One more after this one!!

Chapter 6

They didn't even say goodbye but given that Harm left his Corvette and they were both missing, he knew Bud and Harriet could figure things out. His surprise was evident when Mac slid her key FOB into his palm and gave him a quick kiss as she told him to enjoy the ride.

The ice blue, BMW sports car purred to life and after adjusting the driver's seat for his height, he carefully brought her out to the main road and then raced through the highway on their way back to the city.

"Thank you." Mac said once he opened the door to let her in. At once she was in his arms again being swept off her feet, moving too fast but then Harm was no stranger to her. Every time his lips met hers it was as if the past never happened and she welcomed his touch. She wanted him. She wanted him bad.

That dragging sensation fluttered on her abdomen along with the warmth and tingling which came with it. Even with one look, the man had the power to turn her so wanton that she spent a decade shoring up her defenses.

This wasn't the same man she fell for one night in the desert nor the one that asked her to marry him in an empty loft as their World turned upside down. This wasn't the man who couldn't commit to a wedding date nor the man that left their home in San Diego one morning and never really said goodbye.

He was still her flyboy. He was still the man she fell in love with but he was different. Mac felt it in the way he kissed her. The way his touch turned from passionate desperation to reverence. He let her set the pace matching her moves with his own.

She led, he followed weaving a trail of clothing across the suite, through the door and stopping at the foot of the bed where they stood before each other naked and bare.

For the first time in his life, Harm didn't know what to do. She was still beautiful, still perfect, still so sexy that he felt he didn't have the right to share this moment with Mac. His heart raced and his body burned for her but his eyes would be the first to make their move by studying the subtle changes, the fuller curves of an older woman.

But damn, did she have to look this good? So much so that his breath shook when he exhaled. He stood a little straighter once Harm felt Mac's eyes on him. The visual caress made him unbearably hard, something that she appreciated by her sly grin.

The denim shirt had hidden this from her, broader shoulders, well defined pecs, abs that rippled and she'd yet to touch him. She could count each little block which led a trail down to his length standing wonderfully proud at attention.

It made Mac bite her lower lip. The anticipation of feeling him inside her again made her quiver. Harm was the one to make the first move. He stepped forward and let his fingers dance over her right flank where a beautiful tattoo now was. Delicate and colorful, a peacock's feather greeted his eager touch.

On her opposite side just above her hip he found a phrase written in Mac's own handwriting. "You can only come to the morning through the shadows." It was beautifully heartbreaking this mantra for a woman who had been through so much. No doubt he once added to those shadows, he also wanted to pull them out of the dark.

Harm followed the letters with his lips, kissing down her hip, stopping only to glance up. Mac had her eyes closed, her lips parted, her cheeks flushed and he'd barely touched her. The feel of her was both familiar and new, for once he didn't sense that odd weight that once plagued their relationship.

He was ready once and for all - no coin flip needed, no arguments about commissions or deployments. Harm loved her, that was all that matters. "I love you Sarah...I'll always love you."
