"I am not leaving here to relive a memory that has plagued me for so long. Please, Haku, tell me you remember me. Tell me that this adventure wasn't just a snippet in time and that I will be able to return here again."
The young boy cocked his head to the side and stared at her for a moment. His eyes scanned her in confusion then he repeated himself once more.
"You can't be here, you must go before the sun sets. Please leave."
She takes one step forward and reaches her hand out towards him.
"I already left once, I can't leave again. I can't cross the river and never look back. I did once, and if I do it again, this place will continue to haunt me so. These memories, this pain...It has tortured me for so long. I waited and waited for you, but you never came."
"You waited? What do you mean you-"
The young, emerald haired boy collapsed to the ground holding his chest. Pain washed over his face and memories slowly flooded his head. This wasn't real, was it? Slowly opening one eye, he scanned the petite figure in front of him. Her brown hair rested upon her shoulders and her slim figure trembled as she stood against the orange landscape. Tears streamed down her face, slowly tainting the ground beneath her. He remembered her face, he remembered her tears and he remembered her trembling body as she consumed food from this world for the first time. This was the girl that tortured his dreams consistently. The one he wished to see, but never could. Why couldn't he have gone to see her? Why did so much time pass to result in this scene again? In confusion he sat back, dealt with the pain and raised his head slightly.
"Is it really you? This can't be real, this already happened. This whole thing, time has-"
A strong breeze whips through the outskirts of town. The small girl grips her hair to prevent it from flying into her face. The young boy tries picking up his head more to get a visual of the landscape. The wind makes it hard to open his eyes though. Then both children hear a deep voice.
"Isn't this what you both wished for? To be back to the beginning and see one another again?"
