a sudden Gabe felt pretty uncomfortable for a reason he could not pinpoint. He felt like he wasn't in control anymore but that someone else was. "One more step punk and your mother won't even be able to feel pain. Got it?" Gabe sounded almost scared as he said this but he was speaking the truth that he would end the woman's life if Perseus got any closer. He gave off an aura of power and intimidation that Gabe did not fail to pick up on.
When Perseus heard this threat his confidence left him when he considered that Gabe could end his mothers life with the bottle in his hand. "No, you wouldn't, please no don't kill her." Perseus now found himself pleading with Gabe, the confidence he felt earlier completely vanished.
"Do you wanna try me punk? You think I can't do it? I will." Gabe's previous confidence had returned to him when he saw the boy on the floor again. Gabe started to move his Walrus legs and began closing in on Perseus with the clear objective to at least knock him out, if not worse. Just as Gabe was standing over Perseus and raising his bottle he was shoved by an injured Sally who picked up her son and put him behind her to protect him.
"Poseidon, I'm not asking you to save me but I swear to you upon the river styx if you do not protect our son from this pig you left us with I will find my way out of the underworld just to get to you and immortal or not I will make your day a very painful one." Sally muttered this under her breath though Poseidon definitely heard it, even from his palace in the ocean as water seemed to become more abundant.
"Stupid Bitch, i'll kill you for that." Gabe got off the ground very pathetically but intimidatingly to the two others in the room. Gabe then ran slowly at Sally with his bottle raised but Sally could not dodge her 'husbands' attack with the knowledge that it may hurt her son. Sally accepted her fate as the bottle which was like a knife entered her heart, ending her life.
When Perseus saw his mothers frame fall to the floor something inside of him just broke and the floodgates were open.
Perseus felt the power he felt before but increased tenfold this time and could feel all the water on the floor in the air and in both their bodies. Perseus wanted his mother back, he wanted to feel safe but right now neither of those were possible so he settled for the next best option, seeing Gabe dead just like he sees his mother right now. Perseus somehow knew the water around him wanted to bend to his will, and he used it. Perseus reached for the blood in Gabe's body and lifted him off the ground like a rag doll. Gabe looked the child in the eyes and for the first time Gabe's eyes held pure, unbridled fear in them. Perseus looked at Gabe and the child faltered. Gabe was a brutal sadistic person but nobody deserved death that way. Perseus looked not at Gabe, but himself. He didn't want to be a killer at this age, Gabe always told him he was "not normal" and a "disgrace" and Perseus did not agree with him, until now. No normal person could control water and command the blood in a person's veins. As Perseus was musing to himself Gabe had finally gotten his ass off the ground and began to walk towards Perseus.
"I don't know how you did that squirt, but I sure as hell won't let it happen again." Gabe mumbled drunkenly to Perseus. Apparently throwing a drunk person in the air did not help with the dreariness.
Perseus thought that after he held Gabe in the air Gabe wouldn't try to kill him so quickly but it was a foolish assumption, after all Gabe had taken his mothers life without a second thought, why would he get any other treatment? When Gabe started drawing closer Perseus began to panic and try to call on his power again but he was too scared to concentrate on what he was trying to do and ended up not being able to summon his power. Gabe pulled his fist back and Perseus waited for Gabe's fist to collide with his face but he felt a sudden rush of cold air and the contact never happened. When Perseus opened his eyes he expected to see Gabe on the floor from alcohol or something but what he definitely did not expect was to see an ice sculpture in the shape of his step-father.
"Ah he would make a good one to add to my collection, wouldn't he? I think I'll call him "the poker player". But down to business, are you okay child? I saw what you did to that man and I am quite happy he is no longer in this world." The woman who said this had a soothing voice and looked at Perseus with concern in her eyes, though Perseus didn't know why she cared so much. She had black hair that went down a little than her shoulders and striking light blue eyes. She wore blue robes that looked like they were tailored in the time of the Greek Empire.
"Who are you, what do you want with me and how did you do that?" Perseus asked in a nervous voice.
"My name is Khione young one but there is more to me than meets the eye. I simply want to help you. I saw your display of power, controlling your step-fathers blood. It was very entertaining, might I say. As for how I did that, I believe we have some explaining to do." And with that Khione leaped into the tale of how the Greek myths were actually real and that Perseus's mother put up with Gabe to protect him.
"So just to recap, all the Greek myths like that of Heracles and Achilles are actually real and living in America, I am the son of one of the gods, specifically Poseidon who left my mother and I to live with that freak and your the greek goddess of snow and ice? Just want to make sure I'm getting all of this." Khione nodded her head in affirmation to all the Perseus just said. "So why did you tell me this? I remember mom used to tell me those stories and everyone always helped when they wanted something in return."
"You are a perceptive one Perseus, I could mistake you for Athena's child which is ironic considering how much she hates your father. But yes of course I want to gain something out of this beside another addition to my ice sculpture collection. But before I tell you what that is I have an offer for you. I know this is sudden but I was wondering if you wanted to come to my palace with me. It gets boring there and I feel like I could use some company." Khione said this with a tone that almost challenged Perseus to refuse her offer but he held firm.
"You want something out of this I know, what is it?" Perseus was now very scared that this person, no goddess, could be much worse than Gabe ever was.
"Okay Perseus you got me. I'll come clean, I actually wanted to raise you as my son." This statement shocked Perseus to the core. 'Why would this goddess want to raise someone like me? I'm just a little demigod.' Khione saw Perseus's confused expression and decided to explain herself, "you see Perseus I have been neglected by the olympians and my family for a long time, since I was actually born. I was just excluded from everything they were ever in. My father and brothers don't really feel that much like family and I wanted someone to raise and train to be powerful while caring for them. I chose you because you are the son of Poseidon which automatically makes you very powerful, even more so than his other children given he has not had one in a long time because of an oath he swore. And the other reason is that I was Poseidon's lover once and if there is one person who I think he would trust his child with, it would be me." When Khione finished her lengthy explanation she looked at Perseus who seemed to believe her now after she explained.
"But how do I know that you're telling me the truth? You may take me and hurt me just like Gabe did." Perseus seemed truly frightened by anybody possibly treating him like Gabe did.
"I would never treat you like that monster did Perseus but just to bind it I swear to you upon the river Styx and upon my life and immortality that I will never treat you poorly like, I will try my hardest to keep you safe and train you. I may be able to get you my family's blessing as well as mine, Perseus, I swear I will care for you." Khione sounded so sincere with her words and Perseus found himself hard pressed not to believe her.
"Okay, I agree to come with you as long as it will be safe where we are going." When Perseus said this a smile was plastered upon Khione's face until she seemed to think of something.
"Okay I'm so glad you agreed with Perseus but the place I live in is in Canada, in an icy palace and It would be incredibly difficult for you not to freeze solid there. But if I'm going to raise you as a son I'm pretty sure I need to adopt you first. When an immortal adopts someone they have the choice of giving the one who they are adopting their powers and I want to do that to you. This means that you would be able to survive in the palace without even feeling the cold along with many other abilities we will talk about later. Would that be okay with you Perseus?" When Khione asked the thousand dollar question she sounded nervous Perseus would refuse despite knowing he probably wouldn't refuse.
"Of course it would be okay with me! That sounds so cool!" Perseus exclaimed with the excitement a 6 year old should have about cookies or something.
"Now just to let you know you may fall asleep when I do this but it won't hurt you at all okay?" Perseus nodded eagerly, showing Khione he was indeed ready.
Khione put her fingers to the 6 year olds forehead and a light blue light pulsed all around his body. The six year olds eyelids began to become heavy until he finally gave into Morpheus's embrace but his resistance still impressed Khione, he would no doubt one day be a very strong warrior. But Khione had no time to start musing about that as she had to report to her father, Boreas about her mission. She just hoped she could keep the child safe, she did swear an oath after all. These were Khione's thoughts as she turned into snow along with Perseus and was whisked away to Quebec.
As Khione materialized in the ice palace it was in a bedroom made of ice, snow and frost. Khione laid the unconscious Perseus down in the bed before turning into snow once again. Khione materialized in her fathers throne room. In the throne room there was now her and 2 other thrones. One was occupied by her father, Boreas and the other occupied by the master of winds, Aeolus. "Father, Aeolus." Khione addressed both of the 2 gods accordingly by hugging her father and bowing in front of Aeolus.
"My daughter, was your idea a success? Did you find Poseidon's son as planned?" Aeolus asked his daughter.
"Yes father, I did find his son. I brought him here and she now has my blessing and is my adopted son."
"Yes well w- WAIT WHAT? You adopted him? Wait, was this part of the plan? I don't think it was." Aeolus experienced what seemed like 4 different emotions in the span of about 5 seconds which was just how the god functioned.
"Why did you decide to adopt him, Khione? We know you were excited to raise the child but this excited?" Aeolus's voice was tired but filled with curiosity.
"I am not very sure why I adopted him so quickly. I felt impulsed to adopt him, I felt obliged to care for him for some reason. He is here in the palace as we speak as well." Khione seemed to actually be wondering why she adopted Perseus so easily once it was brought up by Aeolus.
"That is a very interesting turn of events. It may have been the interference of a higher power or just instinct Khione, there really is no way to tell. But it does seem that you have sealed the idea of us raising the child here. I will gladly bestow my blessing upon the child if he wishes to remain here and be trained under our tutelage. After all he will be the representative of the north and wind too I suppose."
"I would also be willing to give the child my blessing as well as my daughter. After all with the prophecy over our heads and with him being Poseidon's child he will need all the help he can get."
"Very true, well then, does anybody have anything else to add to this meeting?"
"Yes, as a matter of fact somebody does have something else to add to this meeting." This voice came from no particular direction yet all of the people in the room could hear it. In the center of the throne room water particles began condensing until they formed a man that looked to be in his mid thirties. He had evenly tanned skin with messy black hair and sea green eyes. He wore khaki shorts and a tropical shirt and despite being in a palace of ice did not seem phased by that at all, as a matter of fact he looked almost invigorated by the frozen water. The three other immortals in the room could tell the power of this man far surpassed their own and he did not look happy and anyone in the mythological world knew that an angry Poseidon was a good thing to avoid. Poseidon held a trident in his right hand and radiated an aura of power that essentially said 'don't mess with me right now'.
"Ah lord Poseidon," it was Aeolus who broke out of his stupor first and bowed before the lord of the seas. "To what do we owe the pleasure of you paying us a visit?"
"Cut the crap Aeolus, you know damn well why I'm here. My son was abducted by Khione and if you thought I would just let it stand, you must have lost a few brain cells from the last time we talked."
"Really Poseidon? I'm surprised you didn't seem to care much when the child's mother was killed in front of his eyes. Now did you?" Khione knew it was a bad idea to antagonize the god but she couldn't resist teasing her old lover. Before Khione knew it a trident was at her throat and Poseidon was in her face.
"If you ever say that again Khione I swear to you I will take you under the sea and feed you to the Kraken. Got it?" Poseidon growled this at Khione and Khione did regret her mistake like she knew she would.
"Lord Poseidon if i may, we had no malicious intentions when taking your child here. We merely saw the boy and decided if we were to have any representative it should be a son of Poseidon." Boreas tried to reason with Poseidon but his talking didn't seem to quell the lord of the seas' anger.
"So that is all my son is to you? A representative for you and your children?"
"Well my lord yes we did want to do that. The idea was for us to bless the boy and train him here. Let's face it, if he is left to walk around Zeus would find him and kill him because he is so paranoid for his throne. You couldn't raise him either my lord, you know the fates wouldn't allow that. Poseidon please think about it. What do you lose here? Your son will be safe and he will be well prepared for the prophecy if he is the prophecy child. I personally swear upon the river styx that I will not let any harm come to the child if you let us raise him. Khione has already sworn an oath of protection to the child and I am sure Aeolus will as well." When Boreas said this to Poseidon Aeolus nodded his head in agreement, saying he would swear an oath to the child as well.
"Very well then. As long as you swear an oath to keep my son safe I will not prevent you from keeping him here. But I do have some one condition, I will be able to visit him from time to time. He may think of you two as father figures but his father will be involved in his life. I will help train him in his water and earthshaker abilities as well as teaching him magic of the sea. Is this agreeable?" Poseidon surprised the others by agreeing to the deal so quickly and his terms were more than agreeable.
"Yes, that would be completely agreeable lord Poseidon. If both Khione and Aeolus agree with me I think we can all live and be happy with that." Aeolus quickly agreed with Poseidon in order to keep anybody from pissing off the king of Atlantis.
"Very well then, I will be keeping an eye on my son from Atlantis, I will come up as frequently as I can. Oh and Khione, given that you adopted my son I expect you to be a mother figure in his life."
"Wait, how did you know..." Khione stopped talking when Poseidon dissolved into water and left the palace. "Damn you Poseidon," Khione muttered under her breath.
"So Aeolus, what are we to do now?" Asked Boreas.
"Well, we must bless them by training the boy. Could you please bring the boy here, Khione?"
As Khione turned into snow and left the room both Aeolus and Boreas were clearly wondering the same thing. 'How much of an impact will this child have on the world?'
"Come on Perseus you must try to wipe them out THINK!" Khione's voice almost fell deaf on Perseus's ears as he cut down another snowy figure with his sword. The sword he wielded was an elegantly crafted blade that teemed with power that should not belong to a child of the sea. It had a mix of light blue, electric yellow and white mixing around like a screen saver in the blade. Perseus was fighting a literally never ending force of snowy beings who held jagged blades made of ice who kept being conjured up by Khione. Perseus was up against about 20 of these figures and his mother said his task was to either kill 200 of them or wipe them all off the board. They were pretty low level, inexperienced fighters but their sheer numbers were getting to Perseus.
Perseus began to think about his abilities and started to think of how he could wipe them all out. From his mother who was torturing him right now he gained the abilities to control ice and snow as well as freezing his enemies when they are weak and creating a blast of ice and snow he could also teleport using snow which was incredibly useful. Normally these abilities are extremely valuable and helpful but against beings conjured by his mother those abilities were more or less useless. From his uncle Zethes he gained the ability to become as fast as the winds and from his other uncle, Calais he gained an immense increase in his strength. These abilities were always very useful, where more passive than anything and he always had them on. From his grandfather, Boreas he could control the winds, specifically the northern ones and bend them to his will. Boreas's brothers, not people to miss out on the action, also wanted to get a chance to meet Perseus given how much their brother and master talked about him. In the end they all decide to also give Perseus their blessings over the winds. But with the blessings Perseus also gained alternate abilities. He could grow plants very efficiently because of the blessing of Zephyros, god of Spring. Another ability he got from Zephyros was a blessing of beauty because of Zephyros being Eros's attendant and all. From Eurus he got better control over the winds of the east and because of Eurus's domain of Autumn he could control mist and fog very efficiently, both normal and mystical. And from the last of the brothers, Notus he gained better control over the southern winds and could increase the temperature of a space around him. But the power over winds he got from the four brothers paled in comparison to the abilities he got over wind from Aeolus who gave him divine authority over all wind and storms. Yet one thing he possessed that not even Aeolus, with his domain of wind and storms could do was conjure lightning and have defined authority over it. You see the sword Perseus possessed was not normal by any standards and was actually forged by the most skilled cyclopes under the sea. But the most impressive thing about it was what it was made of, when Kronos chopped up his father and threw him into the ocean some of the rock that Ouranos's chopped up body was laid on absorbed some of that essence and was fused with the rock. Poseidon harvested this rock and metal when attempting to craft a weapon for his son and soon realized this rock gave whoever held it authority and control over the sky. Poseidon could have probably used this power to topple Zeus from his throne but he saw it to be much more fit if he gave a weapon made of the rock to his son. Speaking of Poseidon last but certainly not least was Perseus's biological father, Poseidon. From Poseidon he gained control over water, storms and earthquakes.
All of these abilities that Perseus possessed he became proficient in quite quickly, but that was because he was tutored by the gods that controlled those domains.
But for now back to those damned snowmen! His powers over ice and snow was a no go because Khione would manage to hold them together. His powers from the earthshaker, while usually pretty reliable, would not work here because they were in the snowy palace. So instead of looking to the floor which he may be able to melt he decided to look at the air. His control over the air may have been equal to or even surpassing a minor wind god like Boreas and his brothers. Perseus willed the winds around him to lift him up into the air and keep him there. When the snowmen saw him going into the air their swords changed into bows with arrows already notched into them. They quickly opened fire on Perseus but they had no real chance of hitting because the winds deflected them practically without doing anything at all. Merely thinking about how he didn't want the arrows to be there anymore.
See Perseus's connection to the winds was different to the gods of wind. When the gods of wind used the air the air spirits (not wind spirits) knew that it would be foolish to resist the gods power because even if the air particles used all their might they could not resist the gods power over them but they could make it hard for them to control. If they did this though they ran the risk of being blown away from the flame of the west by the god they resisted and that would be a disaster for the air spirit. But an ability of Perseus god after being blessed by the 4 winds and Aeolus was the ability to communicate with the air spirits. And wouldn't you know, the spirits really liked having someone to talk to and communicate with. For that reason the air spirits have given Perseus full control over them and would even control themselves to protect Perseus from certain things, like arrows. When Aeolus learned this he seemed pretty disappointed (in a joking way) that his own subjects who always seemed to like him, had chosen a new favorite.
One thing that surprised Perseus about the wind gods was the amount of free time they had on their hands. Well Aeolus had to talk about the weather on the Olympic broadcast channel daily but that task wasn't that bad. It was truly shocking how little the other 4 wind gods had to do, the most they did was round up some crazy storm spirits disturbing their winds. Because of this fact most of them spent their time around Perseus, whether it be training him or just talking and teaching him history.
Another thing that shocked Perseus was the personalities of the gods. He expected them all to be all about business but most of them were pretty chill, like the cool uncle. Zephyros was usually fussing about physical appearances and what not but told very interesting stories and was very positive and good at reading emotions. Eurus was always pestering Perseus about what he was eating and training with, he was basically the health nut of the 4 wind gods but he two was a great storyteller and very clearly loved Perseus even though he was not as active in Perseus's physical combat training as the others. Notus was probably the kindest of the brothers, he was always there to help others, including and excluding demigods. He was good at talking to Perseus and easing him into the world of Greek mythology. Finally Boreas, he was the only one of the gods to not frequently speak in english. He preferred to speak in the native language of Quebec, French. Luckily from his blessing Perseus became fluent in the language of love, if he didn't they would have some problems on their hands. Boreas was the more stern and stolid of the brothers but he still held a soft spot for Perseus given that he was directly related to Perseus as his grandfather. Finally Aeolus, the master of wind, not the god of all winds. He was a unique figure. He changed emotions practically every time Perseus saw him. His mood was like the weather and wind, constantly changing. Even though Perseus thought he may be slightly psychotic he still considered him part of the family and cared for him a great deal and from what Perseus could pick up the feeling was mutual.
The other 2 gods in Perseus's life were also very unique. Khione, his adoptive mother and also the one who got him out of the horrid apartment with Gabe and his now dead mom's memories. Perseus loved his adopted mother more than anybody else in his family though they all meant a great deal to him. Khione spent almost all of her time caring for Perseus and Perseus loved her for it. They shared a unique bond like no one else in their 'family'. Khione did become a mother to Perseus but that's not to say Perseus never longed for his birth mother. Some nights he would have dreams about her and could be found at the sea thinking about his mother. Most of the times when he was at the beach thinking of his mother he was not the only one. His birth father would often be at the beach as well when Perseus was there. Perseus's relationship with his father was a unique one. When his father trained him it was usually pretty harsh training with his father pushing him to his limits, teaching him how to bend water in the 3 different phases, shake the earth to group splitting levels and more how to create storms more than control them, he was the stormbringer after all. Yet when he was talking to his son he was a completely different person. He became fun, more caring, and much more interesting.
But anyways Perseus had to get rid of those snowmen before getting lost in his thoughts. The air spirits seemed to have pushed more than a few arrows out of the way and were getting tired. Time to end this. Perseus felt the particles of water in the air and just the air in general and took control of both. He heated the particles of water and used the powers of Notus to heat up the air. The air gradually got warmer and warmer until the snowmen could no longer keep their shape and melted onto the ice floor which did indeed look a little weird.
Khione smiled up at her son as he had the wind lower him back onto the ground pride showing in her eyes. She was so proud of what her son had accomplished, he welded almost all of his powers flawlessly and would undoubtedly be well prepared for whatever the fates have to throw at him. Perseus was 11 years old at the time and it was hard to think about how powerful he may be when he becomes older.
"I'm very proud of you Perseus, it's good to see that you are keeping up on your other powers like temperature change."
"Thanks mom, you made those fights much harder than last time."
"They still had basically the same skill level, there were just more than last time. I'm happy you were thinking about how to wipe all of them out at once."
Before Perseus could respond a bright flash enveloped the room and when Perseus could see again he saw the form of Notus.
"Hey Perseus! I saw your little stunt with the heat, very impressive man! I totally think this place could use a little more heat don't you?"
"It's a palace of ice dumbasses. Did you really think it would be warm here?"
"Sheesh Khione just kidding, gods take a joke." Khione's eyes lit up at this and before they started screaming at each other Perseus intervened.
"Come on you two, please stop arguing. Now Notus, why did you come here? I imagine it was not just to watch my training."
"Oh yeah, well sadly it wasn't but certainly a benefit. I came here because apparently Aeolus wants you in the throne room, he's there along with the other wind gods and Poseidon. I think they have something to talk to Perseus about." Notus explained all of this and Perseus just nodded his head, not showing any real emotion.
"Perfect, Perseus, do you think you can get their via snow travel?" Asked Khione to which Perseus nodded his head in agreement.
Perseus closed his eyes and tried to feel the particles in his body. He then tried to combine his particles with his power over snow and separate his body into ice particles. His body then slowly dissolved into snow and shot forward in the direction of the throne room.
When Perseus's snowflakes finally reached the throne room Perseus concentrated on the snowflakes of his body and brought them all to the center of the throne room. When they all were there Perseus concentrated on bringing them into the form of himself. All of this happened in under 1 second but to Perseus it felt like 10.
When the immortals saw Perseus reform he was kneeling in front of them, showing his respect to them. "My lords, why did you summon me here? What do you require my help with?"
"Ah hello Perseus, yes there is something that we could use your help with." Zephyros responded to Perseus's question.
"You see my son, up here in the north there have been many demigods who have been dying very gruesome deaths. We did not know the cause until recently when one of the local Venti discovered a demigod body being eaten by a lion. The Nemean lion. I am sure you know why this is such a big problem but sadly it gets worse. We have noticed that many people, mortals included have been getting killed at a rapid pace. We believe this is because there is not one but 2 Nemean Lion's in the area. We are telling you this because we want you to take out these Nemean Lions so no more demigods are killed." Perseus looked shocked after his father said this. He expected this to be them asking him to take out some smaller monsters like before.
"Father I am glad that you think I can do this but can I? I know I have been trained by you all for years now but the Nemean Lion is a legendary monster that has not been slain since when Heracles walked the earth. Especially when you add another to the mix it becomes very hard for anybody to kill them."
"It does indeed my son but if there is one demigod alive who can do it, it would be you. We all have full faith you can defeat them, you just need to take them on separately and find out how to kill them." Poseidon said this like it was the simplest thing even but Perseus highly doubted it would be.
"Very well then. I will try my best to kill the Lion's. Do you have any specific location they have been spotted?" The gods all looked relieved that Perseus agreed to killing the lions.
"Yes they are both reportedly spotted in a forest north of Quebec. Though your demigod scent is so powerful I am sure you could go to the other side of Quebec and they would come running."
"Thank you father, I swear to you I will try my best to complete this mission without fail."
"One more thing about Perseus. I don't know what it is but I can sense a being of extreme power wandering around Canada. Who or what it is I don't know. But you must be careful, if I am reading it right it would be able to tear you to shreds in a matter of minutes. Please tread carefully, I love you Perseus."
Perseus nodded his head and concentrated on turning into snowflakes but when he was almost gone he said something that may have made the situation better or worse, "I love you as well, all of you." And with that Perseus was gone, gone to hunt 2 of the most dangerous monsters in Greek Mythology.
