Adrien lay on his back staring at the ceiling. He stared at it like it could give him some miracle answers.

He just needed some answer. It just wasn't making any sense.

Last night with Marinette replayed over and over in his head. It was almost like he had no control. Heck, for days past the only thing he'd been able to think was Marinette.

Sure he liked being around her, she was nice, she was sweet, an amazing friend. She was a friend. So why on earth was his heart at 100bpm when they were close the previous night?

He ran his fingers through his face. He needed to think. He knew he was in love with Ladybug and before he started spending each night at Marinette's, she was the only one who could make his heart beat that fast.

But now there was Marinette. She was just so soft in his hold and her scent just somehow sends him transcending. The way she made him feel warm inside, and how much he couldn't stand the thought of being away from her.

He knew he was developing some sort of feelings for her. And he knew it needed to stop. He couldn't ruin their friendship with feelings. Marinette would never even feel that way about him.

He rolled over on the bed, this had been bugging him all day. For so long, his heart had only belonged to Ladybug, even when he tried his hardest to love someone else, it couldn't work. And now he was suddenly having feelings for Marinette.

And he just had no idea what to do about it.

"You do know it's 1 in the morning." Plagg finally decided to comment after watching the blonde groan and toss each second.

"I can't see her tonight, Plagg. I need to work out whatever I'm feeling by staying away from her." Even the thought of not being able to see her was gut wrenching. But he needed to stay away...to rethink...to be sure if what he actually felt was romantic or he was just imagining the feeling.

Afterall how possible was it that you could love two people? It wasn't. And he knew he was in love with Ladybug. Marinette was meant to be his friend only. And now he was suddenly falling and now he could ruin things between them.

"What's there to work out? You like her, she's real and there unlike Ladybug." Plagg searched through the mini fridge eager to satisfy his night cravings.

"I do like her."

"For once, you're not so dense." The kwami murmured sarcastically, unheard to the blonde.

"But I love Ladybug. Whatever I feel for Marinette shouldn't be there in the first place." He groaned into his arms. It was much more simple before but now his heart was a mess.

"Well I hope you can sleep happy with the thought that you literally ditched her tonight to think about your feelings. " Plagg stressed the last word to make his point.

Adrien sighed, he knew she must have been expecting him. And he didn't show up. The thought of just how long she must have waited somehow managed to twist some uncomfortable knots in his stomach.

"She's probably already realized that she can't count on you." The kwami caressed his cheese as he spoke.

Adrien shot up from the bed immediately, "She can't think that!"

"Mm...you don't say.." Plagg muffled as he ogled the cheese. "Maybe we should go see her."

"If she's awake now, then she's probably as desperate as you are."

Marinette leaned on the railings. Somehow the cold night did not bother her. That was by far the least of her problems.

"Marinette, I think he's not coming. Maybe you should go to bed, it's really late." Tikki flew up to her, suggesting for the umpteenth time that night.

But as usual, Marinette nodded in negation, her gaze transfixed on the night sky. He'd be jumping through those roofs any moment soon to meet her, she thought. "He'll be here, I know." Her voice didn't waver, "I trust you."

"You should go to bed, Tikki." She smiled and Tikki nodded before flying down the hatch to the bed. She really hoped Catnoir would come.

The bluenette tapped her fingers on the railings. Any moment now.

She let her thoughts drift as she waited. Somehow they went to being pressed up to Catnoir the previous night. That felt oddly good. She literally had her feet on his while they skated, as much as she didn't want to admit it was adorable.

Maybe if she ever got the guts to confess her feelings to Adrien, they would try that. Well, a girl could dream.

Then something clicked in her head. She hadn't kept tabs on Adrien for the past few days. It seemed Catnoir was doing a better job occupying her mind. She smiled.

"Princess..." Her heart did a backflip at the sound of the voice and she immediately turned around to the sound of the voice.

He just stepped down from the railings. Her smile widened and she took an extra second to stare before stepping forward to put her hands around him, "Kitty.." She whispered breathlessly.

Wasting no second, Catnoir hugged back. He tightened his grip on her waist, gosh, he had missed her warmth. Lowering his head to the crook of her neck, he breathed in that scent he'd been so deprived off for 24 hours long.

Marinette giggled as his breath on her neck tickled her. He pulled back to stare at her. Somehow there was this overwhelming urge in him to kiss her. The soft night glow made her even prettier. "I missed you." He gushed bringing his hand up to the side of her face.

She leaned into his hand, her gaze softening as she stared at him. "I knew you'd come."

He let his eyes wander around her face wanting to soak in her features, every minuscule detail. What was wrong if he had a crush on her anyway? Marinette was amazing, who wouldn't?

Maybe it was because he was seeing Ladybug less and Marinette more. Soon things would go back to normal and the feelings would disappear as suddenly as they came. And they'd be great friends.

But for now, he would enjoy as much of Marinette's warmth as he could. He leaned down and placed a kiss on her forehead, "Of course I came, like I would miss an opportunity to see you for anything."

"You're too much, really." She chuckled and he was so glad he didn't miss the light pink blush on her cheeks.

They took a pause to stare at the other when Marinette felt something. Looking down, her eyes widened as she saw Catnoir's tail wrapped around her legs.

Following her line of sight, he saw it and his face burned in embarrassment. Of course, the cat instincts.

"Does it do that...like always?"

"Sorry..." He immediately moved to unwrap it but she nodded in negation, "It's okay, it's kinda cute. I think it likes me." She giggled.

"Who wouldn't?" He gushed and she laughed, playfully pushing away from him, "You would never stop, would you?"

"So what are we doing for tonight?" He asked and her eyes lit up. "Hang on a sec, I'll be right back." She quickly hurried into her room and in a few seconds, the hatch flew open and she was back.

"We're gonna make a snowman!" She opened her hands to show him the pack of buttons she went to get. "Have you made one before?"

"Not really. I didn't go out as a kid." He said it like it was casual even if it Marinette knew it must have been lonely for him as a child.

She took his hand in hers, "We're gonna make up for that." She smiled and he couldn't help but smile back. "I would love that."

She put on some clothes matching the weather and then he vaulted them over to the Seine where they'd been the previous day. And then she giddily pulled him with her to make the snowman.

They rolled the large snowball and then the smaller ones then finally placed them on each other.

"That's it?"

She chuckled at his question then opened the pack of buttons, "Almost...you give it eyes, hands and a smile." She showed how to place each buttons and in a bit they were done.

"It's still not complete." He tapped her chin, then turned to him, "Could you look around for something we could use as hands?"

"Sure..." He stood up and took small strides, looking around. "Ouch!" He whined when he felt a snow ball hit his back. He turned back to look at Marinette kneeling next to the snowman. She was gripping her stomach and laughing.

"You should see your face right now." She breathed in between giggles, "I-" She was cut short as he threw two snowballs at her face. He laughed when she gasped as the snow trickled down her face, "Oh you did not just-" She was interrupted again as he threw one more at her.

He laughed even harder, "You should see your face seriously." He went back to kneel beside her. She playfully huffed and looked away. He placed a finger under her chin and made her face him again, "I love your little angry pout." He tapped her pouting lips with his finger.

While he was distracted, Marinette dipped her hand in the snow and formed a ball before smashing it right on his face. She laughed and ran away before he could react. "Ha! Now you should see your face."

"That was so not fair, princess." He pouted and she giggled, "Nothing is fair." She threw another snowball at him.

And that was how they got into a full fledged snowball fight. Neither of them minding that their laughter might have been disturbing the rest of the city that was asleep.

Marinette squatted to roll another snowball to hit but when she looked back up, she didn't see Catnoir anymore. "Catnoir?" She looked around.

It took a second for her to realize, "You know if you're trying to scare me, it's not gonna work." She put down the snowball and walked forward, looking around but still didn't find him.

She frowned, "Okay, Catnoir, it's not funny anymore." When she got silence as a response, she actually began to worry, "Kitty?"

"Ki-" She screamed when felt a pair of arms grip her waist from behind. Catnoir held her tight and lifted her up and spun her around before finally putting her down.

He cracked up and laughed hard when he saw the look on her face. She hit him hard on the chest, "Are you trying to kill me? You almost gave me a heart attack." She hit him harder but he only laughed.

"It's not funny." She whined and pouted. Catnoir would have wheezed, gosh she was adorable. "I'm sorry, princess, but the look on your face was so priceless." He tried to breathe after his coming down from his laughing phase. "And you said I couldn't scare you."

She rolled her eyes and turned away feigning annoyance. "Oh please, you took me by surprise, I wasn't ready."

He laughed even more, "Isn't that the point?"

Marinette could sworn that all the time she'd spent with him as Ladybug, she'd never heard him laugh that much. Somehow she decided to make it her duty to make him laugh more often. The world deserved to hear such a beautiful sound. And he deserved to be happy.

She tried to hide her smile even though she knew she was failing miserably. She huffed playfully and attempted to turn away but he placed his hand to the side of her face and made her face.

He could see her trying to hold back a smile and he smiled cheekily, "Come on, now...let it out..." Taking any opportunity he could to be close to her, he softly rubbed his thumb along her face.

Unable to hold back, the bluenette finally smiled widely. "There's my girl." She giggled softly before placing her hand on his on her face.

"We should probably start going, it's getting really late." She looked up at him from her lashes as she spoke.

For a moment more than he was meant to, he just stared at her. She was beautiful, no doubt. Unable to stop himself, he leaned down to place a kiss on her forehead. "Yeah." He whispered before lifting her up in his arms.

(A/N - I have no idea if Catnoir's tail can actually move itself or not but I just think it will be extremely cute if it does)
